Humming a soft, happy tune, Kagome casually walked the streets of New York as her amethyst orbs scanned her surroundings for her desired target. Ever since she had resolved to meet her 'Kame-san,' she had taken the time to do more research on him and his brothers, specifically their hang out spots.
Tonight, the Knicks were playing in Madison Square Garden. It was the perfect time and place to finally come face-to-face with Donnie (and his brothers).
Kagome smiled near-predatorily when she caught sight of the pizza delivery man. He was standing on a street corner, looking bored and distracted as he paid more attention to his phone than his surroundings. It was the perfect setup.
As expected of Donnie, she thought. His brothers would trust him the most to make sure their pizza delivery was in place for their plans to watch the basketball game.
"Excuse me," she sweetly said, "Kevin, right?"
Kevin glanced away from his phone. His mouth dropped open upon seeing the attractive Asian young woman. "Y-Yes?" he stuttered out.
"I'll take that pizza you're holding and I'll make sure it gets delivered into the right hands." She gestured to the square box he was holding as if to add emphasis.
"Uh, o-okay." Still staring with an intensity that had been once focused on his phone, he handed the pizza to Kagome without a single protest. He slowly backed away, his steps hesitant, but he eventually was further down the street and out of sight.
Kagome smiled and waved. "Thank you, Kevin," she called out. Holding the pizza within her possession, she commented to herself, "Now, let the games begin."

"Donnie, did you set it up?" one of his brothers called out questioningly.
He was playfully offended as he yelled back, "Of course I did. He'll be there!" In the background, Mikey shouted in excitement as he and his brothers continued moving at high speed to their destination. Donnie's heart was pumping with adrenaline. It was always an adventure when he was with the others, and that night's basketball game would be awesome.
But if he were honest, he would have preferred staying home and chatting with Kagome. She was an intellectual just like him and understood everything he 'geek'd out over. However, she was also the one who pointed out that his head was always in his computers and that he should spend time with his brothers. Basketball happened to be a sport they all enjoyed, so watching the Knicks game was perfect.
Popping out of the sewer, the manhole cover flying, the four brothers jumped out with exclamations of excitement. However, when one of them reached to take the pizza box, they were abruptly disappointed when it was snatched out of reach.
Everything froze, the teenaged turtles all staring wide-eyed at the raven haired beauty who held their delicious food hostage with a sweet smile and sparkling amethyst eyes.
"Hello, Kame-san," she greeted.
Donnie blinked, his eyes widening behind his thick glasses. "You… You're…"
"Do you know who she is, Donnie?" Leo questioned cautiously. It was bad enough that they were standing in the open where anyone could see them. But to actually interact with another human being that wasn't April? It was a foreign concept and one he didn't feel comfortable doing. They were ninjas. They belonged in the shadows.
In a daze, the purple-wearing turtle said, "This is… This is Kagome." Using one hand, he gestured towards her as if they didn't know who he was talking about.
"What?" his brothers exclaimed at the same time, shocked.
Mikey gazed at Kagome in a new light, awed at not just her beauty but also at her revealed identity. "You're the hacker chick who Donnie lost to? Respect, Dudette. Respect." He nodded with approval. "He was totally constipated too."
"I wasn't constipated," Donnie shouted in embarrassment. He could feel his cheeks heating, and he suddenly couldn't look Kagome in the eyes.
Leo crossed his arms over his chest. "Kagome, right?" he rhetorically started. "So, you're the one who was able to outsmart my brother? I will admit to being impressed with your skills."
Raph rolled his eyes. "Yeah, and you're the one who had Donnie giggling like a freaking school girl."
"All of you, stop talking," Donnie pleaded desperately. Who knew they could be so embarrassing? He turned to Kagome, who was softly giggling at his misfortune. "Let me make things clear: first off, I wasn't suffering from constipation. And second, I did not giggle like a school girl."
"Whatever you say, Donnie," Leo chuckled out, smirking in amusement.
"Anyway," the purple-wearing turtle exclaimed, quickly changing the subject. "Not that I'm unhappy about finally getting to meet you face-to-face, Kagome, but what are you doing here?"
Kagome responded, "I wanted to finally meet you." She glanced meaningfully at the other three. "I wanted to meet you and your brothers."
"Well, now that you have, what do you think?" Donnie nervously asked.
She smiled. "What do I think? I think you're all amazing."
"Bro, can we keep her?" Mikey voiced out dreamily.
"Not now, Mikey," Donnie replied drily. But mentally he agreed. A small, shy smile curved his mouth as he continued to gaze at the raven haired beauty. "Say… Do you want to, maybe, come watch the Knicks game with us?"
"I'd love to."

After the Knicks game was interrupted thanks to Mikey's untimely bout of clumsiness, Donnie carried Kagome swiftly to safety before someone could figure out their hiding spot in the Jumbo-tron. Once they were in a secure location, he gently placed her back on her feet.
"Sorry about that," he apologized sheepishly.
Kagome waved off his apology. "It's okay. The game was really good even though we had to leave right in the middle. I even enjoyed our escape." The adrenaline was still pumping through her veins. It was a feeling she missed since her adventures in the Warring States Era.
"I'm glad you still had a good time," Donnie stated, smiling. "I promise the next time won't be this… chaotic."
She beamed happily. "I can't wait." She rocked back and forth on her heels. "How about for our second date, I bake you something?"
His cheeks turned an interesting shade of reddish-brown, obviously blushing at her words. "Y-You don't have to do that."
"I want to," she replied. Tilting her head to the side cutely, she decided, "I'll make a carrot cake. What do you think?" It seemed like a reasonable dessert to make a man-turtle. Regular turtles liked eating carrots, right?
"R-Really, Kagome, you-you don't have to do that."
Kagome lightly laughed. Leaning closer, she grasped his hands within her own. His skin was smooth and a little clammy but she didn't seem to care at the different texture against her fingers and palms. "Donnie," she sweetly said, "stop being such a gentleman. This is just the beginning to a beautiful relationship."
Donnie's stuttering became worse and his face heated to an impossible level. "Re-Relation-Relationship?" he squeaked out. He swallowed nervously.
"Yep," the raven haired beauty said, obviously amused by his bashfulness. She could already conclude that she would have to be the aggressor when it came to their developing relationship. She didn't mind. Before, she'd been content to stay by her loved one's side as long as he needed her, but no more. She wasn't that innocent schoolgirl anymore. She was a young woman that knew what she wanted and wasn't afraid to go after it. "I'll send you my personal number. Contact me if you need me, okay?" With a playful wink, she left.
And all Donnie could do was stare after her retreating figure, dazed, but with a goofy smile starting to curve his mouth upward.

"Wait," April said, turning to face her turtle friends with a regretful gaze. "Sun's coming up. You guys can't be seen."
All of them, particularly Raph, were frustrated by the undeniable truth of her statement. Upon discovering Baxter Stockman's involvement with Shredder and the Foot Clan, the four brothers had been set to backup April in her search for evidence. But they were confined to the sewers until nightfall.
"Well then, what should we do?" Raph growled.
"I'll be fine on my—" April started, but was cut off by Donnie.
"I know someone who can help."
Leo glanced at his purple-wearing brother, knowing exactly whom he was referring to. "You mean Kagome?"
Confused and curious about this new person, April asked, "Who's Kagome?"
Mikey helpfully answered in a sing-song voice, "Donnie's girlfriend."
In response, April raised an intrigued eyebrow as she shot Donnie a smirk.
"She's not my girlfriend." Yet. Again, Donnie could feel his cheeks heating with embarrassment. "She's the hacker that I came into contact with a few months ago. We just… happened to finally meet earlier this evening. That's all."
"Uh huh, sure thing, Bro," Mikey teased, grinning. "So, when's the second date?"
Raph joined in, "You did get her number, right?"
"Alright, that's enough," Leo interjected, but his amused smirk was seen by all. "You trust her?" The question was clearly aimed at Donnie.
Donnie nodded without hesitation. "Of course. She can easily hack into Baxter's system as easily as I could. Plus, I know she can defend herself."
The blue-wearing turtle nodded decisively. "Get into contact with her and let her know the plan," he directed. He turned his eyes back onto April. "At least this way you'll have some sort of backup."
April nodded in understanding. "Right. Besides," she playfully added, "this will be a good opportunity to get to know Donnie's girlfriend."
His cheeks must have been on fire by now with the amount of blushing he'd been doing all night. "She's not my girlfriend," he practically shouted.

April held a hand out towards the single ninja-dressed Foot Clan member, panting lightly from all of the running she did. "You know," she started, a pleading note in her tone, "that guy in the hockey mask? We don't know who he is. We're not with him." She shook her head to add emphasis.
From her side, Kagome narrowed her eyes onto the Foot Clan member. She'd been able to defend herself and keep April safe even with the interference of the unknown male with the hockey stick and mask. Unfortunately, they had lost the ooze that had changed the two criminals, Bebop and Rocksteady, into their animal ancestors.
Before the raven haired beauty could step forward to handle the threat, the unknown vigilante rammed the Foot Clan member into the trash, rendering him unconscious.
While he jogged in circles, celebrating his victory, April breathed a sigh of relief while Kagome stared out of curiosity.
"Thanks," April called out, grateful. When she had the attention of the hockey mask wearing male, she asked, "Who are you?"
He approached, his answer muttered and unintelligible.
"What?" April and Kagome questioned at the same time.
His response came out exactly the same.
April squinted her eyes, her expression colored with incredulousness and disbelief. "Stacy Moans?"
Kagome shook her head, a look of pity crossing her features. "That's an awful name," she said, completely serious.
Pulling his mask up, he repeated, "Casey Jones."
The way he smiled charmingly had April making googly-eyes at the handsome male. On the other hand, Kagome smiled in amusement at her new female friend.
When Casey made a move to step closer to the two young women, a Sai suddenly flew through the air and imbedded itself in a pole that was closest to Casey's face. The hockey player instantly jumped back, his body moving instinctively to a defensive stance. Automatically, he moved in front of the two females to block them from anymore attacks.
"Get away from them," Raph demanded. He and his brothers landed in front of the small group, all standing to their intimidating heights as they focused on the newcomer.
As Casey had a mental breakdown, April and Kagome exchanged amused glances. "Do not eat us," Casey said in a loud, slow voice. His hand gestures were equally hilarious as he continued, "We are not… food."
While Mikey had his fun messing with Casey by stating that he and his brothers eat humans dipped in ranch sauce, Kagome silently made her way to Donnie's side. The purple-wearing turtle easily smiled at her, liking her better by his side rather than 'being protected' by someone else, especially by another male. Maybe that was possessive of him, but he couldn't help it. For the longest time, Kagome had been considered strictly his. Now that her identity had been brought into the light, he didn't expect his feelings to change.
"I'm just kidding," Mikey said. Nonchalantly, he punched the Foot Clan member to render him unconscious once again. "I'm a vegan. Except for meat, cheese… and eggs."
Casey, holding his hockey stick up defensively, demanded to know, "Who or what are you?"
April stood in front of the turtles and Kagome, smiling. "These are my friends."
Incredulous, he asked, "Your-Your friends?"
"Yep."
Mikey happily introduced, "We have Donatello in the purple. He's our technical genius who is technically a genius." Donnie did a playful pose, and Kagome couldn't help giggling at his antics. "Then we have Raphael over there in the red. He's like a soft, cuddly teddy bear – if soft, cuddly teddy bears were incredibly violent." Raph flexed with an arrogant smirk on his face. "In the blue, we have Leonardo. Fearless leader. Silent but deadly." Leo nodded once in acknowledgement, crossing his arms over his chest. "And last but not least – I'm Michelangelo. I'm a triple threat: brains, brawn, and stunning good looks."
"Are you done?" Leo rhetorically inquired. He didn't allow Mikey to respond as he continued by glancing at the only two females in their presence. "April. Kagome. Sorry we're late. Mind walking me through what happened?"
As April started talking and showing Leo and Donnie the syringe she had managed to take from Baxter's lab, Kagome watched as Raph and Mikey continued to tease Casey. She had to softly laugh at the way Casey brandished his hockey stick in self-defense, though the brothers didn't appear at all threatened.
"Hey, Kagome," Donnie said, catching her attention. His focus was entirely on the syringe. "I think I have an idea that I want to run by you."
"Sure thing, Kame-san."

Donnie analyzed the string of codes that popped up on his computer screens as he ran multiple tests on the mutagen. Based on what he could see – and from what April and Kagome had witnessed – he could come to the most accurate conclusion:
If the mutagen could turn humans back into their animal ancestors… It could turn an animal into its human counterpart.
He and his brothers could be human. They wouldn't have to hide in the shadows anymore. They could walk among the other humans in the daylight without having them stare and judge and fear.
He could be out in the open with Kagome without consequence.
Kagome came to the same conclusion as Donnie as she stared at the code. Her gaze instantly turned to the purple-wearing turtle. "I like you just the way you are," she stated, knowing exactly what he was thinking. His intense stare on the mutagen spoke for itself. It worried her that Donnie would even consider such an option. "Donnie," she repeated, "I like you just the way you are."
Donnie tore his eyes away from the mutagen he cradled in his hand. He blinked behind his thick glasses, almost appearing childlike with wonder. "But we – But I could be human with this…"
"I would never ask you to change who – or what – you are."
"I know you wouldn't," he immediately responded. "But I still think this is something… incredible. I… I need to speak with Leo. I should tell him what we discovered, Kagome."
She nodded, smiling with acceptance. "Regardless of what you and your brothers choose, my feelings for you won't change," she said. She knew this was a family decision. It was life altering. It wasn't something that could be decided with a single conversation. Winking playfully, she added, "Besides, I still owe you a carrot cake. You know how to reach me if you need me for anything else."
Donnie smiled. "Thanks, Kagome."

After the plan to steal back the mutagen from police lockup was sabotaged thanks to the interference of the Foot Clan, Kagome sprinted through the hallways of Police Headquarters. She needed to get to the entrance as soon as possible. Raph and Mikey had decided to reveal themselves in order to stop the mutagen from leaving their clutches. In the ensuing chaos, and the untimely arrival of Leo and Donnie, the police officers held the four brothers at gunpoint.
"Stop, stop," April screamed desperately, trying to protect her childhood friends. Casey was right behind her, holding his hands up in surrender.
Kagome knew there was only one option left.
Eyes hardening with determination, her hands started to glow pink with her priestess powers. "Stop!" she shouted, blasting her energy forward to form a shield that protected the turtles.
"What the—" several cops started shouting in alarm, their guns coming up a little bit higher out of defense. "What is that?"
The turtles were stunned as well, frozen in their spots. Donnie was the first to move when Kagome stationed herself in front of them, standing firmly with April and Casey.
Police Chief Rebecca Vincent gave the group fearful looks. "What exactly are you?" she questioned, not expecting an actual answer.
Ignoring her, the raven haired beauty kept her eyes on the police officers surrounding them. "Get out of here," she ordered, her words directed at the turtles. "Get out of here now!"
"Not without you," Donnie retorted, keeping his voice low, but she could hear the underlying stress and desperation he was keeping hidden.
Kagome spared the purple-wearing turtle a reassuring glance over her shoulder. "Don't argue with me. We'll be fine. Just go."
Donnie would have argued further, but his brothers moved swiftly to escape the police headquarters. They dragged him along, his eyes unable to leave Kagome's form. His heart broke, knowing that leaving her behind was the hardest thing he had ever done.
When several officers started to pursue the four, Kagome flipped a wrist and blocked their path with another barrier. It effectively stopped them from their manhunt, and suddenly their entire focus was on her.
She smiled, the gesture predatory. "Sorry, but if you plan on getting to them, you'll have to go through me first," she sweetly said.
KHD*KHD*KHD
Upon being released from police custody and having the turtles do their meet-and-greet with the police and Police Chief Vincent, plans to stop Krang were swiftly executed and everyone was in motion with a job to do.
Kagome was no different, her feet quickly moving to follow April, Casey, and Vern to the muscle car to raid the Foot Clan's facility.
However, she was stopped by a hand gently taking possession of her arm. When she turned to question who had stopped her, she came face-to-face with a worried Donnie.
"What is it, Donnie?" she asked.
"Be careful out there," he said, shifting uncomfortably.
She smiled. "I will, and you do the same, okay?"
He nodded, letting a small smile form on his mouth. "Hey, you still owe me that carrot cake you keep mentioning too," he teasingly said.
"Let's make sure we have some when this is all over then," she replied, grinning.
"It's a date."

After their honorary ceremony at the Statue of Liberty, Donnie snuck away to visit a certain raven haired beauty that had been missing. He had only briefly seen her after Krang was defeated but she hadn't made an appearance since then. While he knew she could handle herself, especially after seeing her demonstration of power at the police station, he still worried about her wellbeing. He had heard from April that Kagome had assisted Casey in bringing down Bebop and Rocksteady. Having faced the two criminals himself, Donnie knew how difficult and dangerous that could be.
Realizing he couldn't just walk up to her front door and ring the doorbell, Donnie landed on her balcony with the full intent of sneaking in and locating her. He wasn't being creepy, he was being a concerned being. There was a difference.
Before he could locate a window to climb through, Kagome popped open the balcony door, smiling warmly at the purple-wearing turtle.
"Donnie," she greeted.
He nodded, feeling a little embarrassed at being caught so easily. As a ninja that had made the shadows his home, it was a new feeling being exposed like this. "Kagome," he greeted back.
"Come inside," she said, gesturing with a hand. "It wouldn't be proper to have someone with a key to the city to wait outside in the cold."
"Ah, you heard about that?" he asked, sheepish but curious. When he entered Kagome's penthouse, he quickly glanced around out of habit. The place was spacious, stylish, and warm. The objects he could see on the shelves were obviously trinkets that she had collected over the years, and he could see pieces of computer parts scattered in random places. And books. She had a lot of books. It was similar to his personal haven in the Turtle Lair.
Kagome gave a soft, mysterious laugh. "There isn't much that I don't know," she said.
Donnie was finally able to ask, "Who exactly are you?"
"If you have time, I just made some carrot cake. We can eat that while we talk," she offered.
He smiled. "I'd like that."
