Chapter 064: Sinbad

Kagome breathed in the ocean air, letting the salty breeze flirt and tangle her raven tresses. Even during her travels through the Warring States Era, it wasn't very often she and her group of friends had a chance to visit the beach, let alone enjoy a day off. Every day had been a fight for survival, one attack from an enemy after another.

She took in a second deep breath, a small smile curving her lips upward. Despite missing her friends – and missing her own family in Tokyo – she couldn't say she regretted being transported to this new dimension after Naraku was defeated. She'd had the opportunity to meet new friends, allies, and enemies. She had formed a new family of sorts. She was able to once again feel the thrill of a new adventure.

"Now all I need is a coconut," she muttered under her breath, amused.

A masculine voice, one she was growing more and more familiar with, spoke up. "That could be easily arranged, Lady Kagome."

The raven haired beauty turned to face the owner of the voice, smile widening as she caught sight of the purple haired King of Sindria. "Ah, Lord Sinbad," she greeted.

"Please, call me Sinbad." As usual, he had a casual, easygoing smile on his handsome features.

"Only if you call me Kagome," she bargained.

Sinbad nodded in agreement. "Very well."

"Not that I don't mind the company, but what are you doing out here?"

"I should be asking you that," he replied. "Aladdin and the other kids are looking for you." But he made no move to rush her along. He was honestly content to just stand there, soaking in her presence. Since the moment they had met, he couldn't get the priestess out of his mind. His eyes always seemed to follow her every movement.

He couldn't explain it. For so many years, his focus had been entirely on making sure Sindria prospered and grew. His first and foremost thoughts and strategies had always been on using others as a means to an end. For instance, Sinbad wanted Aladdin to be Sindria's strength. But Kagome… Kagome was different. She inspired emotions within him that he wasn't familiar with.

She made him think about finally having a Queen of Sindria.

"Then I should go join them," mentioned Queen candidate said, smiling with maternal affection at the thought of Aladdin, Morgiana, and Alibaba. "Let's go… Sinbad." A dash of pink dusted her cheeks and an embarrassed expression colored her features.

Sinbad rather liked that look and intended to see it as often as possible. With a smug grin, he grabbed one of her hands, lacing their fingers together. When her cheeks darkened to an attractive crimson color, he chuckled. "As you wish, Kagome. While we're at it, we'll also get you that coconut."
