"No."
Midorima felt his brow twitch at the single word, his only outward reaction to the denial. "What do you mean, 'no'?" he questioned in his sternest voice.
Kagome narrowed her amethyst eyes. "It means exactly what it sounds like, Shin," she retorted. "No means no." To add emphasis, she crossed her arms under her breasts. It was a decisive action, as was the shining determination in her gaze.
He pushed his glasses up the bridge of his nose with a bandaged finger. "You are being stubborn."
"Takes one to know one."
Releasing a sigh, he said, "It is only a piece of candy, Kagome." Really, she was being unreasonable. "I will buy you more."
Her lips pursed into a pout. "That's not the point, and you know that." Why did he have to be so hardheaded? "The point is: It's my last piece and I plan on eating it."
"But I need kiwi fruit gummy candy," Midorima argued back, frowning deeply. "My usual antique shop and all of the markets in this area do not have it currently in stock. My horoscope said—"
A crinkle of candy wrapper cut the green haired male off. His eyes widened in horror as he watched Kagome pop the circular sweet into her mouth. His mouth dropped open in shock as she made obnoxious chewing noises, her eyes gleaming with wicked delight at his reactions.
"What-What did you do…?" he stuttered.
Kagome raised her chin. "Like I said I would do. I ate it."
Midorima paled, dread overflowing through his veins so much that he felt dizzy. What would he do now? He couldn't… He couldn't function like this! Basketball practice will be a disaster. For as long as he could remember, he had always followed his daily horoscope. He was meticulous. He was borderline obsessed. Suddenly, he felt like his entire world was shifting off its axis.
The raven haired beauty raised a brow as she watched the taller male stagger on his feet, his eyes unfocused behind his glasses. Her eyes widened in alarm when he fell to his knees, her arms out and catching his almost-dead weight. Had he just—?
"Did you just pass out?" she exclaimed. When she didn't receive a response, she sighed and rolled her eyes. "Geez, all of this over a single piece of candy? You can be such a drama queen sometimes, Shin…"
In the next second, her eyes softened as she lowered Midorima to the ground, pillowing his head on her lap. Her fingers brushed through his bangs. "But you're my drama queen." From her skirt pocket, she pulled out a wrapped piece of kiwi fruit gummy candy and gently placed it within his palm. "Honestly," she huffed, "did you really think I would be so mean as to deny my own boyfriend with something I know is important?"
Leaning down, she pressed an affectionate kiss onto his forehead. "You owe me for this, Shin," she murmured softly with a teasing smile on her face. "And I plan to collect very soon~"

Prompt: Lucky item
~Extra Scene~
Kagome slid open the front door to her house, smiling in confusion upon who she found standing on her doorstep. "Shin," she greeted. "What are you doing here? I thought you would be with Takao."
Midorima pushed his glasses up the bridge of his nose, trying to hide his embarrassed expression. "Am I not allowed to walk my own girlfriend to school?" he retorted, defensive.
She released a bright laugh, one of the traits that had first caught his attention. "Of course you can," she said. She swung her backpack onto a shoulder. Closing the door behind her, she grabbed his hand and laced their fingers together. "Let's go!"
His eyes softened as he gazed at the raven haired beauty, letting her drag him along. His lips curved into a small smile.
"So, where's your lucky item for the day?"
Midorima paused. "It's you," he answered.
Kagome stopped walking to glance at him with confusion, her head cocked to the side cutely. "What does that mean?" she asked.
His cheeks flushed with a heated blush and he suddenly found it hard to look into her amethyst eyes. He coughed uncomfortably. "My lucky item for today… is you, Kagome."
"Cancer's Lucky Item for today: The person you love the most! Be sure to hold onto them tightly and never let go!"
