Midnight Craving Bakery
The first time he had entered the bakery, it was purely by chance. Gojo had just finished a mission and had wanted something sweet to eat. He'd been lured into the establishment by simply following his nose.
It was the cute bakery owner he'd met that day that kept him coming back for more. But Kagome Higurashi was more than just a cute, skilled baker. His Six Eyes could pick up the sheer amount of power housed within her petite frame, but it was a power he'd never come across before. It was pure. There hadn't been an ounce of cursed energy he could sense coming from her. It was unheard of.
It – and Kagome – made him curious. But the more he learned about her, the more Gojo became obsessed.
He found himself conflicted. If he managed to convince Kagome to assist him with changing the Jujutsu world, he wouldn't have access to her awesome baked goods. If she became a part of his world, the higher-ups would definitely catch notice of her and her mysterious powers. And because it was so rare, they would plot to exploit it any way they could. They may even go so far as to arrange a marriage between her and someone within the main clans, wishing for Kagome to give birth to more beings with similar powers to her own.
Gojo clenched his teeth until they threatened to crack under the pressure. There was no way he'd allow that to happen. He'd go back to his original plan of killing all of them, damn the consequences. So what if that wouldn't necessarily change things? He was trying to set a good example for his students and create a new Jujutsu world based on his ideals.
But a line had been drawn. He would never allow the greedy higher-ups to get their hands on Kagome, no matter what.
And there was absolutely no way she would marry anyone but him.
Gojo's darkening mood significantly brightened when he entered the now-familiar bakery. His sunglasses slid down the bridge of his nose, bright blue eyes scanning and connecting with amethyst orbs that belonged to the young woman in his thoughts.
"Ah, Satoru-san," Kagome greeted, smiling at the silver-haired sorcerer. "Back again, I see."
A charming grin curved his lips. "You know I can't stay away from you for long, Gome-chan," he said, playfully winking.
He was utterly charmed when an attractive pink blush dusted her cheeks. It was a good look on her – and one he planned on seeing as often as possible.
She waved away his words, though the blush and smile stayed on her angelic features. "Flattery won't get you anywhere," she teased. "So, what will you have today?"
Gojo perused the many delicacies behind the glass enclosure, humming thoughtfully. "I'll take everything from this row to this one," he answered, gesturing to all of the sweets he was indicating.
Used to his antics, Kagome didn't even blink as she started packaging his order. "I also just made a fresh batch of double caramel sticky buns. You interested?" she offered.
"If they're your buns, Gome-chan, of course I would be interested," he said, using his most serious tone. Then he grinned widely. "But yes, throw some in there too, please."
The raven-haired beauty rolled her eyes. "You're so shameless, Satoru-san."
He chuckled. "But I'm still your best – and most handsome – customer."
"You know," she thoughtfully said, "Nanami-san is also quite good-looking."
Gojo instantly pouted. "Since when does Nanami come here?" he fairly demanded to know. It was news to him. The ex-salaryman-turned-sorcerer didn't seem like the type to randomly wander into this part of town, let alone converse with a woman as cute as Kagome. Gojo had always figured Nanami was too stiff for that.
"He stops by a few times a week. He always orders the more savory bread options I make." Boxing the last item in Gojo's order, Kagome said, "Wait here for a second. I'll grab your sticky buns. They're in the back."
As soon as the raven-haired beauty was out of sight, Gojo scowled as he dug out his cell phone. His fingers started rapidly tapping out a long, scathing text message to Nanami. He huffed in satisfaction after hitting the Send button.
When his phone chimed with a response, he instantly opened it.
Stop wasting my time with your nonsense. Go do your job for once and don't bother me.
"Stupid Nanami," the silver-haired sorcerer grumbled. His fingers started tapping out a response. "He didn't say he would stop flirting with Gome-chan…"
