Chapter 1599 Teamwork
I don't own Bleach or any of the powers and gear used in this story.
Sota was at a room as he looks outside a window.
"Well my own team is getting better, but in terms of power were not that big against Draco's team. But we'll do the other one." He said.
He still remembers when he and the others went out before Antonio even joined.
Flashback
Sota was walking down the streets and he saw a street basketball court and he saw the other members of Team Light B there.
"Hey Sota, join us we can play four on four." Dusk said. Sota shrugs and goes inside.
"So, who is going to be team captains?" Kir asks.
"Sota should be one I think." Eric said.
"Okay, who's the other one." Sota said.
"How about Eric?" Dusk suggests.
"Okay, let's form teams." Eric said. Dusk pulls out a coin.
"Should we let Fate decide?" Dusk questions.
"Okay let's see who goes first." Sota said.
"I'll do." Ryuu said.
"Heads for Sota and Tails for Eric?" Dusk asks everyone. They nodded. Dusk flips the coin before catching it and slamming it on his other hand. He reveals it to be heads.
"Heads." Dusk said.
Sota shrugs and looks at them. "Lapis."
Lapis went to Sota's team.
"I'll take Yoshiro." Eric said. Yoshiro goes to his side.
"Ryuu." Sota picked. Ryuu went to her side.
"Meiko." Eric said. She hops to his side and they saw Dusk and Celosia as the final ones.
"Okay... Celosia." Sota said.
"Then I go to Eric. Oh yeah." Dusk takes out all of his spirits and hands them to Kir. "Just so I don't accidentally use their powers.
Sota's team goes to the side as his eyes glow for the zone showing he was ready.
"I'll be the ref!" Kir said. They team leaders went forward as the ball was thrown up. Sota gets it first. He tosses it at Lapis who goes forward. Yoshiro tries to steal the ball from him. He goes around before he passes it at Celosia.
"I'm a princess but okay." She goes forward with the ball. Dusk then gets in her way. She then throws it back as Sota grabs it and he goes forward. Eric tries to stop him but Sota passes around him as he kept going. Meiko tries to stop him next. But Sota dodges and dunks the ball.
"1 point to Sota's team!" Kir said. Sota goes back to his team and Ryuu said: "And that's how it's done."
"I just realized something. We never said the winning conditions." Dusk said.
"What do you mean?" Sota said.
"Like do we stop and break after a team gets ten baskets?" Dusk questions.
"I set a timer like a real game, pay attention dusk." Sota said.
"You did?" Dusk questions. He points to the side to show a watch.
"Oh. I guess I was busy removing my spirits and handing them to Kir to hold to notice." Dusk said.
"Pay attention."
"I have a lot of Spirits." Dusk said defending himself.
"In basketball you gotta pay attention or you'll lose." Sota said
"This is my first time playing." Dusk said.
"Then learn the rules before. Now you gotta learn through experience." He said.
"I did study the rules. Still my first time playing." Dusk said.
"Well let this be a lesson, teamwork is important." Sota said.
"I know that. But again I was busy removing my Spirits so I don't accidentally use their powers." Dusk said.
"We get it!" Ryuu got annoyed.
"Let's just continue." Eric said. They gave the ball to Eric as he passes at Dusk. Dusk catches it and dribbles it as he moves quickly.
Celosia moves in front. "Not gonna let you."
Dusk then passes it to Meiko.
"Gotta go." She moves forward. Then Lapis gets in her way. She moves around as he blocks at her, she then looks for anyone. She then sees Yoshiro was open. She passes it and he tries to get it but Sota steals it before going forward. Eric tries to stop him. But Sota dodges thanks to the Zone surprising him as Sota throws the ball landing on the target gaining two points.
"Again?" Yoshiro questions in surprise.
"Basketball is my life you guys." Sota frowns.
"True." Eric said.
"The Zone is the ability from this game. So I am already beyond you all." He said.
"Kinda unfair." Meiko said.
"What do you expect? You're all rookies and I'm the only one that knows the game." Sota frowns.
"True. Let's just continue." Dusk said.
"You gotta work together as a team." He said. Everyone nods.
"Teamwork is the most important thing, here or in battles." Sota said.
"Yeah it is." Meiko said. They kept going with both sides trying to score against each other.
Later in the game they become tied with 30 seconds left on the clock. Eric and Sota stared at each other.
"30 seconds left. This means either one of us will win in this half minute or it ends with a tie." Eric said cracking his neck a bit.

"Same." Eric said. The ball goes up. Both Eric and Sota jumps up to get it. Eric gets it first and throws it to his Team. Yoshiro gets it and dashes for the hoop. Lapis blocks him trying to make sure he doesn't pass. Yoshiro passes it to Meiko. She goes forward until Ryuu steals it from her.
"Hey!" Meiko said.
"Too bad!" Ryuu said. Dusk then steals it.
"King of Bandits!" Dusk said.
But then Celosia takes it. "And the princess reclaims it."
But Dusk quickly steals it back and tosses it to Eric. He then goes to get but Sota takes it right away. Eric goes after him. Sota and Eric went around as Eric tries to steal it while Sota was too fast. Eric tries to move faster.
"I am not going to lose!" Eric said. He backs Sota to the edge and he was going to fall but Sota throws the ball as it goes through the hoop.
"That was almost half the court!" Dusk said.
"No way!" Celosia shouts in surprise.
"I told you, in this game. I'm the best." He said. Dusk pulls out some water bottles and sports drinks from the Gates of Babylon.
"Who's wants something to drink?" Dusk asks. They each got one and drank the water.
"Really got to love the Gates of Babylon." Kir said as he also got something to drink.
"Well what was a good practice." Sota said.
"Yeah it was." Meiko said.
"Just remember teamwork is important even more when we're not as strong as the A team." Sota said. They all nod.
"So I guess we should go get cleaned up now." Kir said. They nodded before they went out together.
Flashback ends
"Teamwork is our best strenght." He said.
He then saw Nigredo looking at him from a corner.
"Oh hey." He said.
"Can we... Go out?" She asked.
He got confused before nodding and she drags him away.
At another spot
Theres a girl called Yumi and she works for a web design company. She's been having a hard time as her mother wants her to get married and quit her job not bothering with effort.
She was at her place and rubs her head. "Ugh, I hate when she does that."
She's stuck in the past and wants Yumi to become like her basically even trying to make her brother succeed while she couldn't study as a kid only focus on housework for her future. Her mother has a male chauvinism.
She's been doing the same to her sister in law Megumi who has her own way of thinking, the poor girl has to work and clean the house while Yumi's brother Takeru does nothing at home.
Yumi got a call from Megumi about the tradition and she needed her help because of what's happening.
"I gotta help her." She said.
Later
She went to the house and saw Takeru sitting on the couch as his wife Megumi cleans the place.
"Hey what are you doing?!" Yumi screams at her brother while holding a broom. "Get your butt up and clean too."
"What?!" He got surprised.
"What are you doing?!" Her mother yelled. "He's a man and its a woman's-"
"I'm really tired of that old view of hers. I'm not going to quit my job since I love my work." Yumi looks at her mother. "Also you've been saying I should get married, well I don't even like men."
"What?!" The mother shrieks.
The other two got surprised.
Then the door opened as Meiko came. "Hey there Yumi, sorry but you were taking too long."
"Sorry Meiko." Yumi said.
"Who are you?" Yumi's mother demands.
"I'm Meiko, Yumi's girlfriend." She smiles.
"What?!" Yumi's mother and brother shouts in shock.
"Did you expect me to follow your old views. Times have changed and I prefer women." Yumi said.
"What is wrong with you?! I did not raised you to be like this!" She shouts.
"You mean the whole girls should be in the kitchen mentality. Yet the husband doesn't help around the house, my brother is this close to getting a divorce because of that." She said.
"What?" Takeru questions.
He looks at his wife. "I have been considering it. You've done nothing to help me and if we get kids it will be impossible, as it feels like i'm raising a big child."
Takeru looks down at that.
"Y-you're right. I thought that what my mom said have been true but I was wrong." He said.
"Now that's better." Meiko said.
"I'm sorry Megumi." Takeru said.
She smiles hearing his words.
"Also what's with this old school way. What era are you stuck, your more sexist than men." Meiko told the mother.
"Shut up!" The Mother shouts as she tries to slap Meiko.
Meiko leans back and she misses.
"Oh so you don't like it when someone tells how it is. Your old views have died years ago and your just scared of being left in that old era. As that mindset doesn't even exist anymore as theres now full time house husbands while the women work. The world around us has moved on while fossils like you vanished. My mother raised me with love and didn't try to force ideals on to me and just asked that I live a happy life. But you don't care about that as you tried to hit me but let me tell you that hitting a stranger has grounds to get you arrested for assault as I said those that still cling to those ideals will be left behind as the rest of the world moves forward as theres many women that helped the world grow so no matter how much you try to deny it, it's the truth." Meiko grins.
"Mom I am cutting ties with you." Yumi said.
"Get out all of you!" The mother said.
"Who cares? We we're already leaving so don't make yourself more of a fool." Meiko said.
Yumi and Meiko head out and to Meiko's car while Yumi's brother and his wife leave in their car.
"Man what an old hag." Meiko said.
"Yeah. I have no idea why she is like this." Yumi said disgusted with her mother.
"She's living in the past Yumi, don't worry." Meiko gives her a Kiss.
Yumi smiles as she kisses back.
"Also... How about a little fun at home?" Meiko blushes.
Yumi blushes too before nodding in agreement.
They went to they're place while the brother tried to help his mom understand and she slowly did. Meiko still has to visit Cree later but she has time with all of her loves.
Note: Sota is trying to make team work be his team's greatest strenght since the A team has the best power, also the last scene is based on Refreshing Manga just with the difference of Yumi liking Meiko.
