Tobias entered the closet, shutting the door and sitting down next to her. He pat her. He gently pet her.
"I wonder what name I should give you. You don't look like a Skye, or Kirby. What's a girl name? The Elder Bunch hasn't needed to name a girl before..."
"A female name? Why has the Elder Bunch never had to do such a thing?"
"Raine? No, that doesn't fit either. I need something that's...you. But I can't chose what's you if I don't even know you. Can you even hear me?"
She nudged him.
"Huh? Does that mean you can hear me? You can understand me?"
She nudged him again.
He laughed a bit. "Oh, oh boy. You're alive. The elder was right, you are alive! Oh, but you lost your mask on the floor. Let me get that for you." He put it back on her.
Rex's voice called. "Tobias! We need to leave! Don't make me come back there!"
"I have to leave. I'll be back soon, I promise!"
She felt happy, hearing his happy tone return. He rushed away, his footfalls heavy and fast. Rex had been elder for about a month now, and Tobias was starting to slowly get his cheer back. The door creaked open just the slightest bit.
She looked, seeing a beam of light on the ground. She went to the light and forced the door open. She shut her eyes when the light hit her all at once, and slowly opened them again.
His room was huge, and the bright lights told her it was morning. She avoided the bed leg, and left out the other door. She traveled down the long hall, to a final door. That one was open a crack as well, and took a bit more effort to open than the others had.
For the first time in her life, she saw Tobias. He was tall, charming, and purple. He wore a golden mask, with gear that was a small armored chest piece, a black hood, shorts with a belt, and pointed shoes. Rex wore the same, but the hood was a light brown. She went to the back of their caravan, watching Tobias as the caravan moved onwards.
"Did you close the door?" Rex asked. "We don't want any other thief clans stealing stuff from us."
"Yes, I closed the door. Just get on with this! Where are we going now?"
Rex pulled out a map. "We're going to a cave just north from here. There's supposedly some treasure hidden there. And it'll be just our luck if we get to it first."
The caravan came to a stop, a thin dirt path leading deep into the thick woods. Rex hopped out, the dirt rising up from where he stepped. Tobias exited next.
"Rex, you should use those powers of yours to steal the treasure this time. We lost it last time because you didn't want to."
"If I recall correctly, I believe that was actually your fault? You're the one who let her get away."
"She made me drop my guard! But if you had used your magic powers, you would have been able to stop her, easy-peasy."
Rex smacked at Tobias in a slightly playful manner, in which Tobias returned it. They started fighting, smacking each other's arms away from each other. It ended when Tobias kicked up some dirt towards Rex.
Rex wiped the dirt from his face. "Alright, you win this time...But I'm beating you to the treasure!" He took off running.
Tobias gasped. "How dare you! We're in this together, remember? You can't run from me!"
He ran into the dark woods. She peeked through some cloths, feeling a bit scared and intimidated by these woods. She floated up from the cloths, exiting the caravan. She went into the woods after Tobias.
