Admiral Seven of Nine's Personal Log July 1, 2423

It's been a while since I have made an official log entry. Five years at this point. However, I have been tasked with a mission that I do not quite understand. I am currently on my way to the Beta Antares Ship Yards to take temporary command of a new starship that is being commissioned on July 28th, 2423. This will be a new class of starship, the Texas-class. The original Texas-class was a failed design from 2381 when Vice Admiral Les Buenamigo commissioned the design for an autonomous ship. The automation was found to have flaws and the whole Texas-class project was scrapped. For the past few years, this new Texas-class starship did not even have a class name, but was just known as "Project Dahj", named by one of the designers of the class, Dr. Soji Asha. "Project Dahj" was named for Dr. Asha's late sister, who was killed by Romulan assassins. The Advanced Starship Design Bureau assigned the Texas-class name to the new ships when the first ship of the line, the USS Charly Burke, was named. Ensign Charly Burke was a navigator aboard the Planetary Union starship USS Orville. She was lost in the line of duty while shutting down the power source for a massive weapon. Her sacrifice led to a machine race, known as the Kaylon, who were enemies of the Union, to become allies instead.

My mission is to bring the Charly Burke from Beta Antares to Spacedock in orbit of Earth, where she will be officially commissioned into service. Starfleet says this will be a routine mission and we shouldn't expect any problems, so naturally, I'm expecting everything to go wrong at once...
