"Almost done. Just a bit more alterations." A young man said while working in his basement. This young man is Aberham Maverick. Fair skin with short blonde hair and green eyes while being dressed in a simple blue T-shirt and jeans.

His invention was a real-life version of the type of VR gear used in the SAO anime. However, despite Aberham's intelligence, he couldn't replicate anime technology perfectly in the real world and the VR system looked to be some form of cage with a treadmill in the center of it along with a complex looking VR helmet and gloves that were suspended in the air via reinforced cables and wires.

Creating a device like this was a welcome distraction from the grim news that traveled across the globe. A.I.M Industries basically going worldwide thanks to stepping on the backbone of the Avenger's after the events of A-Day where the world not only lost Captain America, but also fell victim to the Inhuman virus that quickly soaked itself into the atmosphere and effected people worldwide.

Aberham is one of a handful of people online who think that A.I.M is up to no good and is lying about the treatment of Inhumans.

"Done." Aberham announced to himself with a smile after he finished working on the computer that was set up to the gaming device. The device itself wasn't too hard to build for Aberham thanks to no shortage of spare parts he found in the oddest places thanks to the A.I.M bots and how some Inhumans attacked them before they got captured or became victims of the Wild Dogs gang.

"Now, let's take this puppy out for a test drive." Aberham wasted no time in getting into the cell like device before he put on the helmet and gloves while the computer started running the game and sure enough, Aberham saw the world around him change into that of the videogame world itself.

A generic and free online fantasy MMORPG. Aberham looked around and saw that he was inside of a dark castle and that in his hands are a sword and shield respectively. He could actually feel the weight of the virtual weapon and shield as if they were real and not just virtual ones and zeros.

"This is amazing." Aberham quickly started playing the game with a smile on his face completely unaware of how fate was about to drastically change his life.

Two hours in, Aberham started to get a little exhausted mentally and physically from his games and made his way to a save point since this is usually the time that his online friends would start talking about the A.I.M conspiracies.

However, when Aberham was about to shut his game down a spark of purple electrical energy pulsed throughout every mechanical device in his home and delivered a viscos shock to Aberham, making him scream out in pain before he fell onto the treadmill and accidentally disconnecting his helmet and gloves from the machine while the electromagnetic charge still pulsed through the electronics.

"Son of a whore. What the hell was that?" Aberham asked in pain after about ten minutes of being knocked out from the initial shock, and when he took off his helmet and gloves, he noticed something strange.

His hands now had what looked like purple veins that were a stark contrast from his normal blood circulating veins that formerly covered his hands, and the veins traveled up the length of his arms and into his upper body. The physical VR gloves were scorched beyond repair and appearing in front of him was a bizarre videogame themed message that made him jump back against the cell wall and not only fall onto his behind a second time, but he also noticed that the purple game screen moved along with him.

[The Inhuman system has been generated due to your latent Inhuman genetics and the outside electrical power source that surged through your entire being via some form of Technopathy based power.

Under normal circumstances you would have died, but again. Your Inhuman genes prevented that and converted the life ending power surge into a superpower.

More can be explained later by viewing your Codex.]

"Am I having some kind of fever dream?" Aberham asked himself before he saw the screen vanish. He quickly left the machine and headed upstairs to drink some water before he suddenly heard some strange noises outside. "No…That can't possibly be right."

Aberham might be a bit superstitious or paranoid at times, but he refused to believe that the hallucination was telling the truth, so he carefully stepped out of his house and not only saw that it was nighttime, but he also saw several A.I.M units walking and flying towards his house.

"Freeze Inhuman! Comply with orders and do not resist!" One of the Synthoids ordered. Aberham's heart sank into his stomach before realizing that the robots had started to run towards him, making him quickly run away.

"No, this can't be happening! How did they even know that I'm Inhuman?!" Aberham screamed at himself while running through the streets of New Jersey.

His home was all he had left after his parents died and he was left alone. He worked hard at his part time job and in his classes at school to try and become an engineer. He couldn't have this happen to him now that he was finally close to doing something worthwhile in his life.

Aberham didn't know how long he ran or how many turns and dodges he had to do in order to avoid getting captured by the robots that seemed to be taking over the entire place before he ended up in some warehouse where he quickly barricaded the door behind him and tried looking around for anything that could help him before placing his hands on his knees and taking some deep breaths due to the level of exhaustion he felt.

[Fatigue: 100/100!

Exhausted Debuff Activated!

Duration: 30 Minutes!]

The message flashed to life in front of Aberham who practically felt a vein about to burst in his head from aggravation before some strange influence had forcibly calmed him down and allowed him to carefully think about what he could do.

"I don't have much time before they find me. My home is basically a lost cause, but I have my wallet and phone in my pockets." Aberham said before he took out his cell phone before cutting it on and seeing that his phone screen was covered in rolling text of ones and zeros with a black background. "Shit." Aberham quickly dropped the phone and stepped on it with all the strength he could muster and managed to break the phone screen and stop the images.

"I don't know what the fuck is going on, but if that isn't some kind of super hack on my phone, I don't know what is. It's no wonder they found me so fast, but how the hell did they think that I was an Inhuman? Even taking my new appearance out of the equation, I didn't do anything other than explore websites and build shit after school and work." Aberham said to himself before realization had struck him.

"The conspiracy website. A.I.M must be taking down anyone on the site." Aberham said before he noticed a new screen appear in front of him.

[Due to a logical line of thinking, you've gained 1 INT!]

"…You're mocking me." Aberham bluntly replied to the hallucination before he found a slightly broken mirror leaning against a wall, which allowed him to see his reflection.

The purple veins did in fact reach throughout his entire body, but they weren't as thick and noticeable compared to the veins covering his hands and wrists. The issue is that the veins also appeared on his face almost in a spiderweb like design that seemed to start from his scalp and spread outwards over his face and no doubt behind his head and the left and right sides of it. His eyes had also changed from green to purple as well, but the strangest thing was the information he saw floating above his head.

Aberham Maverick, Level: 3

Inhuman Gamer

"No time to question my sanity now." Aberham scolded himself before he picked up a large bat sized metal rod when he heard the robots starting to break down the windows and doors to get in. However, he also noticed a girl falling through the glass ceiling and landing on one of the stacks of boxes.

"Ow." The girl groaned in pain before she quickly hopped to her feet.

"Are you ok?" Aberham asked with slight worry before moving closer to the girl at the same moment that the robots had started to enter the building. "Aw shit."

The girl glanced over at Aberham before springing into action and using her powers which Aberham was confused about. Her arm stretched in length and size as a giant fist punched an A.I.M drone into the wall and crushed it.

"Halt Inhumans!" A synthoid ordered before he and a few others charged at Aberham and the girl.

Aberham was exhausted but he still fought back and swung his weapon as hard as he could into one of the synthoids which knocked it back a bit before Aberham started swinging it at the other robots that started to surround them.

[New Skill!

Name: Blunt Weapon Mastery

Level: 1 [14.55%]

You have learned how to use blunt weapons in a fight. You now deal 2% more Force damage.]

After choosing to ignore the hallucination again, Aberham did notice that each time the skill leveled up, he got better and better at handling the metal rod in his hands. And that confused him to the point of wondering if there was any substance to this ridiculous thought that he had powers and that somehow, they seemed to be videogame related.

[You have leveled up! Level: 3-4! You have gained 10 Attribute Points!

Due to your level up, your 'Exhausted' Debuff has been removed and you've fully recovered your HP and SP!]

"No way." Aberham said to himself in total shock before dropping his now broken iron rod while gazing at his hands and body to see that the bruises he had gotten from fighting the robots had vanished.

"Are you ok?" The girl asked before walking up to him, which allowed him a moment to see the information above the girl's head.

Kamala Khan, Level: 11

Ms. Marvel

"I'm fine, but there's no way that A.I.M is just going to ignore the fact that we beat up a bunch of those robots." Aberham said with a heavy breath. "Actually, I beat up the weak ones while you beat up the tough ones, so I'd say you'd be in more trouble than me."

"That's a weird way to say thanks for helping you to not get kidnapped by killer robots."

"Fair." Aberham admitted before picking up an old tarp. "My…Mutations will be hard to hide, but this should help." Aberham said before fashioning a makeshift cloak to conceal his body while having a hood over his face to help hide his new features. "A little too big, but I'll manage. So, do you have any way of getting out of the city, since it's swarming with A.I.M bots that will try to kill us on site?"

"I know about a bus we can take." Kamala said a bit sheepishly before the two of them formed an alliance and agreed to leave the city together in order to find the Inhuman resistance and have a shot at telling the world the truth about A.I.M and how they truly 'help' people.

Apparently, Kamala had a flash drive showing that George Tarleton lied about what happened on the Hellicarrier and that the Avenger's had been set up.

"Maybe I can come back home when A.I.M is taken down." Aberham whispered to himself sadly as he thought about leaving his parents' graves behind before he got on the bus out of Jersey with his new friend.

END!

A/N: Okay, I love the Avengers game despite its flaws, and I want to make a Gamer story based in this very moldable universe. Also, notice that the game powers are slightly different in this story, and that our Main Protagonist is going through a bit of a rough time.

Stay turned for the next chapter of Inhuman Gamer. Also, remember to fav, follow and review.
