Chapter: 8
Naruto, Yoshimura and Yomo were in a black SUV driving around Tokyo from Ward to Ward. They were currently traveling to the 6th Ward, that's where the last place Naruto saw his whole team.
"Naruto, who is the first recruit?" Yoshimura asked, the redhead turned sideways in his chair in the back seat.
"Gaara, or Mr. One. He has a rinkaku kagune that resembles a large tanuki tail." Naruto said, and Yoshimura nodded, fixing his hat.
"Yomo, take us to this 'Mr. One', from what Naruto spoke of him, I'd like to meet him." Yoshimura said, opening his eyes to see the long road ahead of him. "Judging from the roads, we'll be a while if we take this route. Get some sleep, Naruto."
Heeding his advice, Naruto put his seat back and laid down flat.
"Sir. What is this Bijuu squad? I know Naruto gave me the nutshell version. But what is it exactly." Renji asked.
"Long ago when Naruto was only 16, I requested him to put a group of ghouls together." He told the driver who took a second to glance at Naruto through the rear-view mirror. He saw a 16 year old version of Naruto looking back at him.
"Why?"
Yoshimura smiled. "Because, it's always better to have two friends than one," he said, "But sometimes things call for drastic measures." Yoshimura said.
Flashback
A 16 year old Naruto laid across the counter of the coffee shop. Yoshimura was cleaning glasses while Irimi and Koma were busting tables. Touka was sitting next to Naruto, resting her head on his shoulder and had her hand intertwined with his.
"Naruto, if you won't go to school, then I have another task for you." Yoshimura said, Naruto took off his hood before glaring at the ghoul, he still had his blonde hair.
"You're asking too much of me, old man. What is it?" Naruto asked.
"There's several other one eyed ghouls across the other 20 wards. Seven in total, I want you to befriend them and try to bring them over to Anteiku for a new start in life." He said. Yoshimura required this information through his friend.
"They anything like me?" he asked, and Yoshimura nodded, "Then what makes you think that'd listen to me, I wouldn't even do that."
"You have your way with words, my boy. You've changed my mind before, and even Yomo. You can do it again." Yoshimura said, and the blonde sighed. He stood up, and cracked his back before rubbing his hands together.
"Fine, where do I start?"
"The 4th Ward, I have a friend there that will help you, his name is Roshi."
Flashback end
Yomo nodded at the story behind their new mission.
"But why have I not met them?" Yomo asked curiously while flicking his indicator on and turning left into a dimly lit street.
"Even if Naruto is good with his words, he still couldn't convince them to change their minds about moving to the 20th Ward." Yoshimura said.
Yomo remembered a time when he worked at Anteiku, Naruto took some time off work and popped into the shop every now and then, but that would be brief. "Was that why he was on and off?" Yomo asked while parking in a park, they arrived in the 1st Ward. They had to start at the first and slowly make their ways up, one at a time.
"Yes, it took a few months to band all the ghouls together, but Naruto did it. I'm proud of him." Yoshimura smiled.
"So the Bijuu squad to a band of ghouls deprived of one eyed ghouls?" Yomo said, and the manager of Anteiku nodded.
"Me and my good friend Roshi had a vision where ghouls and humans could come together and live in peace, and in order to begin we'd have to collect the one eyed ghouls and make them join our cause. But as you can see, not everything goes our way, Yomo. We met dead ends many times, but I finally believe we can do it." Yoshimura said, he got a flashback of Naruto's proclamation to break the cycle of hatred between ghouls and humans.
He then stepped out of the car with Yomo. "Don't you think we should wake up, Naruto?"
"Oh, he'll wake up on his own time. Let him rest, we can handle a little bit of rough housing." He smirked. He and Yomo walked through the foggy park, it looked abandoned but the light lamp still worked.
There was a person perched on it. Yoshimura and Yomo smelled the figure and looked up, but found that they were looking at nothing but clouds. Yoshimura and Yomo stood back to back, Yomo putting his mask on while Yoshimura took his hands out of his pocket.
"Stay on guard, Yomo. If he is who I think he is, then he is a nimble one." Yoshimura said. They heard clicking noises, the taps of someone's tongue, they sounded irritated.
"Come out!" Yomo exclaimed.
A figure then appeared in front of them with his arms crossed. He wore a red leather trench coat, grey pants and black sandals. He had short red hair and a tattoo on his head.
"I am Gaara Sabaku." the redhead said before he got on guard after he picked up a scent. "I smell Naruto Uzumaki on your clothes. But I don't see him with you." Gaara's left eye turned red before a thick sandy colored tail with black patterns tore through his tailbone.
Yoshimura smiled and took a step forward, he was then sent back by Gaara's tail strike.
The redhead sent his kagune at the old man, the tip split open before taking Yoshimura inside. He then clenched his fist and his kagune suddenly quenched shut and body poured underneath his rinkaku, signifying that he killed that man.
Gaara turned around and blocked a kick from Yomo, and a sand kakuhou pierced out of the ground.
Yomo was quick to react, he leaned back and kicked off the kakuhou, it seems that Gaara could detach his kagune and plant traps.
"You know, you shouldn't underestimate your opponent, even if he's an old man."
Gaara's attention was pulled back to where he crushed Yoshimura, his kagune looked three times bigger.
It was then cut into numerous pieces, what Gaara saw frightened him and forced him to his knees.
A 9 foot monster of incredible mass stood in front of Gaara. He had two kakuhou arms over his shoulders, six spikes on his upper and lower back and a mask that had a glowing red eye.
"You- you're t-the Owl." Gaara stammered out, and fell back when Yoshimura took a step forward.
"Yes, I am the first Owl. I'm Yoshimura." Yoshimura said, he then walked towards Gaara, the closer he got the more his kakuja seeped back into his body. The kind smile Yoshimura offered him put his nerves at ease.
"Come with me, young man. From what Naruto tells me about you, you are a very peaceful man until it comes down to it." he said and held his hand out for Gaara to take, "He made this offer to you, but I'm here to make it now. Come with us to Anteiku, we can protect you and you can have a family, a home to love." He said.
Gaara took the hand, he felt obligated to do so.
"A home?"
"We are all ghouls, we need to look out for each other. It's our policy." Yoshimura said.
After resolving everything, Yomo, Yoshimura and Gaara walked towards their SUV. Entering the car, they saw Naruto on his gaming console playing video games, he paused his game to greet Gaara.
"Hey Gaara, you accepted the offer?" He said, and shook his fellow redhead's hand. Gaara was surprised by his best friend's hair.
"Naruto, your hair. It's red." Gaara said and touched his own hair. Naruto waved him off, and got back to playing his game.
"Oh yeah, I reached a breakthrough in my power. It changed my hair from blonde to red, pretty ironic if you ask me." Naruto said, he was talking about his parents.
Gaara nodded and scooted closer to Naruto, he felt that he'll be sitting in the middle for a while.
"Where to next, Naruto?" Yoshimura asked.
"Gaara, you heard from Yugito?" Naruto asked, the info he heard was that she and Bee were captured and in Cocleah.
"She's dead, her, Utakata, Bee, and Roshi were killed by a rival organization." Gaara said, and looked down.
Yoshimura put his head down for his fallen friend, he would've loved to have a cup of coffee with his friend Roshi.
"What about Han?" Naruto asked his friend who shrugged. Naruto truly missed his friend that he saw as more of an older brother, similar to Uta.
Flashback
Naruto, Gaara, a girl their age, a younger boy with green hair, and a man that stood well over 7 feet were underneath a bridge sparring.
An older man with red hair, a moustache and beard which tapered off to a point was spectating the spar between Naruto and Han.
"Begin!"
Naruto started by sprinting towards the 32 year old and throwing a jumping hook kick that was blocked.
Han tried using his superior strength to crush the blonde, but Naruto used his witty mind and agility to even the battle.
Naruto dodged to the left, right, before ducking low, evading a roundhouse and retaliating with a sweep that knocked Han over. The blonde then tried crushing Han's head by stomping, but Han rolled over and over before jumping up and gaining distance.
Han jumped into a low stance, a wrestler's beginning stance and waited for the signal.
"Now!" Roshi commanded, that was the signal that allowed them to activate their kagune. He is the SSS-rated ghoul, Son-Goku. He had a four tailed bikaku kagune that had squid sickles on the underside.
Han's right eye turned red, and a ukaku kakuhou protruded from his back, miniature projectiles popping out of the kakuhou.
Han started his attack launching the missile-like projectiles that exploded on impact, he could use six each round.
Naruto dodged the projectiles, he cartwheeled away before he sent his tail towards Han.
Han ducked low, reloading his kagune before firing several more shots. Naruto jumped back, dodging each one.
He then made a clear line for Han, but his opponent was ready. The blonde stepped side-to-side, cartwheeling out of the way, sending his kagune at him once more.
"Han, use your tails and Naruto, use three! Go!" Roshi ordered.
Nodding, Han then protruded four tails from his tailbone that acted as his defence. Naruto grinned at this and two more tails ripped through his tailbone, his kagune then took on more of a reddish hue, signifying that he was getting more and more unstable.
"Naruto, calm down. It's just a sparring exercise."
Naruto nodded, and inhaled before exhaling. The blonde went on the offence, running on his hands and feet like a fox.
The blonde jumped over the missiles sent, and sent an attack of his own. Han dodged to the side, the tail cutting his cheek and he sent one of his tails, it also cut a midair Naruto.
Both friends grinned.
Flashback end
Yoshimura nodded. "So, this Han person. He's like Kaneki?" Asked Yoshimura, and Naruto nodded.
"He was originally a human, but poking and prodding made him spill his secrets. He was sick, and he needed an antidote." Naruto said, and Yoshimura leaned back.
"Roshi did it, ay?" the old man said before looking through the rear-view mirror. "Roshi really turned him?"
"Yeah, humans have low RC cells, and Roshi just awakened them. With some help from Doctor-Kano, Han became the first artificial one-eyed ghoul. That's why he can't eat regular food like me or Gaara." said the blonde. Gaara was eating a chocolate bar off to the side. "So that checks off the 2nd Ward, 4th Ward, 6th Ward and the 8th Ward off our list."
"So that leaves us with the 3rd Ward, 5th and the 7th Ward. Fuu…" Gaara said, he looked off to the side, imagining his friend.
"Damn, they're picking us apart." the redhead, he then cracked his neck. "Don't even get me started on Yagura." Naruto said, and rubbed his temples. Yoshimura heard the implication in the redhead's voice and smiled.
"So, this Yagura. Tell me about him." Yoshimura asked.
"He's a pain in the ass, and I don't like him!" Naruto crossed his arms and looked away.
"I see." Yoshimura said. "Any particular reason?"
"The guy wanted us to invade the CCG HQ. He thought we were strong enough to take on the likes of Arima, Mado, Houji and other top investigators." the redhead said before going back to his PSP, he was playing COD Ghost. "Then me and him had a fallout, that's how I got this bad boy."
Naruto unbuttoned his coat, pulled his collar down to show a giant scar that went down his neck and stopped at his collarbone.
Yoshimura and Yomo used the mirrors to see the scar.
"He didn't go unscathed though." Naruto said. He'd given Yagura a slash across his left eye with his quinque, it left a scar. Naruto was looking out of the window gazing at the cloud sky and blistering waters below.
Timeskip
Kitsune arrived in the 3rd Ward, it was just him. He knew this time would come, and it was he who should resolve it and bring Yagura home.
The redhead walked around the abandoned cities that had no human life. He wore his mask and released his bikaku tail and walked down the streets. Each step he took, he left bloody footprints.
The redhead calmly walked past the alleyways that had ghouls feasting on ghouls.
Turning around, he threw his hand out and it pushed a hole through a ghouls body, their koukaku kagune was aimed for his head but he dodged in time.
"Who are you?" Kitsune asked, and the ghoul croaked before his kagune disappeared. Kitsune dropped him, and cleaned his hand with the ghouls jacket. 'That's a nice jacket.' he thought as he looked at the red leather jacket.
Looking around he discarded his coat before taking the ghouls red, old school jacket. "Very nice." Naruto then put his trench coat over the jacket and walked away.
"You're a long way from home, Naruto!" a voice spoke, the redhead looked around for a little. "Over here!" The voice spoke again, and Naruto looked around some more.
He then looked downwards at the figure. He was about 4'6, had green hair that spiked to a point and a diagonal scar on his left eye; they were pink. He wore a green and grey garb with a grey club on his back with uneven length hooks and a lime flower.
"Damn, you haven't grown at all." Naruto said, moving his mask to rest on his temple. The boy was the SS-rated Sanbi, or his given name; Yagura Karatachi.
Yagura clicked his teeth before asking the question on why Naruto was in his Ward. "Isn't the 3rd Ward a little bit dirty for a princess like you?" Yagura taunted, Naruto and grew a tick mark.
"It wasn't only your height that didn't change, it seems you still have the attitude of a child." the redhead taunted back. Yagura swung his club for Naruto's head.
"This childs about to kick your ass." He said, he swung the club once again.
"We'll see." Naruto dodged, but Yagura stuck the club in the ground before throwing his body around to knock the redhead back into a lamp post.
Yagura released a battle cry and slammed the club down, but it was blocked by Naruto's bikaku before another tail shot out and knocked the quinque out of the boy's grasp.
Naruto then released two more tails that made to ensnare Yagura midair, but he disappeared. He crept up out of Naruto's shadow and released his own kagune to stab Naruto from behind.
Naruto grew a smirk as he dodged the attack. "You can use the shell too." Naruto stated.
Yagura's kagune has three shrimp-like tails and an additional ukaku kakuhou on his upper back in the shape of a crab shell with multiple spikes. Yagura was currently entering his kakuja stage, a mask began forming over the upper half of his face and his skin started peeling off, showing his flesh.
"Yes, I see you can use more than three tails." Yagura taunted, all of his skin peeled off, revealing a makeshift suit.
A red kagune armor covered Yagura's body with gray spiked plates over his body; shoulders, arms, legs, and the crab shell over his back. He resembled a giant four legged crab-turtle with shrimp tails.
Isobu's tailed beast form, but smaller
Naruto grinned and he increased Rc-cell load. His tan skin began losing its color, the color itself burnt off his body, creating a red aura before sticking to his body. Animal ears formed on his head and claws protruded from his hands and feet.
He looked like a fox.
Naruto's version 2 cloak
Kitsune and Sanbi glared at each other, and growls came from their mouths.
Sanbi shot ukaku shards at Naruto who blurred away, stepping from side-to-side and shoulder rammed Sanbi away before using his tail to grab the ghoul and hurl him into the wall.
Kitsune roared loudly.
The fight continued between the two friends.
Time Later
Yoshimura, Gaara, and Yomo heard laughter approaching the car and saw a wounded Yagura and Naruto.
Yoshimura looked at Gaara and smiled, "I told you that they'd resolve their issues." he said before greeting the two. "Hello, Naruto. And you must be Yagura Karatachi, it's a pleasure to meet you." Yoshimura offered his hand for Yagura to shake.
Yagura took his hand and shook it politely. "It's an honor to meet you, Mr. Owl. Roshi told me many tales of you in your golden days." Yagura said, and Naruto gawked at his politeness.
"Suck up." Naruto said and hopped in the SUV. Once they were all in the car, Yomo looked at Naruto in the mirror.
"Where to now?"
Naruto thought for a second, and came up with the next Ward. "The 7th Ward, Han is strong enough to survive for a little while longer." Naruto said, and Yomo started the engine to the car, and used his hand signal and turned right onto the main road.
"Road trip!" Naruto exclaimed, he was sitting in the middle with Gaara on his right and Yagura on his left.
Chapter: 8 End
This one wasn't my first draft, and it definitely wasn't my favourite, but I wanted to make more room for things to be explored.
Yeah, so the Bijuu's kakuja forms are their tailed beast forms in canon. Except the jinchuriki who have more tails, they will have more stages to their kakuja. It'll change for the members like Fuu and Naruto.
Yeah, Naruto is definitely the strongest ghoul currently, stronger than Riza and stronger than Eto, and for sure hella stronger than that fuck boy Furuta, I know he ain't a ghoul yet but come on, he pissed me off.
I'm not going to go into detail with the other members of the Bijuu squad like Roshi and that. I don't want to take light away from Naruto.
The sneak peek from the last chapter is going to be moved to the next chapter, I didn't think that I wouldn't be able to fit Fuu in this, but she can just be moved to the next chapter with Han.
Oh yeah, I was wondering if you guys would like me to make the Akatsuki a branch of CCG investigators that went rogue against the cause?
