Chapter: 9

Anteiku

Touka and Kaneki were serving some people coffee and their sandwich delights consisting of ham, cheese and lettuce. Naruto was always the best at making it because he could actually eat it, being an authentic one-eyed ghoul had its perks.

Kaneki brought two trays, one with coffee and one with sandwiches to a group of ladies. They thanked him and Kaneki blushed, he'd never gotten compliments or attention from the opposite gender, it was a good feeling.

Touka was around the counter making coffee while Nishiki was wiping tables, he had the morning shift and was just finishing up. Naruto had been gone for about a day now, and she already missed him. There was something she wanted to tell him, it was about the death of Kureo Mado.

Using the staff leave as cover, Kaneki and Touka attacked Mado and Amon, the latter taking a beating but came out on top. On the other hand, she was saved by Hinemi, she knew from their first encounter that Mado was too much for her, even she could admit that, but she was the one that was alive.

She did remember after the murder of what Naruto said about showing empathy towards ghouls and humans, it wasn't just ghouls that were affected.

The reason why it was just her and Kaneki on shift, Koma and Irimi were out. They called in sick so they were working over time. Irimi promised to cover for Touka another time, same for Koma to Kaneki, but Touka and Kaneki waved them off .

Then four people came in. The three wore tracksuits, one red, one blue, and one purple. They all had on masks, the fourth man didn't have a colored suit, just a white and yellow jacket and blonde hair.

"Evening sir, is there something I can help you with?" Kaneki asked, the man looked around the shop for a little before nodding.

"Is your manager here?" he asked, and when Kaneki told him he was gone the man grew angered. "Wanna tell me where he went, buddy?" He asked and grabbed Kaneki's collar.

"Leave him alone, you brute. If you're gonna start some shit order some coffee." Touka said, and the man grew a tick mark and was about to rebuttal.

"Wait… this-" He then sniffed the air, and it gave off a familiar scent. "You smell like Naruto." he said and grew a smile, he grabbed Touka and shook her. "Where is he? I could really use his help right about now!"

The bodyguards pulled the man off. "Banjo, calm yourself." A feminine voice said. "

"Sorry about him, he really needs information about Rize Kamishiro, and Naruto was a big inspiration on Banjo here." The man in blue said, Kaneki then understood, he was too touched by Naruto's kindness and inspired to be like him some day, to have that strength to protect.

"Well, you see. Naruto and the manager are on leave to recruit other workers for Anteiku." Kaneki said and they dropped their heads.

After fetching Banjo a cup of coffee, they sat on a table near the window.

"If you'd like, I could relay a message to my manager for you." Kaneki offered, and Touka raised his hand.

"I'll take the liberty of giving Naruto a letter or message." She said cooly and Banjo took a sip of the coffee.

"No, its fine. I'll just ask the two of you instead, Naruto wasn't much of a fan when it came to Rize." Banjo said, and Kaneki heard the name before immediately freezing.

"What makes you think she's here?" Touka asked, eager for information.

"She loved books and coffee, this cute shop might've piqued her interest." Banjo theorized, and Touka leaned back while Kaneki leaned forward. "And when she left the 11th Ward she mentioned something about coffee shops and the 20th Ward."

Banjo couldn't smell it due to Naruto's strong scent countering Kaneki's but when he leaned forward, oh Banjo caught it. He sniffed a few times before smelling his wrist, finding the scents similar.

He lunged forward, grabbing Kaneki and bringing him closer. "Wanna tell me why you smell like Rize!?" Banjo exclaimed before Touka tried de-escalating the situation.

"Hey! No fighting in the shop!" She shouted, they ignored her.

"Are you the lucky bastard that's with Rize?" Banjo asked, he was close to tears. Kaneki waved him off, but phrased it wrong.

"We're not together, but you could say we're kinda close." he said, and Banjo blew a fuse.

He rained blow after blow down on Kaneki who dodged each one easily.

"You've got it all wrong! Back off!" Kaneki threw an uppercut that snapped Banjo's head back, and knocked him out.

"Banjo!"

7th Ward

The Bijuu were in the 7th Ward looking for Fuu. Yoshimura insisted that they find her as a team.

"We'll split up, we'll be able to cover more ground." Yagura said, and Naruto comically spun towards him.

"Umm, and who put you in charge?" Naruto asked, and Yagura took a step forward.

"Me."

"Well guess what, squirt, I'm in charge. I say we split up." Naruto said, and Gaara rolled his eyes while Yagura blew a fuse and stomped in one direction.

It started raining, and that made it worse since the rain dulls the ghouls' senses, but they were half-ghouls, so they were a little more "resistant" to the rain.

"Shit, let's hope my sense of smell is as good as my blood." Naruto said, and crept around the 7th Ward for any signs of green hair or orange eyes.

He revealed his kagune when he heard the chime of ukaku shards being sent his way. He deflected them before sending his kagune to the attackers location but saw them fly away. Naruto was in a quick pursuit.

He quickly scaled the building. "Wait!" Naruto sprinted after the runner, dodging shards when sent his way. The attacker then jumped on the ground, and ran into an alleyway. The redhead cautiously landed back on the ground, and made his way towards the alleyway.

Naruto stepped into an alley as he saw the ghoul run in. He walked down the dark hall, running his hand over the wall to his right before he smelt a shift in the air.

Naruto turned around, caught a punch before grabbing the attacker by the neck and slamming them into the nearby wall. He then dragged them across the wall and threw them into a dumpster, and hovered over them.

"Give me a reason I shouldn't eat you, right now." Naruto asked, and watched the ghoul clutch their chest. The ghoul blurred away.

Naruto concluded they were at least SS-rated to move that fast from a prone position like that. Naruto punched forward, hitting the person's stomach before he knocked their head back with an uppercut before slamming them down with his forearm.

"This is not a fight."

He kicked the kids stomach, lifting them in the air, and grabbed the ghouls neck. He raised them up before his kagune slithered up his body before the tip formed into a fist. "Tell me why I shouldn't kill you." Naruto said and heard the ghoul gasping.

The ghoul pulled their hood down, showing tan skin, mint colored hair, an orange hairpin and an orange left eye while her right one was a kakugan. "I could prove to be useful!" she said with a bright grin, saliva now dripping down her chin.

"Fuu…" Naruto whispered.

"Can you let go boss?" She gasped. Naruto dropped her before he pulled her into a tight hug. Fuu cried into his chest, and wrapped her arms around him.

"I thought you were killed too…" Naruto said, and Fuu shook her head.

"I'm still here…" Fuu whispered.

Pulling back, Naruto examined her. She was 5'4, she wore a white crop top hoodie with a fishnet shirt underneath it. She wore a white skirt with black tights underneath and green shoes. She had a red bag on her back. "...You're so big!" Naruto laughed and ruffled her hair.

"What are you doing here?" Fuu asked excitedly, and hoped he came for her. Naruto put his hand on her shoulder.

"I'm putting the team back together, Anteiku needs reinforcements. The Bijuu is the necessary firepower we need to protect the 20th Ward from the incoming attacks on Anteiku." Naruto said, and Fuu looked down.

"So, you only looked for me to make this offer again?" She asked sadly, and Naruto nodded.

"Not only that, but I want you to come to Anteiku with me. I've already got Gaara, and Yagura. We just need you and Han." Naruto said, and Fuu looked up.

"What's Anteiku like?"

Fuu Mutsuki, at a young age she was forced to flee her home because of her half-ghoul status. Her mother was mortified to find out she birthed a ghoul, and Fuu's "father" was also confused, he wasn't a ghoul either. That meant Fuu's mother had an affair, and tried sneaking away with that information.

Fuu fled with little things, her bag, a plush toy, a picture of her and her little sister and her hair pin, and a couple bucks to get her a bus ticket to the 11th Ward where she met Naruto, Gaara, Roshi and Yagura.

"Peaceful. Come with us, come with me." Naruto said, and held his hand out for Fuu to take.

Anteiku

Banjo was sprawled out on the floor with a blanket over his body. His subordinates were on either side of him, tending to him.

He suddenly sat up with a cough, and Kaneki came over with a cup of water.

"I'm sorry about hitting you. Here's some water." Kaneki offered it to him, to which Banjo took and drank.

"Thanks. You know, you're a lot tougher than you look." Banjo said, and Kaneki blushed in embarrassment and scratched his cheek.

"Thanks."

"What's your name?" Banjo asked, and Kaneki held his hand out.

"I'm Ken Kaneki. Nice to be acquainted." Kaneki said with an eye smile. Banjo shook his hand, and found the ravenettes hands were rougher than his exterior.

"I understand now. You're strong, and you can protect Rize. That's why she's with you." Banjo said, Kaneki stammered and waved his hand in a dismissive manner.

"No! You don't understand! Me and Rize aren't in a relationship of any kind. She's just the cause of an incident that I was a part of!" Kaneki said.

"So I was mistaken!?" Banjo yelled, and when he heard Kaneki reply with 'yes' he bowed his head. "I'm sorry! I didn't know! Please forgive me!" Banjo yelled and Kaneki patted his shoulder.

"It's really alright…" Kaneki said awkwardly and Banjo shook his downed head.

"No, I can't make an error like that and not be punished for it! Please. Anything." Banjo said, and Kaneki smiled.

"It's honestly ok, it's just a misunderstanding. I forgive you."

After some more crying and moaning, Banjo raised his head and stared upwards.

"Kaneki, if you see Rize. For me, tell her to run!" Banjo said.

"W-what?! But why!?"

Touka was also interested. Why would one of the strongest ghouls need to be told to run away.

"She's in danger." Banjo started. "A few months ago, a band of ghouls called Aogiri Tree muscled their way into the 11th Ward and made it clear that they were taking over. They made their intentions clear that they wanted all the doves out, and exterminated most of them." Banjo explained, and thought about how peaceful the 11th Ward used to be. "I wouldn't be surprised if they already killed each dove by now." Banjo grabbed Kaneki's collar.

"Go! Run. They're going to do the same thing to this Ward as they did to our Ward. I don't even believe Naruto can stop them…" Banjo said.

Suddenly a foot smashed through the balcony window, and Banjo was kicked in the face.

"You had an easy task to do and you screwed it up. I guess you didn't learn the last time I kicked your face in, HUH?" a 15 year old kid with purple hair, a purple scarf and black wear shouted, his eyes red from annoyance.

Touka stepped forward, ignoring Banjo's warning to stop.

"Ayato." Touka greeted her little brother. The boy folded his arms.

"Good to see 'ya, how's that loser boyfriend of yours?" asked Ayato, and Kaneki looked puzzled.

'Boyfriend?' He thought before turning red, "Oh no! It's nothing like that!" Kaneki exclaimed before Ayato sent him a glare.

"I'm not talking about you, you damn idiot. I'm talking about Naruto, how is that piece of shit?" He asked his sister who slapped him hard, so hard that a tooth came out.

'Shit, Naruto's blood truly is a drug if it gives me this much power.' Touka thought. Before, the Rabbit was probably a B-rated ghoul, now she's at least an A-rated ghoul.

Ayato spat on the floor before he went to hit her but the doorbell chimed. Jason Yamori and his associate walked in.

"Ok, we've given you plenty of time. Can we come in now?" Yamori asked with his wide smile. Ayato clicked his teeth, and Touka grew a little nervous. Kaneki didn't know what to think, and Banjo was scared shitless.

Jason's associate turned over the open sign and shut the door behind him.

"So, who's this, Ayato?" Jason asked while looking at Touka. Nico, Jason's associate, moaned in delight as he leered at Touka possessively.

"Mm, mh, mhp!" Nico hummed. "Ayato, you didn't tell me your sister was as beautiful as you, gawd it hurts to see her so beautiful. Two gorgeous siblings just ripe for the picking. Come to daddy…" Nico said and stuck his finger in his mouth and played with his tongue, and Touka raised her hand.

"Umm, I have a boyfriend." Touka said, she was fully comfortable to show public affection with Naruto now that they finally had sex, and that established a stronger bond between the two.

"Oh it's ok. I'm sure he'll love to join." Nico said.

"He's Kitsune." Touka said, and Jason smelled the air.

"Where have I heard that name from, and where have I smelled that scent from?" Yamori's eyes widened before a loud laughter echoed throughout the shop. "You're dating Mr. Rudolph himself. It's cute." Jason said.

"So how did you find me?" Ayato asked.

Jason pointed to Banjo and his goons. "Your men, I caught onto their scent pretty easily. Very sloppy work." Jason said and shook his head disapprovingly. Ayato sent Banjo a glare which looked in the opposite direction.

"Look, Rize isn't here-" Banjo's sentence was cut short when Yamori kicked a chair into his face.

Slowly, Jason walked around the shop. He caught a scent he hated, Rize Kamishiro. He turned towards Kaneki and grinned crazily.

"Hey, kid. You smell an awful lot like, Rize!" Jason exclaimed. "Hey, Nico. You think he'll do?" Yamori asked his friend who shrugged.

"Sure, if you feel so adamant about him, then let's kidnap him." Nico said.

Yamori turned to Touka and blocked her kick that made him slightly stumble.

"You're gonna have to get through me!" Touka shouted, her kakugan blazing.

"Yeah? Okay..." Yamori dashed low, backhanding Touka into the wall before he turned and grabbed Kaneki, lifting him into the air. "There's nothing that can stop me from getting what I want, little girl." Jason said and grinned.

Kaneki broke out of Yamori hold, he grabbed onto the hand, snapped the thumb and pinky finger while also kicking the suit wearer in the face, he landed on the floor.

"I'm not going down without a fight!" Kaneki shouted.

Yamori hummed in thought before snapping his fingers back in place. 'This kids not half bad. Maybe I can have a little fun here as an appetiser.' Yamori thought before flexing his fingers. "Ok, kid. Wanna play hero? I'll let you have another shot!" Jason taunted.

Kaneki leapt forward, and threw a punch that hit Yamori's abdomen but didn't seem to cause much damage. He was lifted by the throat, slammed into the coffee table behind him and had his stomach stomped while his eyepatch fell off.

"Ok, kid. Get up, or stay down." Yamori cracked his middle finger with his thumb. "You know, if you play your cards right you might get out of this alive." Yamori then cracked his ring finger. "But you gotta behave, got it!?" Jason's leg began to rise with Kaneki who held onto his foot and pushed upwards.

Kaneki's left eye turned red, this caused an uproar of shocked expressions. Ayato gasped along with Banjo, and Jason looked surprised, but not scared.

"Oh, you're one of 'em one-eyed ghouls. Just like Naruto." He said, and was pushed back. Kaneki jumped up before charging at Yamori with a punch.

Yamori blitz him, stabbed him through the chest with his rinkaku kagune that resembled two tails covered in spikes. Jason then let him slide off his kagune. He braced himself for the incoming attack from Touka, but she was apprehended easily from Ayato.

Ayato wiggled his hand from the recoin. She had a hard face, he grinned and activated his kakugan.

"You're so pathetic, Touka. You're the living embodiment of Pop." Ayato said, and this caused Touka to activate her kakugan from the mention of her father, Arata Kirishima.

Her kagune ripped through her uniform, now forming two large wings. She crouched low as the wings circled her, making her menacing appearance looking more menacing. "He fought for us. He protected us and shielded you from the nightmares! YOU CLUELESS BRAT!"

She lunged at him, solidifying her wing to stab Ayato who blocked it with his own fiery wing.

"You're the one that's clueless, Touka. Mom and Pop are dead and gone. They didn't protect anything, they were just taken from us. But that's not gonna happen to me." He opened his wings, pushing Touka back. "It's time to show the humans that ghouls are superior in every way!" He shot shards at Touka who couldn't do anything to stop the onslaught.

She fell.

"You really are weak. Just like Naruto…" Ayato said, and spat on her.

Timeskip

It was night time, and Yoshimura, Yomo and the Bijuu just pulled up to the coffee shop.

Fuu was being piggybacked by Gaara while Yagura was walking behind. The last to exit the car was Han.

Gaara and Yagura found Han in the 11th Ward fighting Aogiri members. Han was the S-rated Gobi, he easily dismantled the members and was offered a chance to live at Anteiku. Which he took and reunited with Naruto.

Naruto smelled the air, and could sense a heavy amount of blood. Sprinting up the stairs, he opened the door and winced at the state of the shop.

The floors were wrecked, the coffee tables were split, the glass shield at the end of the encounter was destroyed. Everything was covered in blood, especially the dishes.

His ire then rose to a new level when he saw his girlfriend. She was leaning up against the blood staff door with her clothes stained in blood and holes in her clothes. He walked over to her and crouched low before examining her wounds, they were still fresh.

Touka looked up and saw her boyfriend staring at her worriedly. She leaned forward, and was lifted up into his arms.

"I couldn't stop them from taking him…" Touka whispered into the redhead's neck. Naruto cursed and turned to his manager who walked into the shop.

"They took him." Naruto said, and Yoshimura sighed.

"Yomo, call everyone in. Anteiku will be closed for a short while." Yoshimura said. "I think today will be one of the only times we'll have a staff meeting." Said the manager.

Naruto took Touka upstairs while everyone went into the meeting room.

Chapter: 9 End

Yeah, finished. I was working on this chapter, I'm sorry I skipped past Han's recruitment. I honestly didn't know what to say for him, but I finished this chapter.

Yes, it might be a bit different than canon, like some of the fight scenes.

Naruto's presence in that world caused a shift in power, like how Shuu got a kakuja and why Touka now has two wings instead of one. He brings so much power to the room if you're in it, he is that strong on the outside.

Touka is stronger due to her constant feeding on Naruto who has the richest blood in the series and 5-star flesh. Ask Tsukiyama, he knows all about that shit.

In canon, Kaneki would be beaten up by Yomo and shit, but now with Naruto here to fix his faults and flaws, he is a little bit stronger than canon.
