An Unseen Force - A Standard by BC5

First ever crossover, sorry if I didn't live up to expectations!

Harry Potter and Neville Longbottom, seasoned wizards, were currently in the Ministry of Magic. Neville was looking for a mysteriously powerful ward stone to help enhance the wards at Hogwarts. Even after the War and Harry's upgrades, Hogwarts' wards still seemed to be lacking.

The duo were in the Department of Mysteries, given instructions on reaching the wardstone room. The DoM was an interesting place, full of interesting things and mysterious objects. Harry was looking in the many different rooms on their way to the wardstone room. He passed one room in particular that only contained a floating cylindrical object. Neville was a few paces ahead of him when looked back and saw his friend walking in.

"Harry, don't touch anything!" Neville cried out, following him inside. However, Harry had already reached the middle of the room and reached his hand out to touch the object. That was when their world went black.

Harry and Neville found themselves in an icy cave. There was ice forming around their bodies; their cloaks doing little to protect them from the harsh cold. Neither knew where they were, and they could barely move, let alone think of anything else except the cold. Harry watched Neville crawl into the fetal position to conserve heat and quickly followed suit. Harry was so cold that he forgot to try to go for his wand to cast any kind of heating charms and eventually lost consciousness, accepting his and Neville's frozen fate…

Han Solo was out in the cold on his tauntaun looking for Luke. He had stated that he was headed back to base, but it had been almost 30 minutes and he wasn't back. Worse yet, he hadn't answered his radio, and Han was worried for his friend. So, here he was, in the freezing cold and rapidly dropping temperature of the tundra on Hoth, looking for Luke, and accepting that his fate might be sealed.

As the sun was going down, he came upon a cave that was half buried in the snow. He jumped off his tauntaun and ran over to the cave.

"Luke! Luke! It's Han! Luke?" Han yelled out as he approached the entrance. When he looked in, he froze in shock.

"Oh my God."

When Harry opened his eyes, all he could see was white. He was in a white bed in a white room wearing a white robe. He thought he was in Kings Cross and was dead, again, until he heard what sounded like an oven beeping. He turned his head to see a machine on wheels, a rotating dome on top with cameras making said noises, and after looking around again, he spotted Neville and a young man who were both sleeping.

He had no idea where he was, and he felt scared as he couldn't feel his wand on him and he didn't know where it was. The room was quiet, save for a few walking machines going back and forth through the room. Later, a woman walked in and walked over to the room.

"Ah, hello stranger. You were almost dead when we found you and your friend. Mind telling me how and why you were out there?"

Harry froze and couldn't speak. "What?"

The woman sighed and turned to Neville. "You and your friend aren't in our records, and we have no data on you. You were also found with some kind of stick and your cloaks were made of silk, neither of which are on this planet. So, you mind telling me who you are, where you came from, and how you found us?"

Harry had only now started to process this and finally answered. "Where's my stuff?"

The woman stared at him with a disappointed look.

Harry sighed. "I don't know how or why I'm here. Me and my friend, we…" Harry trailed off, trying to comprehend what had happened. "I grabbed some cylinder thing and suddenly I fell unconscious, waking up with my friend in that cave. It was so cold… so cold…"

The woman thought for a minute before speaking again. "Where do you think you are? Where do you last remember being?"

Harry studied the woman before answering. "I think I'm in the Arctic, and before I grabbed that cylinder thing, I was in Great Britain."

The woman shook her head. "I don't know who you are and what your intentions are, but you are not making sense. You are confined here until we can learn your identity."

"My name is Harry Potter, and my friend is Neville Longbottom."

The woman stopped at the door when he spoke. Without turning around, she stated, "Very well Mr. Potter. You are still confined here, though."

When Harry woke up again, he saw that he wasn't alone. The other man in the room was awake and talking with a man leaning against a wall.

"You know, any longer and I think you would have died," the man standing stated.

"Well, after I got away from the Wampa, I… I saw Ben," the man in bed stated.

"Luke," the man standing said carefully, "you almost died. You saw Ben die. He sacrificed himself so you could escape."

Luke shook his head. "It's my fault, Han. I could have helped him. Instead, I stayed put."

Han shook his head. "It isn't your fault, Luke. Stop blaming yourself. Anyways, what happened to the meteorite?"

Luke sighed. "It wasn't a meteorite. It was some kind of droid. I didn't get anything else when the Wampa got me."

Han nodded. "Alright, well, me and Chewie will check it out. You get better."

"Thanks, Han."

Han walked out of the room and Luke sighed and closed his eyes again. After a few hours, Harry shifted himself and looked at Luke.

"Excuse me, are you Luke?"

Luke gave Harry a questioning look. "Yeah. Who are you?"

"I'm Harry. Harry Potter. The man in the other bed is Neville Longbottom."

Luke stared at both of them. "I don't know either of you, and apparently nobody knows who you are or where you came from. So please enlighten me on that."

Harry took a deep breath. "Well, me and my friend were on a job, and something caught my eye. Against his wishes, I went in and looked at what it was. It was this cylindrical object that looked weird. For some reason, I grabbed it, and then after that both of us woke up in a cave, freezing our heads off."

Luke had a questioning look on his face. "A cylindrical object?" He thought for a moment before retrieving something from the side of his bed. Pulling out his lightsaber, he held it out for Harry to see.

"This kind of cylindrical object?"

Harry looked shocked before slowly nodding.

Luke hummed for a minute. "What do you know about us?"

Harry shrugged. "I have no idea. I don't even know where I am. Can you tell me where we are?"

"Well, we are on the planet Hoth, and you are in our base."

"Who are you fighting?" Harry asked suddenly.

Luke looked warily at him for a moment. "Well, the Empire is trying to take control of the Galaxy, and we are the fighting force against it. We are the Resistance."

Harry suddenly remembered something that Dudley had said years ago at Privet Drive. It had been almost 8 years before he finally watched the movies.

"Luke Skywalker?!"

Luke looked taken aback. "Yes… How do you know who I am?" he asked carefully.

Harry rubbed his head and thoughts flew through his head. He was in a movie! He, Harry Potter, was in a movie! Harry was about to tell Luke that he had been told that he was in a movie when he heard Neville shift around and start coughing and sneezing.

"Nev?" Harry asked.

Neville sat up and shook his head before sneezing. "Hey, Harry. You're ok!" He sneezed again.

Harry nodded. "Yeah. Thank Merlin. But you sound bad."

Neville sneezed and nodded. "I'm surprised you aren't sneezing."

Harry shrugged.

Luke interrupted them. "I'm sorry, what? What is going on? Who are you two? What is going on?"

Neville looked between Harry and Luke and blurted out "Luke Skywalker?!" He then descended into a fit of sneezing.

Luke nodded his head again. "Yes, I am he. Now explain yourself, please!

Neville didn't seem to see Harry's face as he blurted out "You're in Star Wars!"

"Neville!" Harry cried out. Neville started sneezing again. He felt around his body and snapped his head to Harry. "Where's our things?"

Luke shouted, "What is going on?"

Before anyone else could talk again, Han, the bear, and a pretty brown-haired woman walked in.

"Hey, Luke. Chewie wanted to say hi. And the Princess decided to follow," Han stated.

"Hey! When you told me that he was here, I had to come!" she replied, angrily.

Luke was focused between everyone before looking at Han. "Do you know these two?" He gestured to Harry and Neville. Neville was sneezing again.

Han nodded. "Yeah, these two were curled up freezing in a cave. I found them and had some guys pick them up while I looked for you."

Harry was running through the movie plot in his head. He stared at Han. "What happened to the droid?"

Han stared at Harry with a steely look in his eyes. "How do you know it was a droid?"

Luke spoke up. "We're apparently in 'Star Wars'. I don't know what they are talking about."

Neville spoke up, his sneezing calming down a bit. "Star Wars is a series of movies. This part of the story is in a movie called "The Empire Strikes Back." If I remember correctly, that droid that exploded alerted the Empire that your base was here! You have about 18 hours until they get here!"

Han aimed his blaster at Neville. "How do you know this? Are you a spy?"

Harry leaped up and went between them. "No! No! There was some kind of accident and somehow we ended up here!" Harry jumped as Neville started sneezing again. "Look, you guys are about to be in a rough patch. We can help defend, but you have to trust us! Where are our things?"

Leia stared at the two men. She motioned for Han to holster his blaster. "There have been three drones in the past month from the Empire. We intercepted a localisation signal coming from the droid to a mothership. We have already started preparing for a defense. Are you good with a blaster?"

Harry smirked. "Not with a blaster, but I do have a wand, and in my opinion, it is much better than a blaster. You'll have to trust us, which I can understand not doing now, but after this fight I hope you will."

Leia glanced at Luke. "Would you trust them?"

Luke looked between Leia and the men. Harry dropped his hands. Neville held back his sneezes. After a moment, Luke nodded his head. "I have a feeling that they aren't lying. They are pure of heart. Trust them."

Leia nodded and looked at the men again. "Alright, get them their belongings. Prepare the base for the attack. Power up the orbital shields."

Luke nodded.

"Thank you, Ma'am," Harry said. Neville finally let out his sneeze, which led to more sneezing and coughing.

"I want a pain reliever potion when we are done with this," Neville remarked, wiping his nose.

The Rebels were in position. From off in the distance, several AT-ATs were slowly advancing on the base. Thanks to Neville and Harry's knowledge of the movie, they were able to devise a plan to keep the base secure from the Empire. Neville would stay back and keep the generator shielded while Harry would manipulate the weather to help the Rebels fight off the Empire.

Leia, Han, Harry, and Neville were in the Command Room.

"Ma'am, four AT-ATs spotted eight miles south." One of the men monitoring the communications reported.

Leia nodded. "Thank you." She turned to Neville and Harry. "When this is over we will be talking about this. But everything you have provided to us has panned out, and I will trust you to help us. Han, I want you to help coordinate the transports. We still have six to get out and that is a big ask. Get out when you can after the transports are away."

The three nodded and walked out of the room. Han stopped them. "If you are lying, I'll hunt you through the Galaxy and kill you myself."

Harry nodded. "Won't have to come to that, Mr. Solo."

Han nodded. Neville sneezed again.

Harry was bundled up outside, watching the AT-ATs slowly advance. As they reached the range to where they started firing, he raised his wand and started to darken the sky, causing blinding winds and snow to cover the AT-ATs with snow, ice, and wind. He felt a wave of magic as Neville erected wards and shields around the main generator. Looking behind him, he saw another transport burning to orbit. As the Rebels started firing on the enemies, Harry adjusted his storm to be heavily focused on the machines, however it was getting harder to maintain it without harming any of the ships being flown to destroy the AT-ATs.

Harry had started to shift his snowstorm to try and aid the Rebels, however even as he was lengthening his storm, the magical barrier was failing. This allowed some of the blaster shots from the AT-ATs to hit the mountain, causing small avalanches throughout the base. Harry noticed this and tried to focus more power on the raging storm, but accidentally caused the storm to grow in intensity and cover the entire battlefield.

From the other side of the base, Neville had noticed that Harry's storm was raging, almost uncontrollably. Neville, losing focus due to his sneezing, accidentally amplified his shield and created a shockwave that seemed to knock one of the AT-ATs out of action. That seemed to spur Harry back into action and he was able to reign in his uncontrollable snowstorm. He cancelled the spell and the storm dissipated, and he ended up sending overpowered blasting curses at the remaining AT-ATs. Although they were in range of the generators, thanks to Neville's shield, the generators held strong.

In one last act from Harry, he sent two separate but controlled blizzards at the remaining machines, forcing the wind to lift and penetrate the body armor, effectively destroying it on the spot.

After the Battle, Harry and Neville had been thrown on the last transport. On board was Princess Leia and many of her Generals. Harry and Neville, in a sort of interrogation room, leaned back and sighed. They technically won the battle, but the base was lost. However, the story of Star Wars was now changed, and thus the events would be different. But that was a story and a battle for another day.

Harry glanced at Neville, who had been able to stop sneezing and was getting better. They had no idea if or how they would get back to their world or their friends and family. Harry cursed internally; he shouldn't have let his curiosity get the better of him, but the result allowed them to save many lives. Despite the change and the shocked new reality, Harry and Neville would face every adventure head on, well, at least if they got past Princess Leia's interrogation.
