After the intense and exhausting confrontation at the Lodge mansion, Veronica and Archie returned to their apartment. Archie decided to take a shower, hoping the hot water would help wash away some of the tension of the evening. Meanwhile, Veronica needed to talk to her friends. She set up her laptop and initiated a Zoom call with her best friends: Betty Cooper, Cheryl Blossom, Toni Topaz, Emily Cooper, and Olivia Baker.

As soon as the call connected, their concerned faces filled the screen.

"Hey, V, what happened?" Betty asked, leaning in closer to her screen.

Veronica sighed. "It was a disaster. We presented our plans to my parents, and they hated everything. They're still against the Paris wedding and even offered to give us the money back to cancel everything."

Cheryl scoffed, flipping her red hair over her shoulder. "Typical Hiram and Hermione. They always think they know best. Their wedding ideas are outrageous and totally self-centered. It's like they want the wedding to be all about them."

Emily nodded in agreement. "Cheryl's right. This wedding is about you and Archie, not them. You deserve to have the day you've always dreamed of."

Emily then called over Camille from the other room. Camille joined the call, looking curious. "What's going on?"

Emily quickly explained the situation. Camille's expression turned sympathetic. "Veronica, you have to do what makes you happy. It's your wedding, and it should reflect your love and personality."

Veronica sighed deeply. "I just wish my parents could understand that. I've already sent out all the invitations. There's no turning back now."

The girls all nodded in unison, offering sympathetic smiles.

"You did the right thing, Veronica," Olivia said. "You've planned everything so meticulously. They'll come around eventually. They just need time to accept that things are changing."

Veronica felt a bit more reassured by her friends' support. "Thanks, guys. I really needed to hear that."

She took a deep breath before continuing. "By the way, I wanted to let you all know who's going to be my maid of honor and my bridesmaids. Betty, I'd like you to be my maid of honor."

Betty's eyes lit up. "I'd be honored, Veronica. Thank you."

Veronica smiled. "And for my bridesmaids, I want Emily, Mindy, Olivia, and Tabitha Tate."

The girls all cheered and congratulated each other.

"This wedding is going to be amazing," Toni said with a confident smile. "We're all here for you, Veronica. Whatever you need."

Feeling a weight lifted from her shoulders, Veronica ended the Zoom call. Just as she closed her laptop, Archie emerged from the bathroom, his hair still damp from the shower.

"How'd the call go?" he asked, toweling off his hair.

Veronica smiled warmly. "It went well. The girls are all on our side. Cheryl and Emily especially think my parents' ideas are ridiculous. They're all supportive of our plans."

Archie sat down beside her, pulling her close. "That's good to hear. We've got a lot of people who believe in us and want to see us happy."

Veronica nodded, resting her head on his shoulder. "We do. And no matter what, we're going to have the wedding of our dreams."

Archie kissed the top of her head. "Absolutely. Now let's get some rest. We've got a big day ahead tomorrow."

As they prepared for bed, Veronica felt a renewed sense of determination. With the support of their friends, she and Archie would face whatever challenges came their way. Their love was strong enough to overcome any obstacle, and their wedding in Paris would be a beautiful celebration of that love.
