Oscar now 14 is enjoying returning to camp for the third summer in a row. However, his enjoyment is cut short when he gets not only one but two confessions on the same day.

May God bless you all.

Oscar headed back to his cabin. In truth, he had lost track of time as he thought about what had transpired just a few hours ago. Lucy, yup, Lucy had actually confessed to him shortly after his arrival. Like he didn't even see it coming.

Camp technically started tomorrow, but he and a few others had arrived early. Lucy was one of them. Pepper was another. The small group had hung out for a bit and then they all went their separate ways. However, Oscar and Lucy had stayed near the cafeteria and talked for a bit. Then suddenly out of nowhere, she kissed him on the cheek. Then just as suddenly all these words started coming out. Apparently, she had liked him for a while, but the young elephant hadn't the slightest idea. However when he thought about it, there were signs.

Her trying to get him to be more independent when it came to hedgehog being one of the biggest ones. But this was all still so weird for him. It was a good thing she didn't demand an answer back. In fact, she pretty much just told him to take his time. She even apologized for springing this on him. He was too shocked to even respond, but now that he was back at his cabin he could take the time to really ponder exactly what his feelings were…

"Hey there Oscar." Said a familiar voice breaking him from his thoughts about Lucy.

"Oh, hey Alice." He responded as the young camp counselor joined him. He had been sitting on his cabin porch, just thinking about all that had happened today.

"A penny for your thoughts?" She said as she sat next to him.

"Uhhh…" Oscar honestly wasn't sure if he should tell… then again Alice had always been one of the nicer camp counselors. She had actually been pretty friendly from the beginning now that he thought about it.

"Well… Lucy told me this morning…"

"She likes you I know."

"Wait you know?" He asked.

"Yeah, well it's my job before camp starts to make sure everyone who arrives early is safe. So I… er have certain of the… I guess for now we'll call them people monitor your activities."

"Wait you mean the trees and stuff?"

"More so the animals, we have to make sure nothing happens to you guys." Alice told him.

"OH… okay… so… I'm sorry I'm just so confused… I didn't even know Lucy liked me in that way." Oscar told her.

"Really? It was pretty obvious." Alice replied.

"It was? Come on…" Oscar insisted. "…I'm just plain old Oscar, and L…"

"What?" Alice interrupted causing Oscar to turn to her.

The friendly face was replaced by Alice's angry eyes. She rarely took those out.

"What?" Oscar asked now wondering if she had offended her in some way.

"Plain old Oscar?" She asked.

She then reached out and put her hands on his shoulders. "You my boy are anything but plain." She told him.

"You're kind, smart, funny, and you're always putting others above yourself. And despite how things tend to be around you, you manage to maintain this optimistic attitude. You even befriended those ugly monsters."

Oscar was taken aback. Alice wasn't usually like this. Also, the things she said about him. It was weird how much she actually paid attention to. It wasn't that he thought she was oblivious, but she went around acting all perky all the time and didn't seem to understand how certain things affected other people. She sometimes seemed to live in her own cute little world of sunshine and rainbows.

It was refreshing to see that despite all that she really did care and observe what was going on with the cam…

"MHMphmm." Went Oscar as… he wasn't sure at first but then it hit him.

Yup, those were lips, definitely lips… not just any lips but wooly mammoth lips… They were actually pretty soft and kind of furr…

"Oh!" Said Alice as the two departed. "Um… I'm sorry… I…" She went on but all Oscar could do was stare. Stare at the teenager who had just given him his first kiss.

"Um… well I better go… you can take that to mean… oh screw it…" She said. "I'd like to throw my hat in the ring…. Metaphorically."

That was all she said, before disappearing into a puff of smoke, leaving Oscar once again pondering what the heck had just happened.

He touched his lips and… ever so slowly… decided to call it a night.

He could deal with this day better after his brain actually had enough time to analyze and compute all the details.

"Morning Oscar." Said his jammies.

"Morning." He replied back blankly. Yup, he was still thinking about what had happened yesterday. As he went through his morning routine, praying, brushing teeth, showering, and everything, his mind couldn't help but constantly wander to the events of the day prior.

"Okay you have to figure this out…" He told himself. He had about half an hour before the opening ceremony.

So, he sat in bed and thought about, pretty much everything. First Lucy then Alice. Where did Alice come from? Yeah, Oscar always thought she was a nice girl… but… now come to think of it there were signs there as well. The two pretty much hit it off rather early with the monster baby thing. Sure they got along but… Hmmm… as Oscar thought more on this it appeared to be almost as obvious as Lucy should have been.

Originally it was possible that Alice had taken a liking to him as they were both elephants. Yes, she technically was a mammoth but they all fall under the same family and he was the only elephant at the camp, so maybe she felt like she should look after him or something like that but… really…

The more Oscar thought about it the more it both made sense and didn't make sense. Sure she was always nice to him and seemed to have a particular pull towards the young elephant, but that could all be put towards her being a nice person… but then again there were those times. Specifically when she said he was already too cute to be turned into a baby… but that could have been…

"Ugghhh." Oscar went. He realized all this overthinking didn't do any good.

Yesterday two girls had confessed their feelings for him.

*ring*

As Oscar got up to attend the opening ceremony he realized all the other stuff, the when, why, how…

…Didn't really matter.

Thank you for all who made it to the end. I know this first chapter was a bit short but just setting the premise. The other ones will probably be a bit longer.

May God bless you all.
