Lucas gulped as he grabbed the bottom of Ness's shirt. He wanted to know if Ness and Nate had any differences at all. He's not sure if he's ever seen Ness's stomach. He sure as hell saw Nate's. He knows his clone has two beauty marks that are close to each other on his tummy.
It… It wouldn't hurt to check, right? It's not that creepy, right? He just wants to know if the clone is an exact copy. Anyone would be curious. It's fine, it's only a little peak.
Badum! Badum!
His heart was racing. His hands were shaky as he was slowly lifting up his friend's shirt. He took a quick glance at Ness's sleepy face and the guilt took over. He let go and decided against it.
What the hell is he thinking?! He almost sexually assaulted his best friend. Stupid! Why would he do that? He even pulled his shirt down to see his collarbone. Right there is sexual assault. He needs to tell him, but what if Ness doesn't want to be his friend anymore?
Lucas was panicking. He didn't know what to do. He stood up and went to the balcony to collect his thoughts. He sat there enjoying the summer night trying to repress the negative emotions.
Ring!
Ring!
Lucas heard Ness's phone go off. Who would call him this late at night? He left the balcony and grabbed Ness's phone to see who it was. His eyes widened in shock. He nearly dropped his phone. It was Nate, his ex-boyfriend.
Ness and Nate have been contacting each other. That answers his question. But now, what should he do? Should he leave it alone, or pick it up? He desperately wanted to know why Nate would call this late at night. Could he be in trouble? In fact, where is Nate? He left without saying goodbye.
Lucas decided to not answer the phone himself, but to wake Ness up instead. This sounds too important to ignore.
Lucas: "Ness, wake up! Your phone is going off."
Ness: "Nnnn."
Lucas: "It's Nate. It sounds important."
Ness: "Nnnn…"
Ness has always been difficult to wake up. The phone stopped ringing. The blonde waited for the phone to go off again, but it didn't. If it were truly important, he would call again, right? Unless he's getting jumped at this second!
Lucas shook Ness harder until he fully woke up.
Ness: "W-wha?"
Lucas: "Oh thank god you're awake."
Ness: "Lucas? W-what's going on?"
Lucas: "Nate called you. It sounds important."
Ness: "Nate? Wait, huh?"
Lucas: "He might be in trouble."
It took Ness a few minutes to fully understand what was going on. He was still in a daze, but he sat up and took his phone. He called Nate back.

Nate: "Finally!"
Ness: "What's going on? Dude, it's four in the morning."
Nate: "Sorry, I didn't mean to wake you, but your Mom is having a mental breakdown. I don't know what to do."
Ness: "What?"
Nate: "She's hysterically crying as we speak."
Ness: "Where is she?"
Nate: "In her room. I don't know if I should knock."
Ness: "You should. Hand her your phone. I'll talk to her."
Nate: "Ok."
…
Ness: "Sorry, Lucas, I'll be right back."
Ness went to the balcony and shut the door. Lucas hoped Ness's mom is going to be ok. He laid on the bed and waited. When his friend returned, Lucas immediately asked what's wrong.
Ness: "Oh, she's sad because my dad is gone. She misses talking to him on the phone."
Lucas: "I'm so sorry."
Ness: "It's… I try not to think about it."
Lucas: "..."
Ness: "Even though I barely saw him, we would talk sometimes. He wasn't really there for me as a dad, but I do appreciate him working and providing."
Lucas: "Do you know what he did?"
Ness: "What do you mean?"
Lucas: "Career wise."
Ness: "No clue."
Lucas: "You never asked?"
Ness: "I did. He always dodged the question. I'm starting to think he did something really bad. Next time I visit my mom I'll ask her about it."
Lucas: "Is your mom doing ok right now?"
Ness: *Yawns* "Yeah, I calmed her down."
Lucas: *Yawns*
Ness: "Yeah, let's go back to bed. Sorry about this."
Lucas: "Oh, you're ok. I was still awake."
Ness: "Seriously? It's four in the morning."
Lucas: "I can't sleep."
Ness: "I have melatonin."
Lucas: "Yeah, ok."
Ness gave Lucas melatonin. He took it and surprisingly he was able to shut his brain off and sleep.
The Next Day…
Ness was the first to wake up, which is odd because Lucas always beats him to it. Must be because of the melatonin he gave him.
Ness got up and grabbed new clothes. He went to the bathroom to change and brush his teeth. After he was done, he still saw Lucas sleeping on his bed. He smiled and went over to his desk and started reading.
Ding!
Ness: "Hm?"
He checked his phone.

Nate: thanks dude. i really didnt know what to do there
Ness: All good. Is she doing better?
Nate: yeah she's acting like nothing happened
Ness: She's hurting a lot. She doesn't want you to worry. She definitely bottled it up and exploded last night.
Nate: i feel bad
Ness: Don't. It's not your fault.

He went back to reading. He kept reading until Lucas finally woke up. The blonde stretched his limbs and yawned.
Ness: "Look who's finally up." *Chuckles*
Lucas: "Weird. I always wake up first."
Ness: "I know right."
Lucas: "I'm hungry."
Ness: "Want to get something to eat?"
Lucas: "You get it for me."
Ness: "What?"
Oh, that's right. That was Nate who used to bring Lucas breakfast every morning. The blonde felt embarrassed.
Lucas: "S-sorry. I… Uh, yeah let's go get breakfast."
Ness: "Y-yeah, ok."
That was weird. Why was Lucas suddenly so demanding? He knows he gets cranky when he wakes up, but he usually doesn't talk. He would only give one word replies.
Lucas got up and went to the bathroom to get dressed. The two went to Moonspoon Cafe to eat. They started talking about video games as usual.
Ding!
Ness checked his phone.
Ness: "Oh!"
Lucas: "Who is it?"
Ness: "It's Professor Oak! I start work tomorrow!"
Lucas: "What! Oh my god that's good news."
Ness: "I'm scared."
Lucas: "You'll be fiiine."
Ness: "I dunno. What if I mess up?"
Lucas: "It's your first day. Of course you're going to mess up."
Ness: "..."
Lucas: "Nobody is perfect. Your boss will understand."
Ness: "Yeah, ok…"
Lucas: "Don't be such a worry wart."
Ness: "You're right."
After their hang out, they went their separate ways. Lucas went to play Street Fighter and Ness went to take Lucky out on a walk.
The walk was nice. Until Lucky saw a couple sitting on a picnic blanket minding their own business. He unhooked his leash using his telekinetic power and started rushing toward the couple.
Ness: "Lucky, stop!"
Ness chased after him. When he caught up, the happy couple was none other than Kirby and Little Mac.

Kirby: "Ness!"
Little Mac: "Hey, what's up?"
Ness: "Guys!"
Lucky: "Espiii!"
Kirby: "How are you?"
Ness: "I'm doing ok. Still adjusting."
Little Mac: "Has it already been a week since the crazy?"
Ness: "It has."
Little Mac: "Jee Louie. Time goes by fast. Feels like it was yesterday when I was fighting smash zombies."
Ness: "Don't remind me."
Lucky jumped on Kirby's lap and started licking her face.
Kirby: "Aww, how adorable. Who's this cutie?"
Ness: "Lucky is his name. He's my Pokemon."
Kirby: "So cute!"
Lucky was curious about Kirby's crown and used his telekinetic power to pick it up. Kirby instantly turned into his ball form.
Ness: "LUCKY! NO!"
Ness snatched the crown and put it back on Kirby's head. She transformed back into a hot chick.
Ness: "S-sorry… He has a hard time behaving."
Kirby: "It's ok~"
Ness: "So, what're you guys up to?"
Little Mac: "We're enjoying a picnic togetha~"
Ness: "Sounds romantic."
Kirby and Little Mac looked at each other and smiled. He pecked her cheek and she giggled.
Little Mac: "So, when are you gettin' a girl?"
Ness: "M-me?"
Little Mac: "Yeah."
Kirby: "Little Mac! That's rude."
Little Mac: "Oh, sorry."
Ness: "Oh, it's fine I-
Kirby: "Don't you know he's dating Luigi."
Little Mac and Ness froze.
Ness: "W-WHAT?!"
Kirby: "What?"
Little Mac: "Uh, Kirbs, you got it all wrong."
Kirby: "What do you mean? Luigi told me that you two are dating."
Ness: "NO! ABSOLUTELY NOT!"
Kirby: "Wait, huh? I'm confused."
Little Mac: "Luigi lied."
Kirby: "Why would Luigi lie about that."
Ness: "Because he's obsessed with me!"
Kirby: "What!"
Ness: "Well, I guess not anymore. He got factory reset, thank god."
Little Mac: "What would you do if he remembered?"
Ness: "Please no."
Little Mac: "But what if?"
Ness: "I… He's not going to."
Little Mac: "You never know."
Ness: "Nope. I refuse to acknowledge that thought."
Little Mac: "Fair enough."
Kirby: "Why don't you like Luigi?"
Ness: "Because! He… He… Ah…"
He didn't know if telling Kirby about the whole Luigi drama would be a good idea. She's too wholesome. He didn't want to traumatize her.
Ness: "He's a big meanie."
Kirby: "Really? He strikes me as a nice guy."
Little Mac: "He tried to rape him."
Ness: (Little Mac you idiot!) *Facepalms*
Kirby: "What's rape?"
Little Mac: "Oh, shit…"
Ness gave Little Mac a look.
Ness: "That's your problem now."
Ness walked off and Lucky followed behind.
Kirby: "Wait, I don't get it. What's rape?"
Little Mac: "Fuck…"

Ness went back to his room. It's great to know that those two love birds are doing good. He sighed. If only he had that special someone. He checked his twitter and ignored his notifications and direct messages. It was full of creeps anyway. Instead he went to Tina's page and started scrolling through her pictures.
He imagined them going on a date. Dating her sounds like a dream. He started thinking of a scenario of him asking her out and her saying yes obviously.
His daydream:
Ness decides to finally text his crush.

Ness: Hey! I was wondering if you wanted to go on a date sometime.
Tina: omg yas!
Ness: Really?
Tina: Yaaas! ive been waiting for this moment
Ness: Oh! Ok! Where do you want to go?
Tina: i want to go to a restaurant
Ness: Ok! I'll pick you up later tonight.
Ness was excited. He picked out a nice outfit. He looked at himself in the mirror. Bed head fluffy hair won't do. He wanted to look professional, not some tiktok fuckboy. He added gel and slicked it back. For once he thought he looked handsome.
Once seven o clock hit, he knocked on Tina's door to be greeted with a beautiful inkling wearing a teal dress. She grabbed his arm and together they went to a fancy restaurant.
The atmosphere was beautiful and clean. The food was delicious and they chatted. Dinner was expensive but he was more than happy to provide her with this experience. It was worth seeing her smile and having a good time.
He saw Darnell, her ex-boyfriend staring at them through the window with a sad expression on his face. Ness smirked and flipped him off. He then pulled Tina closer and together they left the restaurant to go on a summer night walk.
The two wound up on a hill. It was a full moon out. The lighting was perfect. He could see Tina's beautiful face and he couldn't help but get excited. He gently placed his hand on her chin and lifted her head up. The two moved their faces closer and closed their eyes. They shared a passionate kiss. When they pulled away, they both looked at each other with love in their eyes.
Tina: "Do you wanna go to my place?"
Ness: "I do."
The two head to Tina's room. She pushed him onto the bed and sat on his lap. Next she started kissing his neck while unbuttoning his tux.
Tina: ["I want you."]
Ness: ["Me too."]
He took off her dress. He saw her with lingerie on. God she's so sexy.
Tina: "You can touch them."

He quickly shook his head and snapped back to reality (Oh! There goes gravity). He was getting way too excited. He could feel his… He needs to stop staring at her pictures and thinking about her like that. It's most likely never going to happen anyway.
There's so many guys after her. Why would she go after a nerd like him? Although, she does seem to be interested. Maybe a little. She did say he was her favorite. That also could've been a joke to tease her friends. But what if it wasn't and she does like being around him?
He started typing on her dms.

Ness: Hey I was wondering if you and I could hang out sometime. [Draft]

Come on, just send it. Just… Send it. His hand started to shake. All he has to do is press enter. He stared at his laptop screen for another ten minutes. He was scared. What if she says no? What if she does say yes but it's out of pity?

He checked his discord and saw that it was Nate.
