Hey, hey!
Another chapter. Hope you enjoy it! I will add that, per my usual style when I give you a chapter with some fun in it. The next chapter is an extra side of angst. So be warned this chapter has talks of suicide, depression and abuse in it.
Also, to add. Not sure if I made it evident, this is mainly a Hinata-centric/Hyuga-centric story. I already know Naruto's backstory and life. This is exploring Hinata more. By no means is this story bashing Naruto. It'll come to view the Uzumaki marriage from both Naruto and Hinata's standpoints.
Thanks for reading! Enjoy the chapter.
Italics: 'Inside Hinata's mind'
"Does your head hurt right now Hinata?"
Sakura flashed a mini light into Hinata's eyes, which Hinata almost gave Sakura a pointed look. What pupils were Sakura checking for? Was this something all doctors just do?
"I may be looking into a sea of nothingness Hinata, but sometimes things are hidden in the nothingness. All it takes is a little light to flush it out." Sakura turned her light off and sighed, "Unfortunately that trick didn't work with your eyes. Which I kind of already figured with your advance dōjutsu that I wasn't fooling the Byakugan."
Hinata still smiled at her friend. Sakura was trying and that was all Hinata could ask for. "However, fear not Hinata. I was able to get something, so you and Naruto aren't leaving here with nothing."
Hinata was sitting on the medical exam bed in the doctors office. Sakura had went through a series of tests and exams on Hinata. Even putting Hinata through a CT scan type of machine that was designed for chakra examining. Pulling up Hinata's results on the computer, Sakura turned the screen to Hinata and Naruto to see what she was about to explain.
"So, as you can see in the full body picture, this is you Hinata. You see the three colors swirling in your body? From our mission a long time ago, to the moon. Remember the chakra from Hamura Ōtsutsuki? That's the purple chakra swirling in you that you see. The blue is your Hyuga chakra. It seems they are kind of bonding together, and somehow creating white. How the two charka is creating white? I don't know. Either way, that white is becoming dominant in your chakra system. Have you noticed a change in your chakra?"
Hinata furrowed her eyebrows together as she looked at Naruto, who was standing beside her as she sat on the bed. He was looking at her just as confused as she was looking at him. "I-I haven't noticed anything wrong with my chakra. I can still use my Byakugan, and regular jutsu's perfectly normal like I've always could."
"No, not wrong Hinata, different. Anything different. Like a spike, or an extra output of your chakra when training. Random adrenaline pump. Anything?" Sakura looked between Hinata and Naruto, because if Hinata couldn't see it, perhaps the people around her could. Naruto had to have noticed this at least. Considering the side effects are kind of what pushed Hinata over the edge to go for a separation.
"Yeah. I've noticed. She's more antsy. Going out to run, twice a day. For long miles and hours." Naruto just put it out there. He knew Hinata was a bit touchy on her running hobby. It was her 'stress relief', but perhaps it was relieving the extra chakra buildup more than anything.
Hinata looked at Naruto and he held a hand up to stop her from making an excuse. "There is nothing wrong with working out. Hinata, turning into a miniature Lee though, that is what caught my attention."
Sakura documented her findings, and what Naruto was saying. "That makes sense. I know you want to keep it just on the exercise increase topic, but realistically we all know that the chakra imbalance is doing a lot more damage. I'm not putting this down on the record, but having three strands of chakra in your body would cause anyone to go mad Hinata. Our bodies aren't equipped to have chakra mutation. It messes with our minds, and our bodies. You were hurting internally from this, and because it was affecting your mind, you couldn't figure out the cause."
Sakura cleared her throat and turned her computer screen off. Sliding her chair to Hinata's knees. "Look. I just know about this because I was on a team with Naruto and Sasuke. My two biggest headaches. You've seen how hard it was for Naruto to handle two different chakra's in his body. How much turmoil he went through. Sasuke when advancing his Sharingan went through hell Hinata. Him trying to do it alone drove him mad…for a really long time."
Sakura took Hinata's hand and smiled up at her, but Hinata could see Sakura looked as if she was going to cry. "Sakura."
"You basically did what Sasuke had done. You fell down that rabbit hole of darkness, and you pushed everyone away Hinata. Tsk, you dōjutsu users are so hard on yourselves. You people can see everything, and then at the same time see nothing."
Clearing her throat, and going back to her professional persona. Sakura slid back and took a look at Hinata again. "I don't know if your body will keep the imbalance, or if the white chakra will dominate the other two strands. The white chakra is definitely the strongest of the three, so my guess is that'll be your new chakra output. The fact it hasn't come out yet is a bit scary though. You have to find a way to dig deep and pull that sucker out from lying doormat. You have to control it Hinata."
Hinata closed her mouth, because she didn't know she had it hanging open. She slowly nodded her head, and seemed to be stuck in a daze. This wasn't the news she was expecting at all. Honestly, she didn't know what to expect, but this wasn't it. "I…I don't understand why this is happening. How long has this been…sitting there?"
Destroying her.
Sakura turned her screen back on and looked at Hinata's scans again. "It's really hard to say. It could have been weeks, it could have been months, it could have been years. Like a cancer. It wasn't noticeable until you started noticing. Well, until WE started noticing. I'm not sure how long you would have let this go on Hinata without your circle harassing you to get help."
Sakura looked at Hinata and noticed her friend look off to the side with a little pout. Sakura had hit a nerve, but she didn't care. Hinata needed to hear this. "You deserved that Hinata and you know it. Toughen up buttercup, because you have a long road ahead of you. This time, you're not going to do it alone. I won't allow it."
Signing out and turning off her computer again, Sakura scribbled some things down on her note pad and gave it to Naruto. "You prepare too Naruto. Life isn't going to be easy, so get your head out the sand, and make sure your wife is taking care of herself. These are some symptoms that she'll show if she needs to release chakra because it's building up too much. Headaches. A major sign Hinata. Not something to ignore as a ninja. Retired or not. If she starts talking a lot, being a busy body, or seems to not be able to keep still. Overly emotional, to the point of being aggressive. Pretty much if Hinata isn't being herself, try to release that tension in her. Until she finds a healthy routine and can do it without prompting."
Naruto took the paper from Sakura and scanned over the list as he continued to listen to the conversation. Hinata standing up from the exam bed and gathering her belongs. "Does this have any connections to do with the moon? Or…the bathroom situation with Toneri?"
Aww eyes. Hinata did have to disclose that dark moment to Sakura. Hinata was trying to get to the bottom of this as much as possible. Other things had to be done. She had to be there for her family.
"Hmm. I'm sure it does, but that's something for Ino to look into Hinata. You're going to have to suck up your pride and see her. The world doesn't have to know about you getting mental help. For goodness sake you're taking antidepressants, which I would stop if I were you. It's getting in the way of you seeing the signs of the white chakra progressing. Your symptoms that caused you to take the pills aren't related Hinata. It's because of the chakra imbalance. So, as a doctor, I'm saying to stop taking them. We've found the actually problem."
Sakura stood up and held her finger up when Hinata looked like she was going to protest. "I'm also saying, not recommending, but SAYING as your friend, to go see Ino. I don't care if I have to drag you there myself. This is something we could have tackled months ago, you've been hurting yourself for months and I won't let you continue Hinata."
"Sakura…I understand." Hinata placed her hands on Sakura's shoulders to calm her friend. To let her know she understood that she was hurt, and that she shouldn't have pushed her away. "I truly am sorry for how everything happened."
Biting her bottom lip, Hinata looked off to the side before she looked back at Sakura. "Will it be fine for me to go on a diplomat assignment with my sister? For a month."
Sakura's mouth dropped open and she looked at Hinata like she couldn't be serious. She then looked at Naruto, who was silently telling Sakura to calm down. Sakura looked back at Hinata and let out a frustrated sigh. "Medically, you can totally go. As your friend, I'm telling you that you're pushing yourself Hinata. You could go out there and snap. Being around your family is a TRIGGER. You haven't even gotten a hold of this thing yet, and you HAVE to see Ino."
"I will. As soon as I return."
"Before you go. The trip is in three weeks. We'll see Ino tomorrow." Naruto was still reading Sakura's notes, but voiced this in a nonchalant manner. Yet, his tone was finalizing.
To know Hinata has been hurting for months, or maybe longer, and he is just now finding out. It made Naruto upset, very upset. With himself, and with Hinata. It just showed their communication had gotten awful. That there was just so much for them to work on. Like being honest with each other.
"Three chakra's? That's unheard of."
Konohamaru was sitting at the dining room table with Hanabi, Boruto, Himawari, Hanabi, Naruto and Hinata. They haven't had a family dinner in four months. This was the first since the separation, and all the adults expected the awkwardness.
Naruto didn't really want to be around Hanabi. She damn sure didn't want to be around Naruto. The kids were watching the two adult, and the heavy tension that was between them. Meanwhile Konohamaru and Hinata attempted to be mediator. Konohamaru was important to Hanabi and to Naruto. Hinata was important to Naruto and Hanabi as well. They HAD to make this work. It was going to take time, and healing happens over time.
Hinata talked about her doctor's appointment today. Her and Naruto talked while walking back home and concluded that the family should know. Their immediate family. Even Boruto and Himawari were going to play a part in helping with this. When Hinata explained there was three chakra's basically having an internal battle in her body, that was when Konohamaru spoke up completely absorbed in the topic.
"How do you feel?" Konohamaru asked this while he was eating, and Hanabi elbowed him to control his table manners. Hinata smiled at her future brother-in-law though, and also took a small bite of her already tiny portioned plate. Not noticing Naruto side eyeing the practically empty plate. "I feel okay. A bit drained, but not tired."
Hanabi nodded her head in understanding. She saw the list that Sakura wrote, and a lot of things were starting to click in. "You not sleeping. It's all making sense now. It's the chakra imbalance and not…that other thing." Her depression.
Clearing her throat, Hinata shrugged off the awkwardness. She wasn't a fan of being in the spotlight at all. "More like a mixture of both. Which will be something I'm not going to take medication for anymore. Reason why we are sharing this. I suppose the symptoms on the list Sakura wrote will be more…obvious once the medication weans off, and I stopped today."
So, tomorrow was going to be something.
Hanabi stopped herself from tapping her utensil on the table and forced herself to look at Hinata. "Well, if this is the case. You can't go on the assignment then."
"Nonsense. Yes I can. Sakura said it's fine." Looking at Boruto and Himawari, Hinata smiled at her growing kids. "I will be going on a diplomat assignment with your aunt Hanabi. We will be going with the elders from the compound, and traveling a few villages for Hyuga business, and Konoha affairs. The trip is a month long, but your father will be here for you two every step of the way."
Himawari's mouth hung open, and Boruto almost dropped his utensils. Both looked at Naruto and he felt offended honestly that the kids didn't think he could manage. Then again, he never really gave them a reason to believe he could care for them alone, for more than a few hours. "We got this guys. Mom has her duties too."
"Yeah, but for a whole month?" Boruto immediately closed his mouth when he felt the burning stare his aunt was sending his way. Even though Hanabi wasn't a fan of Naruto. Respect for your parents was something heavy Hanabi was raised on. So, she expected the best manners from her niece and nephew.
Quickly stepping in. Hinata took over the conversation. Not wanting her son to put his foot in his mouth. "It's going to be great Boruto. Your father will take you on all the fun activities we do on your days off. You can go for jogs, rock climbing, go to the lake, painting. Oh! The poetry night we did, you seem to really enjoy that. You, and your father can cook meals, and try new recipes. Maybe go out and create some new jutsu's or go and explore-"
"Hinata." Naruto cleared his throat as he turned his focus from his food, to her. She was talking regular at first, then she just started flying off the henges and talking in lighting speed. He's never heard Hinata talk so fast. Not even at her most excited in their entire marriage.
Hinata looked at Naruto and blinked in confusion before catching herself. A heavy blush dusting her cheeks, but Boruto only smiled at her. "Yeah. If he doesn't fall asleep when he gets off of work. We probably could do a couple of those things. You have the energy of a thousand men mom, you can keep up with us unlike dad."
Himawari burst out in a fit of giggles while shaking her head, and Boruto laughed as Naruto gave him a pointed look. "You're going to have a blast with your father Boruto. He's the only person I know that could make something out of nothing, and make it fun. Just you wait." Hinata smiled proudly at her son, while she talked about Naruto, and Boruto gave her a challenging smirk.
"Alright mom! You're on!" Boruto made a fist and reached over the table for Hinata to pound it. The two making a bet between one another. Laughing at each other. Naruto looked at the exchange completely flabbergasted. It looked like Hinata had picked up some of Boruto's antics during his time away from them.
He missed that moment.
Hanabi looked over at Naruto and saw the hurt in his eyes as he watched Hinata and Boruto. What he missed. He missed Boruto and Hinata's bond intensify. "Yeah…your dad was pretty cool while I was growing up." Naruto looked at Hanabi when she said this, and the two shared a look before he looked away. Not really accepting her peace offering, and not rejecting it either.
He knew it wasn't entirely Hanabi's fault for what happened. However, Naruto knows this isn't Hanabi's first time in trying to get Hinata to leave him. She's done this before, and she was just successful this time around when Hinata was already in a weak state. So, this just let Naruto know it wouldn't be Hanabi's last time of trying something behind his back.
That being said, he's the one that gave Hanabi a reason to push for the separation. He was at fault, Hinata was, and so was Hanabi. Naruto was man enough to take majority of the blame, because he wasn't there for Hinata when she needed him.
Hinata has bent over backwards and was always there for him. Even now, when his kids were ragging on him. Right now, Naruto and Hinata weren't even sleeping in the same room, and Hinata was still defending him. There was no excuse for him not to be there for her in the past, or now. Work just wasn't that important. During the invasion, that's what pushed Hinata over the edge, and Naruto should have noticed that.
Blinking, a thought crossed Naruto's mind. The invasion. Hinata tried to get to him, and was hit with an attack. She has Ōtsutsuki chakra in her, and a lot of this has been happening after the invasion. "Are you okay Naruto?" He looked at Konohamaru when Konohamaru asked him this. Naruto played it off with a grin and shrugged it off.
The rest of the dinner went on just fine, and before Hinata knew it, she was in Ino's home. In her living room. Naruto called Ino yesterday, and asked for a way for Ino to make this as private as possible. Which Ino didn't disappoint, and told them to come over to her home. Inojin was out with team ten, and Sai was at Anbu headquarters. It was just Ino, Naruto and Hinata.
"It's a pleasure to have you forced to see me Hinata." Ino smiled at Hinata brightly and Hinata gave her a nervous laugh in return. Hinata knew Ino got wind that she was trying to avoid having her mind probed, and that probably offended Ino. She felt like Hinata thought she would go out and gossip about what they found out. "Ino, I apologize. Perhaps it was a mixture of me being afraid someone would find out about this, and me being afraid of finding out something devastating."
Ino's eyes slid over to Naruto before she looked back at Hinata. "What you want me to share, I'll share. What you want to stay locked up in that head of yours, it will stay. No one will know what went on in your mind except me and you. Okay?"
Relaxing her shoulders, Hinata nodded her head in understanding. Still, she felt a headache starting to consume her.
Hinata let Ino take her hand and guide her into a bedroom. It looked like a meditation room. It had a massage bed for Hinata to lay on, and she did. There was a recliner in the room, and that's where Naruto sat. It had no windows inside this room and was dark. Hinata heard the faint sound of water and saw a desk fountain next to the massage bed. It was a therapeutic room for sure.
Hinata felt Ino start to massage her shoulders and flinched. Her hands instinctively gripping Ino's hands to stop her. "Relax Hinata. Close your eyes, and relax. It's just me, you and Naruto in here. Just relax."
Hinata took a deep breath and closed her eyes. She could feel Ino's hands come up to her neck, and then her face, her fingers rubbing her temples. Easing her headache away.
"See that wasn't so hard."
Hinata opened her eyes and looked at Ino. They weren't in her office anymore, and appeared to be standing near the edge of a cliff. Below the cliff was a huge canyon of nothingness, except for one spot in the distance. It was at the end of the canyon and from what Hinata could make out, it looked like a blizzard was taking place there.
"You see that Hinata? That cold spot over there. That snow storm. That's the white chakra Sakura was talking about. You being in turmoil right now. Your mind is blocking even sensing this chakra, and that's why you've been so blind to the fact that it's been there. It's small though, so I honestly would estimate it's been growing for about four months. That's not the real thing we're here for though."
Ino turned Hinata around and behind the cliff was a cabin. Taking Hinata's hand, the two women went into the cabin, and there was a series of doors on both the left and right side.
"All the doors are closed, because you closed them off Hinata. This is your mind, and these doors are memories that you hide from not only your loved ones, but yourself. You try to suppress what's behind these doors, and forget about them. What you don't know is, with all these doors closed, it creates a pressure in your head because nothing can circulate. That pressure creates the headaches, the insomnia and the intense anxiety. That is what the white chakra is storming over, from what's in here. It won't show itself to you, until you address what is here. You have to be at peace to handle this chakra it seems like."
Putting her hand on one of the door knobs, Ino looked back at Hinata. Checking to see if Hinata was to take the next step of this session. "With your permission. We can open a door, one by one, and tackle whatever memory is behind each one. The headaches will lessen, or go away all together. The pain in your body will go away, and you can properly handle the chakra imbalance. However, you will now have to deal with the pain behind the doors. How you were properly supposed to handle it Hinata. Can I continue with you?"
Looking at Ino, and then looking back at the door, Hinata took a deep breath and nodded her head. "Yes. Please, let's continue."
Ino gave a firm head nod and opened the door. It was Hinata in the hospital bed, after the invasion against Konoha during Boruto's Chunin exams. Boruto preparing to leave with Sasuke. Hinata at first protesting, and then moments later agreeing for her son to pursue his father, and save him.
Hinata grimaced at the memory. "I will never forgive myself for allowing that to happen." Ino chewed her bottom lip as she looked at Hinata. "This was a very murky situation Hinata. Even if I was in your situation. I wouldn't know what to do."
"Yes you would. You do not have to attempt to make me feel better Ino. No one has to make any excuses for me. It was not the right decision. I could have lost not only Naruto, but Boruto as well, and I am supposed to protect my children. Not send them to do an adults duty."
Taking a deep breath Hinata shook her head, and took Ino's hand off the door to leave it open. "This is something me and Naruto have briefly talked over. This is something I can share more with him. I have no issue leaving this open."
Ino smiled at Hinata and didn't say anything else as she moved to the next door. Opening it to reveal Himawari's birthday a few months ago. How Naruto's shadow clone dispersed, and how that moment itself ruined her daughter's birthday.
That specific moment of the cake falling, and Himawari's crestfallen face. That kept replaying over, and over in the memory. It was a memory of many that showed Hinata having to do damage control for Naruto's absence. "This can stay open. Me and Naruto are actively working on this."
Ino looked at Hinata after watching the memory a few times over. The saddened look on Himawari's face and the utter rage on Boruto's. "Do not take this the wrong way Hinata, but you are a better woman than me. For enduring all you have."
Ino would have been made Naruto feel her wrath. The first time he disappointed their children.
Hinata was too understanding, and Naruto was, and would forever be, a soft spot for Hinata. Ino could see the 'fed up' energy Hinata was starting to have though. Naruto was more so following Hinata now, than the other way around. Surely being separated for over two months would do that to a man fighting for his marriage.
Moving on to the next door, Ino opened it to show a little Hinata. Being held by a foreign ninja. Ino concluding this was when Hinata was kidnapped as a little girl. The scene replayed over, and over of her father rescuing her. "I kind of can see why this is something you suppress. At the same time, I'm a little confused. Your father saved you. Yet, you don't ever talk about this."
Hinata watched the moment and clicked her tongue against her teeth. "This was the beginning of the end of my childhood. I lost my uncle shortly after this. Of course you know of the coverup. Afterwards, me and Neji lost our bond, and I lost my father. He practically disowned me. I had no mother, for she had died shortly after Hanabi was born. So, after I lost my mother and uncle. I lost my father. He turned on me, and deemed me pathetic. I was…alone at six years old. For a very long time, I was alone."
Hinata's eyes glossed over, and Ino could tell she was shutting out the moment. Yet, Hinata pushed the door open further. "This can stay open. Naruto knows about this. Hanabi knows about this. I can talk about it. I just need to take my time with this particular subject."
It interested Ino that Naruto knew about this, but Ino didn't probe it any further with Hinata. Ino found herself angered that Naruto went through hardship of being alone, and mistreated. Knew about Hinata going through something privately that wasn't the same, but similar. Yet, he didn't see her sinking months ago?
It wasn't Ino's job to take this personal, but she was starting to. Naruto saw it. From the very beginning. Ino knows he did. The real question was, why didn't Naruto DO anything about it?
Without saying anything, Ino went to the next door. Opening it, and she was expecting this sooner or later, but it was Neji. Him taking the deadly hit in Hinata and Naruto's place. Neji dying. "Do you feel as if you don't cope with this well Hinata? What are you hiding with this memory?"
A single tear fell from Hinata's eye, and she smiled as she wiped it away. "That I wish it was me. That Neji did not deserve to die. Perhaps he would have done the world a lot more good than I."
Ino placed her hands on her hips and tucked her head down as she looked at the ground. Not wanting Hinata to see her becoming emotional at the declaration. She soon lifted her head up, and looked at Hinata. Her face red from straining to keep it together.
"I usually don't have such clients that are so close to me. So, I don't have to take things personal like this. Sai was the last time I had to make something personal when entering one's mind. To hear you say that Hinata. It really hurts, because you DESERVE to be here. I want you here. Naruto wants you here. Your children, and sister, and father. People LOVE you Hinata. Neji loved you very much and that's why he did what he did. Neji wants you here Hinata. You mourn Neji more as a way to apologize to him, than to show your respect and love to him."
Hinata nodded her head, because Ino was right at the end. She was apologizing to Neji every day. "I don't feel as if I'm living the life Neji wanted me to live. I just want to show him that his death was not in vain. The world is a better place because of him, but not only that, I am a better person because of him. I do love my life Ino, and I love my kids. Very, very much. I love my family. I…I just want to love myself. I know that's what would make Neji happy, but I struggle to know how to do that."
"Then LIVE Hinata. Live and LEARN. It'll all come into play as you do those things. Don't give up. Can I leave this door open?" Hinata was hesitant this time around, but she let Ino leave the door open, and they went to the next door. When she opened this door, Hinata almost stumbled and fell backwards as she tried to back away from the room. From the memory.
Both women saw Hinata, Neji and Hanabi. They were young. Hanabi had to be around six, and Hinata ten. Neji twelve. Already marked with the caged bird seal. It was clear as day on his forehead.
Ino watched the memory, and saw this older Hyuga woman. She had the same color hair as Hinata, and almost looked like her. "That is my aunt. My mother's sister."
Hinata muttered this, as she watched her aunt walk over to Hanabi and yank her arm. In an attempt to snatch her up. Yelling at Hanabi that she wasn't doing a certain taijutsu move correctly, and before the woman got the opportunity to hit Hanabi, Hinata interfered. Hinata pushed Neji from stopping her, and pushed her aunt to the ground with all her little might.
The woman quickly got up. Her eyebrow arched in amusement at Hinata's defiance. She pointed a threatening finger to Neji's forehead when she saw him make a move to block her from Hinata.
Hinata stood in front of Neji and Hanabi. She would always try, no matter how weak she was, to protect them. Even if Hanabi was tough, and even though Neji 'hated' her. When their aunt approached Hinata, she back handed her. So hard Hinata fell on the floor, and her mouth bled. Hanabi was screaming. When her aunt made to silence Hanabi, Hinata stopped her again. She was slapped again, and this time her aunt did not stop.
The older woman hit Hinata until she ran out of steam, and with a final kick to Hinata's stomach, their aunt left them. Hinata taking the entire abuse, taking on all of the burden.
Neji picked Hinata up, and guided Hanabi out of the training area. Taking them to Hinata's room to recover. This scene replayed over and over. Making Hinata visibly shake, until she couldn't take it any longer, and reached to shut the door. Out of everything, she couldn't take this.
Neji. Hanabi. She failed both of them.
Her childhood memories was a testament that she couldn't save her own children now. "I…I can't keep this open Ino. I-I…I am so sorry, but I can't."
Ino looked at the now closed door, and for the life of her, she couldn't form any words. She couldn't make herself talk. Ino was finding it hard to breathe herself. "Hinata…I…I didn't know."
When Ino went to touch Hinata, her friend recoiled from her. Like she did her aunt, like Ino was going to hit her. "Hinata. I think you should leave this door open. You need to overcome this one. Does Naruto know about this?"
"No. I do not want him to know. He thinks the worse about my father and family already. My father doesn't deserve this. I have found peace with him, and he is a good man. He didn't harm me as a child, it was all from my aunt. I cannot let Naruto know about this…Hanabi needs me right now."
Hinata was talking hysterical, and Ino wasn't going for it. "Hanabi always needs you Hinata. You may not notice because your sister has a big bite, but historically your sister in some way needs you. You cannot keep being there for everyone. It's okay to be selfish."
"No. Hanabi was there for me when I needed her. I will always be there for her." Ino frowned at Hinata and forced her friend to look at her. "Hanabi is there for you because you allow it. You pushed everyone away because only you and Hanabi know about this past. No one else knows, and you two MAKE SURE no one else knows. How can we be there for you, and see the signs, if you won't let us in Hinata."
Pointing to the door, Ino was reaching her breaking point. "THIS IS NOT OKAY! What you experienced for years is NOT OKAY! Hinata you HAVE to tell Naruto."
This was something Hinata wouldn't budge on. She refused. "You cannot tell Naruto, Ino. You said what is in my mind, stayed between me and you. I want this to stay." Ino blinked back tears. Hinata wasn't going to budge and she wasn't going to tell Naruto, or anyone.
Granted Hinata allowed a lot of doors to stay open. This was a big one. Ino really hoped Naruto was able to crack Hinata open to get this out of her. This is where the healing can really be completed.
"You're not going to get better if you hold this in Hinata. I can tell this is one of your worst memories. This is what haunts you heavily."
Hinata looked at the door and refused to cry over the memory anymore. "It is, and it is what I will take to my grave. I will take this madness, because I'm not sharing it Ino. Please, understand this."
Letting out a heavy sigh, Ino left the door alone. "You're really breaking my heart Hinata." When they arrived to the last door, Ino looked back at Hinata. She was frowning because this wasn't how she intended the session to go. So bittersweet. "I can sense this door is the strongest. So I don't know what memory this is, however I advise you keep this one open Hinata."
When Ino opened the door, both women stepped back in shock. This memory was alive and facing them. "Hello Hinata."
End of chapter.
Don't kill me for Naruto still taking a pounding. It'll get someone better for him. I have to make him hurt a little longer. Still, they're in the same house together now! Just sleeping in separate rooms.
So did Naruto know Hinata was on the decline or not? This is the big question now. Will be revealed and discussed later.
Hanabi is trying half heartedly, and Naruto still cannot stand her guts.
Now for the fun talk: The introduction of the white chakra. This will be a big focus of this story. That, and Hinata's aunt like I said last chapter. Also, I am sure we all know who was behind that door. If you don't know, you'll see next Friday.
See you then!
