Derek was shocked to see the story that he had just finished writing playing out before his very eyes. He decided that he should intervene because Dave the Octopus was trying to take over the multi-verse. He had to get his timing right, so he could successfully tackle and stop Dave. Derek jumped towards Dave and accidentally pushed him in the Portal.
SKIPPER: Aw, man, he got away!
KOWALSKI: With Dave now out of this dimension, he cause a major catastrophe
PRIVATE: The multi-verse is now in danger!
RICO: *SCREECHES*
Derek felt a lot of guilt. He had disrupted his own story and now the world he had created was in danger.
DEREK: Hey, penguins! I'm sorry that I let Dave get out of this dimension. I can help you retrieve him.
SKIPPER: Who are you?
DEREK: My name is Derek I'm your biggest fan!
SKIPPER: Oh! your a fan of us? Awesome
KOWALSKI: You seem so cool
PRIVATE: He should join our team
RICO: *SCREECHES*
The penguins loved Derek, and this was by design. These are not the penguins from the Madagascar movies, these are the versions of them from the fanfic written by Derek. Keep this in mind because this will be very important later.
SKIPPER: We need to find and stop Dave!
PRIVATE: But how?
KOWALSKI: We're gonna need to find a machine that can send us to another universe. I heard there's one at Area 51.
RICO: *SCREECHES*
SKIPPER: Alright, team, let's go to Area 51!
DEREK: Yeah!
And so the penguins and Derek began their journey, but it wouldn't be easy.
