Hello readers, while I know most don't consider Izumina to be a canon ship, it's a fun one that makes me happy. This is my first real fanfiction I've written so I hope you enjoy*

A Peaceful Nights Sleep

An Izumina story

By M3rc22

Chapter 1:

It hadn't been but a few days since everyone in Class 1-A had moved into the newly constructed dorm buildings. Everyone was getting situated and unpacking their things and seeing what everyone else was doing. Most people were close to done with their room decorating and furnishing but there were a few that were still in the process.

Mina had finished her room yesterday and was in love with it. She had styled everything exactly the way she wanted it. Her parents gave her some freedoms with her room at home but they still didn't want her going over board with her loud style. However, this dorm room was hers and she went all out. Almost everything was either pink and black leopard print or pink and black tiger stripe and she loved it.

After the other day where all the students had shown their rooms off in a friendly contest, Mina decided that she wanted her room to be a fun hangout spot. She ordered two beanbags, one pink and one black, asked her dad to bring up her tv from home, and stocked up on snacks and drinks in her complimentary room fridge.

Later she sent out a group text to a couple of her friends.

"Hey guys I'm all done with my room and I'd love for y'all to come hangout later. We can watch a movie or something. It'll be totally fun"

"I'm in" : Sero

"TOTALLY!!!" : Hagakure

"I'm down." : Jiro

"Snacks?" : Kaminari

"How did you get my number?!" : Bakugo

"I'm doing some late day training and I'm not sure when I'll be done but if you guys are still hanging out when it's finished then I'd love to come by!" : Izuku

"Seriously, how did you get my number?! It was Shitty Hair wasn't it!" : Bakugo

Mina went through and responded to each question.

"Yes there will be snacks Denki."

"Come by whenever Midori"

"Not telling bakubro"

With that, she tossed her phone on her bed and began excitedly straightening up her room. My She didn't want to invite everyone since obviously her room wasn't big enough but she also wanted to see how she liked having her room being the chill spot. If it started being too overwhelming then she could just say it was a one time hangout.

After dinner with the class, mostly everyone

went back to their individual rooms to sleep, study, or whatever. At about 7:30, her friends began trickling into her room. Sero and Denki came together with Jiro and Hagakure a minute behind them. Everyone was wearing pajamas and having fun lounging in her room.

Izuku had said he'd be late but Bakugo wasn't here either. Mina pulled out her phone and called him.

"What do you want Horns?" He answered in an annoyed tone. Mina rolled her eyes, at least it was better than calling her Raccoon Eyes.

"We are hanging out in my room remember?"

"Forget it, I'm not in the mood."

Mina suddenly got a funny idea.

"You sure? I just wanted to invite you because I overheard Denki saying that he would absolutely rock your shit in Smash Bros."

"SPARKPLUG SAID WHAT?!" He shouted over the phone before instantly hanging up the phone.

"Hey Denki?" Mina turned around slowly, "you like Smash Bros right?"

"I mean yeah, I'm not really good at it though," he said only paying half attention to her while he sucked on two double A batteries like a jolly ranchers, "I'm more of a casual player, why?"

Mina winced at his reaction, "No reason," she said before turning on smash bros on her tv. No sooner did she finish that Bakugo slammed her door open and point a finger at Denki.

"You and me! Right now! I am undefeated in Smash and there's no way you could beat me!"

Denki's batteries fell out of his mouth in shock (lol) before he glanced in Mina's direction.

"Sorry" she silently mouthed at Denki as the hot headed blond snatched up a controller and got ready to whoop the electric hero.

For the next hour, Mina, Sero, Hagakure, and Jiro chatted while Bakugo played round after round with Denki. Bakugo would play a new character every round to show he could beat Denki as any character, meanwhile Denki just played pikachu over and over.

It was 9:45 when there was a quiet knock on the door and a mop of green hair poked its head in.

"Hey, everyone still here?" Izuku asked, opening the door fully to let himself in.

"Midori you made it!" Mina exclaimed happily, "come on in, there are snacks and drinks in the fridge."

Izuku walked over rubbing the back of his neck, indicating how sore he was from his training. He looked over and saw Bakugo's Sephiroth obliterating Denki's Pikachu in Smash.

"AND DIE!" Bakugo shouted as he knocked Denki off the map ending the game.

"Alright! I get it, you're the king of smash bros!," Denki sighed putting his controller down, "I submit! It's been 15 games, I'm done."

Bakugo stood up with his cocky grin and cracked his knuckles.

"And don't you forget it!"

The explosive hero turned around to leave and completely missed the fact that Izuku was there, a fact that Izuku was perfectly fine with. He left the room slamming the door for good measure.

"Well at least he hung out for a while," Mina said with a shrug.

"Yeah, thanks a lot, Ashido," Denki said sarcastically cracking open a fresh package of batteries from his pocket, putting one in his mouth.

"Is it safe for you to do that?" Hagakure asked Denki, "I know you have electricity powers but still."

Denki leaned back in his beanbag with the battery sticking out his mouth like a thick lollipop stick.

"Oh yeah it's fine. My mom found me doing it as a kid and when she asked the doctor about it they said it was actually beneficial for me."

He paused briefly while trying to think of a way to describe it.

"It's kinda like how an inhaler helps asthmatic people breathe better except I don't need to do it, it just helps and feels good. It kinda feels the same as pop rocks. I tried crunching down on it once and it tasted nasty so I just suck the electricity out of them now."

While Denki continued to talk, Mina glanced over at Izuku and saw his eyes were practically glazed over. He looked exhausted and she could tell that he needed to rest.

"Hey Midori?" Mina whispered to him. He snapped out of his trance and looked at her with a dazed look.

"You can lay down if you need to, I don't mind," Mina quietly said as she scooted over on the edge of the bed so he could lay down fully.

He looked at the bed with what almost looked like sadness, like the thought of lying down was a painful one. However a look of acceptance spread across his face and he slowly crawled up her bed and collapsed face first into Mina's pillows. She took one of her throw blankets and draped it over him.

Mina kicked her feet up on the bed so she was parallel with Izuku except her back was up against the headboard. His head was near her leg and she could see his eyes still open. He was either in deep thought or something was bothering him. Unsure as to which and not wanting to pry, Mina just reached down with her left hand and began playing with his hair and very gently scratching his head with her nails.

There was an almost immediate reaction from the boy. His entire face relaxed and his shoulders slumped even more into the bed. It was as if he stopped fighting to try to stay awake and just succumbed to his exhaustion.

A caring smile appeared on the pink hero's face as she continued to gently play with the poor boys hair. Her and Izuku weren't super close friends the way that he was with Iida and Ochako but she felt like they were good enough friends where her playing with his hair wasn't weird.

His breathing began to slow and ease. Even though their friends were still talking at a normal volume, it had no effect on the sleeping teen. Mina found herself watching Izuku sleep intermittently over the next half hour. He seemed so peaceful. He was always a generally good looking guy but right now watching him sleep was the first time Mina had ever considered him cute. She knew that she was a very chaotic sleeper, flopping all over the place, drooling, and snoring. Definitely the opposite of a cute sleeper.

Jiro noticed the time and stands up with a yawn and a big stretch.

"This was super fun but it's 10:45 and I definitely need to go to bed."

The rest of the group agreed and all began standing up and gathering things. Denki picked up all his depleted batteries, Sero his many chip bag wrappers, and Hagakure floated her bottles of Ramune over to the recycling bin.

"Should we wake up Midoriya?" Sero commented before he left. Mina looked down at their unconscious friend. She had still been gently scratching his head and had grown fond of his sleeping presence.

"Nah, it's ok, I'll let him know you guys said bye."

As the last of her friends left her room, she realized that she was now alone in her dorm with a boy. The thought made her blush for a brief moment.

"I mean, it's Izuku, it's not the same, he's just a friend," she thought to herself. "He's just tired"

The pink haired teen scooted down so that she could lay flat on her bed. Deku was still a bit lower than her so she shifted her hand more towards his back and softly drug her nails across his shoulders. She began scrolling on her phone with her right hand while soothing Izuku with her left.

"His body was oddly warm," Mina thought absentmindedly. Not feverish, just warm. It felt nice since she was usually cold. Mina could've gotten under the covers if she really wanted to warm up but she had given them to Izuku and she wasn't sure if he was ok with that so she stayed on top the covers.

She usually slept either in underwear or in basketball shorts but she kept her pajamas on out of respect for Izuku as well as for warmth.

As the clock got closer to 11:15, Mina contemplated waking her sleeping friend up. Right as she was thinking this, Izuku's arm moved and fell over her low stomach. Mina's arms shot up in a "woah what's happening" kinda way. He pulled her closer to him which resulted in his head now lying on her chest with his face practically buried in her neck.

Mina was frozen in shock. She didn't know what to do. He was still asleep but now he had pretty much trapped her in an embrace. She still hand one hand above his shoulder. Bringing it down slowly, Mina rested it on his back in a soft hug.

The sleeping Izuku stayed wrapped around Mina's waist with his ear against her chest feeling her heartbeat and listening to the rise and fall of her breath.

"My god he is so warm," Mina thought to herself, this time paying attention to how close his body was. He was only a little bit taller than the acid-wielder but now Mina could feel the weight difference between them. She knew he was muscular from his quirk and relentless training but feeling his form now she realized that he was way more toned than she had assumed.

It started to become apparent to Mina that Izuku was not waking up anytime soon.

"Would it really be all that bad if he stayed?"

"He's just sleeping, no harm there."

"Plus his body just feels nice"

Woah where had that thought come from?

She had made sure to not touch anything that he might not be comfortable with, mostly sticking to his head and shoulders. But she couldn't really deny that last thought either. He really did feel nice. He was like a warm, weighted blanket.

"If he wakes up, he's free to leave. If he doesn't wake up, he's welcome here," Mina decided. Besides, tomorrow was Saturday so it's not like any early risers might see him leaving in the morning.

With that decision, Mina closed her eyes and leaned her head onto Izuku as he snuggled up into her arms. Normally, it took her a while to fall asleep, but after a few minutes, Mina drifted off to sleep holding her friend in her arms without a care in the world.
