"Where are those two?" muttered sakura, irritated by Kakashi's and Naruto's absence. She and Sasuke have been here since seven in the morning and they are very hungry, dammit! Kakashi told them not to eat before the test too. She swallowed some saliva, "Thirsty as well." It has been six hours since they got here.
"Well... ain't this a sight for sore eyes", said a familiar voice. At that Sakura was upon him.
"WHERE WERE YOU! Idiot!?" She shouted at him thirsty and hungry.
Naruto sighed at the sight of her as he entered the clearing, she was not looking healthy right now. He quickly retrieved the scroll from his pouch and walked towards a large tree , under its shade, he placed his scroll on the grass. He bit his thumb and went through hand signs.
Afterwards, he slammed both of his hands on the scroll and a cloud of white smoke erupted.
"What is he doing?" asked Sakura as she quickly glanced at the Uchiha, who stared at her blankly and shrugged.
After the cloud of smoke had disappeared, there sat there three bento boxes which held food and drinks. Sakura almost visibly drooled at the sight. She was so hungry she could pass out.
"Naruto, Kakashi sensei told us not to eat anything before the test." Sakura impatiently reprimanded, not confident of what she was saying at all, and sasuke nodded next to her but walked to the tree and sat next to the Bento boxes.
Naruto sighed "No... he didn't, he only recommended that we shouldn't eat.", said the Uzumaki thoughtfully, "and if you ask me, I'd say, his full of it. Fighting with an empty stomach is a death sentence and also I saw that in a book once, that sometimes in war, nations would surround an enemy village, prevent them from leaving their village in search of food and resources from outside of it. Once they've exhausted their food and resources, they would be weak because of starvation. and said nation would simply be taken over by the other village that had surrounded it, without much of a fight." He paused and frowned, a thought sprang forth from his mind, 'the world was a cruel place...' he sighed before saying " Listen. Let's just eat, okay? if you don't wanna then don't.
Sakura, who was hungry and wouldn't object to it anymore, looked on at the blonde in awe and once more was confused about the boy's intelligence, but looking at the food she decided to set it aside for another day. She moved to sit in between both of them and they all feasted in silence.

The blonde frowned in concentration, he was sitting on the middle of the training ground Indian style. He was aware of his surroundings from Sakura who was under the shade of a tree at the edge, resting, to Sasuke who was practicing with his kunai. He went on expending his senses, training them, so they encompassed the entire field. Sharp senses could be useful in times of need.
"About time you showed up... sensei" groaned out the Uzumaki. As he opened his eyes right where kakashi had just appeared. Sasuke stopped practicing his strikes when he heard what was said and glanced to where Naruto's eyes were staring. There, near the forest at edge of training ground, was the jonin.
"Now now, my little genin's. A black cat had crossed my path so I had to take the long way around." he said smiling sheepishly, walking towards the trio with a slow stride.
"LIAR!" said the pinkette as she got up from the shade. Her teammates simply frowned at the blatant lie. He smiled under his mask having noticed that they didn't look worn out. 'That means that they didn't take my advice. Good.'
"I see you ignored my advice, huh?" he asked.
"hn, your advice was full of flaws and it was quite dumb actually, so we didn't take it seriously" said Naruto sternly.
Kakashi laughed, "You might regret that, you know." he joked knowing that it was an empty threat. He pocketed his hands in his pocket. "Alright. Gather around." he said once more losing his teasing tone.
Kakashi waited until all of them were standing in front of him. He ruffled the pockets of his trousers and pulled out two bells, and tied each bell to his pants with a red ribbon . "Well... the test is... you have to take these bells from me and who ever doesn't get a bell will be sent back to the academy…"
" Ah, but sensei, there is only two bells... you don't mean..." Sakura was cut off by Kakashi before she could finish.
" Yes. That means one of you, will fail no matter what, seeing as there's only two bells." said the jonin seriously.
Sakura was visibly shaken, Sasuke had a frown on his face and Naruto just Stared off at a distance his mind wondering. To him, this was fishy. He had never heard of a three man genin squad. 'Was he testing their independency?...no... that's not it' he thought. 'Then what was he after?'
"Alright then... begin" said the jonin, not giving them enough time to think it over.
Sakura and Sasuke dashed for cover in the forest but the blonde boy remained. He stared at kakashi, as if suddenly he would get answers to his questions by just staring at him.
"What are you up to... sensei?" he decided on being blunt. 'What was he trying to accomplish by this. It made no sense' Naruto thought to himself. 'Why would he want to pit us against each other. And to just drop a bomb like that as if daring us to...Could it-'
"Don't think too much kid, or your head will explode." muttered the jonin absently, as he took out a book and began reading it in front of them. Daring him to do anything.
'Yeah... I'm not a big fan of this guy.' thought the Uzumaki. So the blonde decided that he had had enough. He sprinted forward to Kakashi who seemingly was oblivious to everything around him, but in reality he wasn't and Naruto knew it. Understanding this, he launched himself into the air above kakashi and curled his body to deliver a axe kick. Kakashi caught it , but to Naruto's pleasure, Kakashi had underestimated the kicks strength and impact causing Kakashi to lose his grip.
The blonde had rejoiced at the results, and with the same leg, threw a hasty stomp at Kakashi's face. Kakashi swayed to the side, grabbing Naruto's leg and threw him away.
Regardless of what everyone thought of Naruto, he wasn't stupid and he had proved that to himself first and he would prove it to the world too. He knew that he had no chance at defeating kakashi on his own, there was just no way.
" This kid..." said kakashi impressed by the power behind the kick. 'This kid is something.'
"Well... I try" muttered the blonde as he landed on his feet, whilst looking for openings, already itching for a good fight.
"Looks like I won't be able to read." said the jonin in mock sadness and pocketed his book away. As he finished pocketing it away, he instantly appeared in front of the blonde and delivered a bone crushing punch at his chest. Naruto was sure that something had gotten broken by that punch. It sent him flying away, but quickly, the blonde was able to regain control over his body. Mid air, he twisted his body and planted his feet on the ground trying to stop himself from slamming against a tree stump, but he managed to stop the momentum. To him that was good enough.
He immediately sprinted forward, and went in a multitude of hand signs and slammed both of his hands together.
"Wind style: vacuum wave"
Out of Naruto's mouth shot out a Large and two sharp wind blades that were in a shape of an x. Kakashi went through multiple hand signs himself and slammed both of his hands on the ground.
"Earth style: Mud wall"
The ground quickly rose into a thick wall, and the Blondes jutsu slammed in the hardened wall of mud. It did damage on the wall but didn't go through it. Kakashi sighed, he had previously seen the jutsu before, it had been used on one of his ANBU teammates once, ah. yes. it is indeed a lethal jutsu. If that jutsu had been perfected, it might have done serious damage on him, but Naruto's attempt though …' is Weaker than I thought...' at that kakashi disappeared.

To Sasuke, who was hiding on one of the forest trees, he was, for a lack of a better word, flabbergasted. Naruto hadn't been this good at the academy, after all he was the dead last, with no talent at all. So, where did the Dobe learn to pull off a stunt like this. At times Naruto was no more than a blur to Sasuke. One thing was clear to him, the blonde had faked being weak, if so then how much was he hiding and just how strong is he?
Sasuke could feel the jealousy creeping up at him. The blonde was so strong, he might be stronger then him actually and to Sasuke that didn't sound right to him. he was the one who was supposed to be the strongest amongst his peers. No... he won't let anyone out shine him. He was the one who is going to defeat one of the strongest shinobi this world has ever seen and for that he has to be the strongest, not the Dobe. One thing is clear…
"I need to train harder after this."
Sakura was having similar thoughts to her black haired teammate. To her, Naruto had always been a dummy, but sometimes he'd surprise her by saying one of the most intelligent statements that she had ever heard from him. Now seeing how capable he was…She wasn't too surprised, but still...dammit. He was supposed to be an moron but now he was proving to be an exceptional ninja.
Sakura was impressed by the blonde, he had single handily went toe to toe with a jonin a had almost succeeded in retrieving the bells. 'Just how strong are you Naruto?' she imagined that no one would believe her if she were to tell them that the Uzumaki might be as strong as sasuke or is as strong as him. They would laugh at her and simply dismiss her. She had to wonder though sometimes, if this was real or not. One thing was certain though… she needed to find Sasuke.

Kakashi frowned, "Naruto... who taught you that Jutsu?"
The blonde was looking dishevelled. Sweat and dirt clung to his clothes as he took a few steps towards the jonin and halted a few meters away from Kakashi, with an emotionless expression on his face.
"Well... I really don't think it's any of your business, you can ask the third Hokage for that." muttered the blonde annoyed by the white haired shinobi.
"I see...that's unfortunate then, I have-"
"Let's. Do. This! I need those bells." he said menacingly. No one is allowed to stand between him and his goals. This man in front of him, is the wall he must overcome to progress. But. this whole test is... frustrating to him.
He should've expected it, based on how easy it was to pass at the academy. He was interrupted by Kakashi who suddenly appeared in front of him and already in the motion of a round house kick on the side of the blonde's face and sent him rolling on the ground.
'Shit.. he's fast.' he thought to himself as he used his hands to quickly boost himself up into the air and flipped, landing on a crouching motion. He summoned 10 shadow clones and all of them rushed the jonin. Kakashi dodged the first clones charge and was met with another trying to punch him, he kicked it in the stomach, dispelling it, grabbed both hands of one of the clone that was trying to yoink the bells and knees it on the chin deleting it from existence.
He realized quickly what they were trying to do. Hastily He performed back flips trying to get space in-between himself and the clones that were flanking him.
Once he was far away enough he took out one kunai from his pouch, they were still sprinting towards him and suddenly they stopped and backed away a little.
Kakashi was confused until he smelt something like burnt toast, he looked at his shoulder and saw an explosive tag and he cussed as the explosives went off, courtesy of the blonde himself.

Kakashi reappeared on one of the trees branches and sighed, he had substituted himself with a log. Next to him he heard a twig break. 'This kid...' he quickly he glanced on his right, the Uzumaki tried to take advantage of the situation by trying to grab the bells from the jonin.
'I've had enough.' thought kakashi. The blonde only slightly touched the bells, only to find himself kicked in the face and sent flying away and in to a huge water pond.
Naruto resurfaced from underwater and sighs, all while floating in the pond. He could hear the remaining Kakashi fighting the remaining clones. He was tired and he had failed on getting the bells when he was still in good condition, what chance did he have now? None.
He knew that. He continued to float atop the water, motionless for a couple of moments. He had to figure out something.

Kakashi sighed at the sight of Sakura who was in the ground passed out because of his genjutsu. She really needs to step up otherwise she's going to end up being a burden to her teammates. Her obsession to the Uchiha is blinding and negates her from reaching her full potential. Well, all considered, her goals are decent, wanting to be a strong kunoichi and also marrying the love of her life, is good enough motivation. But evidently, right now, she's obviously not mature enough to realize that. 'Well, off to the next one i suppose. The Uchiha.'

Sasuke was not happy at the moment. he was stuck in the hole on the ground and the jonin who was crouching in front of him was taunting him at his failed attempts at the bells. He really didn't want to hear what he had to say, not up to being lectured after being humiliated like that by the same opponent who was supposed to be fighting him.
"Do you know why you lost Sasuke?"
"hn."
"Did you really think that you had a chance at the bells? All of you kids, are all the same. Your arrogance has never failed to disappoint me, you only think of yourselves and nothing else." said the copy ninja Kakashi lazily, disappointed by all these genin who thought they could face off against a jonin individually. Did they really lack the ability to think. It should be glaringly obvious of what they are supposed to do. At least the blonde might have realized it but, he had seen him pondering it, before dismissing it. Why had he dismissed it? Kakashi didn't know but he wasn't about to help him after all they are his enemies at this test.
"Well I'm off, think it over kid, a person can only do so much." muttered the jonin absently before disappearing in a cloud of smoke. not caring about what he had said at the end.

" Hey wake up" said Naruto while slightly shaking the asleep Sakura. She needed to wake up, he had a plan. He wasn't entirely sure about it, but it was worth a try. It was the only solution he could come up with, and it was the only solution that was glaring at all of them, as if daring them to try. He didn't know if his teammates would want to team up with him or not, but it was worth a try, he guessed.
"Sasuke-kun!" Screamed out the now awake Sakura and She was shaking as well. 'Great' thought Naruto sarcastically. "hey hey hey, your fine... your okay... Sasuke is fine as well, he's waiting for us. ", he awaited for her to pull herself together. Once she had calmed down a little, he extended his hand. She looked at it for a while before relenting. Once she was up, still shivering a little, he settled on rubbing her back lightly in a soothing manner, not knowing what else to do
"Calm down... he's fine."
"What happened." she asked
" I think Kakashi might have put you on a genjutsu."
"I see…"
"Are you... okay?" he asked. There was an odd tone to the question, not recognizing the tone in his voice, as caring, he mentally shrugged.
She looked at him for a moment, "Yeah... I'm fine.", not wanting to acknowledge the look on Naruto's face, instantly dismissing it.
"Alright then... let's go then."
he said already moving to leave and soon after she followed him.
He led her to a small clearing in the middle of the forest, they're walk to their destination was silent and there in at the center of it sat the Uchiha meditating.
"We don't have a lot of time, anymore." said Naruto.
"Yeah...you have a point." responded the last Uchiha, standing up and walking towards them. Reaching them he said "Well...have a plan?"
"Mhm... but, you have to trust me." He said looking at the both of them sternly. For this to work they'd have to trust him and do exactly what he has to say.
He looks at them for confirmation. and he received a nod from the Uchiha, but Sakura hesitates. Naruto smiles a little at her, not surprised at all. She probably wanted Sasuke to be the one barking order's.
"Who's gonna be the one without the bell? " she asked.
Both Naruto and Sasuke remained silent, but. after a short while Naruto said "I will." and both Sakura and Sasuke looked at one another, before redirecting their gaze back at the blonde, once more they nodded in acceptance. The Uzumaki sighed, his team might be in trouble, having dealt with the problem at hand he spoke. "Well...we have to work together for this. I know we don't see eye to eye and that we have our own fare share of differences, but we need to work as a team here, otherwise... we won't last at all."
he paused for a minute, before continuing, with no emotion in his face. " I'll be...the decoy and diversion. Sasuke you and Sakura, you try and get those bells no matter what, when you see an opening, jump in, got it." he said knowing that no one, will step up for the role. and they'll expect it to be him who plays that role anyway.
Both of them frowned at that, before they nodded and looked towards the blonde, who stood up and said "Alright then... scatter." and all of them disappeared.

"Well... back for more, huh?" asked Kakashi, while pocketing his perverted book.
The Uzumaki only grinned and sprinted forward and tried kicking at Kakashi's chin, but of course the move was evaded by the jonin. Naruto then followed up with a punch that was also evaded by the cyclops. Kakashi seeing Naruto open threw a punch at the blonde, but Naruto jumped away. Instead of pursuing, Kakashi took a step to the side and a handful of kunai flew past his head. Naruto landed on his feet and summoned four shadow clones, who then rushed at the jonin. Naruto then dashed towards Kakashi who was preoccupied with the clones that were attacking him. He quickly went through hand signs and slammed both of his hands together. "NOW!" he signals his teammates as he performed the jutsu.
"Water style: Adhesive liquid"
, and out of Narutos mouth came out a transparent thick liquid that flew towards kakashi. Kakashi had suspected that they were working together, and with the signal his suspicion were confirmed. He was surrounded. He glanced up to the oncoming jutsu, there's still one clone on the ground and Sakura and Sasuke were flanking him, he might have been in a tough spot but, he was happy with this team.
Kakashi blurred towards the clone and kicked it on the chest erasing it, he had gotten out of the jutsu's path. 'Now to deal with-' he was interrupted by Sasuke's punches and kicks. Preoccupied with Sasuke, Naruto jumped into the fray and tried to attack but was blocked and deflected by the jonin, but he was surprised when he saw sakura grinning at him the bells at her fingers. He sighed, "I'm getting too old for this." muttered the jonin, fixing his clothes and dusting himself from the dirt.
"We got you sensei." she smiled and giggles.
"Yeah you did..." smirking under his mask," but... what are you going to do now?" he asked. All of the genin's happiness was destroyed with that reminder. They had forgotten. Both Sakura and Sasuke looked at Naruto sadly. This served to irritate the blonde, who laying down on the ground gazing at the clouds.
" Well..." started sakura. but was interrupted by the blonde ninja.
"We had a deal right? I'm the one without the bell and I'm the one who had volunteered to do it right?. So, stop it. I'm the one who's gonna go back to the academy and that is that." he said in a tone with no emotion. It didn't matter, in the grand scheme of things, he was going to find a way to reach the top once more, nothings changed, Nothing at all. So why? Why does he feel like this? He had hoped hadn't he? That things would be different for him this time around, for once. He cussed once more at his stupidity. Good things don't happen to people like him, and he would be damned if he let anyone suffer like he had.
The clouds looked so nice to him, they were freeing, so vibrant, so beautiful. 'No child... will have to suffer like I had, i promise!' he hated the emotions he felt right then and there. They did nothing, but to make him miserable, how traitorous of them. 'I won't lose sight of what's important', he needed to focus on only improving and thriving. For a better future for the ones that are suffering.
The blonde stood up and stretched, he has to keep moving Forward, no matter what. set backs would always be there, to taunt him and to laugh at him and his misery. "Suicide" is something that he had pondered, over and over again, looking at it and oddly enough, he had found interest in it. but. sadly. he also knew that it wasn't for someone like him. he is a fighter for the suffering and the weak who have nothing and no one. No. dying without accomplishing nothing isn't an option for him. when he has the power to change world as we know it. no it wasn't for him.
"So is that final... to all of you." asked the jonin. feeling horrible looking at naruto. for once he had recognized the look on Naruto's face and he didn't like it one bit. he got no response from the genin's in front of him. they were all silent.
he sighed, he could try and shape them to be a good team. but should he? he supposed they had worked well together as a team and if they can learn to care for one another they would be a force to be reckoned with.
he could pass them. yes. he saw no problems with that. he sighed.
"well... you all pass. meet me back here tomorrow 08:00 and will discuss what happens next, from now on you are my team, nice to meet you." he said while smiling under his mask. he looked at them, they were shocked, but evidently happy as well, at hearing that, even the Uchiha was smiling. but asked" how?" nevertheless.
"Listen guys... the most important thing is teamwork and you guys had done that and you worked well together. right now I'm pleased, so as your leader I say this, teamwork is absolute and crucial and don't you forget it." said before disappearing.
The blonde was puzzled for a moment, but was excited hearing that regardless. well it seems his goals wouldn't have to wait. he was pleased. he looked at his teammates and walked towards them, once next to them.
"Well...i think I'm gonna go." said the blonde but, didn't move to leave. he looked at sakura who was fidgiting. he raised an eye brow.
"umm... sasuke-kun now that we're a team, would you go with me on a date...?" she asked nervously while blushing.
The Uchiha simply looked at her and said "no" to her and Walked away.
she looked down and shivers, she was worthless she couldn't even get sasuke to go with on a date. what could she do to make him understand how she felt for him. it looked like she was only serving to be nuisance to him. would he ever love her back?
"Relax... you got this. it's only a set back, and no. your not a nuisance, sakura." said the blonde already guessing her line of thoughts. he Looked up at the sky, the sun will be setting soon. he observed. Sakura is like him partially, he knew that. for some reason he's always wanted to help her with sasuke, even though she was the one who had his heart. it didn't matter, he didn't have a lot of time, he would have to leave the village anyway. so. he would help her. even if she hates him, he would love her from afar.
She looked at him, watching the sky, she appreciated the words the blonde had said and right then and there she felt that they could be friends. She smiled, they'll grow to like each other she just knows it. but to her, he was still an idiot. She giggled thinking about how she would always call him that, no matter what. But. Honestly she didn't know how she would get to know him better. he seems like someone who's far away, so far away, from all of them and she felt that he is a complex person, but she would wait and see who naruto is.
Today he had stepped up and had shown them that he can lead in times of need and she had felt that he was a reliable teammate back then. Just how much. was he hiding from them. from everyone. she sighed and decided that she would leave the question for another day. "thanks naruto, I needed that."
"No problem... I've got your back." he said while staring at the sky and the wind blew softly at the both of them standing next to each other , as they watched the sky silently.
