He couldn't help but steal glances, wondering what was going through Noah's mind.

The bell rang as the students started to leave the class. Alexa called Noah over. "Damn it," Gunner thought.

Gunner couldn't help but watch Noah walk away.

"Who's that?" Gunner's best friend asked.

"No one, just the new kid," Gunner replied.

"Okay, wanna go play some football?" Cooper suggested.

"Sure," Gunner said, trying to push thoughts of Noah out of his mind. He grabbed his backpack and followed Cooper out of the classroom.

They played some football during PE, but Noah was still in Gunner's head.

He noticed Noah in the stadium with Alexa. Gunner's heart skipped a beat as he wondered what they were talking about.

Noah giving him a wink sent a shiver down Gunner's spine. He couldn't help but feel a mix of curiosity and unease.

He just met the kid and already had feelings for him. Gunner was confused by the intensity of his emotions.

Alex, looking at Gunner, she said, "No." "No, no," Noah said.

"It's okay if you are," Alex continued, "but Gunner's straight," she added, her voice trailing off as she glanced between the two boys.
