Hello new and old readers alike! I have finally managed to pump out a new fic after what feels like a hundred years and it just so happens to be based on this adorable series. I started watching the anime back in April of 2022 and I have been caught up on the manga. It's become one of my favorite series now and I hope I can do it justice!

Anya Forger was a little girl with a mission. Once she had put her mind to something, there was no stopping her.

She looked around her now messy room, clothes laying scattered as she had torn through her closet and dresser drawers. Her eyes darted back to the closed door, anticipating the voice of her mother calling her in for dinner at any moment.

After a valiant search, her eyes lit up in delight as she slipped on the white lab coat that she had scoured her room for. With one swift motion, she grabbed ahold of Mister Chimera in one hand and her toy doctor's kit in the other.

Her tiny legs skipped along to the other side of her room, putting down her things briefly to push the door open. The smell of something horrid hit her nose, causing the small girl to scowl before picking up her toys once again.

"Oh, Anya! Dinner is almost ready!" said Yor's voice from inside the kitchen. She shivered, not looking forward to whatever it was that she would soon be forced to eat.

She was a girl with a mission, a goal, and right now it was her main priority to complete that mission. Looking to her right, she could see Bond curled up in front of the couch, clearly trying to hide his nose away from the horror being concocted in the kitchen.

A smile curled on her lips as she trotted into the living room, crouching down to give the dog a pat on the head. "Good boy," she said quietly. "Now let me do my work."

She stood back up, gripping her toys to her sides as she looked at her father on the couch. He sat in a slouched position, jumping back every time his eyelids fluttered shut. The bags under his eyes were darker than usual and he held in a yawn as he threw his head back and sighed.

Anya ran over and threw her toys up on the couch as she climbed up to sit next to him. She looked up at him with a worried gaze. "It's worse than I thought ," she thought to herself. " Papa's mind is empty ."

Loid's tired eyes could see her in his peripheral vision. "What are you doing?" He turned to see her opening up her doctor's kit and pulling out various tools.

"Someone said a doctor was needed here," she proudly said, holding up a stethoscope. "Doctor Anya at your service, sir."

He let himself chuckle at his daughter's antics. "I think you're mistaken, doctor, I'm not sick." Normally, he'd be rolling his eyes at her silly games, but she was always rather cute when playing pretend. "On second thought, maybe I am sick ," he thought.

"That's where you're wrong, Papa," Anya took her stethoscope and placed it on his chest, putting the earpieces into her ears to listen. "Your heart is beating a billion miles a minute and you need to rest or it'll explode."

The scary part was that she wasn't wrong. His heart was beating really fast and he did need to rest. He watched as she got down and grabbed a blanket from a nearby closet. When she came back, she threw it across him.

"You need to rest, Papa, doctor's orders," Anya said as she crossed her arms across her chest and spoke in a sassy, yet serious tone.

Loid raised an eyebrow at her. Was he seriously going to take orders from a six year old? Even if she did have a point…

The smell of Yor's cooking passed through the living room, causing him to hold back a gag as he refused to let his stomach give up on him.

He examined Anya closely, letting out a small sigh. It didn't take his spy intellect to figure out what she was doing. Obviously, she was still worried about him after he had passed out cold a few days before. Anything that could possibly harm his mission needed to be taken care of right away.

"Okay, I'll lay down until dinner is ready, how about that?" Her face lit up as she ran up to him to place a pillow under his head.

Her little hands tucked in the blanket all around him, from his neck to his feet. She giggled and smiled brightly as she turned her papa into a tired burrito.

"Here ya go," she gently placed her stuffed toy next to him. "Mister Chimera will make you have good dreams."

Loid suddenly regretted letting Anya talk him into this situation. All the exhaustion had been building up in his body lately to the point that he was forcing himself to stay awake every night.

The pillow beneath his head felt so soft and his body tingled with warmth from where Anya had tucked him in. His head pounded behind his eyes, threatening to close them shut at any moment.

What surprised him most is that his daughter didn't move one bit. Normally, she'd run off to get into something or to watch cartoons. She really was dead set on taking care of him.

Anya sat on the floor in front of the couch, snuggling up to Bond as she watched her father intently. The familiar tingling sensation in her head returned and she listened closely.

"She shouldn't worry about me too much, I'm fine. I've been through worse and this is nothing compared to those times. I'll be okay."

With a determined look on her face, she stood up and placed a hand on Loid's forehead. "Papa, you're burning up," she said. "You're really sick."

"I think that's just because I'm under this blanket," he said plainly. "Can I get up now?"

"No, you cannot get up until the doctor says so," she put her hands on her hips. "I think Mama is almost done with dinner."

The both of them shuddered in unison as they wondered what sort of toxic concoction they'd be dining on that night.

Loid sighed, deciding to put his metaphorical foot down. "Anya, this game has been really fun, but I can promise you that I'm fine," his lips curled into a small smile as he turned onto his side to look closer at the small girl. "You don't need to worry about me."

Small tears formed in her eyes and she pouted. "It's not a game, I want to take care of you, Papa!" Her voice quivered as she tried to hold her tears back. She climbed onto the couch to lay next to him and buried her face into his chest. "You scared me."

The aching in his head grew stronger as Anya began to cry, letting out little sobs that vibrated his chest. He uncovered one of his arms to pull the small girl into a hug.

Typically, Twilight wasn't one for affection, but lately he found himself making exceptions for the girls in his life. "Please don't cry, it's okay," he gently rubbed her soft hair and held her tight as her body continued to tremble. "I'm sorry for scaring you."

Anya finally looked up at him, rubbing her watery green eyes and sniffling. He handed her Mister Chimera and she gladly accepted him, clutching the small stuffy to her chest. "Promise me you'll be okay? I really love you a lot," her voice was quieter than usual as she spoke.

Loid impulsively placed a small kiss on her hair, an embarrassed blush forming across his cheeks as he did so. "I promise," he gave her another smile, this one more genuine. "The only thing you need to be worrying about are your studies."

She returned his kind gesture by placing a small hand on his cheek and kissing his nose. "Okay Papa," she gave him one last hug before climbing off the couch. "Feeling any better?"

He sat up, throwing the covers off himself as he did so. The pounding behind his eyes still remained, though it was much fainter than before. "Yes I am, thank you, Doctor Anya."

The small girl jumped up and down, squealing with glee as she clapped her hands. "Yay! I helped Papa feel better!"

"What's all the commotion in here?" Yor asked as she walked into the room.

"Mama! Guess what! Papa is better now!" Anya ran up to her and grabbed her leg. "I made him rest," she said, tugging on her mother's pants leg.

"Oh, did you now? Well, that's wonderful, Anya," Yor reached down and patted her pink hair. "Are you two ready to eat?"

Loid looked away, trying to hide his disgust, while Anya looked up at her mother with big eyes and a serious look on her face. "Mama, I just made Papa get better, please don't kill him."
