Kyra was in her room putting the last clothes in her drawer from unpacking her stuff from the van and set up her bedroom. She grabbed her thermal taking a drink of her water as Joey knocked on her door before coming in. "Ready to go?" Said Joey. "Yeah. Let me grab my phone and bag." Said Kyra grabbing her bags from the drawer and door hanger. She followed Joey downstairs to the front door seeing Katy putting on her coat. "I have my list and heres the things we need for the house. Meanwhile im going to look for jobs that will take me." Said Katy opening the door. "If that doesnt work I'll look for part times or do labor work like i did back home." Said Kyra. "I dont think so with your school work and Kira on the loose." Said Joey. "Okay who's Kira?" Said Kyra as they walked to the car. "Kira is known to cause many deaths to criminals in anyway possible without being seen. Mostly heart attacks but never is around when it happens. The police and other agents are still investigating on who they are and how to stop them." Said Joey starting the car. "So when youre walking home alone always be sure to" "carry a taser, pepper spray, and my alarm with me at all times." Kyra finished for her. Katy smiled proudly then looked down at the newspaper for anything to pass the time. Within a half hour Joey pulled over to the grocery store as Kyra got out with the list in her bag and went inside grabbing a cart. She walked down the aisle putting the items in the cart then looked down at the list telling her to get some large shell pasta. Kyra went to pasta section looking up and down then bumped into someone with their cart. "Oh im sorry. Are you okay?" Said Kyra seeing a teen her age turn his head. "No worries. It was simple mistake." Said the teen. "Yeah. I was just looking for the large shell pastas but only found the small ones." Said Kyra. "Oh i think i saw two boxes on the top shelf." Said the teen looking up on the shelves. He then saw them in the back and lead Kyra to the near end. "You mind getting them down for me? I dont have the right shoes to get them myself." Said Kyra. "In exchange for your number since you did hit me on the left hip." Said the teen reaching up and managed to grab them both. Kyra grabbed them and placed them in her cart then faced the teen. "Can i get your name first? Im not just going to hand my number to a stranger." Said Kyra. "Im Light Yagami." Said the teen. "Kyra Parker and i think my Uncle Joey mentioned your name before. Your family is four houses down across the street." Said Kyra. "Yeah. Seems like we're going to see each other often unless you go to the same school as me." Said Light. "I wont be starting yet. Heres my number anyways. Thanks Light." Said Kyra handing him her phone number on a torn piece of her list. "Anytime. I should get going. See you soon." Said Light walking away.
Kyra crossed the items she had on the list then jumped as Joey was standing behind her. "How long were you standing there?" Said Kyra seeing a smirk on his face. "For you to hand your number to the chief's son." Said Joey. "I bumped into Light by accident while i was looking for the pasta shells mom wanted. He managed to helped with it an exchange for my number." Said Kyra. "So he didnt ask you out?" Said Joey. "No." Said Kyra as Joey took the list. "Go get yourself something. I got the ones you havent found." Said Joey. "Fine but i dont to hear a word from about the Light incident." Said Kyra walking to the chips and candy aisle. She walked to the aisle looking for anything and grabbed some shrimp chips and three chocolate bars. "Come on Light. We already have chips at the house." Said a little girls voice. "Sasha. Im only doing restocking. Oh Kyra. Funny seeing you here after we just met." Said Light as Kyra turned to see him and a girl next to him. "It wouldnt kill anyone who enjoys something to snack on." Said Kyra. "Oh so thats another girlfriend that you wanted to see. She's much more prettier than the ones you dated." Said Sasha making Kyra laugh. "Knock it off. We just met. She's one of our new neighbors." Said Light. "Sorry. Does she know about Kira?" Said Sasha. "Heard and not interested." Said Kyra. "Really and why is that?" Sais Light. "All i know about this Kira is that they can kill without being seen or leave evidence behind like any criminal would be stupid enough to do." Said Kyra. "But Kira only targets Criminals. They could be doing some justice." Said Light. "Sounds to me that they crave for dominance. Kinda how things work in prison. If you want to be on top then show the rest what you can do." Said Kyra. "Understandable but you need be careful. Kira can be anyone waiting for another kill." Said Light. "If you knew my entire story of my life. Then you'd understand why im not easily scared." Said Kyra. "I guess i need to read you out mystery girl." Said Light. "Uh huh. Well i better go find my Uncle." Said Kyra walking passed him and Sasha.
Kyra found Joey already in line to the registers reading a magazine of some sort of history document. She stood next to him and checked her phone seeing her emails and spotted L. She clicked on it to find a address and room number along with what she needs to have for precautions. "Hey Uncle Joey." Said Kyra. "Huh?" Said Joey. "Can i take me to this location?" Said Kyra showing him the location. Joey looked at the pinpoint confused and nodded as the they reached the counter. "Yeah. After we drop off the grocery and check on your mom." Said Joey putting the items on the moving belt. "She just wants to make sure im fine." Said Kyra. "Yeah." Said Joey before he sneezed. "You okay?" Said Kyra as he sniffed. "Yeah im " Joey sneezed again as Kyra checked his forehead. "Your feeling a little to warm. Im gonna get you some cough drops and tea for that." Said Kyra going to the aisles. She grabbed the items and ran back in time before Joey would pay. "I'm gonna fine." Said Joey. "Last time you said that you puked on grandma." Said Kyra. "It was the meatballs that went bad." Said Joey. "You made everyone in the house sick for three weeks. First it was you, grandma, grandpa, mom, Aunt Chloe and her four kids, Uncle Jeff, and me." Said Kyra. "Hey if i was going down im gonna take everyone down with . . . Excuse me." Said Joey covering his mouth and ran to the bathroom. Kyra bagged everything and walked to the bathroom waiting for Joey to get out. She answered her phone seeing it was Katy while hearing Joey throwing up. "Hey mom. Hows the shopping?" Said Kyra. "Good i got your school clothes for half off. How are the both of you?" Said Katy. "Good. I met one of our neighbors and right now Uncle Joey is vomiting in the bathroom." Said Kyra. "Oh god. I told him to take a hot shower when he came inside. Let me get a cab and meet you at the store." Said Katy before hanging up. Kyra put her phone away and smiling awkwardly to the entering and exiting the bathrooms while she waited for Katy to come.
