Chapter One: Meeting A New Kid

Later as Alexis is walking she do a spots a coffee shop called Java Lava and heads inside.

"Well this place is cute." Alexis says as she looks around as a brown haired woman walks up to her.

"Sure is. Chuckie why don't you help this little lady. He'll help you hun." The woman says as she points to an orange haired boy at the counter.

"Thank you ma'am." Alexis says as she goes up the boy.

"Hi. What can I get you?" Chuckie asks kindly.

"Um..." Alexis says as she looks unsurely at the menu.

"If you're having a hard time deciding perhaps I can suggest something. Are there any kind of flavors you prefer?" Chuckie asks as Alexis smiles at him.

"I prefer sweet and flavorful things." Alexis says.

"Well how about our new white chocolate raspberry smoothie? Or you could try the blueberry java we got?" Chuckie asks.

"Hmm. The smoothie sounds good. Can I have one of those?" Alexis asks as Chuckie smiles at her.

"Of course. One smoothie coming up." Chuckie says as he begins tossing ingredients into the blender.

"Wow. You're pretty good at that." Alexis says as she smiles.

"Thanks. It kinda comes with the job. Though I'm not as good as my sister is at making it entertaining for the customers. Whoa!" Chuckie says as he slips on a berry and lands in the floor as some berries fall on his head.

"Are you okay?" Alexis asks worriedly as she helps Chuckie up.

"I'm good." Chuckie says as Alexis sits back down and giggles slightly while smiling.

"And who said you're not good at entertaining. I thought that was cute. Here." Alexis says as she hands Chuckie a napkin.

"Thanks. I don't really recognize you. Are you new here?" Chuckie asks as he wipes himself clean of berries before he begins blending the smoothie.

"Yeah. My aunt Cassandra and I just moved here recently from Michigan. We came here for her job at some tech company." Alexis says.

"Nice. Well welcome to the neighborhood." Chuckie says.

"Thank you Chuckie. It's nice meeting another kid my age." Alexis says kindly.

"How'd you know my name?" Chuckie asks in surprise.

"Your boss said it when I walked it." Alexis says.

"Oh she's actually not my boss. My dad is my boss. That woman who welcomed you is my friends mom Betty DeVille. My dad is Chaz Finster and my sister is Kimi. She went with our mom to the mall so you won't get to meet her." Chuckie says kindly.

"It's alright. That's cool how you work with your family." Alexis says.

"You do? Most people think it's weird or boring." Chuckie says in surprise.

"Do you?" Alexis asks curiously.

"No. I love it honestly. I enjoy working with my family. Especially with my sister. We even have this one drink called the Finster Finster shake we made up together and we do this little routine." Chuckie says happily.

"Sounds like fun." Alexis says.

"It is. You know you never told me your name." Chuckie says.

"It's Alexis. Alexis Hathaway to be more precise. It's nice to meet you Chuckie Finster." Alexis says as she smiles softly.

"You too. Oh uh here's your smoothie Alexis. I guess I made a little too much this time. Sorry I'm still getting the hang of this particular recipe. Don't worry. This one is on me. Call it my welcome gift to the neighborhood." Chuckie says as he pours two glasses full of the smoothie.

"Thank you but you didn't have to do that. Wow! This is delicious. You definitely did a job in my book. Hey if you're not doing much would you maybe like to join me for a bit?" Alexis asks as she gestures to a table nearby after drinking from her glass.

"Really?" Chuckie asks as he grabs the second glass.

"Yeah. Is that a problem?" Alexis asks curiously.

"No it's not just uh not many girls wanna sit and chat with me." Chuckie says nervously.

"Well I do. You interested?" Alexis asks kindly.

"Sure." Chuckie says as he smiles and follows Alexis over to the table.

*Timeskip*

"Wow Alexis. I can't believe you've traveled so much with your Aunt Cassandra. That sounds amazing." Chuckie says happily.

"It is but it's nothing like being home. Though traveling like that makes it hard to have friends. My aunt said this is gonna be a permanent living arrangement so hopefully I can make some new friends." Alexis says as she looks down slightly.

"I hear you but you got one already though." Chuckie says as Alexis looks at her.

"Really? Who?" Alexis asks curiously.

"Me. You know if you want that is." Chuckie says shyly.

"I'd like that Chuckie." Alexis says as she smiles at Chuckie.

"Anyway I gotta get back to work but if you want to hang out I'm not doing anything tomorrow would you be interested in going to the mall for a movie?" Chuckie asks as Alexis nods.

"That sounds great." Alexis says happily.

"Great! I mean uh great. Anyway I'll see you at school I guess." Chuckie says as he stands up.

"Definitely." Alexis says as she watches Chuckie go back to work before leaving.
