Rose's laughter fills the air as she watches Greg battle with pieces of kelp on the sandy shore in front of the temple. "Gah! Rose! Help me out here!" Greg screams as he keeps getting swarmed by washed up kelp. She gently trots over the beach, grasping the kelp gently and carefully peeling it off, causing Greg to grin nervously at his own antics "It was that easy then, wasn't it?" Rose lets the kelp float gently in the water, letting the gentle currents carry it away. "Yeah, it was." She responds to Greg with. "But, this is what I love about Earth." She adds "every organic here is unique. Like they have their own purpose." The broad gem pulls Greg into her side, hugging him tightly

"reminds me of home…" she whispered under her breath, slight tears falling from her eyes.

She quickly pushes those thoughts aside, wiping her tears before Greg can notice. After a short while, she looks down at him by his side. "Like you Greg, you have a purpose." Greg becomes startled at this "huh! L-like what Rose!?" Rose giggles at her partner's antics once again. She laughs at his antics again, "what do you think Greg!" She rubs her stomach, her fingers smoothing over her gem which highlights the slight bulge it now has after 2 months of pregnancy. Greg blushes slightly, looking into her eyes. "oh… Oh! Right! Our child!" His eyes light up with knowledge. "Which reminds me!" He pushes himself out her right grip, surprising her and rushes over to his van in now wet shorts and shirt as he hops into the back, Rose watching from the shore.

She quickly rushes over just as Greg tumbles out the van, falling face down on the sand below with multiple hard-back books scattered around. She gently bends down to pick up one of the scattered books, wiping sand off the front and looking at the cover. '-Beginners Guide to Parenting-' it read, with silhouettes of two people holding a baby. "Greg, what is all this?" Rose questions. Greg quickly brushes the sand clinging to his shirt and collects the scattered books, consisting of 4, plus the one Rose is still holding. "Well, I got these from Vidalia since, y'know we're gonna be parents soon." She raises an eyebrow at his words. "By collecting books?". "These aren't just any books Rose," Greg states "they're baby books. They basically teach people who want to have children how to look after them." He finishes.

Rose's eyes light up at Greg's explanation. Books to help her learn about children would be better than going into it without any preparation, even with Garnet by their side to warn them about the future. "Oh Greg! What a wonderful idea!" Rose exclaims,"This will really help us along the way. What ones do you have?" Greg takes the book from Rose's hands and lays it down on the sand along with the rest. "Well, Vidalia just handed me what she could find so honestly I don't know which ones there are" He responds truthfully.

After a moment of brief silence, Greg speaks up "So, which one do you wanna start with first Rose?"

The gem thinks for a moment before picking up the book with a cover featuring the shadow of a lady with a baby bump, much like Rose's, and another shadow caressing the bump with the words -Basics of Pregnancy Period-'. "How about this one?" Greg nods in agreement and sits next to her, grabbing the book and opening it.

Over the next half an hour, the two of them read through the book, picking out memorable moments such as talking to a baby when it's in the stomach, the methods to ease pregnancy stress and common pregnancy cravings.

"Pregnancy cravings?" Rose asked, bewildered. Greg enlightens her on it. "It's basically when pregnant women have a fascination with strange food or food combo." He thinks for a moment before continuing, "Reminds me of when Vidalia was pregnant, she had a weird fascination with onions." Rose still looks bewildered, considering the fact she doesn't necessarily eat most of the time, but if it's normal for earth woman when having children then she should have no problem doing it as well.

After they're finished reading the book, Greg picks up one of the other books which is a book filled with baby names.

Rose's eyes light up immediately as she snatches the book from his grasp as she begins looking through the book with extreme interest. Greg chuckles at her antics, "You're really excited about names for our baby, aren't you Rose." She ignores him completely as she closes the book, looking through the entire thing. After a moment of brief silence, she speaks up. "I've got it…" Greg looks at her, bewildered "Got what?" She responds quickly. "The baby's name."

His eyes light up slightly, and a small grin plasters itself onto his face. "Oh, what did you pick?" Rose grins widely at the same moment. "Well, if it's a girl, Nora and if it's a boy… Steven." His eyes light up as he hugs Rose tightly and plasters her face with kisses. "Oh Rose! Those are wonderful!"

Unfortunately, their celebration is interrupted by the arrival of one of the other gems, Garnet.

Rose looks up, slightly confused "Garnet? What're you doing here?" The tallest gem's face looks distressed as she looks down at the two through her visor. "I-i'm sorry… Rose. I couldn't help b-but look into your future…" She pauses as Rose and Greg grow slightly worried, causing Rose to stand and take the crimson gems hands in hers. "Garnet… what did you see?" Garnet responds shortly after.

"I don't know… I just saw you disappear and leave a wailing child… I d-don't think you're gonna survive Rose…"

This causes Rose's world to stop. 'not survive?' That couldn't be possible, she had to be there for her child's birth… right? The only thing she can register is Garnet walking off, apologising slightly. She falls to her knees starting to cry slightly as Greg quickly comes beside her to comfort her, tears starting to fall from his eyes as well out of fear.

She didn't know what she was gonna do now. Nothing at all…
