Chapter 5

In the forest.

Megatron pointed his gun at Jack. Jack was scared, he was afraid to make any move. Megatron broke the silence and lowered his hand. Jack exhaled realizing his stress.

Megatron said: "Go away now, I remember how you didn't kill me when I was buried under cave. I won't kill you today so go away and don't bother me."

Megatron walked toward the edge of the hill. Jack said quietly.

Jack said: "But that's my place."

Megatron heard that.

Megatron said: "What do you mean? Is this your territory? Do you own this forest?"

Jack said: "Well no I don't own this place or the forest. I mean some months ago I found this place and since then it was my place to be alone."

Megatron said: "I get your point but right now I need to use it so get lost and don't bother me."

Jack thought: "I guess there won't be another chance to talk that peacefully with him. I need to try make a conversation with him."

Jack said: "May I ask you a question?"

Megatron was curios what this human wants to know. He sat at the edge of the hill.

Megatron said: "I will allow it only once, if your question will be interesting, I'll answer but if not, you will go away"

Jack asked: "May I have some time to think about question? I don't want to waste it so easy."

Megatron answered: "Alright I will give you 10 human minutes, after that you either ask or go away."

Jack started to run ideas thought his mind. He had so many questions, after about 7 minutes he came up with two ideas.

Jack thought: "So two most important questions. Why Airachnid is like that? How did she become a torture expert and why she always alone? This one could help me to understand why she teases Arcee so much. Maybe I could help Arcee with this one, but it might be not as important."

Jack thought: "I must ask the second question. Why Decepticons and Autobots still fighting? As far as I now both fractions wanted to change Cybertron to the better. But now as planet is dead there is no point fighting, they just exterminate their own kind. They must cooperate, no matter how much they hate that idea."

Jack said: "Megatron I decided what to ask"

Megatron turned around to face him.

Megatron said: "Okay let's end this quickly"

Jack said: "My question is why are you still fighting? I mean Optimus told us your story. How you and Optimus tried to change Cybertron to the better. You wanted to change the system of your planet. I can guess that when war started it made sense but right now, your planet is destroyed, old system is also destroyed and what you are doing is extermination of your own kind. In my opinion Decepticons an Autobots must cooperate to revive your planet. That's my point."

Megatron was shocked to hear so reasonable arguments. He came to this forest to think and find an answer to the same question, but this human already thought about it and came up with brilliant answer. Megatron didn't know what to say, he didn't want to admit that this human is right, that this whole war was pointless. He sat still for some time. He tried to think what to answer. At the end he admitted this war must end as soon as possible.

Megatron said: "I don't know. To be true I came here to find an answer to the same question. Tell me human how old you are?"

Jack was shocked. Lord of Decepticons didn't know why they are fighting. How could this be possible? Jack didn't know how to continue and what to ask so he just answered.

Jack said: "I'm eighteen."

Megatron asked: "How could you so easily decide what to do with this war? We've been fighting for thousands of years, and you know about us for how long, about two years."

Jack answered: "I don't know I just didn't understand why you still fighting. Maybe that's because of our human history. We had wars basically every year, most of them were useless or pointless. After some time and industrial revolution, we tried to reduce them as much as possible. Maybe that's how I ended up with this decision."

Megatron said: "Now I understand why Optimus gave you the key to Vector Sigma. Alright I decided. Human I need you to tell something to Optimus. Tell him that I'll be waiting for him at this place in next two solar cycles (2 days), I want to talk with him, so he should be alone."

Jack said: "Okay I'll tell him. And what are you going to do?"

Megatron said: "Just go and tell him, I'm too tired (emotionally), I want to relax and you not helping it, go away."

Jack didn't want to try his luck any longer speaking with Megatron. And went to get out of the forest.

Megatron looked at the beautiful view and started to think what just happened.

Megatron thought: "Did I really decided to do this? I need to think who will be against this decision. Knockout and Breakdown? They probably won't be argued with this. Vechicons also won't. Soundwave already agreed with me, so I don't need to worry about him. The most problems may come from Dreadwing, Shockwave, Airachnid and Starscream. Especially Starscream."

Megatron decided that it's time to come back to Nemesis. He used his comm-link.

Megatron said: "Soundwave mark my coordinates and send me a Groundbridge. After two solar cycles we will use them again."

As soon as he ended his sentence the green vortex appeared behind him. Megatron stood up and walked through the vortex.

At the Nemesis

Megatron appeared in command room where Soundwave was waiting for him.

Megatron said: "Soundwave I need to discuss with you about our further plans, private talk as usual."
