Welcome one and all to a once every four years event. This is the Summer Games Special! Yes, the 2024 Paris Olympics are starting today, and to celebrate the spirit of sportsmanship and international camaraderie that the Games tend to bring about, I'm giving us an update to every active story. Nothing abnormal for a special, at least not in my case, but I still think it's worthwhile. Anyways, this is Part I, so let's just get into this. Last time, Spyro and the rest of the League finally got to the scene just in time to save Renee Montoya and take out Virgil Getty and Mad Hatter. With those two villains taken out, Flash, White Canary, and Spyro headed into the warehouse to rescue Batwoman and Cynder. Today, we finally finish the battle between the Bat and the Clown. How's it going to go down? Read on to discover...

(Our scene picks up back in the room where Batwoman and Cynder were locked up. Batwoman and Joker are continuing their fight while Cynder tries to get out of her confines. Batwoman, now in full control of the Shadow element throws pulses of raw darkness around, but Joker keeps taking the blows in stride.)

Joker: Come on! Is that all you've got?! My world's Batwoman was far tougher than this!

Batwoman: I'm willing to bet your Batwoman couldn't do this!

(With that, Batwoman infuses the Shadow element into Joker's own shadow, using it to throw the clown to the ground and stun them long enough for Batwoman to run over to Cynder and start picking the locks on her confines using a lockpick from her utility blet)

Cynder: You're doing marvelously! I've never seen Shadow manipulation of your skill level outside of myself!

Batwoman: Thanks, but we'll have to save the complements for later. Right now, we've got to put a stop to this clown.

Cynder: (As the chains binding her fall off with the click of an opened lock) Agreed. Let's do this.

(Just as Cynder gets back in the game, Joker recovers from Batwoman's shadow grab.)

Batwoman: I'll admit, that was clever. But it's the only clever move you're going to get.

Cynder: Then you clearly haven't faced me.

Joker: One or two, it doesn't matter. I'm the only one walking out of this alive.

But just as the battle is about to begin, the door to the room is busted open, revealing Spyro, Flash, and White Canary.)

Spyro: (Having overheard the whole thing) If two doesn't matter, how about five?

Flash: (Seeing Batwoman is now pulsing with the Shadow element) You got it down?

Batwoman: Long story, but yeah. You're not alone in this Elemental thing anymore, Barry.

White Canary: We'll catch up later, right now, time to take down this clown.

Spyro: Agreed.

(And now, the battle is really on. Batwoman and Flash throwing Fire and Shadow around the arena while Spyro, Cynder, and White Canary go full on melee against Joker. And for a few moments everything appears to be going well, but then one Speed Force enhanced dash from Flash breaks a window, and soon enough a couple of well placed kicks by Spyro and Cynder send Joker right out the windowsill, but Batwoman grabs Joker before she can tumble out, just as Batwing, Superman, Supergirl, and Martian Manhunter start closing in on the situation.)

Joker: (Realizing she failed, and that there's no way out of this) Well? What are you waiting for? Let me go and rid the multiverse of the Joker once and for all, why don't you?!

Batwoman: Because it would be a needless death in your case. We can get you treatment, try to fish the real you out of what your Joker did to you all those years ago. I know there's still Kate Kane beneath all of this.

Joker: Even if you could, it wouldn't matter. My life's forfeit anyways. Just save us all the trouble.

Batwoman: I won't kill you.

Joker: I know. (Pulls out a knife) But you won't save me.

(With that, Joker cuts the piece of her shirt in Batwoman's grasp from her costume and tumbles out the window)

Batwoman: Luke!

(Getting the message, Batwing flies after the falling Joker while Spyro and Cynder leap out and glide down after her and the rest descend on one of Batwoman's grappling lines. But they're not fast enough. Joker's screams come to an end as she hits the ground, dead on impact. But as everybody finally makes it to the ground, a bit of laughter can still be heard. Confused, Batwing checks the pocket of Joker's jacket, finding a rag doll made to look like Jack Napier that is somehow laughing. Freaked out, Batwing throws the thing to the ground just as everyone else arrives)

Cynder: Poor thing. Her final joke was the primal gag.

Batwoman: And the joke was on us.

(Still seeing Kate Kane in her fallen foe, Batwoman takes some degree of pity on Joker, and actually shuts her corpse's eyes, giving her rest at last, as our scene ends for today)

This concludes Part I of the Summer Games Special. For Part II, head on over to A Song of Spiders and Dragons. The next update to this story will be the Finale of Book II of the Elemental Crisis. And what a note to leave off on. One of the Dark Knights is already dead. I know it seems a little early to kill one of them off, but I really didn't have any use for Joker going forward. And considering how big Book III is going to be in terms of the plot, I didn't have time to deal with a loose thread like this in that story. Anyways, next time, we wrap up Book II. So how does this part of the story come to an end? Tune in next time to find out! Same time... same channel!
