Fanny was sitting at a table in the Moonbase cafeteria with Rachel and Patton, She noticed the Drill Sergeant was staring at his plate with a pensive look, Numbuh 86 groaned "Come on, it's mashed potatoes and chicken, it's not Brussels sprouts"
"Sorry if I doubt the kitchen guys are able to do something actually healthy" Numbuh 60 said as he ate some of it
"So you don't know? Talk around the base is that some girls were getting some extra pounds with all the pizza and meatball sandwiches so someone actually changed the menu by force" said Numbuh 2 who was walking nearby with a tray filled with mashed potatoes with chicken and some spinach
"Spinach? You know, I should vent you out of the base right now" Numbuh 86 said looking at Numbuh 2 disgusted
"Heeey!" Numbuh 362 took offense as she looked at her own plate who had the same thing Numbuh 2 was eating
"We used to be a proper kid organization" Numbuh 60 shook his head while filling his mouth with Mashed potatoes, that was when he noticed someone approaching him, he looked to his side and noticed a blonde girl around his age smiling at him slightly blushing, Numbuh 60 quickly swallowed his food "Uhhh… Hello?" The boy said feeling a little awkward
"Hi… I'm Numbuh 33, would you like to go on a date with me? I… I like you, Numbuh 60" The girl said "I was thinking we could know each other better"
The girl was indeed kinda cute, Numbuh 60 thought looking at her, the boy sighed "Sorry about that, I'm kinda busy right now, plus I like another girl already, but you are kinda cute, I'm sure you could find another guy"
The girl started tearing up as she backed away and ran away crying, immediately a few operatives started whispering looking at Patton
"I must have done some pretty bad stuff in the other life to deserve this" Patton groaned stuffing his mouth with a piece of chicken
"Poor guy, he gets to dump a bunch of girls who think he is beautiful" Numbuh 362 snickered along with Numbuh 86
"What is it? Fifth one this week?" Fanny said grinning at him teasingly
"Sixth, there was a guard bringing some prisoners yesterday that gave me a love letter" Patton sighed
"I liked the another girl story though" Rachel said
"It's not a story, I really like a girl" Patton said grabbing a can of soda and opening it
"Someone we know?" Rachel asked smiling carefreely after finishing her meal
"With all due respect Sir, it's none of your business" Numbuh 60 said
"I had do try" Rachel shrugged
"Why don't you confess to this girl already and get this whole thing finished then?" Fanny asked now visibly annoyed
"I'm fine with things how they are, I'm not in a rush to confess" Patton said before drinking some soda
"What if someone starts dating her first?" Rachel asked
"Yeah… Not worried about that one" Patton chuckled
"Not a very likable person?" Numbuh 86 said
"You could say that" Numbuh 60 said grinning at her
"Huh, she sounds perfect for you" Numbuh 86 scoffed
Numbuh 60 smiled serenely at the girl as he finished his can of soda, his amusement with Numbuh 86 was interrupted by a boy who approached the trio
"Hi" The boy waved at the trio, the boy had brown hair and had a calm demeanor, he was holding what clearly looked like a letter
"Here to confess too?" Numbuh 60 grinned at Numbuh 362 who blushed
"Well… Yeah, kind of" The boy blushed a bit
"Hmm.. Thanks but… I'm already dating someone" Rachel said slightly embarrassed "Sorry about that"
"What? I'm not here for you" Numbuh 132 said slightly embarrassed too
"Ohhh… I get it, sorry about that, I'm only into girls" Numbuh 60 said quite carefreely
"Uhhh… I'm talking about Numbuh 86" The boy said pointing at Numbuh 86 while looking at Numbuh 60 a little confused
All heads in the nearby tables immediately turned to the boy in surprise, including the members of Sector V who were sitting nearby
"Alright, maybe I'm the second bravest guy in this place" Numbuh 4 whispered to Numbuh 3 who nodded
"M-Me?!" Numbuh 86 blushed heavily as she looked at the boy who handed her the letter, the girl immediately opened the letter, the girl read it in silent
Numbuh 362 noticed smoke coming out of Numbuh 86's head as she read the letter, her face turning redder and redder by the second
Numbuh 86 finished reading the letter and just looked at the boy, her head was spinning at the moment her mind quite hazy as she was just stunned to be confessed by a boy let alone in front of everyone "C-Can you give me some time to think?" The girl said trembling a bit
"Sure, no pressure, can we exchange contacts?" The boy asked
"Sure…" Numbuh 86 felt like she was on autopilot as she traded her communicator contact with the boy who proceeded to leave the cafeteria soon after
"Wow… I wasn't expecting that" Numbuh 362 said while a multitude of whispering could be heard around them while Numbuh 86 tapped her fingers on the table scratching her hair with the other hand
"I… I-I need to clear my mind, you can finish lunch without me!" Numbuh 86 rushed away from the cafeteria
"I hope she is oka- Uh…" Rachel turned her attention to Patton who was pale as a ghost "You okay?" Rachel asked looking worried at her friend
"I think my blood pressure just dropped…" Numbuh 60 said as his right eye started twitching "I will be fine" Numbuh 60 smiled at her while his hand crushed his soda can almost breaking the can in half
"Yeah… Listen, this girl you like… It wouldn't by any chance be… Numbuh 86… right?" Rachel said feeling a palpable tension around the table
Numbuh 60 scoffed "What? No way, I was just too surprised by the whole thing" The boy said as his hand trembled a bit while his eye was still twitching
"Uh-huh…" Numbuh 362 crossed her arms while looking at him "Well, good luck with your "blood pressure", I need to get to work" Rachel got up from the table and left Numbuh 60 alone
Numbuh 60 remained at the table like a statue for hours, his mind was in a mix of being completely empty and completely in chaos as the boy didn't know how to proceed, he stayed there like that until his communicator finally woke him up from his trance, the boy looked at it and noticed it was coming from Arctic base, he was late for training the cadets, the boy got up and made his way to his ship in silence, it didn't take long for him to arrive at Arctic base
"Sir? Where were you? The cadets have been waiting for you for hours" A guard stationed at the Hangar approached Patton who looked at him uninterested
"Hm? Just tell them to do self-training or train them yourself, I'm not feeling like it today, if something urgent comes up I will be at my office" Numbuh 60 said as he practically dragged himself to his office, the boy sat on his bed and stared at the wall for a few minutes until he finally spoke "I'm an idiot" he said then got up and headed to a cabinet made out of ice that rested in the corner of his room, the boy took a bunch of candies and soda from it and just started eating it on his bed looking at the wall while doing so
The next day Numbuh 86 was holding a pile of documents through the hallways heading to Global command, as she arrived in the Global command operations room she dumped all files on top of Rachel's desk who was solving something on a console "There we go, all decommissions for this month for you to review"
"Thanks, I guess" Rachel sighed upon looking at the pile of files, she turned her attention to Numbuh 86 who had bags under her eyes and looked exhausted "Wow, you okay?"
"Hm? This?" She pointed at her eyebags "It's nothing, I had some trouble sleeping last night, nothing to worry about" Fanny said puffing her chest confidently
"Is this about Numbuh 132?" Rachel asked while reviewing an agent decommissioning file
"No… Why? Did he say something? Did he give up on me?" Numbuh 86 asked smiling at her
"No, Wait, you aren't interested in him?" Rachel asked
"Of course not, he is a stupid boy" Fanny snorted
"I don't know, he seemed pretty normal to me" Rachel said as she stamped a file and put it in another pile of files "Well, just reject him then"
"Yeahh… About that… how do you do it?" Fanny asked
"You… just say… no?" Rachel said looking visibly confused at her friend
"Yeah but… I always pity the girls Numbuh 60 does this kind of stuff, I know I shouldn't care about this guy but he reeeally likes me, apparently I rescued him during a fight with some teenagers or something like that and now he loves me" Fanny said while grabbing Numbuh 132's letter and reading it
"That's kinda cute, I didn't know you were able to care about a boy's feelings" Rachel said smiling at her
"Shut up…" Numbuh 86 mumbled "Sorry sir…"
"No need to be formal" Rachel laughed, she then paused for a bit as a lightbulb popped on top of her head "Why don't you ask Numbuh 60?"
"Why would I ask him anything?" Numbuh 86 crossed her arms frowning at Rachel
"You have to admit, the guy knows how to reject" Rachel shrugged smiling at her friend "Unless you really like Numbuh 132" She grinned
"No way, I don't have time for this sort of stuff, besides, that boy looks like a twig, I could break him in half just by bumping into him, If I'm dating someone he needs to at least be able to to handle a few punches from me"
"Or a Ice Cream cake explosion" Rachel scoffed
"Hilarious" Fanny said crossing her arms looking displeased at Rachel "Anyway, you may be right, Numbuh 60 could help me get this sorted out, where is he anyway? I didn't see him the entire day"
"I think he must be at Arctic base" Rachel said "Probably sulking" She said quietly
"What did you say?" Fanny asked
"Nothing" Rachel smiled innocently at Numbuh 86 who raised an eyebrow a little weirded out but ignored it
"Aaaanyway, I'm going down there, I can't be bothered by something like this" Numbuh 86 said as she left Global Command
"Numbuh 60 owes me big time" Rachel chucked as she finished another decommissioning file
Numbuh 86 had just arrived at the Arctic base ship hangar, she approached an operative wearing a heavy set of winter clothes "Hey, you!" She approached the boy who tried protecting himself "Where is Numbuh 60?"
"Uhhh… If I tell you do you promise you won't hurt me?" The boy said trying to protect himself
Numbuh 86 groaned "Sure, just tell me where he is" She said
"He didn't train the cadets yesterday and went straight to his office, I think he is still there" The guard said
Fanny frowned at the boy then left the boy and went deeper inside the base "He didn't train those weaklings yesterday? That is weird" After walking for quite a bit inside the base she finally reached Numbuh 60's office, the door was locked "Anyone in there?" Numbuh 86 said while knocking on the door but no answer "Numbuh 60?" She placed her ear against the door and could hear snoring from inside "Great, of all days for him to get lazy" She mumbled to herself angrily as she kicked the door opening breaking the lock, once she went inside the girl immediately turned her attention to a boy laying down on the bed with a bunch of candy and soda around him, it didn't take long for her to see it was Patton "Wow, had a happy hour or something?" She approached Numbuh 60 and noticed the boy was only wearing a white shirt with a pair of checkered boxers "Huh, old people underwear, just like daddy, would never have guessed" She grinned
Numbuh 60 groaned as he slowly woke up "Hm? I told the guards to not bother me, who is it?" The boy scratched his eyes then noticed Numbuh 86 looking at him with her arms crossed, the boy immediately used his bed sheets to cover himself "The hell are you doing here Fulbright?"
Numbuh 86 sighed "Do I wanna know?" Fanny asked while looking at the dirty bed and the pitiful state Numbuh 60 was in
"No, no you don't, what do you want?" Patton asked
"I need your help, how do I reject someone?" Fanny asked
"You just say… no?" Patton looked at her a little confused while he dressed himself inside the covers "Is this about that Numbuh 132 stuff from yesterday?" He said taking his head out of the covers
"Yeah… I think the guy is pretty nice but he is not really my type you see… maybe Negative Numbuh 86 would have more luck with him" She smiled at him a bit nervous "Look, I'm not as good at this kind of stuff alright? It was the first time I was really confessed you know?"
"Didn't you date that 19th century guy bef-" Before Patton could complete his sentence Numbuh 86 put her hand over his mouth
"Don't remind me alright? That was an exception" Numuh 86 said frowning at him
"Anyway… just say you like someone else" Patton said
"I can't lie like you do" Fanny say
"As I said yesterday, It's not a lie, I really like a girl" Patton frowned at her as he got up to confront the girl
"And yet you don't confess, it sounds to me like you are chickening out" Numbuh 86 grinned at him
Numbuh 60 gritted his teeth looking at her ready to kick the girl out of his room but then he paused for a second, sighed and sat on his bed "You are totally right"
"Oh yeah, and y- Wait, am I?" Numbuh 86 looked really confused at the boy who just looked depressed, she frowned at him "Alright, what's wrong with you?"
Numbuh 60 looked at the girl and took a deep breath as he steeled himself "The girl I like is you"
Numbuh 86 froze up on the spot after hearing that "Oh…" she said as she sat on Numbuh 60's office chair facing him "That's awkward…"
"Tell me about it" Numbuh 60 sighed
"I get you didn't take well to the guy confessing to me then?" Numbuh 86 said while blushing at him
Patton looked at his bed still dirty with candy "You could say that"
"Well I did say it needed to be someone who could take a punch from me" Numbuh 86 mumbled to herself
"Talking to yourself now?" Patton said
"Shut up, what's up with you guys liking me anyway?" Fanny asked clearly annoyed but blushing at the same time "I treat you boys like trash"
"Yeah and it gets on my nerves trust me" Patton said looking at her with his arms crossed "Still, I like the way you fight and no one beats a teenager like you do" He said "I admire you alright?"
Numbuh 86 felt her cheeks heating up as she heard it from Numbuh 60 "Well… I think you train the recruits better than anyone I've seen to be honest, The way you put the prisoners in line is kinda cool too… And you are pretty strong… for second place of course" She chuckled
"Keep saying that last part to yourself" He chuckled
"Wanna bet?" She grinned at him showing the boy her arm
"Armwrestling? Alright, I will bite" He smiled at her "What do I win if you lose?"
"A kiss" She smiled at him challengingly while blushing
"And what do you win if I lose?" Patton said cracking his knuckles while he grabbed a small chair and sat next to Numbuh 86 his desk right next to them
"I will figure it out after we are done, so?" Fanny asked putting her elbow on top of the desk
"I'm in" The boy said as he rested his elbow on top of the desk and grabbed her hand
Numbuh 86 took a deep breath and looked into his eyes "On three… One" The girl said feeling a little nervous
"Two" Patton said clearly a bit nervous as well
"Three!" Both operatives said at the same time and started their match, both operatives stood their ground at the beginning but Patton started gaining terrain first as he looked at their locked hands with full focus, Numbuh 86 who wasn't about to take a defeat home started gritting her teeth and using all her strength to halt Numbuh 60's advance, the two operatives stayed like that going between a small progress and a complete tie for what seemed like an eternity but in truth only 5 minutes had passed "I… I want to win!" Fanny screamed as she once again put all her strength while the two were in a tie
Numbuh 60 wasn't ready for her sudden advance, the boy tried getting back on the fight but it was no use once he felt the back of his hand hitting the desk
Both operatives were panting a little bit "N-Nice match…" Numbuh 86 said raising her hand in victory
"Congratulations, you won…" Patton said feeling dejected
"I practice a lot with my Father and my brothers…" She laughed a little bit smiling at him
"So? What do you want?" Patton asked
"Well… you can start by cleaning this room" She smiled at him
Patton looked around and notice all the trash on the floor and on top of his bed "Fair enough mom" The boy chuckled at her and then got up, he started grabbing the trash from his room
"You were afraid I was going to accept his confession?" Numbuh 86 asked while Patton threw some candy packages inside a trash bin
"Pretty much, felt like I got too confident no boy would be able to like you too" Patton said as he threw the trash on top of his bed all inside the bin then started fixing his bed covers
"Am I that terrible?" Numbuh 86 asked sighing
"I'd say some people exaggerate, but you definitely aren't an easy person to befriend" Patton said as he finished cleaning his office and sat right next to Numbuh 86
"Fair enough…" She said
"So? Are you going to reject me?" Patton asked straightforwardly
Numbuh 86 paused for a moment then looked at the boy, she sighed grabbing her communicator "Yeah It's me… Near the moonbase north observatory… okay, wait for me there" The girl put her communicator back in her pocket and turned her attention back at Patton who looked confused "Come with me" The girl got up and left the room, Numbuh 60 followed her to the Hangar where both operatives went to moonbase
It didn't take long for them to arrive at the moonbase "Can you tell me what's going on?" Patton asked annoyed at her secrecy
"Would it kill you to be patient?" Numbuh 86 said as they arrived at the observatory
Patton then noticed Numbuh 132 waiting on a bench looking at space a little anxious
"Wait here" Numbuh 86 said then she approached Numbuh 132
Numbuh 60 rested against a wall far away from the two, he saw the two talking, he noticed the boy lowering his head but nodding in understanding, Patton sighed as he grabbed his communicator while watching the two
A couple of minutes later Numbuh 86 finally got up from the bench leaving the boy alone, she looked at Patton and sighed "Don't know how you do this so easily" The girl said resting her back against a wall right next to him
"You dumped him huh?" Patton said
"Yeah…" She sighed
"Is he okay?" Patton asked
"He said he will be fine" Numbuh 86 said "He is pretty nice"
"He looks like an okay guy" Patton said "So? Where does this leave us?" Patton asked, he was immediately answered as he felt Numbuh 86 grabbing his hand
"I'm okay with dating you, I need someone who can handle me in a fight and the other option was Numbuh 4" She sighed blushing a little while still looking at Numbuh 132
"So you don't like me?" Patton asked but immediately regretted as the girl stomped on his foot
"T-This kind of stuff takes time okay?!" She said "I mean… I guess you are pretty for a boy, but your personality is the real problem" She said pointing at his face
"My personality?" He raised an eyebrow "You are the one who is hated by everyone"
"Pushovers" She said smiling at him
Patton sighed "Anyway, wanna get out of here and hang some other place?"
"Sure, I know a nice mess hall at the west sector, it's always pretty much dead" Just as Numbuh 86 was ready to leave she looked at Numbuh 132 and noticed a girl was sitting next to him now "Uhhh… You boys recover quick huh?" She said "Wait…" Numbuh 86 took a closer look and noticed the girl was the same one who confessed to Patton yesterday, she looked at her boyfriend who was blushing a little trying to avert her gaze, she grinned at him.
"What?" Patton asked a little embarrassed
"So the Training Drill sergeant has a heart" She asked poking at him
"I have no idea what you are talking about" Patton said as he started walking away from the observatory while Numbuh 86 followed right next to him "Wait"
"What?" Patton turned to Fanny and was taken by surprise as the girl pulled him close for a kiss in the middle of the hallway
The boy rested his back against a wall and pulled her close as he hugged her the both of them kissing, they parted lips after a while "Is this what couples do?"
"I guess so, I never dated anyone, I just reject them" Patton chuckled
"Show off, we really need to work on your personality" She sighed slightly embarrassed
The next day at the Moonbase cafeteria Rachel and Fanny were eating at a table "Are you going to decommission that guy from Spain today?" Rachel asked while eating a slice of pizza
Numbuh 86 who was also eating a slice of pizza looked at a clipboard she had in hand "The one from Spain, the guy from Alaska and two guys from Europe, I don't know how to spell this stuff" She showed Rachel her clipboard while she tried to eat her pizza which was stretching
"Good Morning" Patton had just arrived carrying a tray with a slice of pepperoni pizza
"Morning" Rachel greeted the Drill sergeant as he passed by her, he hunched over and gave Numbuh 86 a quick kiss
A bunch of gasps and whispering could be heard around the cafeteria as Patton sat at the table right next to his girlfriend, Numbuh 86 groaned "People are so dramatic" She said before drinking a can of soda then looked at Rachel who just smiled at her "You don't sound so surprised though"
"You had to see his face when Numbuh 132 confessed to you that day" Rachel snickered "It wasn't hard figuring out what was going on" She said as she laughed with Numbuh 86
"Hilarious…" Numbuh 60 said as he opened a can of cola ignoring the two.
