A/N: Hello my friends! My schedule change at work has changed to the point where I can definitely start writing more often. Hopefully I can finally make good on my promises from earlier. For right now though, I will do my best!

Waves Part 5

As Naruto walked from the Kyubi, he made his way towards a feeling he got within his soul. The sewer setting slowly faded into an inky blackness until a faded yellow glow shined as Naruto walked towards it. The shine faded into a black room where the only light came from a glowing orb. Naruto, confused, walked towards that glow. That was then, that the room started to flood with what seemed to be blood but felt like rushing water. Naruto tried to swim as strongly as he could against the current, to the glow. The current became to strong and pushed Naruto away.

i'Why didn't I save him,'/i a girls voice sobbed, i'I could have saved him'/i

Naruto's eyes widened as tears streamed down them. He started to get flashes of a preteen girl and a preteen boy. The boy, boisterous arrogant, shouted to the sky that he would surpass god. The girl, reserved and kind, clapped for the strange boy. Naruto saw everything leading up to the girls unintentional sealing. He saw the boy, surprising a mobster. The girl then admonished the boy for using her as a microphone while she was transformed as a kusarigama, the same shape as the one he himself had used to combat the Demon Brothers. After the surprise "entrance", the gang started shooting at the duo. When the boy called out to the girl to transform into a smoke bomb. The girl, embarrassed tears in her eyes, complied. When the smoke cleared, the two had vanished into the vents. As they crawled out through the vent system, something had caught the boy's eye. What he saw had disgusted both the girl and the boy. The girl looked as if she was about to vomit. And the boy? The boy gave off an uncontrollable wave of rage. He immediately turned to the girl.

"Tsubaki, save anyone alive, protect them and call the hospital," the boy had said, "I will take care of things here."

The girl, Tsubaki, went to argue when the boy just ignored her and ran towards the direction they had just run from. Unable to get through to the boy's anger, she reluctantly called emergency services and saved anyone she could.

In a flash of white, Naruto was then shown the boy's standing body, a pile of corpses around him while the mobster (Naruto had assumed was the boss), holding a smoking tommy gun. Tsubaki had arrived to see the scene as shown, as the boss ran off, retreating into a hidden passage way. The girl ran up to the body only to stop and see all his wounds.

Both her and Naruto started to shed tears. A life cut short, before they could even achieve their goal, caused Naruto to sob uncontrollably along side Tsubaki. The scene transitions to an empty lot covered in thousands of katanas wrapped in yellow caution tape as Tsubaki, no longer the kind reserved girl at the beginning of the visions, wildly attacked a long haired man. The man, a samurai by the looks of it, had taken her chance at revenge against those who killed her partner, her Meister, her friend! Tsubaki screamed wildly as she attacked him, transforming her hand into a larger version of her kama form's blade. The man sighed and knocked her around. He moved in for the kill when he noticed her cries of anguish.

"Why didn't I save him," she cried, "I could have saved him!"

The man had then knocked her unconscious. When she awoke, she was alone in the DWMA's infirmary. As she remembered what happened she curled into a ball on the bed and sobbed. To protect herself, she transformed into kusarigama and sealed her soul away inside. When she was found, the nurse had taken her to Shinigami-sama who had just finished talking to Naruto himself.

"So that's what happened, Tsubaki-san," Naruto said as he was pushed through all of Tsubaki's memories. He blinked away his tears and gained a determined look. He started to swim against the current of memories as fast and as strong as he could. He would make it! But when he got close enough to the glow, it had changed from a gentle yellow to a despair-filled purple. A deep, sorrowed eye looked at him before he was forced awake.

i"Leave me alone!"/i Tsubaki's voice echoed in his head.

Naruto awoke back at the docks with a sharp pain in his head.

'Damn, I thought I could reach her,' Naruto thought as he walked back inside the home of his client.

"Kakashi-sensei, I..." Naruto was stopped by a strange sight, as was Sasuke (who had walked in a couple of seconds after Naruto).

Sakura, was sitting with a woman with heterochromia and black hair, strangely fawning over said woman's fire arms.

"Uhh, you okay there, Sakura-chan?" came Naruto's amused remark, "Also, who are you?"

Sakura blushed at her crush's reaction to her new friend's weapons. After she sheepishly laughed, she introduced Naruto to her new companion and explained the situation. It had turned out that Shinigami-sama was right to be somewhat concerned about the barrier's slow breaking since someone from Redgrave was here. Naruto decided that he would immediately contact him to report what had happened.

To say that Lady was surprised was an understatement. Not only was the God of Death, the Grim Reaper, real, but he was really goofy. What had been explained to her, however, made her surprise a bit more serious. She had to contact Dante or Nero soon so she could explain the situation.

"I could help you with that," Shinigami had said, as if reading her mind.

A few hours later, Shinigami reappeared on the window, with Dante. It was like the split screen games she would see Nero playing in his free time.

"Well," the silver haired man said after the shock of his sudden "phone call" via mirror, "This is different."

"How do you think I feel," Lady responded, just as flabbergasted.

After explaining the situation to Dante, and Naruto making his report on his progress with Tsubaki to Shinigami-sama, they decided on a plan. Shinigami-sama's researchers had studied the barrier and given an estimation of at least another year and a half before the barrier starts to merge the three pockets, and after three for it to shatter completely, merging the pockets back with the world at large. Shingami-sama had given Naruto, Sakura, Kakashi, Lady, and Dante a mission that would span those three years.

Be ready for the merging, and all the evils that were to come with it. Get stronger. Find a goal to reach. And be ready.

A/N: For some of you wondering what happened to Black Star, there you go. Something about that to clear up. I do NOT hate Black Star, he's actually my favorite male character in SE. However, even if I like the character, that doesn't mean I'm blind to their character flaws. I find it meaningful to have those character flaws. This maybe a Smart Naruto fic, for example, but he still has a few negative qualities. He is going to do stupid stuff in line with his mostly similar moral code. Sakura will still hit people for seemingly no reason. My feelings are transparent about Sasuke. And Kakashi, despite going out with Iruka in this, is still an aloof war veteran with all the stuff that go with that
