Chapter 3

It was after work and Kara was at the Tower having a chat with Nia and J'onn in the computer room. She had been hoping for an update on finding Enigma, but J'onn said that ARGUS didn't have anything. The same could not be said for Nyssa's contacts.

"Nyssa reached out and gave me some coordinates. She warned me to fully investigate them before jumping the gun," the Martian told them.

"Why?" Kara was surprised that the former League of Assassins leader would hand them a clue when she'd been handing them off to ARGUS all along. Nyssa herself had returned to Gotham to aid Kate. Diana would be leaving soon to resume her work around the world and Nyssa didn't have a specific port of call so to speak so she decided Gotham would be a good place for the next little while.

"So, we're not surprised? Or maybe because she's not sure if they're totally legit?" Nia wondered.

"Could be both. The coordinates turn out to not be far from here," J'onn said.

"You think ARGUS was able to shut things down fast enough that that was as far as they got?" Kara asked.

"Explains a lot actually. I mean they haven't been found elsewhere," the Martian figured.

"Well, we might have another problem," Kara decided that she needed to bring this up now.

"What?" J'onn looked at her.

"Miss Grant. There's something up with her. She just tried to pull a fast one on me and she's never done that before," Kara told him.

"Something is up definitely," Nia agreed.

"In what way?" Papa Bear wanted to know.

"She just tried to switch my one-time article into a multiple part article – which you never do. It takes more planning than a snap decision and she knows that. Plus, she's been overly interested in my coverage of Enigma," the blonde explained.

"Overly interested?" That caused J'onn to raise an eyebrow.

"Yes – to the point where I had to promise an exclusive interview with myself when Supergirl catches Enigma before she'd relent," Kara said.

"She's always been pushy but this… this was different. She's even been asking me about how Kara knows Supergirl," Nia chimed in.

"Ok that does seem odd. You think that Enigma got to her?" J'onn asked.

"I honestly have no idea. Or why Enigma would want to get to her. What agenda could she fulfill with taking over Miss Grant?" Kara wondered.

"I don't know, but we need to examine her more closely. After we take a look at these coordinates," the Martian told them.

"OK so you said that it was close by. How close are we talking?" Nia asked.

"M'gann is undercover on the city bus heading toward them. She should be there in about twenty minutes. When she exits the bus, she'll resume comms contact," J'onn explained.

"Shouldn't she have some back up?" Kara was a little concerned.

"Brainy is on a separate bus, not far behind her. We went in camouflage. Don't want to spook anyone," he winked. Kara nodded. This was hopefully a good lead. The blonde's patience was really wearing thin or maybe it was more than that. Her phone rang and she quickly answered it.

"Hey Kara," it was Alex.

"Hey, what's up?" Her sister responded.

"Are you free tonight?" The redhead seemed cagey.

"We're onto something. Can I get back to you on that?" Kara wondered.

"Oh, what have you got?" Alex's tone shifted.

"Nothing I want to mention over the phone," which meant it was about Enigma and her sister understood.

"Oh, that kind of something. Let me know if you need anything. We can talk tomorrow," with that the call was over. It was odd but Kara had a sneaking suspicion it was about Alex and Kelly's relationship.

"Papa Bear," the voice came over the comms.

"We're on," J'onn announced.
