Son Of A
Silverhand Rogue
Disclaimer: Had this fun little idea of where V's the son of Rogue and Johnny through the simple explanation that Rogue had the embryo frozen as at the time she wasn't ready for a kid until much later. And this being Cyberpunk, I figured something like this could easily be able to happen. Though I had bounced between it being Alt or Rogue being his mom but in the end I chose Rogue.
Summary: V, Former member of the Bakker Nomad Clan and now Merc of Night City with his choom Jackie Welles, has a run in with an old friend at the Afterlife.
The Mercs known as Jackie Welles and V made their way into the Afterlife to celebrate a recent Gig they'd just pulled off that day. Each of them also still wearing their bulletproof vests, vests they'd taken to continually wearing ever since the Konpeki Plaza Heist. Something Rogue had been insistent on as she had no desire to lose her son on something this big and it had been the thing that had saved Jackie's life in the end. Unfortunately, V had lost his life anyway thanks to Dexter DeShawn but because of the Relic, he'd been able to come back to life and be saved by Goro Takemura and Viktor Vektor. Even if he was currently forced to share internal living space with his own father, Johnny Silverhand. The fact the whole thing wasn't outright killing him was a miracle and V was currently trying to find ways to rid himself of the whole thing without dying again and this time it being very permanent. Especially as the whole process could have him be replaced by his father or because of the genetics they share, become an entirely new person.
Which again, not something V or even his old man wanted. As the two men made their way to the bar where Claire could always be found and ready to take orders for drinks, the two could easily hear someone yelling over the loud music at the Queen of Fixers herself. "Wow, that one's got quite the voice on 'em. Not to mention brave enough to yell at Rogue of all people." Praised Jackie while V paled.
"If she sees me, she'll have even more of a voice."
Jackie and even Claire looked at him strangely before her gossip senses tingled. "Ooh, I smell somethin' juicy." She declared.
"Yeah, spill, hermano!" Added Jackie, just as eager to hear how his brother in all but blood somehow knew the mystery yeller.
But thanks to life and the universe in general, V wouldn't get a chance to get out of explaining thanks to the fact the owner of said voice happened to catch a glimpse of him. "YOU!"
"Aww Hell." Moaned the former Bakker.
Everyone in the Afterlife watched as the dark haired woman with dreads marched up to V with a pissed off look on her face and punched him. Causing Jackie to shout out in Spanish as everyone looked on in shocked surprise. To everyone's furthered shocked surprise, the woman would give V one Hell of a kiss seconds later, only to punch him again! "Good to see you too, Panam. Beautiful as ever." He told her as he spat blood on to the floor.
Then wincing as he knew his Ma was gonna kill him for that! "That's all you have to say to me, you asshole!?"
"Is there a problem here?" Asked Rogue coolly as she came up to the woman and her son.
Panam stared at the Fixer Queen with a pissed off expression on her face. "Yeah, there's a big damn problem! This jackass of a gonk left me high and dry the morning after we got married when we were both 18 and 19 respectively! But I guess that's my fault doing that when we only knew each other a month!"
And only having met thanks to some interclan relations between the Aldecaldos and the Bakkers. Various reactions could be heard through out the Afterlife as Rogue gave her full attention to her son. "VINCENT JONATHAN AMENDIARES!" Yelled out the mother and Jackie and Claire both winced.
"Ooh, she three named you, that's never good." Muttered the man with Claire and several others nodding in agreement.
Out of the corner of his eye, V could see his old man laughing his ass off over the whole thing. Jackass.
"Do you two know one another?" Asked a perplexed and still highly pissed off Panam before Rogue could really get going.
V sighed and rubbed his head. "Panam… Meet my mother, Ma, meet Panam." Helpfully informed the man and causing Panam's eyes to widen in shock.
"The Queen of Fixers is your mother!? If that's the case, why the Hell were you out on the road with the Bakkers!?"
"That's… A long story I don't wanna get into now but yeah, she's my Ma."
"And one who is none too pleased right now with you, Vincent." Coldly informed his mother.
"Y'know, I never even knew his name is Vincent. He only ever went by V."
"That had to be awkward to place on the marriage certificate." Muttered someone as V felt the hole he was in getting ever deeper.
Rogue scowled before speaking again. "I have hated that name ever since you returned to this city and didn't tell me for 3 months."
Her son grimaced while Panam gave him a very unimpressed look as winces were seen by a number of those in the Afterlife. "You will tell me why you never told me of this particular development, Vincent. And furthermore, you will tell Ms. Palmer, your wife, why you left her in the manner you did. Something your father would have done and as I recall, you wanted to not follow in his footsteps in any way. Which was one of the reasons you left me and Night City all those years ago."
Something she hadn't been happy about at the time and had threatened to kick him out for good if he left out the door and her boy did exactly that. Not seeing or hearing from him in years until one of her's learned he'd been seen in Night City and making quite the name for himself while staying with the Welles family. That he'd been back for 3 months and not said a word to her had hurt and pissed the woman off like nothing else and had resulted in a screaming match at the time. Even leading to a friendship between herself and Mama Welles. V was silent as he prayed for something to come up to get him out of this mess. "Well? I'm waiting." Panam told him.
"Panam… I…"
"Yes?"
"I panicked, okay!? I woke up and realized what happened and I panicked and delta'd outta there."
"You… You panicked?"
He nodded with a look of regret on his face. "I did and I've regretted it ever since." The two of them getting drunk and as a result, getting married while no where near sober hadn't been the way he wanted things to go between the two of them.
Panam threw up her hands. "Oh! Well, that makes it so much better!" Yelled the woman and for good measure, kneed him.
Causing every male there to wince in sympathy as he fell down in pain as all the women, even Rogue herself, nodded in approval. The Queen then stopped the younger woman from leaving to go and deal with her Nash situation. "Palmer, take him with you to deal with the situation."
Her words shocked the former Aldecaldo considerably. "Yes, I know I am not one to give this sort of opportunity but considering what my dumbass of a son did to you, I figured I can allow this one exception."
"I'd rather be nowhere near him."
"I know, but think of all the guilt trips you can lay on him."
"Don't… Don't I get a say in all this?" Moaned out V and Jackie shook his head at his best friend while Panam looked somewhat eager at the prospect of the amount of guilt tripping she could do to her husband.
"Hermano, that's just gonna dig you deeper into your hole."
"No, Vincent, you don't."
Groaning could be heard. "Fine! But I want a divorce!"
"I'm sure we can work on that once things are settled. "Now, Jaquito, pick up my son and put him in the Archer or whatever vehicle you two showed up in this time. Ms. Palmer can drive since he's not in the right state to do so."
"Yes ma'am!" As no way was he gonna tell the woman no!
"I'll also be having a word with your mother about Vincent. A double helping of motherly disappointment is just the thing I feel to help make him see the error of his ways."
"Ooh, you are in big trouble, hermano." Muttered Jackie as V groaned loudly as he was picked up and placed over Jackie's shoulder.
"Alright, on we go then." Panam nodded curtly and followed the big man while glaring heatedly at V.
"I still want a divorce." Grumbled the woman to herself.
Author's Notes: Ooh, V's in big doodoo.
