I didn't realise it's been over six month since the last update, really sorry about.
This chapter was really, really hard to write, I blocked on it and had to be far more careful and thorough. Hope you will like it. I also lost a lot of motivation in the story alongside some life events that made writing hard. But as you've seen with Hogwart's Dragon, I'm back to writing, more often than before. I still am very busy with work, and don't have that much time to write, but I'm managing.
The next chapter for this story though, I can't give a date. I haven't started it, I still have my notes and ideas but it needs work and refinement.
Tell me how the last scene feels like, is it good? Bad? Credible? I have absolutely no romantic experience so I'm not sure of what I'm writing there.
Special thanks to Terra 1211, who's been an awesome support!

Thank you for your patience and good reading.
As soon as we arrived in Blackrock Mountain, I let out a deep breath, still using Occlumency to appease my mind and thoughts.
I just couldn't believe what we almost did, especially where and when, in front of all those taurens. It had been as if the world had disappeared, leaving only me and Mightion with each other, loving the presence of the other, ready to cross a threshold not yet met, only to have the world to remind itself to us. I wasn't ashamed of trying to kiss Mightion, but I should have realised that it wasn't the time nor the place.
"This is... different from what I expected. Quite different."
I turned toward Roko, watching him starting to take a look at the throne room almost with worry, with a special focus on the red sky. That was indeed a very unique sight, especially for someone like Roko who most likely never left his village and didn't knew much of the world.
"We are in a volcano, different is to be expected." Reminded Mightion still stoic, not letting any kind of emotion colour his words.
Okay, I needed to focus a bit. Roko first, Mightion and me next.
"If you don't mind, we can find a suitable room for you now." I suggested, banishing the last traces of embarrassment from my visage and voice.
"Yes, that would be appreciated." Replied Roko, still looking outside for a few seconds before turning toward me.
I gave a look at Mightion, who replied with a little nod, and I exited the throne room with Roko, leaving the handsome blood-elve behind. We didn't went far, there would be no point into giving him a room in any of the lower floors, seeing how massive the mountain was; so we reached a large room of six meters large, eight meters wide, and just tall enough that Roko wouldn't have to worry about lowering himself.
The room itself was quite bare, with a single window at the back. There was literally nothing beside a sturdy looking table and a chair that looked too small for the large tauren.
"I know that its very empty, but we will go pick up more furniture for you. Is there anything you would like? Do you sleep on a bed or anything else?" I asked, not really certain of what I could offer him.
"We taurens are often a bit too heavy for beds, we prefer a very large cushion filled with hay or wool." He replied.
"Well I'm sure we can find that. Perhaps not today though, sorry." I apologised.
"Don't worry, I've slept on the ground before. It is no problem. I do have a few questions if you don't mind."
"Not at all." I assured.
"Thank you. You said that we were in a volcano, and it is indeed quite hot even if the sun isn't bathing our backs, but is this why the sky looks like this?" He asked, pointing at the very small window carved in the farthest wall.
"As far as I know, yes. I have never seen the sun through the ashes, its a constant fiery sky. It doesn't bother me as I learned to live in a similar place, but it is very unsettling at first." I replied.
"And if there's no sun, there is no life." Roko continued a bit gloomy.
"This isn't entirely true. Many species live here, despite the extremely harsh conditions. You'll find predators mostly, giant spiders, wolves and salamanders, but they all live here. Plants do have a really hard time to grow, but some manage, mainly some very sturdy roots and others that evolved to survive the harsh conditions." I explained, trying my best to show that we weren't living in what many would probably call hell.
"It is... depressing. I heard many tales of deserts of sand and dried dirt, crossed by my ancestors, but never of ashes." He sighed.
"I know it may look uninteresting and hostile, and that our home isn't very good looking, bland and half destroyed, but we are here if you need anything. Come see me if you want something, need to go somewhere or even if its just to talk. I happened to be very far from knowledgeable about many things on Azeroth and I do enjoy a good talk every now and then." I smiled at him.
Roko looked up at me and gave me a small smile as he bowed.
"Thank you, Amaria. I will remember it."
"Its a pleasure. I need to go talk with Mightion, is there anything else you might need?" I asked again.
"I will unpack my belongings and take a small look around, I think I will come see you then." Roko answered.
"Perfect. See you later."
Leaving him here, I felt good knowing that he wasn't treating me too much like a Lady, not using any titles or honorifics. It was also nice to know that he was okay with staying here, even if he still had the choice of returning to Thunderbluff should he ever want to or if he didn't wanted to stay here anymore. I sincerely couldn't blame him for that.
Returning to the throne room, I found Mightion waiting there, sitting on the stone throne with a pensive expression. He stood up as soon as I came in, walking toward me as I did the same. Now alone, the kiss we almost shared came back to my mind and I didn't really know what to say about this.
"I hope you're not discouraged." Started Mightion.
"Discouraged?" I echoed.
"About our kiss." He continued.
I took a big breath, readying myself.
"No. It wasn't the time and mostly not the right place, I got carried away without real reason." I said.
"That it wasn't the place, that I agree. But, would you do it again, if the place was nicer and quieter?" Mightion asked, taking a small step forward.
"I- yes." I affirmed. "I'm not against this anymore. I love you, and I want to make it clear."
He sighed in relief, and I did a bit of the same, feeling the last remains of embarrassment and anxiety disappear.
"Glad to hear it. I'll admit, I didn't realise either where we were."
"It was embarrassing." I agreed.
"Not really, but I do not want our birthing love to be displayed so openly. Only now, do I realise that you wouldn't like it." He shrugged at first before taking an apologetic look.
"Yeah..." I trailed off.
A small, not uncomfortable, silence passed, before he spoke again.
"Perhaps, we could catch of now? I'm sure Roko won't come find us soon." My lover suggested with a small smile, looking at me with a lovingly and slightly lustful gaze.
"No." I cut him off, a bit too harshly as I corrected myself. "I wouldn't really mind it, but the moment has passed. Later, if you don't mind?" I offered.
He frowned a bit at the beginning, but looked satisfied once I was finished.
"Alright, I will make it agreeable and comfortable for you. You can look toward tonight." He said with a bright smile.
I had no idea what he had in mind, and while it was slightly worrying, I chose to push my worries aside.
"Its a date then." I smiled back.
"Now, is Roko satisfied with his accommodation?" He asked.
"He seems a bit depressed over the general aspect of the region, but I'm sure he'll get over it." I replied, glad to change the subject.
"Good. I need to get back to Wyrmrest Temple for a few things, do you wish to come?" He offered.
"I think I'll stay here, just to help Roko if he needs anything. Maybe we'll go to Stormwind after, to get everything he needs. Do you want me to make you a portal?" I suggested.
"It won't be possible. I seriously doubt that a Tauren will be allowed into the heart of the Alliance, especially in the middle of a war." He replied with a small frown.
I stopped at that, realising that he was right. But it wouldn't matter too much.
"It's a bit sad, but I'll go alone then. Still interested in a portal?"
"If it doesn't hurt you." Mightion imposed.
"Even if it did, Roko is here to help." I shrugged.
The portal was quickly, from my perspective, brought up, displaying the summit of the temple.
"I'll see you soon, my love." He said, getting closer to me.
"And me, you." I replied, looking up to him as I put my hands in his back.
Our faces got closer to each other, and unlike earlier where we were overwhelmed by our feelings, we shared a small, fleeting kiss as we hugged tightly before disengaging. It was so different, for something that looked so similar, that I didn't really know what to think about it, expect that I liked it.
Smiling, Mightion walked to the portal and, with a last look at me, stepped in. Exhausting in happiness, I closed the portal.
And I found myself alone. It felt slightly strange, after spending so long being always near Mightion, except for the night where he went to the sanctum to get his powers back, to be alone. That left a small, empty feeling inside me, that I knew how to fill as I thought of Mightion. Such emotion, so foreign and yet so powerful, was a bit weird, but I also knew with certitude that it wouldn't last, that Mightion would return soon.
Taking a deep breath to clear my mind, along with a small touch of occlumency, I thought about what I could do next. Roko would certainly need my assistance at some point, let it be to know the way out, which would be quite long by foot. As I thought of this, I realised that there must be a quicker access from the throne room to the entrance of the mountain. It didn't make sense that the kings or lords living there before had to go through all these levels, in all those small paths or massive rooms, only to get to the doors.
So, I started to look around in more details, especially at the back of the throne room and toward the royal quarters. One room had crumbled long ago, so this one was out. Another contained the bed, a private bathroom with toilets and a stone bath, the wardrobes and personal belongings of the royal couple. Lastly, a large door with a strong lock led to a corridor with several small rooms, most likely the servants, with a large steel plate acting as ground at the end. It looked to be fixed to a pair of large chains on the sides, and a lever with several indications washed away by time, attached in the steel plateforme.
I walked up to it, stepped very carefully on top of what looked like an elevator, and pushed the lever down to the nearest mark. A deep rumble echoed through the whole room, with dust falling from the ceiling where I noticed two huge wheels wrapped with the chains, starting to move slowly as the chains unfurled
A sudden shock, along with a fall of two meters, took my by surprise, yelping briefly and catching on to the lever. Luckily, I didn't pushed it down any further and the elevator started to go down a bit quicker, stopping briefly after in front of a new corridor that was completely crumbled.
"Looks functioning enough." I said, pushing the lever two more marks down.
The next corridor passed quickly, leaving me just enough time to see that it was open and revealing a room filled with old, rusting weapons, caught in hundreds on webs and resting on several racks.
At the third level, the elevator stopped and I got to see the kitchens, looking far cleaner than many other parts of the mountain. I made a mental note to come back here and to make a small inventory of what was present, along with buying food. Me and Mightion wouldn't really need it, but I didn't dislike to cook and Roko would certainly need it.
Satisfied with this, I pushed the lever down to the last level. I had to be a bit patient, as it took nearly two minutes of constantly creaking chains and small rumble as the elevator got down, but I finally arrived at the ground floor. It took a few turns around a couple of corridors before I arrived in front of a large door that led straight in the massive room filled with lava, with the path leading outside.
"That will definitely make walking around easier. And I should probably see how Roko is fairing." I advised myself, walking back to the elevator and pushing the lever in the other way to the maximum.
A few minutes later, and I was back at the top level of the mountain. I took my time as I went back to Roko's room, thinking if he might need anything else and if there was something that I needed or wanted to buy at Stormwind.
Once I reached his bedroom, I knocked on the door and waited as I listened to the heavy steps of the tauren coming closer.
"Amaria, is there anything I can do for you?" He asked, opening the door entirely.
"I should be asking that." I joked briefly. "I will go to Stormwind soon, do you want me to buy you something? It can be anything, really. I'll buy more supplies, food mainly, so I also wanted to know what Taurens eat, if there was anything that you don't eat."
"Thank you for your foresight, it is very appreciated. We do not eat cows, and tend to avoid meat in general as you probably expected. Fish is acceptable. Our diet is mostly vegetable and fruit based." Roko replied, remaining very serious. "As for my needs, I would be very thankful if you could bring me some earth as well as a seeds."
"Any seeds in particular?" I asked.
"No, it can either be seeds of fruits or trees. Basically, seeds from any type of plant."
"That's perfectly fine, I'll make sure to get some for you. Would it be to redecorate a bit?" I hazarded.
"I- if I may be straightforward with you, the connection to the Earth-Mother in this mountain frightens me." Revealed Roko, much to my surprise.
"Really? I do feel the earth too, and while it is slightly broken, it's nothing that can be changed with time." I replied, feeling my connection to the mountain, and through it, Azeroth, as I spoke. It was as I said, fractured, damaged, but it didn't left me with a bad feeling.
"I believe that we do not feel the world in the same way. I've been trained to feel the Earth-Mother, the nature and the life present through all our world. I may not be competent enough to give you a definite answer, but to me, this mountains lacks life. I feel death, pain, destruction and fire. Its... unlike anything I've ever felt before." He explained.
"Did your teachers ever told you about such things?" I asked.
"They did, when we discussed about the assault of the Firelord on Mount Hyjal. They said that it felt like life was revolting against itself. Fire is a part of life, a cleaning force that helps nature to grow back, but for it to become a tool of destruction is against the values of the Earth-Mother. I suppose that now, I know what they felt back then."
I remained silent after that, mulling over his words for a few seconds. I could only agree with him, not having much experience with my own connection to the earth, and while I felt different feelings from the Mountain, I believed Roko's words.
"Then we will have to remediate this. I will ask my mother if a few dragons of the red dragonflight can come, along with some green ones. Let me be clear with you, Roko. I like this place, and we black dragons enjoy the presence of lava around us, but at the same time I do not like how this place looks. Now that me and Mightion are here, we can try to stabilise the volcano, and after that we can let the other flights reinvigorate the lands. I don't expect it to become as green and beautiful as the plains in Mulgore, but perhaps we can bring back life to this land. And you could be the pillar of this little project; prepare everything, find the right plants that could grow here and try to reconnect it with the Earth-Mother. What do you say?" I finally asked, offering him my hand as I smiled.
I meant every word I said. I did liked the place and the lava, the height as well, but it simply looked way too dark and gloomy to me, along with the lands filled with ashes spreading all around the mountain. If I could help Roko do this, help him fulfil his role as a druid and renew the connection of the Burning Steppes with the Earth-Mother, it would help me at the same time. A win-win situation.
The young tauren looked a bit taken aback by my driven speech, but I saw a flash of determination in his eyes just a moment before he shook my hand.
"It would be an honour, Amaria."
"As it is for me." I assured. "Back to the original reason of my presence, I'm going to Stormwind. Mightion is away at the Wyrmrest Temple, so I leave the Mountain in your hands. I should be back soon, but try not to fall into the lava."
With that said, I left a slightly shocked tauren behind me and returned to the throne room.
I didn't know how Mightion would return, either by flying which would take a good while, or perhaps he would ask Tyri to make a portal for him. I thought to go to Stormwind as a dragon, flying all the way there, but chose not to. It would be taking too much time, when I could simply create a portal back and forth and spend only the time needed to cast the portals instead of the two hours needed to come and go there.
Gathering magic in my left hand, I summoned the portal for Stormwind and stepped through it.
It took me a bit longer than I expected to get everything I wanted, but I managed to return to my new home after an hour and a half. Bags full of food, a couple of new kitchen utensils along with new cutlery and finally a whole bag of earth along with many seeds of all sorts that I bought from a now very happy peasant that hadn't expected me to come to his farm, I was satisfied with my purchases.
And extendable bags were a blessing, that much wasn't said nearly enough.
A quick look in the throne room revealed nothing important, so I went to the kitchen area and gave the place a good cleaning, throwing away all the rusted ones and those broken, replacing them with brand new ones. Same with most of the cutlery, of which only a very small amount survived, and I ended up filling the cupboards and the cellar with fresh food.
With that done, I walked back to Roko's room to give him the seeds and the earth. A bit to my surprise, he wasn't there. He left his door open, so I took a quick look inside after knocking several times and warning him that I was coming in, only to find that he was missing. Not really knowing where he went, and not nearly motivated enough to go through the numerous corridors of the place, I simply gave up and decided to instead wait for him to return.
Back in the throne room, I went to the bedroom that me and Mightion would be sharing, and gave it as good a cleaning as for the kitchen, with the difference that I didn't had anything yet to replace the broken furniture.
The afternoon was meeting its end that I recognised a familiar magic suddenly coming from not far away. I dropped the broken pieces of table that I was levitating and crossed the corridor to return to the throne room.
Seeing Tyri coming out of a portal after Mightion wasn't much of a surprise, as I recognised the magic belonging to the blue dragoness, but I must admit to not have expected to see her come here so soon. She looked around the place for a bit, a small sneer on her face as she brushed aside some of the ashes that were starting to cover her bright blue clothes, but other than that she seemed fine.
"Tyri, good of you to come visit." I greeted her, smiling brightly.
"We saw each other this morning." She deadpanned.
"Doesn't mean I can't greet you. And thanks for returning me Mightion, it would have been quite the long flight back." I continued.
"She agreed when I mentioned where she would need to drop me." Added Mightion.
"Yes. I do want to see where you chose to live. And it's not looking great so far." Tyri replied.
"It will take some time, but I'm confident that we can give Blackrock Mountain a better look." I said.
"You would have to start by cleaning all these ashes, its getting in my hairs and ruining my clothes." She grumpily complained, brushing her clothes again.
"I do have a plan about that." I countered.
"You do?" Both she and Mightion said at the same time.
Proceeding to show rather than tell, I took out eleven brooms from my bag, spreading them on the floor.
"I forgot about these." Commented Mightion with a sceptical expression.
"I sincerely hope that you're not going to ask me to help you clean this dreadful place." Tyri warned me with a dangerous tone.
"Ha!" I shouted, laughing a bit at my friend's comment before I waved at her. "You? Cleaning? In your dreams."
"Are you insinuating something?" She glared at me.
"Yes. But that's not the point I'm trying to make. I won't ask you to clean, both because I'm pretty sure you don't know how to do it and because it would be useless. Its literally raining ashes all year long." I said, still getting the cold look from Tyri.
"Then why are you taking out these brooms?" Mightion intervened, briefly calming the blue dragoness.
"Well, back in my world, brooms could be animated to clean a place without any supervision." I started.
"We can do that too. It's nothing incredible." Tyri tried to shot me down.
"Perhaps, but I thought 'why not have brooms clean the place for us?' It would be far easier than any other solution."
"Yet they would have to do it constantly." Stopped me Mightion.
"Yes, and that's where the big magic comes in. I was planning to do it myself, but perhaps you could give me a hand?" I suggested, turning toward my blond haired friend.
"We're still not sure how much damage the corruption did to you. Tell us your idea before you go hurt yourself like a whelp." Replied Tyri.
"I want to cast a shield around this entire level, one that would only block ashes and dust to come in. I'm limiting to this level, as we have no use for the rest of the city, but it could be expanded to surround the whole mountain." I finally explained my plan.
One pair of eyes looked at me with doubt and a touch of interest, while the other was more serious and trying to gaze into me to see if I was saying the truth. I knew it was a bit of a big idea, but I found it quite interesting.
"It sounds like a powerful spell." Started Mightion, concerned.
"No, it's not." Instantly replied Tyri, her voice slightly scolding. "The idea is good, and it's quite easy as long as we restrict the shield to dust and ashes. It would only require a permanent source of magic, from which the spell could draw into to power itself."
"And that's the only issue I have." I said, happy to see that Tyri had no problem seeing where I was going. "I was thinking to power the spell on the mountain itself. Perhaps with lava."
"It wouldn't work. Lava has magic, yes, but its an extremely small amount. Not nearly enough for a spell like this." Cut me off Tyri. "However, accessing Azeroth's energy through the lava might be possible, but I don't think I've ever heard of it being used for something so trivial as keeping ashes at bay."
"Do you think she would mind?" I asked curious.
"I- I do not know." She replied a bit lost for word.
Tyri being lost for word didn't happened often, so I was happy with that.
"Wait, so this could work?" Asked Mightion.
"Yes, in practice." Replied Tyri cautiously. "But, there might be easier options available. Our very scales contain magic. If you take out an old one, and overcharge it as much as possible, it would power the spell for a couple of years. You would only have to redo it at the minimum every two years, three at the maximum."
"That's... far easier than what I imagined." I conceded.
"And safer." Added Tyri.
"So what are we waiting for?" Smiled Mightion.
I changed to my dragon form and started to look for an adequate scale. Dragons didn't lose scales often, but it happened whenever they were too damaged or didn't fit with the rest anymore. It barely took a couple of seconds to find one, near my injured claw, that I quickly ripped out almost painlessly, and tried to give it to Tyri.
"What are you doing?" She scolded me. "You're the one powering your scale, so get to work already."
A bit bashful, I started to channel my magic inside the scale, which was quite easy since it was quite literally a part of me that responded very well to my magic. I put as much magic as I could inside, watching as the scale took an eery red glow as small cracks appeared on its surface.
"That's enough." Stopped me Tyri.
I turned back into a human and held the big scale in my hands, feeling its warmth and power by mere contact.
"Now, the spell. First, put the arcane layers to limit the range of the field, link it to the scale, and then you can add the ash repelling spell." Guided me Tyri, watching the scale carefully.
I did just as she said, expanding the magic field around this whole level of the mountain, covering the walls and the air in a slightly blue glow. Fixing it to the scale was child play.
Constructing the spell matrix for the ash repelling spell? Way harder.
Thanks to the range limit being already defined, I already had a bit of the work done, but selecting the right magic fields and runes to make it repelling only ashes and dust was quite harder. Figuring the right order and the correct runes took a bit of time, barely a minute, but one of intense focus, until I was satisfied with the result. Sweating a bit, having used quite the large amount of magic already, I proudly showed my result to Tyri.
"Yes, it appears to be working. Good job." Complimented me Tyri, fixated on the spell.
Being praised by her, something rarer diamonds in this world, truly did wonders for my spirit, smiling broadly at her words.
"It's just a suggestion, but why not add a sound barrier too? For the volcano?" Suggested Mightion. Me and Tyri looked at him a bit surprised, I guess that neither of us thought about that. "We dragons are used to listening to the earth's rumble, but mortals are not. If we plan to have more than just Roko living here, then it might be more comfortable for them."
"That's a great idea." I immediately approved.
"It's not a necessity, but I do see the appeal. This will reduce the effectiveness of the scale, though. It would probably last half a year shorter." Added Tyri.
"Could you do it? I don't think I'm competent enough to be that selective with a sound spell. I would probably block all sounds from coming in." I asked her.
She gave me a disapproving glare, but didn't refused.
"We still have much to cover regarding your magic lessons." She warned me as she grabbed the scale.
"Yeah, probably." I agreed.
I watched as she added the sound barrier to the spells on the scale, weaving her blue magic into it as the scale started to float in the air, hovering at chest level.
"This should be enough. You'll just have to find where you want to put it, and forget about it until it needs to be recharged." Said Tyri.
"Perfect. Its working already." I smiled happily, observing the large entrance of the throne room being spared from dust and ashes as it was forced to remain outside. "Now, time to enchant the brooms."
I was about to start enchanting them, that Tyri stopped me.
"Don't." She said surprisingly kindly. "I can see that you're getting tired. I'll do it, it will be faster like this anyway."
Nodding, I stepped back as she was about to cast her spells. I watched the eleven brooms rise in the air, then suddenly remembered something.
"Wait! Leave one aside." I stopped her.
She gave me a curious glance but did as I asked, leaving one broom on the ground as the other ones where enchanted to clean the place at all times. They quickly started brushing away the ashes, removing a layer of dust from the ground before pushing it out of the barrier.
"Great! Now, watch this." I said slightly giddy as I took the last broom.
I had wanted to do this almost since I came into this world, and now that I had the opportunity I wouldn't waste it. Under the curious eyes of Mightion and Tyrygosa, I used an enchantement from my old world. I didn't knew it very well, and it was in truth lacking many others that were important for safety, but since I was unlikely to ever be hurt again by a fall, I didn't consider it an issue.
"Tada!" I presented them the enchanted broom, still in my hands.
Mightion was trying to look deeper into the broom, while Tyri was glaring at me.
"I can't see what you did to that broom." She grumbled.
"It doesn't matter, a demonstration will be better." I replied as I stepped on the broom.
"What are you doing?"
"Flying!" I cheered before pushing myself up.
I left the ground in a moment far faster than I could have expected, but it did nothing to my great mood. I was laughing even as I almost smashed into the two other dragons, who lowered themselves close to the ground just in time to avoid me.
"Amaria! What are you doing you idiotic whelp?!" Screamed Tyri.
"It's fun!" I shouted back as I flew out of the open platform of the throne room.
Now free from the restricting walls, I let my broom go faster. It was lacking a few features of my old broom, like some stabilizer and it was also stiffer to control, but I managed without problem. I had wanted to compare flying on a broom and flying as a dragon, and the two were truly distinct from each other. The broom gave me a feeling of speed and rush that my dragon form simply couldn't have. Plus, it brought back so many memories that it almost physically and mentally relaxed me.
I kept going for a few seconds until I saw Mightion in his dragon form fly toward me, and I found it very comical how slow he looked. I knew he wasn't, but the broom was quite fast and simply gave the feeling of being faster. I turned around and flew back to him, doing circles around his head as he tried to keep me in his field of view, a large smile on my face as I briefly brushed his muzzle before speeding away. He replied to my challenge with a roar and went to my pursuit.
While he was strong and fast, my broom could go on as long as I needed and he simply couldn't keep up with me. So, after fifteen minutes of fun and chases, I went back to the throne room with him right on my heels. Jumping from my broom and grabbing it with one hand, a large and kind of dumb smile on my face, I was greeted by the ever annoyed face of Tyri and a bewildered Roko standing beside her.
"Finally gracing us with your presence? Tired of playing silly games?" Tyri glared at me.
"Oh relax, it's all good fun and I missed it a lot. Aren't you surprised how fast a broom can fly?" I asked back, not taking much care into her jabs.
"No. I've seen far more impressive things than a stupid broom flying." She countered as Mightion landed, taking his mortal appearance again.
"It is not stupid. Could you imagine armies travelling on these brooms? They'd be able to arrive anywhere far quicker than any horse or gryphon, and they don't require food." Said Mightion much more interested, giving quite a look at the broom still in my hands.
"Perhaps, but it takes time and skill to master. But some like me are born for this." I boasted a bit before turning toward Roko.
"Is flying on brooms a common activity for dragons?" Asked the young tauren more than surprised.
"Absolutely not. Please never rely on her to know what real dragons are like, she's the complete opposite." Coldly replied Tyrygosa.
"I resent that." I replied.
"I don't care."
"Hmph." I turned toward Roko, looking slightly awkward. "Sorry for her Roko, she doesn't know how to express herself."
"I'm gonna-!" Tyri started only to be caught by Mightion as she was readying a spell, hid hand catching his and forcing her to fire her arcane bolt out of the window.
"I- if you say so." Said Roko a bit unsure before straightening a bit. "I came to see if you were back, I walked around a bit and found out that there are plants growing near some lava-pools. It was unexpected, but I can see life and nature through them, even in this place."
"Great! That reminds me, I have the earth and the seeds you asked me. Where would you like me to put them? I can clean a storage room for you." I assured, happy to see that he looked better now.
"Could it be possible to have them close to the entrance? Walking all the way up to gather everything would be bothersome."
"Ah, that also reminds me that I fixed the elevator." I added.
"Hmm... I would still prefer to have them down at the ground level." He decided.
"No problem. I've also bought fresh food, it's all in the kitchens, so just take whatever you need inside. Anything else?" I asked as I teleported the bags of seeds and earth close to the main entrance.
"I don't think so. I will return to study the plants growing near the lava-pools, I find them very interesting."
"Then I won't hold you back any longer. See you later." I smiled at him.
With that said, he turned around and I did the same, only to blink twice as I saw the look that Tyri was giving Mightion, who was still holding her wrist.
"That's a fine mate you've got there. Strong." Said Tyri with a smile that I didn't like one bit.
That smile, I first saw it when Fleur Delacour entered Hogwart's Great Hall, a smile of lust. Gathering magic in my hands, I cast the fastest portal spell I ever did and quickly ran at her, grabbing her arm before throwing her in the portal.
"What are you- Oh you're so-!" She started to rage just before she fell through the magic gate.
I closed the portal as soon as she was gone, huffing and frowning before turning toward Mightion.
"Can I know why you didn't release her as soon as you should have?" I questioned him.
"No reason, only that she wasn't struggling like I expected her to." He assured.
"And that means?"
"Absolutely nothing, my dear. I had no idea you could behave so childishly." He teased with a smile growing on his lips.
I fumed silently, my face turning a bit red, before huffing and turning around.
"Now, now, my dear. Don't forget what I promised you. Tonight shall be special, after all." Mightion added as he gently grabbed my arm and turned me around.
"Hmm, right." I remembered his words from earlier. I hugged him lightly and he returned it. "I don't know what to expect."
"Nothing crazy, this I swear."
That was good enough for me.
The evening arrived quickly, especially with how I was both looking toward it and dreading it.
We ate with Roko, ourselves only taking a few bites as we didn't really had to eat right now, and Roko enjoying a large bowl of salad, before wishing him good night right after he healed my hand again, which had slowly receded to its painful state as the day passed.
But now, now was the moment that I was dreading. Mightion and I were walking back toward our bedroom, with him walking ahead. I noticed the brand new door first, closed and hiding the bedroom behind.
"So?" I asked a bit worried.
"Please, Amaria, I gave you my word." He replied gently, placing a hand on the handle.
He opened the door, pushing it inward, and my eyes widened in surprise at the sight before me.
What used to be a broken bed, destroyed furniture and dust, had been replaced with a clean room, a large canopy bed, covered in sumptuous purple curtains. On the bed, two large and pristine white pillows rested against the headboard and the cover was of the same purple as the curtains. It was a sight to behold, and left me speechless for a few seconds. I don't think I ever saw a bed that good before, except for a similar one in mother's room.
"I- its beautiful. How did you get that? I thought we paid for a simple bed." I asked, still examining the bed from afar.
"No mere bed would do for us. After our talk with that merchant, I went back to him and paid him seven more gold if he could have the most glorious and comfortable bed made in three days. He told me that for ten more gold, he could have it ready for today." He kindly replied with a smile.
I walked to the bed and placed a hand on the sheet, instantly feeling how soft and nice they felt. If the whole bed was like this, it was by far the nicest bed I ever witnessed. And it was our bed.
"I hope you like it." Mightion added just as I looked at the curtains.
"If I like it? I never even dreamed of ever sleeping in such a luxurious bed."
"Then why don't we try it?"
Blushing hard at his words, I froze for a second at the thoughts that came to my mind.
"Calm down my love, didn't I say that we would never do something that you're not okay with? Please, tell me what troubles you so." Mightion reassured me as looked at me with worry.
"We're just going to sleep, right?" I asked.
"Why else would we have a bed? I thought you would like it." He continued a bit dishearten.
"Of course I like it, it's beautiful!" I hurriedly replied, truly meaning it. "It's just that, sleeping in a bed with you is... different. Not bad, just different."
"We already slept together a few times. What's the difference?" Mightion asked curiously.
"I- it's probably because I used to be human, but sleeping with someone else in a bed is... deeply intimate. Even if it's just sleeping. And because I never slept with another man." I answered a bit bothered by the subject.
"Happy to hear it! Though, we are naked when sleeping in our dragon form, yet we haven't done anything yet. Don't worry my love, I understand how different this might be for you, but you have nothing to worry about. Shall we get into bed?" He continued as he pointed his hand at the bed.
"I- alright." I conceded before thinking of an important detail. "But we're not sleeping naked!"
"If that's what you prefer." He replied with a sly and confident grin.
As if pouring water on himself, his armour melting and replacing itself with a broad white shirt and a similarly white pant. The short sleeves revealed the heavy and strong muscles that had been so far kept beneath his armour. This gave me a whole new sight of Mightion as he gave me a loving smile that made my heard flutter.
With just a thought, I replaced my usual clothes by a white sleeping dress and pulled the cover to smoothly slip beneath the sheets. The smoothness, the gentle and soft mattress, the lightness of it all was just divine. I had no doubt that this would be the most comfortable night I ever had.
And then Mightion joined me, lying close to me despite the width of the bed that could easily held another couple. I blushed hard when I first felt his arm reach for me to then pass behind my head, before pulling me closer to him.
"I- ah..." I whispered, nervous, anxious and not knowing what to do or say. Sleeping with him before had never been that intense, and just standing there was enough to completely destabilise me.
"How do you feel?" He whispered to me, making me blush ever harder.
"G-good, I guess. Just, didn't expect that." I stuttered a bit as I very slowly started to lean into him, trying to rest my head on his shoulder. He didn't moved, waiting for me to be comfortable as I finally, completely let myself rest on his large shoulder. I could feel the muscles beneath, the strength he had was right there, and I found myself loving this. He then pulled me closer slightly more, much to my embarrassement as I could see his face almost right next to mine.
"Comfortable?" My love replied.
"Yes." I shyly answered before giving a small warning. "Don't push it though."
"Never." He assured.
"You would have continued until I said stop?"
"Yes." He grinned.
"Jerk." I jokingly replied, leaning into him a bit more.
"For you only."
He followed by giving me a light kiss on the forehead, a very soft and kind thing that one probably wouldn't expect from someone as big and as intimidating as him. Yet toward me, I only never saw kindness and love from him.
"You're trying to mellow me into being more touchy, aren't you?" I asked with a smile on my lips.
"It will take some time and effort, but I know you will end up loving me." He replied with his absolute confidence again.
"I love you already." I confessed before kissing him on his lips, the two of us enjoying it for a few seconds as we lengthen it. My heart pumped blood faster and I could feel heat raging on my face, but as much as I enjoyed it, I also knew I wouldn't be able to go further. Not now. I broke the kiss, our lips reluctantly moving away from the other's. The look in his eyes told me that he wanted more, that he was ready to continue further.
Perhaps one day, I'll soon be ready.
"I only need you to be a bit patient. Sorry." I gave him a small smile.
"I can be patient. You told me once that it may take you decades before being ready for anything more... physical. Decades are nothing for dragons like us." He assured.
"That's true." I admitted, feeling comforted. "Good night."
"Good night, my love." Mightion wished me, placing another gentle kiss on my forehead.
How I managed to find such a wonderful man, I didn't really know. Things had been going so fast that I lost track a bit of what normality was. Not that my life has ever been normal, but I sometimes wish it had been. But if that meant losing Mightion, losing his love and attention, then I don't think it'd be worth it. I had been an important figure my whole life, more for what had been done to me and what I supposedly did, and then for what I actually did, but it truly felt different to be important to someone in a romantic way. And it was reciprocated, I felt love my Mightion and considered him important to me.
With his arms covering me, the delicateness of the bed and the loving I was in, I quickly started to relax. It's in this very comfortable position, with this feeling of serenity, love and of being in the perfect place, that I slowly drifted to sleep, listening to Mightion's breath and his slowly beating heart.
