Chapter 2

The Nocturnus Primus

The night had begun. All was silent until the undead thing smelled the sweet scent of mankind. It was a horrible decayed thing. It reeked of disease, and it's skin was a horrible shade of green.

It let out a horrible moaning sound, like a dying man, calling it's brethren with it. It went for the door, and began scratching and pulling at it.

[Daniel]

The scratching sounds at the door scared us. I saw cracks slowly form on the door. It seems the zombies also mine as slow as we do, though given the extended day length, I fear the night will not be over shortly. I place two planks in front of the door, so the undead cannot get to us.

John speaks. "I don't like this at all."

"I don't either. Let's dig in deeper so we can get some sleep, that sound is deafening."

We dig further into the hill, and set up the beds. We ran into some copper along the way. I am not complaining, but I have no idea what it is used for.

I can't stand the noise, so I speak, just to listen to something not horrible. "So, you play Minecraft much?'

John thinks and then nods. "I didn't play that often, I mostly watched videos about automatic farms. I haven't been to the end or even explored the nether much. I just built the things I had memorized."

I slowly nod. We mine the last few blocks and place the beds. "I haven't played since the official release. I beat the ender dragon, and that was it."

I turned to the entrance… There were cracks forming on the planks! The zombies can break blocks?! I quickly place a thick layer of cobblestone, and we head to the beds to try to get some sleep.

The sounds of the dead fade into the background as I fall asleep.

Like before, as I sleep, something slowly appears in my vision, a UI of some sorts.

So not only am I stuck in Minecraft, but also an RPG? Do I get a class?

Class selection:

Empath

Templar

Diplomat

Beastmaster

Necromancer

I definitely don't want to be a necromancer. Zombies stink, quite literally. I would like more in depth descriptions of the others though…

Class Descriptions

Beastmaster: Control and buff large quantities of animals.

Diplomat: Use an aura of safety and peace to forge alliances and protect your allies.

Templar: Manipulate fights and defend your allies using divine magic.

Empath: Use empathetic capabilities to uncover true intentions and manipulate emotions.

Interesting choices. I am not interested in living with animals, so beastmaster is out. Diplomat seems to be used for… diplomacy. I don't see much current use there, and maybe I am dumb for not thinking ahead. The Templar sounds good, and the Empath strikes me as a bit morally ambiguous, good intentions or not. Templars are like crusaders who defend temples right? Templar it is.
