Every inkling in the audience was completely speechless at what they were seeing. Some sort of creature, covered in ink from head to toe, wasn't splatted.
The human looked down, only to see one of the inkling's weapons dropped next to him, probably left there after they ran for cover to avoid the inkstrikes.
He crouched down to pick it up, and taking a good look at it, he noticed that it looked more like a water gun.
On the other hand, the moment Nary saw that the weapon that stranger had picked up was in fact hers, couldn't help but facepalm.
"Okay you, whatever you are, drop that splattershot and no one will be hurt!" ordered Whater aiming his weapon at the ink covered being.
The ancient one of course couldn't understand what Whater was saying, reason why he didn't pay any mind to him.
"Are you even listening to me!?" said Whater once again, now clearly annoyed, but the human still continued to ignore him.
"Drop that weapon or...!" Whater tried to complete his sentence, but seeing as the stranger continued to ignore him, the squid boy lost his composure and shot at the human with his own weapon, covering his body with even more ink.
This appeared to have caught the attention of the ancient one, since by the moment Whater finally stopped shooting at him, he gave Whater a clean shot right in his face using the splattershot without even turning to look at him, splatting him instantly.
The human was a little surprised that after the inkling boy literally blew up, a little ghost in the shape of... a squid? Went up into the air for a few meters before vanishing.
"What an odd way to die..." whispered the human to himself, turning to look at Whater's team.
"W-what do we do now!?" asked one of his teammates.
"Just keep shooting at him!" said the inkling that previously splatted Nayls.
The instant the rest of the Ink Spitters team started attacking, the ancient one quickly lunged at them while shooting with the splattershot, hitting a headshot on one of them, splatting him on the spot.
But before he could shoot the other two, the splattershot he was holding had run out of ink, the reason why he chose to use it as a thrown weapon, hitting another inkling and making him drop his weapon.
But the moment he was about to pick it up, a large bare foot covered in ink stopped him from doing so.
The inkling looked up to see the ancient one and couldn't do anything but give him a big dumb smile, only to be picked up by his shirt's collar.
"I'm sorry, but I'm gonna need this" said the suman picking the inkling's weapon up and tossing him aside effortlessly.
The other inkling took advantage of the human's distraction and threw a splat bomb at him.
But to everyone's surprise, it was caught midair.
"Return to sender" said the ancient one as he threw the splat bomb right back at her, leaving it right at her feet, to which she just looked at him in frustration.
"and that makes it two..." was the last thing she could say, only for the bomb next to her to blow up, but since it was from the same color as her, it didn't splat her right away, instead it made her fall off the platform into the water below her, dissolving her instantly.
"Hey you! Big guy!" was heard behind the ancient one, making him turn around, encountering the Squid Sisters, which were received with big cheers from everyone in the audience.
"Don't worry guys, we'll take care of this real quick" said Callie towards the audience.
"And you! Who do you think you are to invade the arena and attack everyone!?" continued the black tentacled idol, now focusing on the ancient one while pointing her finger at him, but of course, he didn't reply and just kept staring at the duo.
"They look a little different than the rest" he thought to himself without taking his eyes off of them.
"Hey, are you listening to us?" asked Callie putting her hands on her hips and leaning forward a little.
But again, the human didn't reply.
"Callie, why don't we just skip ahead and restrain him?" asked Marie while aiming her splat charger.
"Good idea. Now listen here... Whatever you are, why don't you just drop the weapon and give yourself in...? we're both in a good mood so we'll let the fact you ruined this battle slip" continued the purple Squid Sister making her cousin roll her eyes and sigh.
"So it's up to you... We'll do it the easy way, or we'll do it our way!" continued Callie, grabbing two custom splattershot Jr's from her back, both of them being black like Marie's splat charger, but having purple details instead.
Obviously, the ancient one didn't reply, instead, he leaned his head to one side, cracking his neck. And raising his arm, he gave them a classic taunt with his hand.
"Alright, you asked for this... If we're gonna do this, we'll just do it our way!" said Callie while both her and her cousin grinned, followed my Marie nodding towards the cabin where they stood before, making two big speakers come out of the side of it.
"Hold on to your tentacles!" exclaimed Callie.
"Because here we go!" followed Marie.
And the instant the Squid Sisters said their phrases, one of their most popular songs started playing out of the speakers, the song being: "Calamari Inkantation."
The ancient one seemed a bit confused about the song that could be heard all over the arena.
"I may not understand what they're saying... But it has a good rhythm, did those two sing in it?" he thought to himself while focusing back on the two inklings in front of him.
The three of them stared at each other, as if waiting for their opponent to make the first move, until they all jumped to opposite sides almost synchronized, shooting ink at each other.
Everyone was now looking at the battle that was unfolding right in front of their eyes,
Marie aimed right for the ancient one's chest, and pulling the trigger, a jet of green ink came out of her charger, also leaving a path of said ink, although the human dodged the shot moving his body to the side.
But he then saw something that both surprised and shocked him.
Marie made a slight jump forwards, and transformed into a small squid of the same color of her ink right in front of the human's eyes, before diving into the ink path her weapon had left, and with an impressive speed, swimming through it until she reached the ancient one, the human couldn't even make an idea of what just happened before Marie jumped right out of the ink path before returning to her humanoid form, now aiming at the ancient one's head with her weapon.
But as if everything turned into slow motion, Marie saw how the ancient one seemed to cover himself using his left arm, while aiming at her with his own weapon from below said arm, seeing herself to be forced to avoid the ancient one's shot, losing her opportunity, and starting to run away, avoiding the next burst of ink shots from him.
However, as he was shooting, several other shots of purple ink came his way, which forced him to stop shooting and avoid Callie's counterattack.
[Excavation zone]
[Vault]
[30 minutes after the ancient one and the Squid Sister's encounter]
A group of five elite octolings had entered the cave where the scientists had found the vault, these octolings being the same ones mentioned earlier.
Turning the flashlights attached to their octoshots on, they went deeper into the cave that the scientists had already dug up.
"Dang it, those stupid Inklings came in ahead of us" said one of them, looking at one of the excavators they had left inside.
"What if they're still here?" asked another.
"In that case we just splat 'em all and take everything they're carrying" said a purple tentacled octoling.
"No one will shoot anyone until I give you that order, private" said a red tentacled octoling, seemingly the leader of the group.
"Why not lieutenant? You know that's no fun!" argued the same purple tentacled girl.
"It's better to avoid conflict than cause it, we'll do the usual thing. Wait for the inklings to go away, take everything we can and then leave" replied the lieutenant while apparently getting a call from her goggles's intercom.
"Yeah right, just let the poor inklings take everything they want while we get nothing but breadcrumbs" whispered the purple tentacled private, only to receive a slap on the back of the head from the lieutenant.
"Oww!" complained the private while rubbing the back of her head.
"Lieutenant Otome reporting!" she said as she answered her intercom.
"Have you reached the designated spot?" someone asked through Otome's intercom.
"Yes, your majesty, but it seems the inklings arrived before we did" replied Otome.
"You idiots! Eliminate the inklings, take everything they're carrying and bring it back to me!" they ordered.
"B-but emperor Octavio, don't you think it would be better to-...?" Otome tried to argue but was interrupted by Octavio.
"Don't you dare question me lieutenant! You have your orders, and you better follow them unless you want me to degrade you back to private alright!?" threatened Octavio now somewhat annoyed.
"But... I-I... Yes sir..." accepted Otome reluctantly.
"You better not disappoint me this time..." ended Octavio, cutting their communication.
Otome for her part just stood in place completely silent, only to throw her weapon to the floor, followed by raising her fist up in the air and looking up.
"I SWEAR TO COD I HOPE SOMEONE SPLATS YOU, YOU CODDAMN TYRANT!" yelled Otome in rage, showing her fangs.
"Uhh... L-lieutenant?" asked one of her teammates.
"Let's just finish the mission and get the shell out of here..." replied Otome while picking up her weapon, visibly angry, and started to walk away.
"Hehe... I love it when she gets mad" Whispered the private towards another Octoling.
"Said anything, private...?" asked Otome, stopping in her tracks.
"N-nothing, sir! I mean ma'am" she replied as she stood firm, scared of the possibility that Otome had heard her. But letting out a sigh of relief when Otome went back to moving forward.
[Urchin Underpass]
[Turf War arena]
[30 minutes before the octolings' arrival to the cave]
The battle seemingly had dragged on for too long since the three combatants found themselves panting, as well as both the ancient one and the Squid Sisters having a few ink stains on their bodies.
"Does that thing... Never get tired...?" commented Callie, trying to catch her breath.
"Do those two never run out of ammo?" thought the ancient one trying to catch his breath as well, but not as much as the inklings he was fighting.
Moments later the ancient one aimed at the famous duo once again, the two getting ready to fight back in response, but instead of shooting a burst of ink, a little drop of ink was the only thing that came out of the ancient one's weapon, giving away the fact that he had ran out of ammo... Again.
"I hate these things..." he whispered to himself, while the two famous inklings grinned as they noticed, well, Marie smirked a little, while Callie had a truly perverse smile on her face, showing her fangs.
With a swift move the ancient one threw the now empty weapon towards Callie, which she dodged, but a second later they saw him run towards another two weapons nearby.
"It's now or never, Marie!" yelled Callie as she noticed, the both of them now chasing after the ancient one.
Once the human got close enough, he threw himself onto the ground and slid towards the two weapons easily, since the floor was covered in ink.
Once he reached them, he grabbed one on each hand, but as he turned around, he saw how Callie and Marie aimed at his face while each of them puts a foot on the human's chest, preventing him from standing up, he repeated the same action as them in response, aiming at both of the girls with his weapons.
You could feel the tension in the air at that moment, each of them waiting for the opponent to make their move.
"I'll admit it... you're better than we expected..." said Callie still catching her breath.
"You really made this difficult for us..." now added Marie, being in the same state as her cousin.
Of course, the human couldn't understand what they were saying, but despite this, he decided to finally reply to them for once.
"I don't know who you are, or what you want from me...But you won't turn me into your guinea pig..." he said while the Squid Sisters stood there shocked at hearing the creature speak, and in a dialect they've never heard.
"And I will make sure of that..." continued the human now sporting a somber grin that didn't inspire much trust on the duo, pulling both of the triggers on his weapons. But the cousins were both shocked and relieved when only a little squirt of ink came out of the two weapons, letting them know that they were empty.
"I really... really hate these things" complained the human, now the two cousins giving him the same somber grin he had easily.
"Bad move..." said Callie while pulling the trigger on her weapons, as well as Marie, but in the same fashion as the ancient one's weapons, these also squirted a little ink, showing that they were also empty.
"What!? Really!?" said Callie looking at both of her splattershots.
"Maybe it's because we haven't refilled in such a long time" said Marie in a much calmer tone than her cousin, turning to look at her.
The human couldn't let this opportunity pass, and grabbing both of inklings' legs that were on his chest, he took them off him, making both of them fall. Only to quickly stand up and run like hell away from them.
"Hey! Come back here you- aaarghh!" yelled Callie as she stood up, and quickly leaped at him, grabbing both of his legs, and making him fall down, but before he could turn around Marie had already put herself on top of him, trying to apply a neck lock, which he tried to force himself out of.
"Hold him tight Callie!" ordered Marie, still struggling with the human.
"Wh-what do you think I'm d-doing!? Replied Callie while the human tried to get away from her.
"Alright Drake... You only have one way out, as cheap as that trick may be" Thought the now named human to himself.
Drake took one of Marie's arms and licked it all the way up to her elbow. And truth is, it really was a cheap trick. But Callie and Marie never played fair and square either, they were two, and drake was just one, so why should he also play fair with them?
"Huuuhhh!" exclaimed Marie, grossed out but also... Blushing? Since the moment she felt Drake's warm tongue, a faint blush appeared on her face, not to mention that it also sent chills up her spine.
Taking advantage of Marie being distracted, Drake pushed her off of him, But Callie was still holding on tight to his legs without showing signs of stopping anytime soon. But a fleeting idea came to his head, and he had to get rid of Callie fast, before Marie tried to subdue him again, surely angrier this time.
Drake quickly took one of Callie's tentacles with both hands, and she looked up in response, and she was so shocked at what the ancient one was going to do, that her pupils almost turned into dots.
"I SAID GET OFF ME!" yelled drake in his head, followed by biting Callie's tentacle, a loud scream coming out of her in response, while she let go of Drake's legs and turned red in the face with anger.
Drake, now knowing that Callie had let go of him, dropped Callie's tentacle, and ran towards what appeared to be an exit.
Meanwhile, back to SquidFire.
The four friends were looking at what was going on not too far from Drake and the Squid Sisters.
"Do you guys think they need help?" asked Nary.
"It's the Squid Sisters, they don't need help" replied Levin with confidence, which quickly vanished after they all heard Callie's scream.
"Wow... Was that Callie?" asked Shara.
"I will save you, my love!" exclaimed Nayls out of nowhere with hearts in his eyes, taking his slasher and running towards the battlefield.
"Nayls...! That idiot!" yelled Shara, taking her roller and following after him.
Levin couldn't help but sigh, seeing that Nary and him eventually had to do the same.
"You go with them; I'll catch up to you once I find my splattershot!" said Nary while running towards the place where the Squid Sisters and the ancient one had left their weapons.
"Whatever..." said Levin before following after Shara and Nayls.
Back to Drake and the Squid Sisters.
What Drake thought was the exit turned out to be the end of the platform, and below it there was nothing but sea water.
"Fuck, just what I needed" commented Drake while looking at the large amounts of water in front of him.
"Looks like you ran out of road, you cheating pervert!" suddenly said a voice from behind him.
Drake turned around to see the two inklings in front of him, and not only that, but another four were approaching from afar.
"Just surrender, now we're both in a pretty bad mood thanks to 'someone,' so I'll just say it once..." said Marie still somewhat blushing, though she had a serious frown on her face.
"Give yourself in, or it's game over..." completed Callie, who looked even angrier than Marie, though she was also blushing, and a few tears coming out of the corner of her eyes.
"And this time, our weapons aren't empty..." continued Callie, shooting next to Drake's feet as a warning, making him take a step back.
Drake once again looked back towards the water below the platform, but from a human's perspective, that still was a way out.
So turning back to the two cousins, the taller creature gave them a smile, taking a step back.
"Wait, what are you doing!?" exclaimed Callie as she saw the ancient one getting closer to the edge of the platform.
"Hey watch your step!" warned Marie seeing as he wasn't stopping.
Once he reached the edge, Drake extended his arms to both sides, while looking at the two famous inklings run towards him in an attempt to stop him.
"Hey wait! Don't do it!" yelled Callie, desperate to reach the human.
"That's not the way out!" added Marie as they were both about to reach him, but it was too late.
Drake let himself fall still having a smile on his face, while Callie and Marie couldn't do anything but look as he was falling into the water, followed by a cloud of ink extending through the water.
Callie just sat on the floor while putting a hand on her forehead, reprimanding herself for not being able to stop him in time. Marie on the other hand, stood in place with her head hanging low and her eyes closed in sadness.
"Stupid, stupid... Was it really necessary!?" Yelled Callie in frustration while her cousin looked at where the human had fallen.
"Hmm?" murmured Marie the moment she saw something getting away from the cloud of ink, before said object getting clearer and clearer, and seeing that that 'something' was in fact Drake, who was swimming away from the Squid Sisters.
"Callie, look!" exclaimed Marie in disbelief, pointing to where Drake was.
"What is it now...?" asked Callie, unmotivated.
"Just look!" exclaimed Marie once again towards her cousin, who stood up and walked to where her cousin was, still unmotivated, followed by looking where Marie was pointing, and couldn't help but opening her eyes as wide as possible as she noticed what she was looking at.
"HE'S ALIVE...! Uh, I mean... He's alive!?" exclaimed a happy Callie, before feigning anger on that last part, to which Marie let out a giggle.
Callie saw where he was heading after following him with her eyes and let out a malicious grin.
"Marie let's go! I think I know where he's heading!" said Callie as she headed for the exit, followed by her cousin.
And on the way there, they saw the four SquidFire members going towards them.
"Callie my love! I have come to-...!" said Nayls kneeling down but couldn't finish his sentence as Callie just ran straight past him, leaving him in place like a statue.
"We're sorry guys, we'll have time for autographs later!" said Marie, running past the group as well.
"Well, now what?" asked Shara, pushing her petrified brother with her foot.
"We follow them of course!" exclaimed Nary raising her splattershot.
"Let's go then!" Levin joined in with a smile and saw that every inkling on the audience had the same idea, since they also started to leave.
Everyone headed to the nearest exit, except for Shara, who was dragging her brother however she could.
"G-guys, little help..." said Shara still dragging Nayls, to which the other two inklings went back.
"Guh!... So heavy" commented Levin as he helped Shara picking up her brother, while Nary picked up the petrified squid boy's weapon and went along with the group.
As Drake kept swimming, the ink on his body and hair gradually washed away, until they went back to their original state.
The moment he took his head out of the water to breathe, he saw that he was near another platform.
"I hope I lost those two" commented Drake while taking another deep breath and keep on swimming towards it.
"Callie are you sure it's over here?" asked Marie running next to her cousin.
"Sure enough, this time he won't get away; besides, we have him surrounded, and I also called a few guards to help us out" said Callie giving her cousin a confident smile, her response being a slight smile.
"Alright, we've arrived" announced Callie.
"Surely it won't be long until he's also here" said Marie looking everywhere.
The two famous squid girls just stood in place and waited, not knowing that a big group of inklings was nearing their current location.
Drake had finally reached the platform, he then looked up, followed by starting to climb it.
"Alright, first I get out of here, then search for the base where I was, and later I'll think of something" formulated Drake to himself as he reached the top.
The moment he did, he took some time to breathe as he straightened up, only to look the way he came from, raising both arms and flipping off into the distance, laughing a little as he did it.
"Celebrating a little early aren't you?" someone said behind Drake, the poor human being left petrified, while chills ran up his spine, despite not knowing what that meant, he could recognize that voice. He forced himself to turn around even if he was scared of doing so.
(A/N: Before reading this next part, please play 'Ink me up' to ambient the scene)
Drake not only saw the Squid Sisters, but also a giant group of inklings behind them, as well as SquidFire, and to his surprise, the Ink Spitters were also there.
After he saw this scene Drake couldn't do anything but hold his head and scream at the top of his lungs with his eyes closed shut, he screamed so loud that he was heard all throughout the city.
Callie and Marie aimed their weapons at Drake, every inkling behind them following up as they did.
"And that's not all" commented Marie while pointing behind Drake, and as he turned around, he saw several motorboats moving through the waters he had left earlier, carrying more inklings, these ones having some sort of armor on them.
"Okay, your options here are: Surrender, or... Surrender" said Callie with a victorious smile.
Seeing himself completely surrounded, Drake couldn't do anything but put his hands up, frowning in complete frustration.
"This can't get any worse..." and the moment Drake said that he deeply regretted it and covered his mouth with both hands.
And almost as if God himself was waiting for him to say that, Drake's blanket that he had wrapped around his waist fell off, revealing his 'weapon' to everyone.
(A/N: Record_ )
Every inkling, especially the girls, looked 'down' in sync.
Marie had passed out two seconds after seeing Drake's 'weapon.'
Callie was completely petrified, with her face burning red.
"God if you can hear me, just kill me already..." said Drake with a face completely devoid of emotion.
