R2 was stationed in the library, Charger and Fives in the lobby. Rex was shaking, Captain M walking the hall as normal. A library droid rolled in, and Rex hit his /R2 said both droids were present in the /Rex lined up his sight, blowing the head off the droid, but someone rolled out, dashing toward the holocron room with a set of keys. Rex fired again but once around the corner the changeling was in temple guard robes, Rex unsure which was /"Shit." He whispered, watching. It attacked, getting A on her guard and swinging at the assailant, the pod droid piecing together the library droid's body. Rex shot it, running down the hall, blaster up. Captain M was behind him, sabers lit, attacking the assailant, but the pod droid whizzed up and opened the door, grabbing the holocron. M chased it, slicing it in half, but the assailant dashed toward him, tossing a charge. Rex jumped on top of it, but shrapnel from a nearby table struck the Captain in the calf./p

M growled, breaking into a jog. Rex rolled his eyes and jogged after him, the assailant on the floor around the corner, two guards on him. He had a huge slash in his /The guard leaned into the wall again before standing back up. The other two guards ran over, one /"Thank you, Captain Rex. You and your men were integral in foiling this attempt to harm the temple. We will be sure to tell general Skywalker of your deeds."br /"Thank you, sir."br /The Master looked at Captain M, and walked /"You need medical attention." Rex said /"Yes. Now that the assailant is apprehended."br /Rex walked behind him agonizingly slow to the force healers. At the sight of him the Jedi stared and /When Anakin went to the force healers they greeted him by name and asked him his ailment. With the guard they brought him silently back. Rex followed, and the healer stopped /"Can you remain outside the room in the event someone is looking for us." Captain M /Rex nodded. "Of course, sir."br /He found himself surprised he hadn't banished him altogether. He waited almost an hour before someone /"General Skywalker?"br /Rex swallowed. Was the guard going to blame him for the injury?br /"Hey, Rex. Having a lot of fun with the guard, huh?"br /Rex opened his mouth to ask but the exam room door opened and Anakin swept through the door, taking the guards wrist in the Jedi greeting before it shut. Rex tapped his feet impatiently before the door opened and Anakin came out looking /"Walk with me."br /Rex fell in line behind him and they walked out into the /"Sir if I did something-"br /Anakin looked over and laughed. "No, on the contrary he was very impressed with you, as I knew he would be." He shook his head. "The guard is grueling, mentally and physically. He confided in me that he's doing fine, but not as fine as he'd like, and now that he's hurt-" Anakin cringed. "He's not feeling it right now. I'm butchering this Rex but, an injured guard is a guard placed on leave. Silence, meditation, silence… He wants you to stay."br /Rex's eyes widened. "He wants me to stay?"br /"He's on his own until he's good for duty so he'll need minor medical care. Otherwise he just wants… company. We'll be on shore leave while this Citadel crap gets investigated so I don't see why not."br /"Am I supposed to stay with him all the time?"br /"You can leave him. I told him this was your responsibility so it was up to you if you wanted to and for how long."br /Rex stared at Anakin. "Sir, permission to speak candidly."br /"Go nuts."br /"I don't know if I can take it. The man never speaks, never moves. I don't know his name or even how he eats. I can't do that for weeks."br /"You can say no."br /"But there's something about it. They're so secretive and spooky, and his ability to be so disciplined is fascinating."br /"Do it part time. Tell him you'll do 5 half days and two days off or something. Whatever you want."br /He sighed. "He couldn't have just gone on retreat?"br /Anakin /"You can't tell me his name or anything?"br /He shook his head. "He has no name, he's a guardian of the temple and the force. If I told you you might slip up and he would know."br /Rex nodded. that made /"Is he human?"br /Anakin nodded. "He's human. But that's between us too."br /Rex smirked. "I'll tell him I'll do half days until I can't take it anymore."br /Anakin smirked. "I'm just as intrigued as you are. You'll have to tell me how often he eats."br /Rex smirked, and Anakin handed him his datapad. "If you need an out let me know I can get you out."br /"10-4. Thank you sir."/p
