Chapter 2

It was night time when 18 returned to her apartment. She was hoping her brother wasn't home so she could relax alone for a little bit, but once she opened the door and heard loud music there was no doubt he was there too. Why was he home on a Saturday night? She has an excuse, she is exhausted.

18 scoped the area when she came in, 17 still hadn't done his chores.

"17! GET IN HERE AND DO THE DISHES!" She demanded.

The music stopped. Shortly after a raven-haired man rounded the corner. Anyone could tell that he was 18's twin, they looked very similar. The only differences were that he was a bit taller and had a more masculine physique.

"Sis...it's your turn you know." He lied.

"Do you really want to play this game?" She was not having any of this.

"..."

"That's what I thought." 18 said as she b-lined for the couch to rest her feet.

Defeated, 17 stepped in front of the sink and got ready for the monstrous task of cleaning what seemed like 1,000 dishes. At least he could still talk to his twin since the kitchen and living room were connected.

"So...how was your and 16's day, sis?" He said after reeling up his sleeves and started rinsing dirty plates.

"Pretty good. We got lunch, ran some errands-"

"Wrecked your car?" 17 teased.

"I didn't wreck it!" She got defensive. "I got a flat, that's a big difference."

"Yeah yeah, how did that go? Did you fix it?"

"Yes, we changed the tire out and it's fixed."

"That's good, it would suck having to share my car. But tell me 18, how did you manage to get a boyfriend this morning?"

"How did yo-"

"I called 16 at noon, told me you gave some guy your number. So tell me about him. I bet he is tall, skinny, covered in tats, and has an accent. Ooh, and he probably played some music you like while you were in the car with him."

17 really knew how to get under her skin. It's like that was the only real thing he was good at, but he had a point. That was an accurate description of her previous boyfriends and first dates.

"Actually no, he was nothing like that."

"Really? What was he like?"

"I guess he could have tattoos. He was wearing a sweater and pants, but he probably didn't have any. It was also hard to tell if he was skinny."

"Well damn sis, do you know anything about him?"

"Yes jackass, there is more to people than what they look like. I gave him my number because he was a nice and sweet guy."

17 was going to let that insult slide. This was normal banter between the two of them, besides, he kinda WAS egging her on. "That's it? Just cause he was 'sweet' ".

"Don't get me wrong, I thought he was cute too. Want me to give you a detailed description so you can draw him out."

"Yeah you might as well. I can't imagine him being any uglier than the last guy you dated."

"Oh! Do you want to settle this right now! I can boot up the-" *Ring Ring Ring* "Huh?" 18's phone put a halt to her sentence, the second time that has happened today. This time however, she did not recognize the number.

A little earlier...

"Ok Krillin, just call her. You need to." A short man was sitting on his couch, staring intensely at his phone.

He had gotten to his apartment an hour ago after saying goodbye to Goku and Bulma. Goku was staying at her house because of the many spare rooms. It's better than him sleeping on his couch.

They had a fun day, but in the back of Krillin's mind the entire time all he could think about was his inevitable phone call to 18.

"Oh wait, I need to take a shower. I forgot this morning, and I probably really smell after that workout with Goku."

Krillin headed for his bathroom to clean off all the grime his body accumulated over the day. While it was true he needed to wash his body, it was more importantly additional precious time he could buy before he had to call the woman he met this morning. He wanted to, really he did, it was just that he was worried what would happen.

He was in his own head.

If it turned out she was 18 years then Krillin would have to politely decline any further advancements. If 18 was just a nickname or something, then what? What if she was offended in some way? Then what would he do? He had no idea how to talk to women in a romantic sense. What if she isn't offended? Does he transition into asking her out on a date? HE DOESN'T KNOW! His head kept flooding with constant ideas of worst case scenario moments and it was making him sick. Krillin really needed to call her just to get it over with, the worst she could do was say no then block his number...right?

.

.

.

Now fully clean and in a new set of clothes, he was back at square one. Sitting on the couch, staring at his phone. He had the number memorized, it was only a matter of picking it up and dialing in the digits.

"This is ridiculous, I should just call her and get it over with. Remember what Bulma told you today Krillin. Women like a man who is forward!" He said to himself. "And if she is only that old...then I can just immediately hang up and pretend I never met her. Easy." That last part was a lie.

After that self pep talk, Krillin got the courage to pick up his smart device and punch in the number.

An incredible long pause later and he finally hit the call button

First ring...no answer

What if she doesn't pick up? I didn't think about that?

Second ring...no answer

Do I call again? If not, how long should I wait?

Third ring*Click* She picked up!

"Hello?" A cold voice said through the speaker. "Hello?"

Krillin was so struck that he almost forgot to speak. "Uh, Uh, Hi."

"Oh, is this Krillin?"

"Yeah, it is."

"So, a first night caller. You know most people wait a day."

"I, uh, well I'm not calling to ask you out on a date. Not that I don't want to, it's just that….Are you 18 years old?"

He heard laughter. Why was she laughing?

"Hahaha, man I totally should have said something about that. No, I'm not 18, it's just a nickname. I'm 28."

Oh thank Kami "How did you get a nickname like that?"

"I can tell you...on our first date."

That was smooth, he didn't expect this either. "Isn't the guy supposed to ask that?"

"Ok, then go ahead and ask me."

"18, uh, want to go on a date with me?"

"Nah."

"H-Hey, what do you mean no?"

"Just kidding, when and where."

She sounded so natural, Krillin wanted to analyze everything that was being said but did not have time. He just had to roll with the punches. "I was thinking about dinner. What kind of food do you like?"

"I like a lot of food, let me thi-...one second...SHUT THE HELL UP 17!...Sorry about that, does sushi sound good?"

"Yeah, I know a good sushi place actually." He ignored that one part of her answer.

"Ok send me the address before we go and I'll meet you there, you don't have to pick up or anything."

"Alright, how does Wednesday at 7 sound?"

"Let me think about my schedule...mmm, looks good...Wait a second, what about your brother? Shouldn't you be spending time with him?"

"He is going to be in town for two weeks. He told me not to feel guilty about going on a date while he is here."

"I see, well that's good. I wouldn't want to feel like I'm keeping you two from seeing each other. Alright Krillin, I look forward to our date. Bye."

"Bye!"

*Click*

She hung up.

Krillin's face slowly morphed into the biggest smile imaginable. He had a date.

He had a date with a beautiful, funny, and unique woman that gave him her number. That meant she saw something in him and not the other way around…

"THIS IS AWESOME! I GOTTA CALL GOKU!"

I debated on fusing this chapter and the first one but I think this is the right call even though this one is a little short.

I have a vague outline of the story from here on out so I hope I do it justice.

Rate and Review, I need to know where I can improve.

THANKS!
