Ok, ok. I know. It's been quite a long time, BUT I'm back. These past weeks, I had my finals so I was studying and didn't really have much time for writing. The first half of this chapter was written on the last week of May and now that school is over, I'm finishing it. Hope you enjoy!
"Who's that?"
"I don't know, mum."
"What about him?"
"I don't know, mum."
"Then maybe you know who's -"
"Mum! I don't know everyone in the wizarding world, ok?" I said with an exasperated sigh.
"Sorry, dear." My mum said.
We entered Flourish and Blotts. There was a long list of books required for this year of Hogwarts that needed to be taken care of.
Then I saw Hermione talking with Ron and some other people, who I guessed were the rest of the Weasleys.
"Hermione? Ron?" I said once I was close enough for them to hear me.
There were a lot of people in there. Outside of the shop, it said something about some man with a weird name I can't remember. Maybe that's why half the female population of the Wizarding world was in there.
"Y/N! How are you?." Hermione asked.
"Oh, I'm fine. What about you two?"
"We're fine. Mum, dad, everyone, this is Y/N. That friend of ours I told you about? From Hufflepuff?" Ron said to his rather big family.
"Oh, yes, I remember. Hello dear, nice to meet you! I'm Molly, Ron's mum. He's told me so much about you." Mrs. Weasley said, shaking my hand with both of hers.
"Nice to meet you too, Mrs. Weasley. Ron's told us a lot about how great his family is, and I'm happy to be able to see it in person." I said, putting up a smile and a smooth performance, although on the inside, I wanted to dig a hole and fall in it from embarrassment and awkwardness.
"And these are my parents, Y/N." Hermione said as both of her parents greeted me.
"It's nice to see Hermione has made so many great friends." Hermione's mother said.
"Now, it wouldn't be right not to introduce you to my parents." I said as my parents greeted my friends and expanded their hands for a handshake with the rest of the adults.
"I'm glad we are not the only non-wizards in here, Mr. Y/L/N." Mr. Granger told my father.
"Oh, please call me John. And I couldn't agree more, Mr. Granger."
"Well then, please call me William." Hermione's father said.
The adults started talking, and Mr. Weasley seemed very excited to talk to mine and Hermione's parents.
"My father is fascinated by muggles and all their contraptions and inventions. Look at him, he's so excited." Ron said.
Yeah, there was a glint in his eyes. He seemed like a small child learning for the first time how rainbows worked.
After a couple of minutes, Hermione spotted Harry outside and fetched him in.
Mrs. Weasly was so glad Harry was alright. Ron told us that they were supposed to arrive together, but Harry was somehow lost in the floo. Not that I knew what floo meant but anyway. I would ask Ernie at Hogwarts. I wonder how he did not end up in Ravenclaw.
That man, Gilderoy Lockhart, as I heard, appeared and everyone started clapping.
"Mum fancies him." Ron said, and I giggled as Mrs Weasley lightly slapped him in the arm and continued clapping.
A weird man with a hat and a camera, pushed through the crowd and started taking photos of Lockhart saying he was from the Daily Prophet. Then Lockhart stopped posing and smiling.
"It can't be. Harry Potter?" he said slowly.
"Harry Potter." the man with the camera thingy said as he literally snatched Harry from his robe and pushed him towards Lockhart.
"Nice, big smile Harry. Together you and I rate the front page. Ladies and gentlemen, what an extraordinary moment this is. When young Harry stepped into Flourish and Blotts this morning to purchase my autobiography , Magical Me-"
Everyone, which meant dozens of witches, started clapping again, smiling. Even Hermione clapped with a sickeningly sweet and dreamy smile. What was going on? I looked at Ron, and he had a kind of disgusted face, seeing how all the other women looked at Lockhart.
"-which, incidentally, is currently celebrating its 27th week atop the Daily Prophet bestseller list. He had no idea that he would, in fact, be leaving, with my entire collected works free of charge." he said, once again smiling at the camera.
Harry left as fast as he could from there. Mrs. Weasley told him to give her the books to get them signed, and he happily handed them over. We were on our way outside when we heard a voice.
"I bet you loved that, didn't you, Potter? Famous Harry Potter. Can't even go to a bookshop without making the front page." Malfoy spat out.
Seriously? Why him? Our new school year hadn't even started, and we just had to bump into him of all people.
"Leave him alone." Ron's sister, Ginny, I think, said.
"Oh, look Potter. You've got yourself a girlfriend."
Then a cane hit Malfoy's back, shoving him aside.
"Now, now Draco, play nicely. Mr. Potter. Lucius Malfoy. We meet at last."
Oh, great. As if we didn't have enough Malfoys already. But this one, he didn't just seem annoying like his son. He seemed dangerous... I didn't have a good feeling about him.
He extended his hand for a handshake.
"Forgive me." he said as he pulled Harry closer and parted his hair with his cane.
"Your scar is legend. As, of course is the wizard who gave it to you." he said, smiling.
Yeah, I really don't like him. I could feel my heartbeat getting faster. I was a bit afraid of him. I was afraid he was a crazy man and that he would do something to Harry.
"Voldemort killed my parents." Harry said, and Mr. Malfoy's smile slowly disappeared.
"He was nothing more than a murderer." Harry continued as he pulled back and escaped from Mr. Malfoy's grasp.
"You must be very brave to mention his name. Or, very foolish." He said with a sly smile.
"Fear of a name only increases fear of the thing itself." Hermione said.
"And you must be, Miss Granger. Yes, Draco's me all about you. And your parents. Muggles, aren't they?" he told her.
"And, who might you be?" he said turning to me.
"She's Potter's pet, from Hufflepuff." Malfoy said. Last year, Malfoy hadn't said anything to me, and I just figured that he didn't care or he hadn't noticed me. But it seems like he did... lucky me.
I'm sorry, pet? Seriously? Excuse me, I'm nobody's pet.
"Hm, Hufflepuff. Of course, I should have known. The fact that you are shaking in your shoes should have gave it away from the start." he said, raising his head in a way like he was saying, 'you're not even worth to look at'.
"Let me see. Red hair, vacant expressions, tatty, secondhand book." he said, now attacking the Weasleys. I finally dropped my head. I was looking at him, straight in the eyes, even when he was talking to me but now, my eyes started to sting a bit and I didn't want to give him the satisfaction of being right.
"You must be the Weasleys." he said.
"Children, it's mad in here. Let's go outside."
Mr. Weasley said and I think I never was that glad to see an adult I barely know, again in my life.
"Well, well, well. Weasley senior."
"Lucius."
"Busy time in the Ministry. All those extra raids. I do hope they are paying you overtime, but judging by the state of this, I'd say not." he said turning the book he took from Ginny in his hand.
"What's the use of being a disgrace to the name of a wizard, if they don't even pay you well for it?" He continued.
"We have a very different idea about what disgraces the name of wizard, Malfoy." Mr. Weasley confidently answered.
"Clearly... Associating with Muggles. " Mr. Malfoy said in a hushed voice as if he was disappointed.
He got closer to Mr. Weasley. "And I thought your family could sink no lower."
Mr. Weasley just smiled.
"I'll see you at work." Mr. Malfoy said before leaving.
As if copying his father's ways, Malfoy junior stopped in front of Harry and said "See you at school." before leaving.

Our first lesson of the year was Herbology with Professor Sprout, and we learned how to re-pot a Mandrake; very useful if you've been petrified but apparently fatal. Although weird, I must say that so far, Potions and Herbology are turning out to be my favorite subjects. Maybe because they somewhat resemble muggle subjects. At least compared to Charms or Transfiguration, for example.
We were having breakfast when an owl flew in and landed in front of Ron. Many students, mainly from the Slytherin table, laughed at the poor bird's bad landing.
"Look, everyone. Weasley's got himself a Howler." Seamus said, causing everyone to laugh again.
Next thing I knew I was listening to who I presume was Mrs. Weasley yell at Ron about stealing his father's car. Yeah, Harry had told me about that... They are lucky they're alive.
Then the Howler turned to Ginny and Mrs. Weasley congratulated her for getting put in Gryffindor. She said that she makes both her and Mr Weasley proud...
Is it really that much of an honor to be put in Gryffindor? I know Gryffindors are brave and good and always the hero of the story but... what about all the other houses? Aren't we important too? I guess it depends on the family. I'm sure that the Malfoys for example think it an honor to be put in Slytherin. And there must be families that think the same thing about being put in Ravenclaw.
But what about Hufflepuff? Are there families that are proud of being Hufflepuffs?
I promise, the next chapter won't be that late.
