TRIGGER WARNINGS- THIS FIC WILL INCLUDE ABUSE, DEPRESSION, MURDER, DRUGS, ALCOHOL, AND SIMILAR THEMES. PLEASE BE WARY WHEN READING
Hey guys, I'm back! Another chapter because I felt bad that I ditched the story for so long. I promise I'm working on another fic which I hope should make up for it, it'll be a slow burn but I don't know how long it'll take, so don't hold your breath.
This one should be pretty angsty, maybe a mild mental breakdown. I don't really know yet. But there's definitely going to be at least some angst, or I'm a Flobberworm (high five if you got that reference).
For the tower, just imagine the tower from Fall, or you can just Google what it looked like if you haven't watched the movie.
Please drop a review, hope you enjoy, I love you all so much, and stay safe besties!
TRIGGER WARNING FOR PANIC ATTACK, MENTALBREAKDOWN, MURDER, ABUSE, FLASHBACKS
Leo stormed across the field, tears pouring down his face. He hadn't wanted to remember that. By remembering one part of that day, he knew he would remember it all, and he had. He didn't know where he was going- he just had to get out of there. He broke into a sprint, finding comfort in the running. He looked around desperately as he ran, looking for somewhere to go. His eyes fell on the tower in front of him, and he suddenly knew.
Judging by the looks of it, it was about 2000 feet high. Perfect. There was a very low chance that the rest of the group would go up there, and even if they did, it would at least take them a while.
He arrived at the base of the tower within minutes. He took a second to look up at the tower. It didn't seem very structurally sound, but to be honest, Leo could not care less at that moment in time.
He put his foot on the first rung, and jumped to make sure that it would hold his weight. It did, and he wiped away his tears, took a deep breath, and began to climb.
"Leo? Where are you?" Hazel called.
Piper, Percy and Annabeth echoed her calls. Jason settled for simply scanning the grounds of the castle, as did Frank. They searched the grounds for figures, places he could hide- everything.
"Is that him?" Hazel gasped, pointing upwards. She looked horrified.
Jason followed her finger, until he too felt horrified- and also slightly nauseous.
At the top of the 2000 foot tower in the middle of the grounds was a small figure curled into a tight ball.
"Oh gods," Percy said. "How did he get up there?"
"The ladder," Annabeth said. "It doesn't seem very safe, but he must have figured out a way to do it without falling."
"Who cares how he got up there, how are we going to get him down?" Hazel cried. She sounded very distressed.
"I can fly up there," Jason suggested. "He might not like it, and it'll probably take a while, but I think I could get up there."
Everyone exchanged glances, debating whether or not Jason should take that risk. Finally, Piper stared him directly in the eyes.
"Do it."
~meanwhile~
Leo climbed at a rapid pace up the ladder, swiping the tears away every time they blurred his vision too much. It didn't take him too long to reach the top, and he hauled himself onto the small platform. He lay on his back for a few seconds, just sobbing his heart out.
He didn't want to remember, in fact he had been desperate not to, suppressing the memories for so long.
But now they were all here, resurfacing, hitting him like a wave. Drowning him, cutting of his air supply.
START OF PANIC ATTACK, MENTAL BREAKDOWN, FLASHBACKS, ABUSE, MURDER
He sat up, and scrambled back until his back hit the giant metal pole in the middle of the tiny platform, where he curled up into a ball and started sobbing as he remembered that terrible day.
Miss Teresa punching him until his vision was blurred, Cayden trying to help him-
Leo pulled himself out of the memories with an agonised sob. He could feel his heart racing, and it felt like his foster brother's blood was still on his hands, spread across his face, drenching his clothing.
Leo sobbed again, holding his head in his hands. He let out a pained scream, safe in the knowledge that nobody could hear him from where he was.
Cayden pulling Miss Teresa off him, the shocked expression on his face when the knife buried itself into his chest-
His sobs increased, the tears pouring down his face coming more often as he struggled to breathe. "Lo siento, lo siento," he heard himself sob. (Translation: I'm sorry, I'm sorry).
Hitting Miss Teresa over the head with the chair, sobbing as he held Cayden's body, his blood soaking everything, running away to the police station before Miss Teresa could wake up -
He felt himself slipping into the all too familiar clutches of a panic attack, and dug his nails into his arms in an attempt to ground himself with the pain.
Blood welled up, but Leo was thankful that it wasn't Cayden's. He kept sobbing as he remembered more and more from his worst foster home ever.
END OF FLASHBACKS, ABUSE, MURDER, PANIC ATTACK, MENTAL BREAKDOWN
Suddenly, someone was holding his arms, preventing him from digging his nails into his skin, holding him firmly and comfortingly. He glanced up briefly, and saw a flash of blue behind imperial gold. Jason. Leo struggled for a few seconds, before giving in and letting Jason hold him, his sobs lessening ever so slightly.
The last thing he felt before he passed out was Jason lifting him up and starting to fly them down.
