Confrontations-Chapter Four
"Wait, hold up. The general's coming here? To Romania?" Vinnie asked, the next morning.
"That's what she told me last night." Throttle replied.
He and his bros were already up. They along with Charley were outside in the parking lot of the chocolate shop. Charley had just finished making some adjustments on their bikes. She had brought her toolkit with her.
"I'm glad turning into a werewolf didn't diminish my mechanic abilities." She said, "I did some logistics on your weapons systems as well as cleaned the crankcase on Vinnie's bike."
"Aw, Sweetheart. You didn't have to do that." Vinnie told her.
"Actually, I did. Your crankcase totally reeked." She said, holding her nose.
"Innocence. Can I help it if this mouse never runs out of gas?" He bragged.
"Yeah. Whatever."
"'Morning, guys."
Everyone looked up to see Vivica walk outside where they were hanging out. Her red hair was now tied up with a blue bandanna and she wore a matching blue apron. She now walked up to them holding a small plate.
"What'cha got on the plate, Sweetheart?" Vinnie asked, eying the chocolates shaped like seashells.
"Belgian chocolates. I just molded them this morning to sell in Aunt Agatha's shop. Try some." She replied.
"Thanks." Vinnie said, taking one.
She offered the plate to Charley, Modo, and Throttle who each took one.
"Wow! These are good!" Charley exclaimed.
"Delicious." Modo mouthed, happily munching.
"I know. I used mango and blood oranges for the fillings." Vivica exclaimed, excitedly.
"Blood?" Vinnie exclaimed, looking shocked, with a mouth full of chocolate.
"Relax, genius. It's not real blood in the oranges. They're just given that name because of their red color." Charley explained.
The white mouse looked relieved.
"Have some more." Vivica said, handing them the plate while taking one chocolate herself and throwing it into her mouth.
"You should tell Aunt Aggie about them." Charley said.
"I already did. She sampled them, too. She's going to sell them in the shop." The redhead mouthed.
Vivica now approached Throttle. The back of her hand lightly brushed his as she handed over the plate. He glanced at her. A mischievous twinkle flashed in her eyes.
"Like them?" She asked, using her eyes to point at her breasts.
"Yeah." he breathed, then his face flushed as he realized what he just said.
"Uh, can I see you for a second?" He asked.
"Sure."
"I'll just be a minute." He told the two mice and Charley who watched them a little surprised as they walked behind the building.
Vivica removed her apron. Her red hair blended in well with the black motorcycle riding outfit she wore. It showed off the young woman's curvy figure and they hugged her in all the right places. The tan furred mouse fought to keep his mind on what he had to say.
"Look, about what happened last night...I'm sorry... It was a huge mistake." He began, looking away.
"How can you say that? Oh, Throttle, our souls connected in a way that I've never been able to do with anyone in the pack. It was cosmic! How can you call what we shared a mistake?" She asked.
"I have a girlfriend." He replied, turning to her," What I did was wrong on so many levels. Vivica, you're a great girl and any guy would be more than lucky to have you as their girl."
"You should've told me you had someone before you sowed your wild oats with me." She said, miffed.
"You're right. I really messed up."
"So do you miss her?"
"A lot. You remind me so much of her. You have her feisty personality as well as her spirited nature. Maybe that was why..."
"Why you decided to jump my bones? Was that what you were going to say?"
"You make me sound like some kind of pervert! I feel bad enough about this as it is."
"You ought to be. I really did like you, Throttle."
"I like you, too, Vivica."
"I talked to my mom last night about leaving Romania with you guys."
"You always switch gears like this?"
"Just shut up and listen. I spoke to my mom this morning about leaving Romania. She refused to go. She told me the chocolate shop is her life as well as Romania is her home."
"'Afraid there's nothing I can do to change her mind."
"You have to make her go as well as take Charley with you. That Lawrence Limburger guy is still here in Romania."
"I told you before you don't have anything to worry about. My bros and I will keep you all safe."
"Ugh! What is that? It smells like that silver paint you guys used." She asked, feeling like she was going to faint."
"Sorry. I forgot to tell you we painted the back of the shop, too. " He apologized as he,handed her a gas mask.
Within minutes, she felt better.
"C'mon, we'd better join the others." Throttle said.
...
Meanwhile, Lawrence Limburger was riding around in his limo. Fred the Mutant was driving. The obese Plutarkian sat back in the back seat and he had just hit the button on the vidcom. The long narrow face of Dr. Carbunkle showed up on the screen.
"Carbunkle, is Operation Mousetrap ready?" He asked.
"As ready as it ever will be, Your Cheddar Cheesiest. According to the leader of the wolf pack, those wretched, motorcycling moles have silver at their hideout. If we remove the silver, the wolves will be able to rip them to shreds." Carbunkle said.
"Excellent. But we need a way to get the silver that they speak of. The leader of those motorcycle-riding hamsters, the tan furred mouse with the sunglasses, wears a dangling, silver earring. The wolves are afraid of it. They have some kind of fear of it."
"Mainly, because they are werewolves, Your Over Rotundness. In some Earth legends, werewolves were killed with silver bullets."
"I think it's superstitious nonsense! But if removing the thing that they fear will will get us the Biker Mice From Mars obliterated, I'm all for superstitions!
"I've located the chocolate shop where those Biker Mice and their human companion are holed up in. My element detectors have detected silver paint on the front of the building as well as the back. But not to worry, this paint remover I've just invented is designed to remove all paint containing silver." Carbunkle cacked, holding up something that resembled a small vacuum cleaner with a long nozzle and hose.
"Do it at once and don't fail me." Limburger said, pressing a button as Carbunkle disappeared from the vidcom screen.
"This time I'll rid myself of those Biker Mice once and for all!" Limburger cackled.
...
"Sweetheart, where you off to?" Vinnie asked, on seeing Vivica carrying several white packages.
She was tying the packages onto the back of her motorscooter.
"Just going to make some morning deliveries. Several restaurants ordered these handmade chocolates Aunt Agatha made a few days ago so I'm going to make sure they get them on time." She replied.
"Is that such a good idea, Miss Vivica Ma'am? After the way those wolves tried to attack us last night, it ain't a good idea for you or your mama to be running around by yourselves." Modo said.
"Modo's right. Daniel and those wolves could try to cause more trouble for you." Charley told her.
"Aunt Agatha needs the money. I won't let her lose her shop because of the pack. Besides, I'm not afraid of them." She replied.
"Still, I think it would be a good idea if one of us went with you." Throttle said.
"Who'd you have in particular?" She asked.
"I could go." Charley replied, then seeing the looks on the faces of the mice, "I'll be fine, guys."
"We have to go see about Miss General Ma'am anyway. She's due to arrive in Romania today." Modo said.
"Who?" Vivica asked.
"Carbine. She's my girl." Throttle explained.
"I see." Vivica said, in a low voice.
"Where in Romania is she due to arrive?" Charley asked.
"Carbine sent the coordinates to the vidcom on my bike." He replied, printing them out from his bike.
He read them off.
"According to this, it's at some ancient temple not far from here." He said.
Vivica took one look at the paper and her face paled.
"That temple is where some of the pack sometimes hang out. Your girlie could be in some serious trouble." She said.
"Not if this mouse can help it." Throttle said, hopping on his bike.
He then put his helmet on his head. Vinnie and Modo did the same.
"Watch yer backs, guys!" Charley cried out.
"Look after yourselves!" Throttle called back to them.
"Now, let's rock and ride!" The three mice cried out, as they headed towards the temple.
...
A large Plutarkian cruiser landed a few feet from the temple. General Carbine stepped out from a side door.
"So this is Planet Earth, Budapest, Romania. It's even more exciting than the pictures I saw in the computerized books on Mars." She breathed, glancing around at the white washed buildings as well as the old textured temple.
Not far from where she stood was a large water fountain. White jets of water shot into the air.
The raven haired Martian Mouse glanced around admiringly. Her long hair blew in the wind. Sunlight shone into her light brown eyes. She began entering the temple. Everywhere she looked giant stone and metal statues stood on either side of her.
"This place sure is quiet and dark." She thought, then smiled, "Good thing I brought a light."
A tiny squirrel bat flew before her and turned to her as it squatted on its haunches. Carbine opened a small pouch and took out a Pinkseed. She fed it to the tiny creature. Within minutes, its eyes lit up. It happily squeaked and flew forward. Its eyes lit the way as she followed it.
Unbeknownst to the general, she was being watched. Members of Daniel's wolf pack including Rayford were there. They sat on the balcony of the temple and watched Carbine walking through.
"Strange looking creature. It looks like a mouse." One of them said.
"It resembles one of those mouse creatures that Rayford fought with last night. Don't you think so, Ray?"
"Maybe." He frowned, "I vow to take my revenge on that mouse for taking my intended mate from me."
"Now's your chance. We can hold this one for ransom."
Rayford put his hands to his mouth and howled. The squirrel bat stopped flying and paused. Carbine also stopped walked and quickly looked around.
"What was that?" She wondered.
She took out her blaster. The situation got intense. The squirrel bat shivered and alighted on her shoulder. It still flapped its wings and lit up its eyes. Then Carbine saw them. Three or four large wolves dropped down from the balcony and surrounded her.
Carbine's eyes looked around from left to right. The snarling wolves barred their teeth and began to approach her.
"D-Don't come any closer! I'll shoot I swear!" She shouted, aiming the blaster at the wolves.
One of the wolves approached and leaped through the air. She aimed the blaster and tried to pull the trigger. But the gun jammed.
"Oh, don't do this to me today!" She wailed.
The wolf had her pinned to the ground. She struggled to get up but couldn't. One of the wolves transformed before her eyes into Rayford.
"You've got spirit, girl." He told her as he stood over her.
Within minutes, she elbowed him in the jaw getting him off of her. She got up and into a fighting stance.
"You have no idea." She said, "Bring it!"
