Reflecting-Chapter Seven
The tan furred mouse continued to lean his head against the wall feeling the coolness of it. The wall was solid yet it had a hollowness that matched the emptiness he now felt inside. He then began banging his head against it.
"Oh, man, oh man, oh, man...I really messed up." He murmured.
"No kidding."
He stopped and turned around. Vivica was standing there behind him arms folded. She now unfolded them.
"I take it mentioning our affair didn't end well."
"That's putting it mildly." Throttle replied.
"Oh, well. At least now we can be together like it was meant to be. You've decided to move on to bigger and better things."
"Wha-? What are you talking about?" He stared back at her in shock.
Vivica now sauntered up to him. A bright smile on her face.
"Us. You and me."
"There is no you and me."
"Of course there is. That night we spent together said it all."
"Look, that whole night was a mistake. I'm sorry if I led you on to think otherwise."
"Throttle, how can you say that? After everything we shared?" She asked him, staring at him incredulously.
"I love Carbine. We're happy together."
"If things were so happy between you two then what were you doing with me? Face it, Throttle. You know you want me. I can make you real happy in and out of bed." She purred.
She then began cuddling her body into Throttle's chest. The tan furred leader caught a whiff of her perfume. It was a combination of roses mingled with wild ivy and some other scent he couldn't recognize.
Throttle also caught a glimpse of some very revealing cleavage. She had unzipped her shirt. Then she grabbed his head and pressed his face between her breasts. He began noticing how soft they were.
"Even softer than Carbine's" He murmured to himself.
The woman was super hot. Vivica was the kind of woman that could stir up a man's blood and drive him wild. A manly Martian Mouse was no exception. Without realizing it, he began kissing her breasts. Vivica moaned in delight. Then it dawned on him what he was doing and he stopped.
He stiffened up and pushed her away from him.
"No, Vivica." He said.
He looked away from her. Trying with all his might to resist temptation.
"Why do you keep fighting it? We belong together." She countered.
"No, we don't."
"You can't tell me you still want her after she dumped you? She takes advantage of you."
"You don't know her."
"No. But I know someone who's dissatisfied when I see him. Especially someone who bends over backwards for a girlfriend who doesn't appreciate him."
"Like I said, you don't know her."
"Throttle, please..." Vivica begged, grabbing onto his arm as he turned to walk away.
He didn't want to be rude but he had to get away. He pulled her hand away and walked off.
Then Throttle heard her whisper something. His super sensitive mouse ears picked up something that made him shiver.
"I love you..." She quietly murmured, watching him go.
...
"Those three bikers will pay for what they did to me!" Daniel screamed.
The werewolf leader was groaned as he touched his bandaged face. His nose was still broken and he held an icepack over it. Rayford and several members of the wolf pack got him to walk into a wooded area. It was pitch black. They stopped before a ragged hut.
"Are you sure about this, Rayford?" Daniel asked.
"This is the domain of one of our oldest healers. Some even say she's a witch."
An old werewolf woman with shriveled and wrinkled skin now approached them.
"Greetings, Dame Hecuba. We have brought our master for you to heal him." The wolves told her.
"My lord. Come inside my humble abode and have no fear." The old woman replied, bowing.
The inside was clean and neat. There was a small bookcase in which were several books. There was a mortar and pestle on the table along with empty glass vials. On a shelf there were potted plants. In a corner stood a small cot covered with a quilt.
Daniel was then laid up on a the cot. Hecuba examined the wounds to his face.
"Well? Out with it, old woman!" Daniel cried out, impatiently after she glanced at his face.
"Your nose is broken and there are other wounds. It appears you've gotten into a terrible fight which resulted in these injuries." She finally said.
"Never mind that. Can you fix it?"
"I have a healing salve that can." She replied, opening a cabinet and taking out a small metal tin of something that looked like brown hair grease.
"Rub this over your face." She told him.
He did what she said. Magically, his face turned back to normal. The busted nose was gone and his face was restored.
"It worked!"
"My lord, you're handsome again." Rayford said.
"Yes."
Daniel directed his wolves who handed a small pouch to him. He then handed it to Hecuba. The old woman's beady eyes dazzled and shone at the sight of the gold coins.
"And now, old witch, I have another favor to ask of you."
"Name it." She replied, looking up.
"Create a love potion. One that will make the woman of my choice, my mate, fall for me."
"In order for the potion to be effective, I need one key ingredient." Hecuba explained, "A single hair from the woman."
"You shall have it, old witch."
...
Carbine sat at a table in the chocolate shop. In front of her was a cup of coffee. But the dark haired general wasn't even sipping it. She was lost in thought.
"Penny for your thoughts."
She looked up to see Charley carrying a cup of coffee and sitting down next to her.
"I came here on Earth to Romania to see Throttle. Maybe recapture the life we used to have before the Fish Faces came. And what do I get instead? Him cheating on me with some painted up floozy." She replied, staring angrily at her coffee.
"Well, first of all, that floozy just happens to be my cousin."
Carbine was about to apologize when Charley stopped her by putting up her hand.
"I'm not condoning what she's done. It was wrong. And I'm sure Throttle feels bad about his part in it, too."
"Hmmph. Being sorry doesn't erase what he's done." The dark haired lady mouse grumbled.
"I know."
"I guess...I'm to blame." She began by looking down at her coffee, " I was so focused on saving Mars that I didn't think about our relationship. He kept asking me out on dates before and I kept putting him off. I'm a general. A member of the Martian Military. I lead a large group of freedom fighters. We save people every day. And I can't even save my own relationship." She said, with finality.
"Don't give up just yet."
"Why?"
"Because anything worth fighting for is important."
"Even after what he did to me?"
"Do you still love him?"
"Of course."
"Does he love you?"
"He told me he did. But actions speak louder than words. I don't know if I can ever forgive him for cheating on me."
"What he did was wrong. That's true, but, if there's still a reason you can think of why you two should stay together, why you should stay together, you can get past all this and work on the relationship."
"And if we can't?"
"Then...maybe it's time for both of you to move on in your lives." Charley replied, getting up, "Now, If you'll excuse me, I've got to go do a tune-up on my bike."
"I'll think about what you said." Carbine replied, "And, Charley, thanks."
"What are friends for?" She replied, with a smile before walking out.
...
Charley was walking out of the shop to her bike. She had just knelt down with her toolbox when suddenly something white quickly cover up her nose and mouth. It pressed against her face. She inhaled something that smelled like choloform. She felt her eyes closing quickly. She opened her mouth to scream but nothing would come out. Instead, her mouth closed as she felt herself drift off into unconsciousness. Then her body went limp.
