AN: Okay, so this one might be a little shorter, but I wasn't going to overload it with the content we have in this latest little episode of...SLVR Chibi!
[audience applause]
Yeah, we're back again, and this time around, we've got a special chapter for you all. This would be the start of what I'm hoping to make a repeat of with every five chapters, give or take. This is the first ever...MUSICAL OF SLVR CHIBI!
Sora: YES! Finally! Something we all know to expect from anything tied to Disney! So, what's my number?
AN: Oh, yeah, uh...[looking sheepish] Hehe, the thing there is...well...Okay, there's no way to beat around the bush on this. You're not actually singing in this one, Sora.
Sora: What?! Why not?
AN: Didn't you already get more than your fill of singing during your second journey in Atlantica?
Sora: Doesn't mean I don't want to sing ever again! Come on!
AN: Sorry, dude. It's already written out. Maybe in the next Musical chapter. Besides, at least you have a song in it.
Sora: How can I have a song but not be singing?
AN: You'll find out in just a moment.
Ruby: I hope these are some good ones!
AN: Don't worry, Ruby. They are. At least, I'd like to think so.

Chapter 5: Beacon School Musical
Sora
It was just another day at Beacon and a very nice day too. The sun was shining, the sky was clear, birds were singing, and it all seemed like the perfect day to be out and about having fun outside and doing something funny. Too bad some people seemed to disagree, but they had very good reason, and they were not the villains. Lea, Roxas, and Ventus were all very concerned about their team leader, who was currently just sitting around in one of the student lounges. You know, that one room that's adjacent to the kitchen and everyone always seems to be hanging out in when they are not in the classroom, outside, in town, or in their dorm? Yeah, that is where Team SLVR was right now. Or more accurately, it is where Sora was currently brooding with a dark aura around him while his friends looked on with worry.
"Yep, he's definitely in one of his moods again," Roxas confirmed.
"Think this is related to the whole Kairi incident, or could it be something else?" Lea asked the two blondes.
"Does it really matter at this point?" Ventus questioned in reply. He then waved over to Sora and said, "Look at him! If we don't do something soon, he's probably gonna go full Rage Mode, and that is NOT something that should happen in a comedy spin-off!"
"Right. Well, there's only one thing to do," Lea determined.
"Way ahead of you, Axel," Roxas stated, turning to leave the room.
When he noticed this, Lea was quickly confused. "Uh Roxas? Where are you going?"
"Where else? I'm going to get Ruby," Roxas replied.
"Why would you go get Ruby?"
"Because she's the only who's able to get Sora back to normal when he has his moments," Roxas reminded him.
"Are you saying that some little girl we've barely known for a few months is the better option of helping our bud out than we are?" Lea demanded, sounding like he had been offended.
"Hey, the track records speak for themselves, Lea," Ventus reminded him.
"Not this time, they don't," Lea insisted, grinning widely. "We're some of Sora's best buds. We don't need no stinkin' Ruby. We can cheer him up all on our own!"
"I've got a bad feeling about this," Ventus muttered as he watched Lea march over to Sora, ready to make his point.
"I always have a bad feeling about anything Axel does. Especially when he gets that smile on his face," Roxas admitted, trying to stealthily head to the door so he could carry on with getting Ruby. The sudden wall of fire barring his path showed he had not been stealthy enough, so he had to resign himself to their impending fate.
Despite the rising feeling of approaching danger, Lea still sat himself down next to the brooding Keyblade wielder with his grin ever-present. "Hey Sora," he greeted casually. "How ya doing today?"
"Buzz off," Sora angrily huffed.
"Oh come on. All I said was hello," Lea pointed out.
"And I'm not in the mood, Axel. So buzz off," Sora reminded him.
"Yeah, that's exactly why I'm not buzzing off," Lea retorted. "Come on, man. I know it seems like things are tough, but you can't let it get to you like this." And then the next thing the other three knew, Lea had started singing. "Gosh it disturbs us to see you, Sora looking so down in the dumps."
"Is he really…?" Ventus started to ask.
"I think he is," Roxas confirmed.
"Everyone 'round would love to be you Sora, even when taking your lumps.
There's no one around as admired as you, you're everyone's favorite guy.
Everyone's awed and inspired by you, and it's not very hard to see why!"
"I don't care," Sora insisted.
"Too bad, I'm telling you any way," Lea quickly insisted before resuming the song.
"Nooooo onnnnne's slick as Sora, no one's quick as Sora, no one's head's as incredibly thick as Sora's.
For there's no one around half as friendly. Perfect a pure paragon.
You can just ask Leon, Cloud, or Auron. And they'll tell you whose team they'd prefer to be on."
"I don't really think this is going to work," Roxas cautioned, as he noticed Sora's bad mood steadily getting worse.
"Yeah, because you're not helping. Get in here!" Lea ordered.
"Wha-?! You want us to-?!" Ventus stuttered.
"Yes! Now sing, boys!" Lea ordered, and he dragged out the first couple of notes before the blondes finally started singing along.
"Who plays Classic Kingdom like Sora, who has fun like Sora, who shines just like a ray of sun like Sora?!"
"As a specimen he can be intimidating," Roxas sang.
"My, what a guy that Sora!" all three harmonized, but Sora's mood still did not improve.
"Okay, that is it. Lea, I think we're done," Ventus sang out.
"I don't see him smiling, so you know what should go on?" Lea replied.
"Getting Ruby?" Roxas guessed.
"No! This song. We've got this!" Lea insisted.
"We really don't," Ventus argued, but Lea was already setting them off again.
"No one…fights like Sora, saves the light like Sora, when battling monsters no one smites like Sora. He's got a large arsenal of magic power."
"And a bunch of special forms to spare," Lea soloed as he produced a detailed list on Sora's many Drive Forms, Keyblade transformations, and so on.
"He might have a few more Keychains than what's fair," Ventus added.
"But hey, he's the main hero, so who cares?" Roxas asked.
"I kinda do, actually. I've only got like two or three," Lea admitted in a normal voice, but was back to singing with the other two before you knew it.
"No one hits like Sora, matches wits like Sora…"
"In a sparring match, nobody spars like Sora," Roxas finished.
"He's especially good at pulling crazy surprises," Ventus noted, his mind thinking of several of Sora's more dangerous battles and matches at Olympus Coliseum.
"Hooray for Sora!" All three cheered.
"When he started out, he went to eleven different worlds on a quest to save us all," Lea recalled in song.
"Eleven?" Ventus questioned.
"I mean, if you count both Monstro and that End of the World place," Roxas reasoned, prompting his fellow blonde to agree.
"But now that he's grown, he'd go to any number of worlds, 'cause his heart's size is unlike any of ours!" Lea continued.
"And I suddenly feel a little insulted," Ventus grumbled.
"Hey, he kept both of you guys, Xion, and to a certain extent Vanitas around inside his heart for gosh knows how long. It's justified to say his heart's massive," Lea pointed out.
Roxas and Ventus rolled their eyes, neither entirely sure that was how that sort of thing worked, but continued singing with Lea anyway. Too bad for them, none of the three noticed how Sora looked like he was ready to get up and leave the room at any second.
"Who has brains like Sora, entertains like Sora, who can constantly make evil refrain like Sora?"
"He uses king's crowns in all of his decorating," Ventus sang, no longer caring about how effective they were being. He was just having fun singing, and apparently the other three were too.
"Say it again! Who's a man among men? Who's the super success? Don't you know? Can't you guess? Ask his fans and his great many friends! There's just one guy around who's got all of it down…!"
"And his name's S-O-R-A," Lea started to spell out, only to stop short. "Hey, do you guys know how he spells his last name?"
"Seriously?" Roxas asked.
"How many ways do you think there are to spell Hikari?" Ventus questioned.
"Don't give me that. I only just learned he had a last name at all." Lea defended.
"Oh just forget it," Roxas told them both, right before they brought their number to an end.
"SORA~!"
With their song finally over, the guys looked to where Sora was sitting, only to see an empty space where their team leader had just been. Lea ended up being the one to ask the question. "Uh…where did he go?"
"I think he left somewhere around 'constantly make evil refrain,'" Ren informed them as he came over from the kitchen with a stack of freshly-made pancakes, surprising the other three.
Roxas glanced about the room in wonder until he finally asked, "Where did you come from?"
"I've been here the whole time making culinary art," Ren shrugged with a proud smile.
"Did you notice if Sora looked any better? Did you see him smile?!" Lea eagerly questioned.
"No, I didn't see him smiling. If anything, he looked like he had a permanent scowl molded onto his face," Ren informed him, unable to give Lea the satisfactory answer he had been hoping for.
Hearing what Ren had noticed made Lea whine sadly and sink to the floor in sorrow, while Ventus and Roxas both deflated. Ventus made a pitiful attempt to ease Lea's sorrows, but Roxas knew that right now, if they did not want an angry Sora terrorizing everyone, there really was only one thing to do, and he did not care if it did hurt anyone's egos anymore. "I'm going to go get Ruby."
"Please do," Ventus insisted, deciding to stay and sooth Lea's sorrow as best he could, even if the redhead did make a small, whining sound of agreement at last.
Speechless
Blake had been taking a stroll through the courtyard when she caught sight of something very rare. Weiss was by the fountain, moping. At least, it looked like she was moping, and somehow, Blake got the feeling it did not have anything to do with seeing a bunch of close friends and/or family members meeting up to do fun things together…this time. Normally, Blake would let one of her other teammates (usually Ruby. Anyone else starting to see a pattern here?) deal with Weiss when the heiress was in a bad mood, but as far as she could tell, there was no one else around right now. So, she simply had to resign herself to her fate of being the one to try and cheer her Atlesian friend up. Not really her forte.
"Hey Weiss," Blake greeted as casually as she could. "Is uh…everything okay?"
"Perfectly fine. Why do you ask?" Weiss insisted, or tried to at least.
"It's just…well, you seem a little…sad," Blake tried and failed to subtly point out.
"Oh. That," Weiss sighed, apparently realizing any effort to hide her current mood was useless. Did not mean she would not make one last effort though. "Well…It's hardly important, so you can just go and do whatever it is you do. Like reading those filth books, assuming Xion hasn't accidentally found them again."
That got Blake to back off quickly, as her face flushed at the mention of her guilty pleasure among favorite book series while a horrified look appeared in her eyes at the memory of what had happened the last time Xion accidentally stumbled upon one of said books. All of this to say that Blake scampered off like a frightened kitten, most likely hoping to make sure her books were will hidden once again, and leaving Weiss to what she had been doing before.
To be honest, Weiss actually did want to talk about what was bothering her a little, but she did not really know how. She could not help it if she sometimes thought about how growing up in the Schnee mansion was like, but every time it did happen, she always felt like crying a little bit, or just hating how trapped she had felt at those times. So, once she was sure she was alone, she did the only thing she could think of to cheer up. Sing.
"There was a wave meant to wash me away, a tide that was taking me under," she began, her thoughts circling around how her childhood starting to turning miserable when she was only ten, and how it progressively got worse after Winter left to join Atlas Academy and then the military. "Swallowing snow, left with nothing to say. My voice drowned out in the thunder."
That's when she started to remember the moment when she finally started to defy her father's wishes and think for herself. "But I won't cry, and I won't start to crumble. Whenever he tries to shut me or cut me down.
I won't be silenced. He can't keep me quiet. Won't tremble when he tries it. All I know is I won't go speechless. 'Cause I'll breathe, when he tries to suffocate me, don't you underestimate me, 'cause I know that I won't go speechless!"
Even when things got hard, Weiss knew what she had to do, and slowly, her sad memories began to bleed into the ones of when her life truly started to get better as she took control of it, and she happily worked that into her impromptu song.
"Written in stone, every rule, every word. Decades old and unbending. Stay in your place, better seen and not heard. Well now that story is ending. 'Cause I…I will not start to crumble. So come on and try, try to shut me and cut me down!
I won't be silenced! He can't keep me quiet! Won't tremble when he tries it! All I know is I won't go speechless. Speechless! Let the storm in! I cannot be broken! No I won't live unspoken, 'cause I know that I won't go speechless.
Try and lock me in some cage, I won't just lay me down and die. I will take these broken wings and watch me burn across the sky! Hear the echo saying I won't be silenced! Though he wants to see me tremble when he tries it. All I know is I won't go speechless. SPEECHLESS! 'Cause I'll breathe when he tries to suffocate me, but don't you underestimate me! 'Cause I know that I won't go speechless. All I know is I won't go speechless! SPEECHLESS!"
As the music faded away, Weiss could feel the last vestiges of her bad mood ebb away with it, and she put on a satisfied smile as she headed back into the dorms. Upon getting into the elevator, she did run into Blake, but paid her little mind otherwise. At least not until the cat Faunus spoke up.
"You're looking better," Blake noted.
"Yes, well, a little fresh air does everyone some good now and then," Weiss played off, not intending to admit what she really did. Too bad for her, it was already too late in Blake's case.
"I heard all that you know," Blake admitted.
"Heard all what?" Weiss asked, praying that Blake was not referring to what she thought she was.
"That whole musical number you just did," Blake elaborated, dashing Weiss's hopes.
Well, when it doubt, just take drastic measures, and Weiss did just that by drawing her sword and pointing it at Blake threateningly. "If you tell anyone…!"
"I know, I know. You're gonna freeze me in a block of ice like you did to Jaune," Blake placated.
"…Exactly," Weiss confirmed, sheathing her blade once more.
The two stayed quiet as they rode the elevator up to their floor, at least until Blake finally said, "You know, if you wanted to sing about your problems instead of talking about them, you could have just said so."
"Look, singing is something I prefer to do alone most of the time. You know, it's something I like doing when I have a little me time," Weiss insisted.
"But you've performed at recitals and concerts."
"At my father's request, and a lot of times, he didn't even show up. That kind of sours the experience a little."
"Okay, that's fair."
Crimson Rose
Night had fallen in Vale City, and with it, the criminal element. Sadly, the huntsmen and heroes of the city could not handle everything, and wherever they could not be, some crook was hard at work on some dastardly scheme. Lucky for us, a new hero has arrived on the scene. A hero clad in a red cloak, armed with a mighty weapon, eyes that shone like stars, and a kicking theme song!
"Daring girl of mystery, champion of right.
Bursts out from the shadows, this scythe wielder owns the night."
The young hero descends upon the city, her cloak waving in the wind and her scythe at the ready. At the sight of this caped do-gooder, several crooks all jump and gasp in fear, including the likes of Torchwick, Neo, Luxu, and a couple of Heartless and Nobodies.
"Somewhere some villain schemes, but their number's up!
THREE! TWO! ONE! GO!
CRIMSON ROSE!
When there's a disaster, you call this scythe master!
CRIMSON ROSE!"
"Let's get crazy!" the heroine declares as she rises before the villains.
"Crimson Rose!
Crimson! CRIMSON! ROSE!"
The heroine briefly disappears from view before a cloud of rose petals suddenly blanket the area, right before she defeats multiple enemies with incredible skill.
"Out of rose petals and she appears, a mistress of surprise.
Who's that brilliant mind behind shinning silver eyes?"
A flash of lightning strikes just before Crimson Rose glances to you (yes you, the reader), her previously mentioned eyes twinkling in the faint light of the streets. All the while, the various villains from before are panicking and doing whatever they can to stop her, but to no avail.
"Nobody knows for sure, bad guys are adding to their woes, 'cause HERE COMES…
CRIMSON ROSE! (LOOK OUT!)
When there's a disaster, you call this scythe master!
CRIMSON ROSE!"
"Let's get crazy," Crimson Rose repeats her words from earlier, this time with an explosive backdrop effect as she downs another couple of baddies.
"Crimson Rose!
Better watch out you bad boys!
CRIMSON ROSE!"
"Uh Ruby? What're you doing?" Yang's voice suddenly asks as all the lights suddenly come on.
In an instant, the nightscape of the city is revealed to be just Team RWBY'S dorm room with all the lights off, while the room itself has been rearranged into a haphazard mess, among which are various practice dummies with childish drawings of the various villains drawn on them, along with a few handmade dolls that look like ridiculous recreations of other baddies. And smack in the middle of all this, clad in a ridiculous superhero version of her Slayer outfit, with mask included, is none other than Crimson Rose herself, or should we say Ruby Rose, looking very embarrassed at being caught.
She was not about to break character, even with this surprise interruption from her sister. "I am not this 'Ruby' you speak of, random citizen," Ruby declared with a deep-sounding hero voice. "I am the terror that blooms in the night. I am the weeds in the garden of evil! I am Crimson Rose!"
Yang just stared at her sister for a minute before she pleaded, "Please tell me this isn't you starting something similar to Jaune's ridiculous HuntsMan thing. It was already bad enough when he convinced you and some of the others to help him with that Justice Hunters gimmick after he got shown up by the Keybladers. The name isn't even that different from the one he gave you. You just changed the Silver in Silver Rose to Crimson."
"Again, I do not know what you are talking about, random citizen. Though this Silver Rose person does sound intriguing. Perhaps I should see about making her my protégé in the future," Ruby continued to pretend, still using her deep hero voice.
Seeing she was not going to get through to her sister any time soon, Yang just sighed in defeat and said, "Alright, well, when you're done playing around 'Crimson Rose,' the guys need your help with something. Apparently Sora's in another funk. Oh, and I think those cookies you're making are in danger of burning since I saw Weiss heading for the kitchen just now."
That made Ruby break character, and blast out of her superhero outfit and the room quick as a flash, all the while shouting, "Oh no you don't, Schnee! I need those delicious friends to make my sweet Sora happy again!"
Yang smirked at her success in getting Ruby back to reality, but had to stop and wonder, "What's up with everyone around here dressing up and playing superhero lately anyway? We're already doing that just by studying to be huntsmen, and in the guys' case, Keyblade masters, and that makes us practically superheroes by default."
Still, she could not help but hum the little theme tune her sister had given her silly alter ego just now as she set to work fixing up their room. It was very catchy, after all.
AN: Annnnnnnnd cut! Great job, everyone! Great show. Okay, so first off, I know some people have already done a Sora version of "Gaston" before, but it's just so good that I had to do it again. I did try to use the new, live-action movie's version of the song, and then mix bits of it together with the classic cartoon's version, so here's to that.
Now the second one, I know, maybe a little too serious for a Chibi story, but the song just suits Weiss so well. I mean, I know it could also work for Blake, but in this case, I wanted to go with Weiss, since one of the other alternatives would be to have Weiss singing "Let it Go", and well...been there, done that, don't want to do it again.
Weiss: So true, and thank you.
AN: No problem. Now, the last one definitely had more of a Chibi vibe to it, and really, I just couldn't resist. And I think it confirms that Ruby has officially caught the superhero bug that's been going around lately, wouldn't you say?
Ruby: Does that mean we'll get to see more Crimson Rose skits in the future?
AN: Maybe...[smirks in a mysterious manner] Anyways, like I said at the beginning, I'm hoping to do a musical chapter every five chapters or so of this, so expect another round of songs then. If you want to make a request for a certain character(s) to sing a specific song though, I do have some ground rules. That being it has to, I repeat HAS to be a Disney song. And it also has to make sense why that character would sing that song. If you feel like you need to, please explain your reasoning for why that character would sing the song in question, but above all, like I said, it has to be a DISNEY song. Not a song from a Scooby-Doo moive, not a random band's more well-known or popular song, not a song from just any old musical. A DISNEY. Song.
Blake: Alright, they get it.
AN: Just making sure. Now, there's only a couple of reviews that I feel like I can answer this time, so I'll keep that short and to the point before wrapping up for now.
Firstly, "Starlord Master", as to how many chapters this fic will have...unknown. I mean, that's kind of the case with all of my stories until they're finished, but in this case, it's even more so, because who ever wants a RWBY Chibi thing to end?
"Darkmaster0000000", Haha! Thought you could get us by slipping Nora an energy drink huh? Well, too bad! We already had a counter agent for that. One that goes by the name of Lie Ren and his pancakes. Don't ask me how, but somehow, he found a way to make it so his pancakes counteract everything in the energy drink, and was able to whip some up while we kept Nora contained. And all within about two minutes. Give or take.
Nora: [sighs happily while licking syrup off her fingers, while Ren just stands beside her proudly with an empty plate]
AN: Yeah, so that's a thing. "TheRedeemer1995", actually, Pyrrha did in fact like the armor. In fact, she's trying to convince me to use it as a basis for how her possible Mistral attire might look. Or at least, part of the basis, but I'm probably still going to stick with what I already had in mind...Then again...Hm...Eh, something to think on later, next review!
"SuperSayainFever", no it is not weird at all to think Roxas and Xion could probably have something to do with keeping Neo from falling in with Cinder, but I'm not saying anymore than that just yet. You'll just have to keep reading Remnant of the Key canon to find out what I could possibly have in store for our favorite little Remnant version of Mary Poppins.
Neo: [via sign] Is this Mary Poppins person cool?
AN: [smirks knowing what's likely to come next] Yeah, she's pretty cool.
Neo: [via sign and with an excited grin] I'M MARY POPPINS YA'LL!
AN: Hehehe, cute. Very cute. Well, I think that's pretty much everything for now in terms of reviews I wanted to answer, so until next time...
What wacky adventures will come next? Who can say for sure? After all, it's all just a bunch of fun and games when you go chibi, and there's no way to know for sure just what will entail along the way.
Oh, and once again, be sure to check out my YouTube channel "Studio Fandom" and the DeviantArt page "studiofandom" if you haven't already. Always looking for more followers and subscribers on both. And as always...
Please read and review, and I'll see you next time for some more Chibi fun!
