Me: Hello everybody, my name Tokuniverse11 and welcome back to My Toku to Hero Academia! Now for this remake chapter of the Quirk Apprehension Test arc will be kinda different then the original, but you'll know when you see them.

This is more about the characters transitioning to college life before we get to the Apprehension Test which is the same but approached differently.

Milarqui: Well, back in the saddle – and with summer quickly approaching. Thank goodness that my house is cool!

Let's begin!

Chapter 3: Apprehension Test

"Previously on My Toku to Hero Academia, Izuku ad Katsuki get trained by All Might and his son Reactor with the duo's parent's permission! The two have passed the entrance exam with Izuku unhesitatingly saving a trapped Ochako from the zero-point Daikaiju! A love for Izuku rivalry has been formed between Itsuka and Momo! With the exams behind Izuku and Katsuki, how will their story go on from there?"

"You weren't kidding when you said we would have an interesting crop this year."

The practical test had ended a few hours before, and the examiners were now looking at the scores the candidates had earned.

"This one kid in particular, Midoriya... he broke pretty much every record we have for the practical entrance tests," Present Mic said.

1st - Midoriya Izuku: Combat 100, Capture 20, Civilians 25, Rescue 70 = 215 points

2nd - Kendo Itsuka: Combat 49, Capture 10, Civilians 21, Rescue 40 = 120 points

3rd - Bakugo Katsuki: Combat 90, Capture 10, Civilians 4, Rescue 5 = 109 points

4th - Ida Tenya: Combat 52, Capture 20, Civilians 10, Rescue 23 = 105 points

5th - Kirishima Eijiro: Combat 39, Capture 15, Civilians 12, Rescue 35 = 101 points

6th - Uraraka Ochako: Combat 28, Capture 12, Civilians 14, Rescue 45 = 99 points

7th - Shiozaki Ibara: Combat 36, Capture 13, Civilians 16, Rescue 32 = 97 points

8th - Utsushimi Camie: Combat 25, Capture 25, Civilians 20, Rescue 10 = 80 points

9th - Tokoyami Fumikage: Combat 47, Capture 8, Civilians 14, Rescue 10 = 79 points

10th - Shinso Hitoshi: Combat 0, Capture 38, Civilians 24, Rescue 15 = 77 points

"The interesting thing is that Shinso Hitoshi got the tenth spot thanks to the points he got outside of combat, I noticed others around him were following his orders. I think he has a mind-based quirk, and that does look like he is hindering the others."

Almost everybody nodded in agreement at the Voice Hero's words except for one.

"Actually, he was guiding those examinees to safety before breaking the control on them, in order to allow them to continue with the exam. I don't think that qualifies as anti-heroic, but in fact it would be rescue," Eraserhead pointed.

All Might sat back, watching the judges' analysis as he went deep in thought from seeing Izuku and Katsuki's performance.

That had happened a week before. The acceptance letters had already reached their destinations, and now All Might, along with his son, stood at the cleaned Dagobah Municipal Beach Park, the two watching the ocean waters come and go under the light of the crescent moon in the sky as they waited for the young men they had trained.

"Those two... they really exceeded our expectations," Reactor said, smiling softly while crouched down.

"Indeed. They, along with the others, will usher a new era for heroes," All Might said.

"Hey, All Might, Reactor," Izuku greeted as he and Katsuki arrived.

"Ah, young Midoriya, young Bakugo!" All Might greeted. "I see you both received my text, we want to congratulate you two on passing with style!"

"Thanks, although I'm pissed that someone got second place ahead of me," Katsuki grumbled. He was not happy that his rival had managed to rank just ahead of him, but that only made him more eager to face her at U.A.

"Anyways, so, you're going to be teaching at U.A.?" Izuku asked, and All Might grinned.

"Yes, I will be helping guide you and your future classmate this year!"

"That's so awesome!" Katsuki exclaimed, clearly excited to learn more from All Might at the top hero college in Japan.

"Oh, before I forget, my mom and Kacchan's parents want to invite you two for dinner, as a thank you for helping us train for the exam," Izuku said.

"Hmm, what do you think, dad?" Reactor asked.

"I see no reason to deny such a request, so let's go!" All Might shouted, dashing away while the three younger men followed suit.

Unbeknownst to them, the event had been witnessed by a young couple, holding hands as they walked for the beach.

"Holy shit, were those All Might and Reactor?" the boy asked.

"Yeah, but looks like they left already," the girl replied, sighing. She would have loved to get their autograph.

Izuku packed up the last pieces of his collection in a well secured box before carrying it out of his house and into the back of the van Katsuki and he were sharing. Closing the trunk door, Izuku then turned to look at his teary-eyed mother and the Bakugos.

"Oh, I can't believe our children are finally going to college," the green-haried woman said, sniffing at the idea that her son was moving out to live in the U.A. college.

"Now, now, Inko-chan, I'm sure our boys will come visit us on their off days," Mitsuki assured her friend, before casting an angry eye at her son. "Right, brat?"

Katsuki scoffed and looked away.

"Good luck out there, you two. I know you can show them what you are made of," Masaru stated, smiling at the two boys.

Izuku grinned confidently, and nodded, while Katsuki rolled his eyes.

"Right, we will!"

Izuku hugged his mother – who naturally returned the embrace – and then turned to hug Mitsuki and Masaru. Katsuki tried to dodge it, but his mother promptly put him in a headlock.

"You take of yourself, and make sure to keep this brat out of trouble, OK?" Mitsuki asked Izuku after her son escaped from her.

"You know I will do that," Izuku answered.

"Alright, Deku, let's go!" Katsuki said, heading to the driver's side of the van and starting up the engine.

"Going! Bye Mom, Mitsuki-ba-san, Masaru-ji-san!" Izuku said, waving as he got into the passenger's seat. Katsuki stepped on the pedal, and soon the van was on its way towards U.A.

And, as the van went into the distance, Inko's smile turned a bit more devious.

"And make sure to bring me a lot of grandkids to spoil, while you're at it..." she whispered, giving a small cackle now that she was certain her son could not hear her.

Izuku felt a shiver running through his back, but not seeing what could be the source he just shrugged it away. Meanwhile, Katsuki kept an eye on the side mirror as his parents and Inko slowly disappeared in the distance.

Briefly looking out from the window into the sky, Izuku was amazed that he and his best friend were about to begin a new chapter of their lives at U.A. While the university was in the same ward as their homes, it was still a while away, so Izuku turned on the radio so they could listen to the news.

"DEFENSE reports they have finished the reverse-engineering of the alien-made robot Mt Lady fought five months ago in Yokohama. According to the international organization, it was piloted by a self-proclaimed space pirate who had stolen the robot and come to Earth to steal our resources, only to be quickly met with fierce DEFENSE resistance that resulted in its death. From initial testing, DEFENSE's newest mech appears to have to ability to change between three different modes and bears an arsenal of beam and projectile weapons, which they claim will aid greatly in the aftermath of the Crisis Control and Prediction Network's latest report of an increasing number of Kaiju threats, as they expect it will help fight these threats and reduce property damage and deaths."

"Wow," Izuku muttered. Katsuki said nothing, keeping his hands on the wheel as the news kept going.

"The political debate on the abolishment of Quirk-restricting laws reaches its second week. The Diet remains divided between both sides while civilians demonstrate outside in favor of abolition. Several representatives claim these protesters are just remnants of the terrorist Meta Liberation Army, while others have claimed this to be but the demands of a population tired of being unwilling to keep what they are hidden."

That was an issue that had been running around for years. Izuku had once managed to find a copy of 'Meta Liberation War', Destro's manifesto, and while he agreed with some of it – such as free use of Quirks being a human right – he disapproved of the methods Destro and his followers had resorted to. As far as he was concerned, there were enough ways to achieve that without hurting innocent people.

The radio continued to report on the several kaijin attacks and villain arrests for several minutes before giving way to commercials, which was where Katsuki turned it off.

"That's it, Deku, we're here already."

Izuku turned his eyes to look at the huge building now coming closer to them. U.A. certainly looked imposing as Katsuki took the van into the grounds and found a place to park. The two got out of the van and stood just outside of the student dormitories, the 'Heights Alliance', which was already starting to see the students – both returning and new – arriving one by one.

"Look at this place, Kacchan," Izuku said, astonished at the sight.

"Totally cool place for us to live in," Katsuki answered as he began to pick up a box from the trunk.

"Yeah, it is."

Going into Heights Alliance, Izuku and Katsuki sought the receptionist desk. While the receptionist checked their identities, Izuku looked at what the dormitories had: just on the first floor, there was a common area with couches, tables, a television and a large kitchen, with signs pointing at the common bathrooms and laundry rooms, and even access to a courtyard.

"Midoriya Izuku, Room 304. Bakugo Katsuki, Room 305," the receptionist said, handing them two keycards. "If you direct the robots to your belongings, they will carry them to your assigned rooms."

A group of bug-like drones followed the two of them, and they handed their boxes over to them. Fortunately, the drones were smart enough to know which box belonged to whom, and as soon as the last drone was off, Katsuki closed the van.

"Well, that saves us the trouble of having to go back and forth for our stuff," he said, his hands on the back of his head as they moved upstairs to check the third floor.

"Man, this place is huge. How big do you think our dorm rooms are going to be like?" Izuku wondered.

"They're going to be fuckin' huge. These guys don't skimp on what they give us," Katsuki replied as they opened the door separating the stairs from the corridor and began to seek their respective rooms. When Katsuki found room 305, he picked his keycard and opened the door. "This one's mine."

"Mine's here," Izuku stated, opening the door across the corridor. "Looks like we're going to be sleeping across from each other, Kacchan."

"Awesome! Let's unpack our stuff and then we can go get our IDs."

Izuku entered his room and checked its facilities. It looked quite nice: a bed, a desk, a TV, a large closet, a crystal door leading to a balcony, an air conditioning system and a bathroom with a shower, basin and toilet. The balcony itself had a great sight of the campus, which made him smile.

"Alright... time to unpack my things," Izuku declared, activating Mover so he could get all of his stuff in place as soon as possible. Once he was done, his room looked like an altar to All Might and Tokusatsu, embodying the fanboy inside the 18-year-old young man he was. When Izuku came out of his room, he saw Katsuki was also done and closed his door.

"Let's go now, Deku," he said, hands in his pockets as he made his way back to the stairs, stepping out of the way of the other students. Izuku smiled and followed, clenching his hands.

"Yeah, let's."

U.A. University Campus

Izuku and Katsuki checked their college IDs as they came out of the administration building: with their decoration and the 'Plus Ultra' motto stamped in bright colors, there was no doubt they were U.A. students.

"This is so fuckin' awesome, we're officially hero college students!" Katsuki grinned, and he and Izuku high-fived.

"Orientation tour is starting in a few minutes at the fountain area. Are you up for that, Kacchan?" Izuku asked.

"Booooring, pass! I'm staying at my room, and I ain't coming out until we have to do that Quirk Apprehension test in two days. Later," Katsuki said, walking back to the dormitories and giving him a wave. Izuku chuckled as he walked to the fountain area, where he found several other students waiting.

"Hey, everyone!" The group of freshmen students turned to look at a smiling woman, wearing a T-shirt with U.A.'s logo on it, waving at them. "So, you guys are the new students? My name is Yuma, and I'll be giving you your orientation tour on this perfect day!"

The students went to follow her as she started walking. Soon, they arrived to what looked like a large laboratory, with students wearing engineer getups walking around and carrying tools or equipment.

"This is the main lab building, where the Support Department students learn how to design and build support equipment, for heroes to use in their fights against villains and monsters," Yuma explained as she entered the building. Through transparent doors and windows, the Hero students saw their Support counterparts designing or building devices, already in their first day. For Izuku, the best was admiring how they worked hard to ensure everyone was safe and protected: he looked forward to the possibility of working with them and using Tinker.

"Oh, looks like Power Loader is about to test some new equipment!" Yuma stated, leading them to an observation post where they could watch the Support Department teacher. From what Izuku could see, he was wearing a pair of utility-looking gauntlets.

At least, that was what they looked like, until he started projecting energy blasts and concentrated beams, shocking everyone, before Yuma guided them away.

"So, here's the cafeteria!" she said, leading the group to a large canteen room. In spite of the hour, there were several students lazing about, possibly because it was the first day and they did not have classes. "U.A.'s cafeteria serves a sheer variety of high quality dishes, crafted by Lunch Rush and his staff. Personally, I believe we've got the world's best chef working here."

Izuku took a note of asking for some katsudon after the tour. He needed to compare notes with his mom's, after all.

Kei showed them other places, like the infirmary – complete with a warning from Recovery Girl not to get hurt – or the Business Department, before leading everyone to what many thought was the most important part of the campus.

"As you have seen, U.A. offers a wide variety of majors, but its crown jewel is the Heroic School, where students who passed the entrance exam like you learn from the best hero teachers it has to offer. And this is where many of you will be coming, starting next Monday! This is the end of the tour, I hope you enjoyed it! Good luck with your majors, and remember, Go Beyond, Plus Ultra!"

As Yuma left, Izuku and the other freshmen looked up in awe at the Heroic Department building.

Within said building, Toshinori was reviewing the files of the forty students that were taking Heroics 101, his first class, and taking notes on them. Midpoint through it, he went over to check who would be the one hosting the freshmen's Heroic Quirk Apprehension Test: an evaluation of the students' capabilities, formed by eight fitness tests, that took place on the students' actual first day. It was meant to check where they were, and serve as the basis for future testing.

Toshinori pinched the bridge of his nose as soon as he saw the name.

"Aizawa-san, on their first day. They are going to be in for a rude awakening," he muttered. Aizawa and he had never been on the best of terms, even before he joined U.A.'s staff, and he was one of the most strict men he knew. "Let's hope Midoriya-shonen and Bakugo-shonen aren't overwhelmed by this."

U.A. P.E. Grounds, Two Days later

Izuku and Katsuki left the locker room and walked to the sports field, a place large enough to host several football fields, wearing their P.E. outfits: unlike high school, there was no uniform code, so they could wear whatever they wanted, within regulations.

They were the last ones to come out: waiting for them were the other thirty-eight Hero students, both the ones that had passed the entrance exam like them or the few that got in through recommendation, talking amongst themselves to pass the time until their instructor showed up.

"Tch. So, these guys are going to be our classmates? They don't look like much to me," Katsuki commented, giving his usual savage grin.

"Don't judge a book by its cover, Kacchan. They are likely stronger than they seem to be," Izuku cautioned.

That was when two familiar faces walked up to him.

"Hey! Itsuka, Momo!"

"Hello, Izu-kun/Izuku-kun!" the two girls chorused, before taking a look at each other.

"Congratulations on your second place, Itsuka-chan," Izuku said, and the martial artist gave a confident grin.

"Was there ever a doubt I would pass? And hey, I know Bakugo was pissed about me being right behind you," she said, smirking at the teeth-clenching Katsuki, who chose to walk away before he exploded.

"Midoriya-kun!" another voice called, and the three turned to see Ochako and the blue-haired boy from the exam walking up towards them.

"Uraraka-san, nice to see you again!" Izuku replied. Ochako smiled before looking to Itsuka and Momo.

"I'm Uraraka Ochako. Please, take care of me!" she introduced herself with a bow. The two girls smiled and returned the gesture.

"Kendo Itsuka."

"Yaoyorozu Momo."

With the girls having introduced themselves, they looked at the last person in their little group, who had been clearly waiting for them to be done as he stood stiffly.

"My name is Ida Tenya, from Soumei High School!" he introduced himself. The girls giggled, and Izuku grinned.

"Well, it is nice to finally know your name," he said, but before he continued he felt another presence. His eyes caught sight of a giant yellow bean that had suddenly appeared behind the rest of the crowd.

"This is not a place to socialize and find buddies..." Out of the bean came a black-haired man with tired eyes, revealing that it was actually a sleeping bag, from which he pulled a juice pouch. "This is an university of heroes!"

As he drank the entire pouch in one epic go, he fully opened the sleeping bag and stepped outside of it, revealing his ragged black outfit, dark boots, utility belt, and scarf. With the pouch empty, he turned to the students, who had already shut up as they waited for the elder to indicate his purpose.

"I guess you are the one that will direct our Quirk assessment?" Izuku wondered outloud, while the teacher looked at them over the shoulder.

"That's correct. Guess we do have some rational students, after all."

Most of the students felt a shiver going down their spines at his tone: clearly, this man was not one who tolerated fools, at all.

"My name is Aizawa Shota, and as your classmate stated, I'll be directing your Quirk Assessment Test. Eight physical tests, similar to those you did in high school, but this time you will be using your Quirks and test your actual performance level." He looked over the students before settling on Izuku. "Midoriya, come forward."

Izuku did as he ordered, and Aizawa pulled a softball out of the sleeping bag, tossing it at Izuku.

"Stand in the circle and throw the ball as far as you can, but using your Quirk. As long as you stay in the circle, you can do whatever. Don't you dare hold back," the teacher ordered. Izuku could tell that Aizawa was dead serious about his demand, and he resigned himself as Aizawa held a tablet to measure.

"Well, let's do this..." Izuku took a deep breath and entered the circle. As he did, a red glow began to spread from his shoulders to his right hand, turning gray on the softball itself. Most of his classmates began to watch in awe.

"What's that glowing stuff on his arm?" A spiky red-haired boy asked, looking intently at Izuku.

"Yeah, that looks awesome!" another boy, this one with silver hair, shouted.

"That would be Brute and Striker, two of his Quirk's aspects," Momo explained, smiling as she took in her friend. "The former grants him immense strength, while the latter gives him touch-based or melée abilities with different effects."

"Really? That's, like, totes hot," a fawn-haired girl commented, smiling.

"Waait a minute, you said it's an aspect," a dark green-haired girl interrupted, showing a large grin with multiple pointed teeth. "Does that mean there's more to his Quirk than that?"

"Yes, there is. He calls it 'Omni-Para Force', and I think it's one of the strongest Quirks I've ever heard about, but I think I'll let him explain later, since he knows it all much better than I do," Momo admitted.

"Yeah, that's right," Itsuka agreed.

"Wow! If it is that powerful, it's got to be the coolest Quirk I've ever seen before!" a blond-haired guy with a black lightning mark on his hair exclaimed.

"It sounds like a great power from beyond," another spiky-haired boy, but this one brunet, chirped.

While his classmates spoke, Izuku had charged up to his best. The red glow around his arm was incredibly intense, and mixed up with the grey energy emitted by the softball. Aizawa was actually surprised that it actually smelled like ozone. Then Izuku threw the ball – and an explosion shook the grounds. The shockwave was powerful enough to throw a large dust cloud over his classmates and teacher, who were left temporarily deafened from the explosion.

"FUCK! A little warning next time, Green!" one of the girls – the one with the long earphone jack-like earlobes – complained, holding her ears tight as she tried to push back the pain from her mind.

It took a while for everyone to recover, but once they did, it was to see Izuku still standing within the circle, the ground swept up clean by the shockwave, and a smoking, yet still fine-looking, arm. Aizawa picked up his tablet to check how far the ball had landed, and he felt an eyebrow lifting in surprise before turning it to show the other students.

3054 m

"That's so awesome! I wanna try it!" a girl with shocking pink hair and skin declared, grinning with excitement as Izuku shook off his arm and small bolts of yellow energy fired away.

"That's insane," a boy with slicked blond hair said, feeling shocked at the result.

"What in the..." the messy, indigo haired boy muttered.

"You think this is fun?" Aizawa asked, turning to the pink girl with an intimidating glare he later directed to the others. "So, were you planning to spend your three years here having fun? What happened to becoming heroes?"

The students went silent: it felt almost as if a waterfall of cold water had been dropped on them.

"Fine, then," Aizawa declared. "Since that's the way it will be, I have a new rule. Whoever comes in last place at the end of the test, they will be considered 'hopeless' and will be expelled from Heroics 101."

Izuku rose an eyebrow and checked on Momo, who rolled her eyes at the supposed 'rule': she was certain there was no way they would grant a teacher such power. The other students did believe he could though, judging by their expressions.

"You can't do that, this is just our first day here!" Ochako protested, drawing Aizawa's attention.

"I can't, you say? Us Heroics teachers, we have freedom to do whatever we consider necessary to those students who don't live up to our expectations..." he said, pushing his hair back so the students could see his mocking expression. "If you believed you would be having a friendly chat at a local café after class... that's too bad, because the world isn't fair."

That was when Izuku realized who their instructor was.

'He is Eraserhead!' he thought, but then he narrowed his eyes at the elder man, having noticed how the pink girl felt down.

"So what."

Aizawa turned to Izuku, only to be met by his sudden defiance, while the other students looked at him in surprise.

"Just because instructors like you may have that privilege doesn't mean that you get to treat anyone however you see fit to your own set of 'standards'. I understand what you're getting at, hero work is dangerous, there's villains, monsters, and natural disasters all over the world, causing misery and destruction to people, and we're going to go through a lot of hardships as well. But we can't be heroes 24/7, if we try that we'll burn out. We are going to need to learn how to take breaks and relax. But you better believe we're going to surpass everyone's expectations! We're going to live up to U.A.'s motto!"

Aizawa looked over to the other students, and saw that the words of encouragement were starting to bring out everyone's determination to do their best. Katsuki could not help but to savagely grin at his friend's boldness, and the pink girl looked up to Izuku in appreciation for defending her.

Seeing that the green-haired kid had managed to light a fire under his fellow heroes-in-training's asses, Aizawa smirked at Izuku.

"Interesting. Let's see if you can live up to your claims, then."

"Alright. First test, the fifty-meter dash. You will race in pairs, and you will be timed. Since I will be calling you up by your names, you better use that to learn about each other," Aizawa explained, ordering everyone to line up in two rows.

The first off were the pink girl, Ashido Mina, and a blond boy named Aoyama Yuga, who was somehow surrounded by sparks.

"I will dazzle all of you with my Navel Laser, and the creativity that comes with it!" Yuga boasted, showing a smug smirk. Some of the students giggled or chuckled as he turned with his back to the racing line, while Mina took her shoes off and got in position. Then the robot fired the starting gun.

Yuga laughed as he jumped into the air and fired a laser beam from his navel, propelling him faster than what Mina was running. However, the laser beam quickly gave out, and Yuga fell on the ground, skidding on the dirt while Mina ran ahead, sliding over some substance she was producing from the soles of her feet. Yuga forced himself on his feet and began to run after the girl.

Ashido Mina: 4.84 seconds

Aoyama Yuga: 5.30 seconds

"If I had fired my laser for more than one second, I would've blown up my stomach so badly," the boy explained, flashing stars around him. Everyone just stared at him in confusion.

After them came Tenya and a boy with dark, shaggy hair, called Kaibara Sen. When the robot set the gun off, Tenya activated his Quirk, which took the form of engines in his calves, and launched himself ahead, beating Sen by a large margin.

Ida Tenya: 2.04 seconds

Kaibara Sen: 5.32 seconds

"That was amazing, Ida-san!" Izuku complimented.

"Thank you, Midoriya-kun! Had the race been longer, I would have been able to go faster, but I guess that's the best I can do! I'm eager to see more of what you'll do!"

It was Izuku's turn, and on the other side stood Utsushimi Camie, the fawn-haired girl. Izuku was not one to fixate on such things, but he had to admit that Camie was particularly attractive, with her curves and plump lips. However, he pushed that out of his mind and concentrated on the task at hand. As soon as the gun blew off, Izuku activated Mover and left a large dust cloud behind himself, which Camie came out of shortly thereafter. Aizawa sighed, and everyone waited for the cloud to finally settle – which was when they saw the time Izuku had achieved.

Midoriya Izuku: 1.23 seconds

Utsushimi Camie: 5.45 seconds

"Woah, now that is insane," a short, rotund boy said.

"We really have several fast ones here, that's so manly," the red-haired boy muttered.

Izuku chuckled sheepishly at the praises his fellow students gave him: he had never been good at receiving them. He turned to Camie.

"Sorry about that. We weren't supposed to hold back, so... you did a good job out there, Utsushimi-san," Izuku said, and Camie smiled at him.

"No worries here, fam. Call me Camie, by the way." She winked at him, and Izuku felt his face burning. "You were real lit and hot out there! Can I, like, have your number?"

"Uh... sure... later."

Their exchange had not gone unnoticed, and the other girls, the ones that were interested in the green cinnamon roll themselves, sent envious looks at them before shaking off their thoughts to focus back on the trial.

Most pairs after Izuku and Camie did not garner good times, ranging between five and nine seconds, until it came to Katsuki and Todoroki Shoto, a boy with unusual features: hair that was split down the middle with white to the right and red to the left, following his heterochromatic eyes, and, the most notable feature, a burn scar that covered the left side of his face, from the hairline to half his cheek.

When the robot blasted off, both boys went all out with their Quirks.

"Explosive Turbo!" Katsuki yelled, using an upgraded version of his Explosive Speed move to propel himself ahead.

Todoroki suddenly began to blast fire from his left hand and ice from his right, combining them to rush ahead.

"He has a dual fire and ice Quirk!" Izuku exclaimed.

"Yeah, I think he's Endeavor's son," Awase Yosetsu, the boy with a headband, pointed out.

Todoroki quickly caught up to Katsuki, who answered by firing Explosive Turbo repeatedly. The two of them were neck to neck in the race, reaching the finish line almost at the same time.

Bakugo Katsuki: 2.87 seconds

Todoroki Shoto: 2.94 seconds

"Great job, Kacchan!" Izuku exclaimed, offering a high five Katsuki quickly accepted with a smirk.

"Thanks, Endeavor's son couldn't beat me!" he yelled, loud enough for Todoroki to hear. Not that he paid it any mind, as he just walked away.

"Second test. All of you have been given a dynamometer to measure your grip strength. Give your all. At the same time, I would rather not have to explain to Power Loader that one of you broke one of his instruments."

For the most part, it was the men that stood out. Shishida Jurota, a massive, hirsute, bespectacled young man, was able to pass 600 kilograms. Katsuki had managed to push into 640 kilograms. Shoji Mezo, who wore a mask over his mouth and had a mutant Quirk that gave him six burly arms that could transform, easily surpassed 700 kilograms.

That did not mean the women were left behind. An American-born blond girl named Melissa Shield achieved 540 kilograms, and Momo just created a machine that reached almost a ton of strength.

Of course, all that was left in the dust by Izuku, who just pulled out his Brute aspect and reached about 1060 kilograms in one go. He might have done better, but the dynamometer's creaking did not bode well for its long term survival.

"Third test. Jump as far as you can without a running start. Try not to break yourselves."

This task favored those who could reach long distances with only one movement, like Ochako or the frog-like girl, Asui Tsuyu. However, there were also some who were just naturally predisposed for athletic tasks.

After Katsuki cleared the jump by propelling himself with his explosions, it was Izuku's turn. And Izuku was excited, because he had gotten a new ability from his Mover aspect a few days before, and he had wanted to try it.

Taking a deep breath, Izuku let the green aura of Mover surround his body, and with a thought he pushed ahead with a jump. All that was left in place was a green trail tracing an arc that ended several meters away, where Izuku had landed, clearing the sandbox by a longshot.

Almost everybody was getting quite impressed by Izuku's performance, and wondered what other stuff he was keeping under his sleeve.

"Fourth task. You have one minute to jump from one side to the other of these two lines as many times as possible."

The only student predisposed for this task was Tsuyu, who kept jumping back and forth with her powerful legs, but some of the others found interesting solutions. Katsuki used carefully timed explosions to propel himself between both sides. Komori Kinoko, a girl with a Quirk that let her create mushrooms, just grew two huge mushrooms and bounced between them. Tenya applied bursts of the engines in his calves to move. And Izuku just used Mover to do it.

"Fifth test. Throw a softball as far as you can. Midoriya, you already did this one, so don't bother."

Izuku just watched his classmates use their Quirks, and it was amazing. Katsuki used an explosion to send his ball 1305 meters away. Momo created a cannon and sent it almost a kilometer away. Koda Koji, a rocky-like student, used his Quirk to convince a bird to carry the ball away with it, almost reaching 600 meters. Itsuka took advantage of her larger hands to reach 816.

The most amazing, however, was Ochako, who just used Zero Gravity on the ball and threw it into the air. By the time they got bored with waiting for it to fall, Izuku had used Thinker and realized the ball had actually left Earth's orbit, so Aizawa just slapped an infinity to her score in the task.

"Sixth test. Run as many laps as you can without stopping."

Here, Izuku was just barely defeated by Tenya and Momo, who tied by reaching half a lap more than him. Katsuki became frustrated when Itsuka beat him for fourth place, just behind Izuku.

"Seventh test. Sit down with your legs extended and attempt to reach your toes."

The winner in this task was, surprisingly, Mina, who seemed to be made of plasticine as she quickly reached her toes, which she claimed was thanks to her training as a dancer. Several of the other girls, like Tsuyu and Setsuna, were also flexible enough to reach out thanks to their Quirks, while some of the others were just naturally able, like Camie.

"Last test. Do as many sit ups as you can without stopping."

Here, Izuku and Katsuki just dominated the test, doing so many sit ups that in the end Aizawa just told them to stop because the class was running late.

With the last test finished, everyone decided they had earned a good rest and were sitting on the ground. Izuku was the exception, as he was stretching out to avoid getting cramps later.

"Your rank is based on comparing your results to pre-established benchmarks," Aizawa said, manipulating his tablet. "Since reciting all your scores would be irrational, I will just show you the results."

With a tap of a button, the tablet began to emit a hologram above it, allowing the students to see the rankings:

40. Shinso Hitoshi

No one was surprised to see Izuku in the first place: after all, he had pretty much dominated the entire test from the beginning. As a contrast, Hitoshi – the purple-haired, tired boy – looked down to the ground after seeing he had ended in last place. Granted, his Brainwashing Quirk did not offer anything in the combat or athletics department, but several others were in the same situation and had achieved better results.

As for Katsuki, his reaction was obvious.

'What the fuck! I got placed behind fucking Kendo again?!' he thought, boiling in anger and glaring at Itsuka, who just returned a shit-eating grin in response.

Everyone's reactions ranged between disappointment that they had not been placed higher, sadness that one of them might have to leave, or relief that they had passed the test.

"And that will be all for today. You'll find your syllabus back by the entrance of the locker rooms, take one and give them a do-over. Oh, and about the expulsion... I was lying." Aizawa's smirk turned into something more akin to what one would expect to see in certain Internet imageboards. The students froze up and looked at the teacher. "It was a rational deception, intended to make you push the limits of your Quirks."

"Of course, it was a ruse." Momo scoffed. "It was obvious, but maybe I should have spoken up sooner."

"Hold up, sensei."

Aizawa quirked an eyebrow, noticing that once more Izuku had intervened, and this time he was upset.

"Why don't you tell us the actual truth? We can handle it. After all, this is U.A., where you and the other teachers will throw just about anything at us, and we're all adults here," Izuku said, gritting his teeth.

"Izu-kun... what are you doing?" Itsuka asked, putting a hand on his shoulder.

Katsuki looked at his friend with intrigue, while the others seemed to be confused by their classmate. Aizawa, meanwhile, had returned Izuku's look, before he sighed, closed his eyes and shook his head with a smile.

"Alright then, Midoriya, so be it. I wasn't lying about expelling someone. I have worked here for more than a decade, and I have expelled many students because they failed to live up to expectations. Just last year, I expelled an entire class in the first week."

Momo covered her mouth in shock, taking a step back as she realized her mistake, while everyone else was left in a similar level of stupefying.

"But you lot have proven that you have potential. Those of you who don't have Quirks suitable for these tasks, you made the effort to compensate. So, be sure to take this chance very seriously, or else I will change my mind about kicking you out." Aizawa kept staring down at the students, several of which were shivering about how cold his words were. It was clear he would actually follow on his threats if pushed. "Any other questions?"

"No, sensei!" the students chorused.

"Good. Have a pleasant rest of the day, and be prepared for the next Heroics class in a few days. If you thought this assessment was hard, wait until you have the actual thing. You might not survive in the end."

With such Parthian shot, Aizawa walked away, while the students heavily breathed, glad to have survived the encounter with the teacher. Momo turned to Izuku, clearly embarrassed.

"Izuku-kun, I-I-"

Izuku put a hand on her shoulder and gave her a reassuring smile. Momo felt herself calming down, and yet her heart sped up.

"It's alright. There was no way for you to find out of how our teacher truly was before."

With those words, everyone returned to the locker rooms. It was time to get dressed, check out the syllabus for the course and take advantage of the half-day of freedom they had before returning to classes.

"Aizawa, a word!"

The instructor sighed as he found himself face to face with All Might. Keeping a bored expression as he looked at the Number One Hero, Aizawa hoped he would leave him alone soon.

"Oh, it's you, All Might. I guess you were watching, then?"

"I see that you didn't expel any students this time! And I know that you have expelled your good number of students without a moment's hesitation, if you judged them as having 'zero chances'. Could it be because..." All Might's grin turned even more intense than usual, as he leaned forward and pointed at Aizawa as if his hand were a gun, "that you felt their potential?"

Aizawa raised an eyebrow.

"I'm going to hazard a guess and say you know someone in there. In fact, I am going to point out it is either Midoriya or Bakugo, the two of them remind me of you and your son for obvious reasons. Your need for flashy performances must have rubbed in on them."

"Thank you!" All Might said, grinning.

"That wasn't a compliment, I assure you," Aizawa replied before sighting and shrugging. "I'm going to go out on a limb and say you, and quite likely Reactor, had a hand in training those two. They already have the physical capabilities of a rookie Pro Hero, but their lack of experience and maturity is going to get in the way of their improvement. Besides that, everyone else in that class has a chance above zero, but if any of them ends up with their barks below their current situation, I might expel them right then and there."

All Might put a fist on his waist and wiggled a finger in Aizawa's direction.

"Just as I thought... you and I will never get along."

Aizawa shrugged, completely unconcerned, before he slouched away with his hands in his pockets.

That evening, the Heights Alliance common area was full of freshman students, taking a break between dinner time and the time to return to their rooms for a good night's sleep, with several of them engaged in conversations of great depth and importance to their future together.

"And that is why I think Godzilla's Revenge is the worst Godzilla movie ever made," Izuku asserted to Setsuna Tokage, who turned out to be as big a Toku fan as he was, only she preferred the Kaiju subgenre.

"No argument there, Green. Now, if you ask me for my favorite movie, it's The Last Dinosaur by Tsuburaya Productions and Rankin Bass. It's so underrated," Setsuna responded.

"No way, Atragon is the most underrated film ever produced by Toho!" Denki countered as he intervened in the conversation.

Most of their classmates were just laughing at the pointless, yet hilarious, discussion on tokusatsu films the three of them had engaged in.

"On another note... the Apprehension Test was really intense, if you ask me," Izuku remarked after the discussion ended.

"Yes. I can't believe Aizawa-sensei has actually been allowed to expel students with such ease," Momo commented.

"It's terrifying to think that instructors like him have the power to expel students without a by-your-leave," Itsuka said.

"Gotta say, though, it was awesome on how you stood up to Aizawa for us, Midori-kun!" Mina stated, smiling.

"It was nothing, I just can't stand people being sad and down on themselves," he replied, smiling and rubbing the back of his head.

"Now, that is manly!" Eijiro exclaimed.

Hitoshi said nothing: he just watched his classmates speak, enjoying the relaxed atmosphere before deciding to head up to his dorm room to sleep the night away.

"LMAO, I really, like, loved the performance you did, cutie~," Camie remarked, and Izuku cursed his cheeks and how easily they reddened.

"Yeah, you were really out there, outdoing us all with that Quirk of yours!" Yosetsu exclaimed.

"Yeah, your Quirk could do everything you put your mind to!" Denki added.

"Thank you, guys. Now, though, I think we should all get some sleep and get ready for tomorrow. We only have a couple of days before the next Heroics 101 class, and who knows what the teachers are planning to do."

Izuku stretched his arms and headed to his room. His classmates checked phones and watches and agreed that it was getting late, so they followed him and got ready for bed.

After all, it would soon be a new day for the U.A. University students...

Milarqui, your thoughts on the chapter? Still the same but at the same time significantly different since its a college not a high school.

Milarqui: Well, it's certainly diverging a bit from canon.

Trope Talk Time...

* Adaptational Badass:

** Not just Izuku, who is up to eleven, but other people around him ranging from Katsuki, Itsuka, etc. It's the result of U.A. being a college that it gives everyone more time to grow and become more stronger by the time they're 18 year old adults.

** Rather just detonating the sweat from only his hands as in canon, Bakugo can now detonate any of the sweat on his body, making him more versatile and stronger.

* Adaptational Nice Guy: Katsuki has a wholesome and close friendship with Izuku in this story, treats him as his equal and anyone who insults Izuku will feel and face Katsuki's wrath. He is still an asshole to others, but it totally played for laughs and comedy.

* Age Lift: The 40 Heroic 101 students including Melissa Shield and Camie Utsushimi are both Izuku's age (18), instead of canon's two and one year older. That also extends to the family members related to the students.

* Chuunibyou: Izuku is a downplayed example as he has actual powers to do those tokusatsu things for real while Fumikage is an all the types example.

* Combo Platter Powers: Izuku's quirk gives him twelve aspects that each are different in abilities for any situation. Each aspect gets new abilities that associate with the purpose of them like for example Mover would give Izuku abilities only relating to mobility.

* Superpower Lottery: Up to Eleven with Izuku as his quirk is a lot more powerful with multiple abilities for him to use and will make him less predictable with each difficult situation he is put into that causes the quirk to evolve.

* Soldier vs. Warrior: DEFENSE are the soldiers due to them being more organized with their heroes having a military structure and protocols that they must follow and specialized uniforms compared to World Heroes Association who are the warriors as they freely do their work without truly needing to follow orders, have different designed costumes and most of the heroes are individually independent from one another.

-Terms used in My Toku to Hero-

* Sidekicks: Weaker, less-experienced heroes who are employed under the leadership of a stronger, more experienced Hero. Hero equivalent to the Henchmen.

* Vigilantes: Humans who voluntarily carry out duties usually done by licensed Heroes without paying attention to the law.

* Generals: High-ranking individual villains who serve a villain organization/faction and are usually the ones in charge of sending out and commanding the Henchmen other than their main leader/boss due to their slightly higher status.

* Henchmen: Lower ranked villains that are used as grunts for any main Villain leader/boss and/or Generals due to how they can usually be defeated and dispatched with ease by the Heroes. Villain equivalent to the Sidekicks.

So please review, fave, follow, or all of the above. But as usual NO FLAMES and UNFAIR RANTS! Unless it's criticism which is very fine. More tolerant of guest reviews.

The next chapter will be on the Battle Trial arc which will be significantly different, but first I must deal with my other stories before coming back here. Thanks for reading everybody, we'll be seeing you in the next chapter, buh bye!
