Chapter 8

After they had returned from dinner, Robert sat watching her, a smile on his face. Making calls, writing notes, she is a woman on a mission. There was so much he wished he remembered. He wanted to remember everything of course, but sitting here, watching this amazing woman. He wanted to remember her, to remember them. "So how did we meet?"

"What?" With a grin, Anna looked up from the phone book. She was working out what their best options were for getting out of here unnoticed.

"We have quite the history. I don't seem to know what it is but I know we do. Just the few highlights I seem to remember and I know we have one hell of a story. How did this stunning woman come into my life?"

Anna grinned as she thought back to that amazing day so many years before. "With a lot of self-confidence, quick wit, something to prove and a lump in my throat. My god, I had heard about Agent Robert Scorpio but you were more than I expected. The first thing I said to you was, why don't you turn around and then you did." Anna smiled thinking about seeing him for the first time. He turned and their eyes met, in that moment she knew everything was going to change. This handsome man is going to be a challenge but it is going to be worth every minute. Anna remembered grinning when she realized the kind of reaction he had to her and that she liked it. It was going to be a fun assignment.

"That grin says I must have made quite the first impression."

The confidence in his statement made Anna smile. Maybe he doesn't remember everything, he knows some of the important things and even without his memory he is still the same guy. "I knew my life was about to change and it was going to be a blast. After that first meeting, I knew you were going to be a challenge but I was looking forward to it. I was excited about what was to come but I never would have seen what happened coming." Anna couldn't help the silly grin thinking back. "I also know I made quite the impression on you." She let out a confident little laugh, "I believe that was the first time I took your breath away," she told him, tilting her head and smiling.

"You are breathtaking." Robert leaned forward in his chair. He was sitting on the other side of the room but was drawn to her. "Did we date?"

"No, we went on assignment together and posed as newlyweds. When we returned to Paris after a successful rescue and a detour through Italy, we were newlyweds. It wasn't impetuous or foolhardy, we both knew we were meant to be together. We hadn't known each other for a week when we got married. We stumbled into this little village on a day that anyone that wanted to get married could and we did. We just knew."

"It's been here all along then? This feeling when you're here. When you're with me. This is where I belong."

"I felt like I had finally found my home when I met you. That comforting feeling, like it, will be alright now." Anna wiped at the tear in her eye as she smiled at him. "Yeah, it's been there all along. I'd already been through a lot by then and we clicked. We had an instant rapport and the cockiness helped balance out the sexiness so I wasn't too distracted by my handsome new partner. We mastered bickering in the first two days then it got hot and steamy," Anna told him with a grin.

"I don't want whatever's wrong with me to be permanent, I want to remember us." He can sense what she's talking about. She knows their story, she understands how they got to where they are. As hard as this is on him, she must be struggling too.

"Once you see a doctor they can tell you what's going on but I know you will remember, even if it's just so you can figure out why harbour bells make you smile." Anna bit her lip, she liked teasing him. Even without all his memories, he is still her Robert.

"Oh, now you're using that as motivation?" Robert stood up and started walking towards her.

"Whatever it takes." Anna watched him getting closer then stood up, when he leaned in to kiss her, Anna reached up running her fingers through his hair as the kiss continued.

"This is good motivation. I want to remember me so I can be with you." He kissed her again. They were breathing heavily when the kiss ended. Robert stood straight again, a grin on his face.

"What's that grin for, Scorpio?"

"I am one hell of a lucky guy. My wife is beautiful, she's a badass, she's a one-person rescue party and we set the sheets on fire. That kiss," he grinned again.

"Oh honey, that kiss is nothing compared to the main event." She winked then looked back at the phone book, "Now let me get back to this so we can get out of here and get you fixed up." She needed a distraction.

"Alright, I think I'll go have a shower." They smiled at each other then he turned and left the room. He knew they both needed a little space.

Mac waves at Olin as she pulls away. Robin had told him they were going to do some shopping today. He likes seeing his niece smile again. The other day when the two of them had spent time together Robin had seemed happy afterwards. Being around Olin seems to have a comforting effect on Robin and he was glad.

"Did you get me anything?" he asked as Robin got closer.

"I almost bought you a shirt but I wasn't sure what size you are. Are you heading to The Outback?"

"Yeah, I have a couple of interviews this afternoon but I will be home before seven."

"Alright. I'm gonna take this stuff inside and you don't want to be late. Bye, Uncle Mac." Robin went inside and smiled as Friday came walking over. "Hi Furface, did you have a good day? I did. It was nice hanging out with Olin. The few people that asked me how I was doing, meant well. Now we get the house to ourselves." Robin kept walking right up the stairs and then to her room. She put down her shopping bags then smiled seeing the picture of her parents on her shelf. It had been in the living room at the old house, now it was in her room.

"I think she's found him, don't you? Mom's been gone for a while now and I know she isn't going to stop until she finds him." She picked up the picture, "Look how happy they are here. I just want them home so I can see them smiling like this again."

Robin suddenly put the picture down and looked over at Friday, "You know what I'm going to do? I'm going to make a memory book for them. I'll go through all our pictures and put together something beautiful. When they come home it will be their gift."

This was a wonderful idea and getting to go through pictures would be nice. Maybe she wanted an excuse to go through pictures of her family. Maybe she will feel closer to them. It's something to do with her time that no one will question. Robin didn't care what her motivation was, she simply wanted to make them something special.

It had been three days since she found him. The plan at the moment is to lay low unless they are on the move. As they waited for their flight at a small airport Anna held Robert's arm as she leaned against him. Both were glad no one was bothering them, trying to sell them some souvenirs or asking questions about their travel plans

They were going to be on a small plane with only forty-eight seats. It was a small airline that she honestly didn't think, kept that good of records. Anna's plan was for them to get over to Chile, then from there, they would take a boat up through Panama. She looked up at Robert, please don't let any of this hurt him. Not knowing what his injuries were made her uneasy about him getting on a plane but they needed to get out of Argentina.

"You tell me if you start getting a headache or if you're not feeling well."

"I will. I kind of hope I can just sleep while we're in the air."

"That might be a good idea, you'd be relaxed."

"I'll have my bodyguard watching out for me."

Anna smiled at that, "Yes, you will."

Robert knew he was normally a more take-charge kind of guy. No one needed to tell him that, just because he can't remember things doesn't mean he's changed but for now. Until they are somewhere they both feel a little safer, he knew there was no point arguing with her. He grinned, Anna had told him a few stories about their arguments over the years. The best part of her telling him about the argument that ultimately led to them getting back together was the parts he remembered. Them half-naked, her tying him up. It was really just an image from that night but he knew it must have been quite the night.

Once they were on the plane, Robert did settle in and fall asleep. Anna was grateful for that, he did get tired easily and she didn't want him pushing himself too hard. This part should be easy, no one is looking for Stephen and Roxanne. No one will care if they go on a little cruise along the coast of South America. Even when they make their way through the Caribbean, no one should be looking for them. Anna felt there was less of a chance of being seen at these smaller airfields. Whoever is out there and interested in them, might be able to watch some but not all of them and not regularly. Now that they are out of Argentina Anna suspected they wouldn't be watching small airfields at all.

Anna looked over at Robert, he was still sleeping peacefully. He will need his energy when they get to Osorno, they have a bit of a drive ahead of them and Anna would like to make it to Bahia Mansa before nightfall. They would have a full day to rest before getting on the cruise ship. Anna wasn't looking forward to being on another boat but believed that it might be easier on Robert. She wasn't sure how flying might affect him.

When the flight was almost over Robert started to stir. "Did you get any sleep?" he asked rubbing his face.

Anna looked over and smiled, "No, once we get to Bahia Mansa then I'll get some rest. We can spend another day in bed."

"I like that idea." He leaned in and kissed her cheek. "So, are we worried about any of these passengers?" He knew she hadn't slept because she was on watch.

Anna smiled, "No, I think we got away clean. I believe we can lower our guard some, maybe even enjoy the little cruise we're going on."

"I'm looking forward to it, sort of. Not really that excited to get on a boat but I'll be with you and that makes it more than worth it. Maybe we'll even have a little fun along the way," he said and gave her a wink.

Anna leaned in and kissed him. "I don't want to be on a boat either but getting time alone with you while we get closer to our goal is kind of perfect."

"How close?"

Anna smiled again, "You be good."

It had been close to a week since that scene that led to Holly moving out. There was a much more relaxed vibe in the house now and Robin did seem to be less on edge. Those were good things, the fact the WSB was still here watching them on the other hand, that concerned Mac. He went to talk to Sean at police headquarters. Sean looked up and smiled when Mac knocked and walked in. "What brings you here, kick any lovely ladies out lately?"

"I didn't kick her out. Holly leaving was what Robin needed. She's been less on edge and she isn't snapping at anyone now."

"None of this can be easy on her. Has she mentioned anything about people watching her or have you noticed anyone watching her?" Sean hoped the WSB would leave Robin alone, whatever it is they wanted there is no need for them to involve her.

"Robin hasn't said anything, no. In the evening there's been a few times I've wondered if it was the house or Robin they were watching since they were already there when I'd come home." Mac took a seat, "Do you think either of them would come here if they are alive?"

"I don't know. If one of them came here, wouldn't they ask one of us for help?" Sean wondered.

"That would make sense. They both know we'd help in an instant if they asked."

"Yeah, the WSB knows that too," Sean said as he leaned back in his chair.

"So then, it makes just as much sense to assume they wouldn't come here. If they know the WSB is watching, why would they risk coming here at all?"

"I can think of one reason to come here."

Mac looked up, of course. Would they risk coming here to see Robin? Has someone already been here? "You know the other night, before I asked Holly to move out. While Robin and her were at each other, as Robin stormed out of the room she said something that confused me. She was yelling at Holly and I'm not even sure what Holly had said to get her that worked up but Robin said, 'I don't care what you think, she is going to bring him home.' Then Robin stormed out."

"Did you ask her about that?" Sean asked as he leaned forward again. Now, a lot more intrigued.

"No, I just figured in the heat of the moment she said it backwards."

"That's possible, it's also possible Anna has already been here."

"Anna's alive and still on the run from the WSB?"

"Maybe."

"How do I ask Robin about this? I know neither of us wants to accept they're dead but how do I bring that up. Oh hey sweety, by chance has your mom stopped in for a visit?"

"Well not like that," Sean told him with a grin. "I don't know if you can just casually bring something like that up."

"What do you suggest?" Mac asked, not sure how to handle this situation at all.

"Maybe we should wait a little longer before we bring this up. Let's keep an eye on what's going on. Maybe it's not Anna or Robert they're here looking for."

"Maybe it's not, but it could be," Mac suggested quickly.

"Yeah, it could be. I wish I knew who I could trust at the WBS to be straight with me about this but maybe the agents that would tell me the truth are being kept in the dark for that very reason." Sean felt like all they had were questions.

"So what's going on then? If they aren't waiting for Robby or Anna to show up, what are they doing here?"

"I have no idea." Sean knew the WSB was up to something and it was frustrating him that no one would let it slip what that was. Having to run the PCPD was cutting into the time he could spend looking into that very thing as well. Maybe it was better if no one knew he wanted to know why those agents are here watching them. "Why don't you and Robin come over on the weekend. We'll have dinner together, talk about this a little more then."

"Yeah, alright. Maybe if Robin hears us wondering about some of this stuff she might offer up what she knows, if anything."

"Yeah, we can hope for that. She is also Robert and Anna's daughter and if either of them said don't tell anyone, she isn't telling anyone. Including us."

"You have a very good point." Mac stood back up, "Well, I should get to the club, see you later, Sean."

"See ya." Once he was alone again Sean leaned back in the chair. Are they out there? He wasn't sure if he trusted the evidence the WSB had that apparently proves they had died that night. Mac didn't believe it and doesn't hide that fact. If they are out there, then what does the WSB want with them? Are they still in danger? Are they in hiding? Are they together or is it Anna that's after Robert now? Is that why Robin let that slip? Sean then noticed the file that was still open on his desk. He didn't have time to think about this stuff now he had other cases that needed his attention.

Robert and Anna were getting settled in, in their cabin. This wasn't a luxurious cruise ship, this is actually usually a whale-watching cruise. They joined it for the return trip and should be in Panama in four days and that suited them just fine. No real reason to interact with the other passengers, no stopping at ports of call along the way.

Anna had bought them both some clothes, hoping to look more touristy. She had already decided the gun would get tossed into the ocean somewhere along the way. She had wanted it while she was searching for Robert but knew now it might be more of a problem to have it. She believes they should be able to lay low and not draw attention to themselves so there shouldn't be any need for it, she hoped.

Robert had put his few things away and was now sitting in one of the chairs in the room. "Do we go on a lot of cruises?"

Anna laughed a little at that. "No, none. With my seasickness, this is not my idea of a relaxing vacation idea."

Robert likes that she never wondered why he would ask her things like this. Anna would tell him what he was curious about, which sometimes led to quite the story. Some of the things she had told him about he even seems to remember somewhat. "Didn't we end up washed up on shore somewhere? I can picture us on the shore, whatever it was we had gotten somewhere and you were there. Oh, I needed to kiss you." He smiled seeing her smiling as well.

"That was the day we got married, we were on the run from the DVX. We'd made it to Italy and dragged ourselves to shore. Then we were kissing, I was in your arms and I'm not sure what would have happened next. That's also how we met Filomena." They had talked about her already. Yesterday, while they were in Bahia Mansa they spent the afternoon talking about Robin.

"I can't wait until I can remember this stuff, all of it, the good and the bad."

Anna ran her hand along his shoulder as she walked past him. "You will, hon."

He grabbed her hand and looked up at her. "Thank you. I don't know what I would have done if you hadn't found me."

"I don't even want to think about me not finding you." She leaned down and kissed him on the top of the head. "That was not an option."

"Did you take whatever that stuff you picked up was? It's for seasickness?"

"Yeah, I took it before we boarded and yes it's for seasickness. It's not always terrible but after spending an extended amount of time suffering with it while I was his prisoner, I don't want to have to deal with it for the next few days."

"I don't blame you. I wonder, is there anything I can do to keep your mind off that time?"

Anna bent and wrapped her arms around him, still standing behind his chair. "We get to cuddle, we get to kiss but as long as there is something wrong with your head that's it. Also, I kind of want you to know us as well I know us before." Anna kissed the side of his head.

Robert put his hand on her arm and put his head back so it was beside Anna's. "My sexy tempting cuddle buddy."

"For now, yes."

"I'll take it." Slowly a little grin appeared, "For now." Anna smiled then stood up so she could finish putting her things away.

Robin wasn't dumb and the fact there was someone watching her house had not gone unnoticed. The number of times there had been a need for surveillance or police protection around her, Robin knew how to spot them. She would watch from her window and could see the car parked a little way up the street. One day coming home from school she noticed she was even being followed. She had only noticed it once but had a feeling it had happened more than that.

When they had gone over the Sean and Tiffany's on the weekend her uncles had been talking about being watched, she even got the feeling they were trying to see if she might mention something. They had even brought up a few things about her parents. She got the feeling they were hoping she'd join in on that conversation, maybe let something slip.

Sean and Mac seemed to have come to the same conclusion she had as to why they were being watched though. It had something to do with her parents. They didn't come right out and say it but the WSB had to be who was behind them being under surveillance but Robin knew it was.

As she walked home Robin that afternoon was working out a plan. She wanted to know if she was being followed as well. As she walked Robin couldn't shake the feeling she was being watched. She didn't have to rush home, so decided to test her spy senses, her parents had to have passed something down. Robin wandered down one street then another, someone following her might think she was just out for a walk. They won't know she is leading them somewhere.

Robin smiled to herself when she got to an entrance to the catacombs that Rowdy had shown her. Still feeling like she was being followed, she went in but didn't go far. Just far enough that she could hide and see who was following her. It wasn't long before a woman passed the spot Robin was hiding in.

Robin let her get a little way down the path then stepped out blocking the exit. "What do you want?"

The woman turned around and saw a young woman standing glaring at her. A young woman that looked very much like her mother. She smiled, "Hello, Robin."

"Why are you following me?"

"That is the assignment I was given recently."

"Are you following my uncles as well?"

"No, there are other agents assigned to them."

Robin nodded and stepped a little closer. "Why are you telling me this? Won't you get in trouble?"

"I don't care what the agent in charge here thinks. He's a jerk with a chip on his shoulder. I don't know what he thinks he will prove by treating all of us like we're stupid but all Agent Ross is doing is pissing off the agents here that have all been told this is a simple surveillance assignment."

"I know that name. I think my parents had dealings with him."

"I wouldn't know."

"Who are you and why are you following me?" Robin wanted answers, she wanted to know what the WSB wanted, what they knew.

"My name is Agent Ronda Norris. I can't tell you why we are here."

"I will then. You and all those other WSB agents are here waiting to see if either of my parents comes home. What if they do, are you going to take them away again? What have they done?"

Ronda likes this young woman, she doesn't hold back and gets right to the point. She also doesn't seem to believe her parents are dead. Ronda smiled, "We're wasting our time here I see. She's already been here hasn't she?"

"I don't know what you're talking about," Robin stated, standing her ground. She would not betray her mother.

"I was the agent charged with watching over your mother while she was in our care." Robin's expression didn't change so Ronda added, "After the explosion, after the WSB had told you your parents died."

"Couldn't you lose your job for telling me this?"

"I don't care. If I get fired by the WSB for not agreeing with the way they are treating two former agents, that according to the stories, they have already messed with, then that's fine with me. What is being done is wrong. I hated having to lie to your mother. All she wanted was to see you and know what had happened to your father."

"What happened to my father?"

"The WSB isn't sure. We did have a report of him being in a hospital after the explosion but that's it."

"Why tell us they died?" Robin was skeptical about believing this woman but she did seem willing to talk. Why not find out what she has to say?

"I don't know for sure but I think it's part of the WSB's plan to finally bring in Faison."

"If they hadn't let him get away after my parents handed him over none of this would have happened. The WSB messed up, not my parents, why are they being punished?"

"They aren't. Your mother was being held close by apparently so she could get home quickly when that time came. Your father is missing. We haven't gotten any leads on him since the night of the explosion. He was in a hospital, then he wasn't. I think he went into hiding, maybe he is still searching for your mother. I'm sorry I don't know more, I'm sure he's alright."

"Mom will find him," Robin said, as she took this all in.

"So she was here?"

"Did I say that?"

Ronda grinned, "No, you didn't."

"You said she's alive but now the WSB doesn't know where she is. It's because she's gone looking for my father." Robin knew she couldn't confirm anything to this woman. Sure she says she doesn't like who's in charge but her job is still to report her findings and it coil be a trick.

Ronda smiled, this young woman was very smart and seems to have picked up a lot from her parents over time. "I won't mention this meeting to anyone. I'm annoyed that I'm even here in Port Charles."

"Why's that?"

"I've been an agent for twelve years. I was almost killed on assignment last year. I was assigned to the Crows Nest because watching people that want to be protected was something I could do without aspirating the injuries I am still recuperating from. Sitting in a damn car all day is killing me."

"The WSB really doesn't care what they put their agents through, do they? Mom and Dad aren't even active agents but the WSB always seems to be a part of our life."

"I only knew your mom for a little while but if she has gone after your father, she will not stop until she finds him."

"I know."

"I won't tell anyone about this little meeting. I followed you to the mall and you hung out with some friends is what I'll put in my report. I would be in trouble for talking to you anyway. Ross wouldn't care that you got the drop on me, only that I didn't follow orders."

Robin smiled proudly, she had gotten the drop on a WSB agent. She had led her away from her house then got her to spill the beans about what was happening.

"Your parents would be proud," Ronda added, seeing her smile. "Now we should get out of here. What is this place anyway?"

"The catacombs, they run under the city. You can search it if you want. It would take quite some time but you wouldn't be stuck in a car all day."

"I just might do that," then Ronda smiled. "You should get home, you don't want your uncle worrying about you."

Robin checked the time, "Yeah, I should. I won't tell anyone about this either." Then Robin turned and was quickly out of sight.
