Chapter 25

Anna was pacing their hotel room. It was Thursday evening and it had been close to twenty-four hours since they had expected to hear from Sean and still nothing. It wasn't like they were waiting for a big update but the lack of a call at all had them both a little concerned. Anna would have liked to know if he had found anything out about her family but she knew there would be answers about that before long.

She let out a sigh, then asked, "Why haven't they called?"

"I don't know, Sean is commissioner he could just be busy with his actual job."

Anna looked over, she knew he had a point but his little grin irked her. "Ha."

"Hey, I get it. You are right something could be up and maybe the danger is about to get real. Then again, he might just be busy. It does us no good to stress about the fact he hasn't called yet."

Anna folded her arms across her chest, "I hate when you're right." The grinnned a little as she turned to pace again.

Robert laughed and turned back to the book he was reading. It wasn't that he wasn't worried about this. He just knew there was nothing they could do right now. They can't risk being seen, they aren't going to go looking for Faison and then there's the twin sister twist to deal with. If he let himself get worked up over thinking about all of this Robert worried it could make Anna stress more but he also was a little worried it could be dangerous for his recovery. He is still healing and would still get the occasional headache and didn't want to make that worse if he could help it.

Anna came over and wrapped her arms around his shoulders. Leaning in close, "I have a dilemma. I think we should go down to the pool and enjoy ourselves but I don't want to miss the call so I don't want to leave the room. I have too much pent-up energy."

"There is a good cure for that and we could do it here in the room."

"Oh really?"

"Yeah, and we're really good at it," Robert said with a big grin.

Anna started to laugh then kissed his neck and stood up straight again. "I like how you're thinking but we would still miss the call if that was how we were passing the time."

"I don't see the problem," he said still grinning as he turned to look up at her. "We were still making up for the thirteen years we wasted. Now there were another six months that were wasted."

"Since you got your memory back, I feel like we have been doing an amazing job of making up for all the lost time. We've been cooped up too long, if we pass our days in the pool our night will be for us."

"Mmm, I like this idea. I'll get to see you in sexy swimsuits then we come back here. This is like a bonus honeymoon, with danger thrown in to make it truly ours."

"Ahh, look at you being all romantic," she said with a little laugh. She kissed him then stood up straight and turned. "You better get ready then, Scorpio." Then she vanished into the bathroom.

Robin wasn't sure where they had ended up the night before. Once they had gotten to Ronda's car she just started driving. Robin knew they had left Port Charles immediately, then just started driving. Ronda had explained that they were going to zigzag through some of the different towns they passed in case they were being followed. When they had stopped for a late dinner, Robin made sure to call Mac. She explained what had happened, that she was with Ronda and safe. Ronda talked to him as well, she told him why she felt getting Robin out of Port Charles was the best choice at the moment and he agreed.

Robin was now laying on a motel bed staring at the ceiling. She had gotten a little bit of sleep the night before but now she couldn't stop the thoughts running through her head. If Faison is alive and in Port Charles, she knew there was only one reason for that. He had come there for her. Faison is going to try and find her mother and he wanted to be able to have Robin there waiting for her. Effectively forcing her mother to go with him. Robin would be like some twisted gift, to prove his love. Again, she felt ill just thinking the situation. Faison's is an obsession that has already torn apart her parents once before. That will not happen this time. Her parents are together and they are going to be ready if that vile man tries anything.

A short time later, when Ronda entered the room through the door to the adjoining room, Robin sat up. As soon as she smelt the food Robin realized how hungry she was.

"Hey, I found a little diner and everything there smelt great. I hope you're hungry." Then Ronda put the bag down on the table and started pulling out their dinner.

Robin got up and walked over. "So where are we?" she asked as she sat at the table. Neither of them had ventured further than the vending machine until Ronda went to get some real food to eat.

"We are apparently in a little town called Finger Lakes."

"What?" She looked up quickly, Robin couldn't hide the surprise or the little laugh in her voice.

Ronda looked up as well, unsure of Robin's reaction. "Is that a problem?"

"No, I think it's a sign. Last spring my parents got engaged on their way back to Port Charles from Finger Lakes. They were with my Uncle Mac. He and my dad were both wanted at the time. It was a whole big thing, Scorpios being framed or set up and charges that never should have been charges, but they came back and proved they were innocent and along the way, Dad just had to ask Mom to marry him."

Ronda smiled, Robin actually did seem glad they were here and she could feel Robin's happiness just from talking about her family. "Well, you'll have to tell me more about that and I think this is just the place to do it. Since we'll need to stay here for a while." They grinned at each other then Ronda said, "You know we can't contact anyone for a couple of days, right?"

"Yeah, we need to lay low and you would have a designated time to contact the WSB in the event something like this did happen. Don't worry, I get it."

"You're like a mini agent. You might not have the training but you understand how things have to work when the chips are down."

"Well, I have been in danger a few times and this isn't the first time they've had to play dead. I know things a kid my age shouldn't but I have to because of who my family is and I wouldn't change them."

Ronda looked up, the honesty in her statement clear by the look in her eyes. "Who were you walking with yesterday?" If they kept talking about her parents Ronda was worried it would upset Robin.

"My friend Lisa. I spent the afternoon with a couple of friends. It was nice to feel normal again. I guess it will be a while before that gets to happen again."

"I think this is all going to come to a head soon. People are moving into position for something and hopefully, that means this will all be over."

"I hope so. All I want is to see my parents and for them to finally be able to come home. I miss my Mom and Dad."

"I know. All your mother wanted was to get home to you. The entire time I was watching her, that was what she wanted. She wanted to see you and she wanted to know what had happened to your father."

"Yeah, when she stopped to see me before going after him she told me that," Robin admitted with a little grin. She had not confirmed that Anna had come to see her until now.

Ronda looked up and smiled hearing that, "I knew she would come to see you and I bet she didn't stay long either."

"No, she did not. There was something she needed to do." Robin hadn't confirmed Anna had gone after her father before this either.

"Yes, she did. I knew Agent Ross was wasting all our time waiting for her to come to Port Charles. There was a mission and no time to waste."

With a smile on her face, Robin sat quietly for a moment while she thought about how she felt that day. "I got home and usually Friday meets me right away but he didn't. Friday's our dog. I remember walking up to my room and there they were my mom and dad's dog sitting on my bed. I was in shock, I stepped into my room and then I was in her arms. She was there and alive and started talking about going after Daddy. She was really there and holding me. Then I had to wait, I didn't even know how I was going to find out but I knew it was only a matter of time. The first time I heard their voices on the phone. Knowing they are both alive and together, is so wonderful." Then she sighed, "Now we have to outwit Faison again so they can come home."

"You've had dealings with him, correct? When he was in Port Charles before." Ronda knew about some of what had happened when Cesar Faison turned up alive after all that time.

"Yeah, he was trying to get close to me. I guess it was actually so he could get close to my mom. That was when the world believed he was the author, P.K. Sinclair. He let me believe he wanted to help me write better but I know now all he wanted was a way into my mom's life. After he took her, Faison tried taking me too."

"Then it is a very good thing that we got you out of there yesterday. I won't let anything happen to you. I think I owe your mother that much."

"She understands you were just doing your job."

Ronda raised an eyebrow, "She told you that?"

"No, that's just who she is," Robin said, then turned her attention to her food. The thoughts now running through her head distracted her. If Faison is on the move then that means with any luck this should be coming to an end soon. That should mean her parents will be coming home sooner rather than later.

When Mac found out that Ronda had suddenly whisked Robin out of Port Charles he immediately knew it was because of Faison. There wasn't a question in his mind about it. Faison was the reason for them having to go into hiding. When Mac had told Sean, he'd even said as much. Ross had left, and now Faison was on the move, this is about to go down. Unfortunately, they were all heading north up the east coast and right towards Robert and Anna.

When they talk to them again they will have to warn them. The plan is in motion and the players are getting ready, moving into position to make their next moves. Sean had insisted they couldn't contact Robert and Anna until after they had heard from Ronda and Robin. There was no need to worry them yet, so for now, they wait.

It was late last night when Robin and Ronda had called but now Sean had told Mac they should wait a little longer because he was waiting to hear from contacts in the WSB. Sean had told Mac that there were a few agents he talked to recently that had mentioned Colin Ross has come up with a suicide mission. That confirmed what Ronda had told them. Ross is planning a confrontation with Faison.

Sean wanted a little more information before calling them. The last thing he wanted was to give Anna anything else to worry about. Mac knocked on the penthouse door and smiled when Tiffany answered. "Hi, Tiff. Is Sean home?"

"Yeah, he's hidden away but he's here."

"Good, I need to talk to him." Mac started to walk in but Tiffany didn't move.

"What are the two of you working on? Sean, won't tell me but you two are clearly working on something together."

"I don't know if I can tell you but maybe it's time we ask Sean if he thinks we can yet." The look on Tiffany's face told Mac he had better figure that out quickly. "Let's go talk to your husband."

Tiffany turned and lead Mac to Sean's office. "Your little friend is here and he thinks you should tell me what you're working on."

Sean turned and looked up to see Tiffany standing with her arms folded and Mac just behind her with a confused look on his face. "I think it's time we tell her. With what just happened," Mac said with a shrug.

Sean stood up, "You're gonna want to sit down for this."

"No! Tell me what you two are up to!"

Sean sighed, "We are trying to help our friends come home."

That did nothing to settle her. "What are you talking about? Who are you talking about?"

Sean stepped a little close, putting his hands on his wife's arms. "We are helping Robert and Anna."

"What?" Tiff's knees went weak. "Robert and Anna?" She put her hand on Sean's shoulder to steady herself. "They're alive?"

"Come sit," Sean said as he turned her toward his chair. "Yes, they are both alive. Anna is fine, Robin has seen her. She was who found Robert. He is suffering from memory loss but has already had the surgery he needed."

"So why aren't they here? Why can't they come home?"

"That's a long story." Sean then explained what they knew about what both Anna and Robert had been through and what they are dealing with now. "We believe this doctor is the bait and with both Ross and Faison on the move, they need to be on their toes. We were about to call them, now we also have to tell them that Robin is on the run."

"What? Robin ran away! Why? She didn't go after them did she?"

"No, we believe Faison stopped here. He could still be in the area, actually. There is a WSB agent that has been helping us and she got Robin out of Port Charles. We know where they are but for now, we all feel it's best if Robin stays away."

"What are we waiting for, let's call them. I will also be talking to Anna by myself, she needs a friend. Don't start you're all men, she needs to talk to a girlfriend."

Sean smiled, "I think you're right. We'll get the update out of the way first." Then he leaned forward and picked up the phone. When it was answered, he put it on speaker phone. "Hello, Scorpios."

"What's going on? Why didn't you call yesterday?" Anna immediately asked.

"There have been some developments," Sean told them, trying to sound calm.

"What do you mean?" Robert asked this time.

"You are alive!" Tiffany said as she grabbed Sean's arm.

"Tiff, what are you doing there? Oh, this is wonderful." Anna smiled up at Robert hearing their friend's voice.

"Sean and Mac just filled me in and we are talking alone when they are all done with the update. You will have to let us talk alone Robert. These two already know they don't get to stick around."

"That's fine by me." Robert tighten his arms around Anna as she leaned against him. They both knew how much she could use a friend to unload on right now.

Anna grinned, "Well then Sean, you better tell us what happened so Tiffany and I can get to our girl talk."

"All the players are on the move and heading your way. I don't know when this is going to happen but you better be on your toes." Sean looked up at Mac, then added, "There is another matter that we need to discuss."

"What's that?" Robert asked. He knew that tone in Sean's voice, this wasn't going to be good news.

Sean knew he had to just tell them. "We didn't call yesterday because Robin has gone into hiding. We know who she's with and that she is safe. She's with Ronda and they are fine. Faison was spotted here and Ronda acted, she's who was there and got Robin out of Port Charles. She had a friend of Robin's contact Mac as soon as it happened and they called him late last night."

"I have talked to Robin, she's fine. "She told me she had kind of felt like she was being followed shortly before Ronda appeared and Ronda is who told me she believes the man she had seen was Faison."

Anna gasped and grabbed one of Robert's hands when she heard Robin was in hiding. She knew why before they mentioned Faison's name. "She's safe though, right? Our little girl is alright?"

"Anna, she is fine," Mac reaffirmed. "She told me to tell you both she loves you and that she is in good hands."

"What's happening there? Any problems?" Sean asked.

"No. we meet with Alex and she understands she could be in danger. I just don't know if she understands how dangerous this situation truly is," Robert told them. "For now she is going about her life as she normally would but we will have to warn her that Faison is headed our way."

They talked a little longer about what had happened over the last few days then Tiffany spoke up. "Alright boys, I think it's time Anna and I got to talk."

"Yeah, I think Mac and I have covered what we needed to." They said goodbye then Sean gave Tiffany a kiss on the cheek as he took the call off speaker.

Anna turned in Robert's arms a little. "That means you too, mister."

"I know, I'll go down to the restaurant. When you're all done come find me, we'll eat there this evening."

"Alright, thanks, hun." Robert leaned in and kissed her tenderly then turned and walked away. Anna was grinning as she watched him walk away. "Alright, we're alone," Anna said as Robert opened the door to leave.

"This is so amazing, Anna. I only found out today. I am so excited that you are both alive."

Anna smiled, "It is really good to hear your voice, Tiff."

"How are you holding up? Sean filled me in on what you've been going through." Tiff took a sit in Sean's chair again, she knew this was going to be a long chat.

"Now that Robert does have some of his back it's better. I think we spent close to a month together before he got treatment. It was after that that there was a real improvement so it was hard at first. He knew me and remembered a few things and trusted me completely so it was good but it was so hard at the same time. It was him but it wasn't. He understood and has been so wonderful. One day he even told me he was falling in love with me all over again even though he knew I am the woman he loves."

"Aww, that is so sweet."

"Yeah, that was on the day we took for ourselves along the way. A day relaxing in the sun, playing in the water together followed up with a wonderful dinner and dancing to a Caribbean band."

"That sounds very romantic even if you were on the run at the time," Tiffany said with a grin. "The treatment he got worked, correct?"

"The surgery fixed what it was meant to, yes. Now there's been healing and slowly his memory started to come back but not as much as the doctor was hoping for. That was why he had to meet with different doctors and how we met my twin."

"Sean told me about her, I thought you didn't know that for sure. How wild is that?"

"It's crazy but I feel like it's just another crazy part of my life," Anna told her with a little laugh. "Alex is running a DNA test for us and we should know before long but Tiffany if you saw her. If you saw the two of us together," she let out a sigh. "She's my sister, I just know that is the truth. Robert has said the same thing, Alex has to be my sister and she was the one that suggested doing the DNA test so we would know for sure. Even she's convinced we are twins"

"With everything you are dealing with, a surprise twin was not needed." They both laughed then Tiffany asked. "How are you doing, Anna? I mean, really doing Darling."

"If I didn't have Robert here with me, I don't know but I have him now. He has always been him but now with more memories, he is my husband and we are in this together. I wouldn't want to be in this situation with anyone other than him but it is so good to be talking to you."

"The two of you have been working so hard to get back to each other since Faison took you. Anna, I have always known you are a fighter but I can't imagine how hard this all has been on you."

"It is a lot better now. The night he let me know he had remembered us, our story, our history." Anna smiled to herself as she thought back to that night. "He had waited until he had talked to the doctor and that was the night I knew I had my Robert back. Since then this has been a much more enjoyable extended leave of absence," Anna said with a laugh.

They talked for another half hour. Tiff told her all about what's been going on in Port Charles. Anna told her a lot more about what she has been through. By the time they hung up Anna felt great. Chatting with a close friend was exactly the medicine her soul needed. Anna had a big smile on her face as she fixed her hair and touched up her makeup. They didn't know what was coming or when the danger would get there so tonight she wanted them to enjoy themselves. This will be a romantic evening before they have to face their next challenge.
