Chapter 33

Robert moved about the cabin impatiently, Anna sat with Alex playing cards. Once in a while she would glance up at him but knew until Mac got here Robert wouldn't relax.

"Is his brother as intense?" Alex asked quietly.

"No, from what I have seen Mac is more relaxed but I wouldn't want to test either one and see how they react. There was more pressure put on Robert, their parents wanted him to follow in his father's footsteps and Mac always felt like he had to get their father's attention." Anna thought about that for a moment then continued. "Losing their parents the way they did caused a rift for a long time. Mac just reentered Robert's life last spring, that was when I found out there was a brother. Let me tell you seeing Robert throw a man back into the freezing water was so out of character I couldn't understand what I had just seen."

"I didn't know what to do. I wanted nothing to do with him. I still blamed him." Robert was now standing behind Anna's chair. He put his hand on her shoulder, "Anna made me talk about that time and my feelings. If she hadn't I'm not sure I would have let Mac back in. The fact he saved my life did help with that."

Alex grinned, she had heard about their time in Finger Lakes and what had happened there and after. The fact Robert was so close to his old self made her happy. Their time working on his memory had really helped them both. He did the work and Robert now felt he had most of his memory back. It had also given Alex great insight into her sister's family. The man she loves and that loves her. She compared this experience to deep immersion therapy, the amount she has learned about Robert and Anna in this short time. The things she has shared about her life doesn't even compare to their joined life experiences.

Alex looked up from her thoughts when there was a knock at the door. Two short wrapped then two knocks with a pause between both. Robert was already moving towards the door. After a quick glance to ensure it was Mac, he opened the door. "Hey." The smile on his face matched his brother's.

Mac stepped inside and the door was quickly closed. "Look at you. What is this look? Are you a grunge singer now?" The shaggy blonde wig and goatee with the plaid bush jacket his brother was wearing gave Mac a good laugh.

"I'm not sure I even know what that is. Shut up, come here." Robert pulled Mac into a hug.

"I have missed you. I knew you weren't dead. I never accepted that." There were tears in his eyes but Mac didn't care. This is the first time he had seen his brother since the beginning of the year.

Anna had walked over to them. "Hi, Mac."

Even with the blonde wig on he knew that was his sister-in-law. He let Robert go, "Anna, it is so good to see you too." They hugged each other tightly.

"I've missed you." Anna leaned back and put her hands on Mac's cheeks. "There's someone you should meet." Then she gave him a quick little kiss and turned. Linking her arm in his Anna lead him over to the table. "This is Alex, my twin sister."

"Ignore the red hair, her hair is the same colour as Annie's just a different style."

Alex stood, laughing at Robert's comment. "Hi, so you're my brother-in-law?"

"I guess so. Hi, I'm Malcome Scorpio, Mac is fine." He held out his hand.

"Alexandra Devane, but Alex is good." She pulled on his hand the went in for a hug. Mac smiled and hugged her back. "I hear secret siblings is a thing in this family. I'm glad we already have something in common."

Mac smiled then leaned back, "I am too." Already he knew he was going to like her.

There were a few bags of groceries to bring in then they got to spend the day together. Mac knew he was going to have a hard time not looking like he is over the moon when he goes back to Port Charles.

Robin knew she was going to be alone all afternoon. Mac had said there was an earn he had to run that would take him out of the city. She was certain that meant he was going to see her parents. Robin might not know where they are now but knew they had moved into position for the next part of the plan.

Since it was a nice day she decided to do what Sean had told her was a good idea. Taking Friday for more walks, especially through the Asian Quarters. Robin thought it was silly how specific he had been about that part but it worked out nicely. The few other times she had done this, Robin ended up over at Olin's and spend time visiting with her and her family.

As she grabbed the leash Friday jumped up from his bed, excited already. "That's right Furface, we're going for a walk. I wonder what kind of treats Olin will have for us today?" She attached his leash then out the door they went. Robin was happy that she got to feel normal again. That it felt like her life was now going in the right direction again. Smiling happily she led Friday off in the direction of the Asian Quarter.

Three days had passed since Mac had come out to visit them at the cabin. Even though they were all in good moods it was time for the next part of this plan to happen. All Alex knew was they were waiting for the signal. What was that? Where would it come from and what did it mean?

There was an uneasy energy about them. Robert and Anna needed to be doing something but knew they had to wait. It was shortly after eleven when their phone rang. Robert quickly answered it. "Hello."

"It's time." Then the line went dead.

Robert let out a slow breath, then looked at Anna. "Time to move."

"I'll get the bags. Alex, just take clothing, it's time to move," Anna ordered as she turned and went into the bedroom. Alex didn't ask any questions, she just did as she was told and went to pack her things.

Robert then dialled the phone and waited. "Sean, it's in play. Two hours."

"On it." The call ended as fast as the last one. Robert put down the phone, then started on making lunch. They had time before the rendezvous and there was no telling when they would be settled in again and able to eat if things didn't go as planned.

After they had eaten Robert put their small bags in the car, then drove them a few miles from the cabin. They did not drive off in a hurry, it was the exact opposite, they appeared to be out for an afternoon drive.

As Robert started to slow down, Anna turned to Alex. "Alright take off that wig and put this one on. Leave that one in the car." Anna passed Alex a blonde wig and she did as asked.

When Robert parked and got out then grabbed the bags Alex asked, "What's going on?"

"We can't stay at the cabin any longer so it's time to move. Don't worry this is one step closer to the finish line," Anna assured her as she got out of the car. Alex trusted their plan so got out and followed them as they walked off into the woods.

After walking for ten minutes they stopped and found a place to settle in to wait. To Alex's amazement, they had found a place they could actually see their car from and she was confident they were out of sight. Shaking her head, Alex smiled to herself. Of course, all those walks around the cabin had been serving a purpose, they had been doing recon work for this part of the plan. Nit just looking out for anyone in the area looking for them.

Excitedly moving around her Brownstone apartment, Felicia gathered the few things she knew she would need. This call was all she had been waiting for for over a week now. Frisco hadn't explained why they needed to meet like this but at least she'd had time to get Mariah to Port Charles to watch Maxie while she is out of town. Being the wife of a WSB agent is a lot more challenging than being a cops wife's. Felicia didn't care though she loves him and just wants some time with him.

Ten minutes later there was a knock at her door. Felicia went to answer it and found Sam Wells standing there. "Sam, this isn't a great time. I'm on my way out actually."

"Well since I'm part of what Frisco has planned I kind of am needed." Sam wasn't completely clear about what was going on but knew she would be working with Frisco for a case Sean has. Was it another PCPD WSB collaboration like in the days before Robert and Anna died? Maybe, it didn't really matter. Frisco and Sean had asked her to work on this and that was why she was here.

"Oh?"

"Yeah, I'm your ride and unfortunately I will have to be a third wheel some of the time."

"I don't want to know. Sean told me this was how I could spend some time with Frisco so I'll do whatever you say." Felicia couldn't stop smiling, the time apart was hard on their relationship but the love they have isn't something she wants to let slip away. Felicia grabbed her bag, "Let's go."

Sam smiled and turned, walking back out the door. "This is going to be fun. I haven't been to Atlantic City in a few years," Sam said as they started down the hall.

"I was there a while ago but don't really remember it," Felicia said and they both laughed. Even as they went on about what they were going to do once they got to Atlantic City, Felicia knew that was not where they were going. This is so if anyone asks, that will be the line about where Felicia is. She didn't know why these steps were needed but if Frisco was in danger and this is the only safe way to see him then she will do what is needed.

As they were leaving Felicia talked to Bobbie for a few minutes and the story of a girls' trip was solidified. They walked over to a car that Felicia knew was neither Sam's nor a police car. "Who's car are we taking?"

"This is the one that was provided for this part of our trip." Sam looked over and shrugged. Felicia understood what that meant, even if she knew she isn't saying a thing.

"Wow, Sam. Have you been studying spy movies?" Felicia asked with a laugh.

Sam seemed to relax a little and laughed as well. "I am a little nervous," she admitted, "and all I know is we are to drive to a designated spot and there will be a vehicle there for the next part of the trip. I didn't mean to sound so cloak and dagger, sorry. Let's get going."

They got in and started driving. Sam even turned the radio up once they were on the highway. For the time being it felt like they really were on a little road trip. After about forty-five minutes Sam slowed and pulled into a gas station. They both got out, "Do we have a long way to go yet?" Felicia asked.

"Actually, we are almost there. I just have to deliver the car with a full tank. Don't ask, let's just grab some snacks. We might not hit a store for a while."

"Alright. Snacks are definitely needed." They walked inside and within ten minutes they were back on the road. It wasn't long before they turned off the main road and turned onto a dirt road. It was a scenic area with a few cabins set back in the trees. What a beautiful area to spend some time in, Felicia thought as they drove.

She had no idea how long they had been driving when she saw a car parked on the side of the road. Sam slowed but went by the car, looking around as she did. They then went up the road a little way and turned around. When they came back they pulled up behind the parked car. Sam looked over at Felicia, "This is where we get out."

"If you say so." They got their bags and walked over to the other car. They quickly got in and the first thing Sam did was grab a wig from the back seat and put it on. "Two blondes will drive out of here but there also has to be a blonde and a redhead that go back to where we are headed."

Felicia grinned as she watched Sam adjust her wig. "Even if you don't mean it that way, because this is all cloak and dagger everything you tell me comes off that way."

Sam grinned. "Sorry about that, but it really is that this is all I know." Sam finished fluffing up her hair. "Look alright?" Felicia nodded. "I knew there would be a wig waiting for me to put on and that I have to wear it whenever I go out for the entire time we are up here. Don't ask why because I don't know that."

"Oh, so we are staying in the area?" Felicia looked around a little more, it is a scenic area.

"Yeah, there's a cabin a few miles from here that we are going to. That's where you want to get to. We are going to take the long way there so we'll get to see the natural beauty on the way."

Felicia smiled, "That's all I needed to hear." Once they were settled in they drove off in the direction they had come from.

From their viewpoint, there was a little movement. "Was that Sam with Felicia?" Anna finally asked. "Who all is involved?"

"Sean told me he set something up for his princess so she can have some time alone with her prince. I believe the lookout is a trusted friend with the required training that Sean could assign to this kind of thing without a lot of questions."

"So even you don't know the entire plan?" Alex asked.

"I know that before the sun goes down there will be three people in that cabin we just came from, all of which will closely fit the description of the people that until about an hour were staying there."

"Mac was right, you were trying to pull off some singer's look. Is that what Frisco's cover is at the moment?"

"I don't know but I'm glad it's Frisco and Felicia Sean brought into this. I'm fine with Sam being involved as well."

"Ya, me too. She wouldn't have asked a lot of questions if she knew enough about who she was helping. She'd be loyal to Frisco, they have been a great team ever since they were rookies working for me."

"So that was two women are people you trust that are more than likely helping you and don't even know that?" Alex was pretty sure she was starting to understand how they thought some of the time.

"Sean would have told them something as to why there is a need for the secrecy and steps to stay hidden. Frisco is an active WSB agent, there might be an actual reason he needs to keep his visit on the down low." Robert explained.

"Alright." Alex nodded as she thought about that. Frisco and Felica are your friends. This Sam, do I know who she is?"

"She is a police officer. She has worked for both of us and went through basic training with Frisco," Anna continued to explain.

"And they are now replacing us at the cabin. That's because someone suspects we are here. So your plan is working." Alex felt a flash of excitement go through her.

"It appears that way," Robert said with a confident grin as he stood up. They had watched the car leave now after twenty minutes no one had come looking for the other car. No one had been by since Felicia and Sam had left. If they had been followed and were waiting somewhere for them to return then they have waited long enough. It will appear the two ladies drove up to one of the cabin's picked someone up and were now heading back to Port Charles. Robert doubted they had been followed but they all knew there was no need to take chances. There is plenty of time to be cautious.

"We better get out of here. If we don't check in within two hours the warning bells will go off." Anna then stood up, and Alex followed suit. As they walked down to the car Anna put her hair up like Sam often wears hers. At a glance, they would pass for the two ladies that had passed through town earlier that day and that was all they needed.

"Anna, I guess you're driving. I'll stretch out in the back seat."

The excitement Alex felt as it all started to click together what was happening was exhilarating. They are sneaking back into Port Charles today. Them talking about the team and when the time came it would all come together hadn't made sense until she saw it in motion. Now she was caught up in the rush of it playing out. Whatever was coming next, Alex knew this was when they start to set the trap for Faison.

It wasn't all that long before they saw the skyline of Port Charles ahead of them. "It's been a long time but it is good to be home," Robert said from the back seat. He leaned forward and touched Anna's shoulder

"I just want to get to our safe house and then I want someone to bring us something from Kelly's"

"Oh, I like how you're thinking." Robert instantly felt hungry thinking about getting something from Kelly's.

"We can introduce Alex to Kelly's food before we have to separate," Anna suggested.

"It only seems fair, you've had to listen to us go on about how much we are looking forward to a BLT or Kelly's chilli. Oh, do I want some chilli?"

Alex chucked at him, then turned more to Anna. "And you're sure this is for the best? That I need to be away from you to stay safe?"

"You are going to be somewhere safe, close to family and easy to get information to. The apartment above Mac's club is empty at the moment so no one will notice if you are up there. Besides, this way Mac and Robin can even visit you while you stay far away from what will be going on."

"I'm fine with staying hidden. One run-in with Faison is more than enough for me."

Robert was grateful Alex was not putting up a fight about their plan. When they got to the car rental place out by the airport Anna gave the interior a quick wipe-down as Robert got their bags. "Call a cab, I'll drop off the keys and be right back." Robert then hurried off towards the small office on the lot.

A short time later Anna gave the cab driver the address of an apartment building in the Asian Quarter as they got in. After they were all settled in they remained silent for the ride. Anna only spoke again when she paid the driver before they left. Tired and quiet passengers, there was no need to make them a memorable group for the driver to recall later.

Anna took Robert's hand and squeezed it. They are back, they are in Port Charles again and they are together. The three of them walked up to the apartment and after buzzing up they were let in right away. As they walked through the lobby a woman walked over to them and smiled. "Follow me."
