Chapter 34
There was no one using Serenity, and that suited Faison perfectly. The staff there now were all temporary and were told it was business associates of the late Leopold Tubbs using it while in the area on business. Faison sat at the large antic desk, looking over the papers in front of him. Finally, something of interest had been brought to him. Sean Donely and Malcome Scorpio were up to something. They were keeping three people in a cabin not far from Port Charles. Why? Who were they? Were they connected to what had happened in Halifax?
Once his people have done their job and locate which cabin the brother rented, and report who is staying there, then Faison will be able to relax a little. For now, he wanted answers. Anna Devane was alive, he was certain of it. After this long, it only made sense she would want to get home to her daughter. Donely and the brother would want to help her do just that.
Anna Devane does not belong in a place like Port Charles. She needs to roam, she needs to be seen and admired. She should be with him in all the finest places. P.K. Sinclare with his lady love and inspiration for his heroine on his arm. Leaning back in the chair he let his mind wander as he thought about how he wanted it to be. How it will be once Anna is back with him. Faison was getting close again, it won't be long before he would have her by his side.
…
It was already evening and still Frisco had not arrived at the cabin. Felicia was looking around the cabin, not able to really settle down. "This is quite nice."
"I'm not going to complain about having to stay out here, that's for sure," Sam agreed as she got more comfortable on the couch. They had already eaten and were mostly settled in. "This wig might get a little annoying but I can handle that." Sam played with the hair hanging by her cheek.
"So what happens now?"
Looking up she asked, "What do you mean?"
Felicia walked over and joined Sam. "What happens next? How or when does Frisco get here?"
"That is not part of what I was told. All I needed to know was how to get here and what I had to do along the way."
"Oh, okay." Felicia looked around the room onc4 more. She understood all too well that sometimes the lack of information is a form of protection. "So who do you think was staying here that we replaced?" It had been cleaned up but they both just knew someone else had just left here today.
Sam smiled as she thought about that for a moment. "I don't know. Maybe a witness or someone under protection."
"Oh, that would be interesting. Some important witness for a big case the WSB is working on."
"Maybe that could be it. Do you think Sean would be involved?"
"He's still connected and if Frisco asked for a favour I could see him helping," Felicia answered confidently.
Sam nodded, "I could see that."
A knock at the door made them both jump. Felicia grinned and stood up, she walked over and opened the door slowly. There grinning back at her was her scruffy but sexy husband. Grinning from ear to ear, "Hi."
Frisco stepped inside and pulled Felicia into his arms. "It is so good to see you." Then he kissed her, passionately. When the longing started to build they both pulled back a little.
"That will have to wait until later," Felicia grinned up at him. "I have missed you." She put her arms around him and then just held him tight.
"I missed you too. I miss Maxie but I'll get to visit everyone when this is all over." Holding her he breathed in the scent of her hair, this is what has been missing.
"You're getting some time off?"
"Yeah, I'm actually off now but I'm doing this for friends." He put his hand on her lower back then they turned, "Hi, Sam. Thanks for bringing Felicia get out here. Also, the people that we're helping by being out here say thank you too. Well all of us."
"Hello, Frisco." There was a grin on her face as well, it was so nice seeing them look so happy.
"Are you going to tell us who we are helping or why we have to stay in hiding while we're here?"
"Once this is over you will know who we are helping. As for staying in hiding, one, they were. Two, we don't really want to mess with the people that are after the people we are helping."
"I'm so glad you cleared that up for us," Sam said sarcastically and she and Felicia shared a laugh.
"We can talk about that later, I would love to eat something and catch up with both of you a bit. Then I want to take my beautiful wife to bed. We can talk more about what's going on and what our part in all of it is tomorrow."
Felicia smiled at him, "I think that sounds perfect." Sam smiled and nodded in agreement.
…
In silence, four people walked up two flights of stairs and then turned down a hall. They stopped at the first apartment on their immediate right and after a quick look around they all went inside. The door closed and locked behind them as soon as they were all inside.
Once the door was locked Olin turned and grabbed Robert. "Commish, it is so good to see you. I know Anna would find you. I never doubted it. This is so cool. The Scorpios are back and now we stop that man once and for all."
Robert gave her a hug. "It's good to see you too, Olin." He had missed her more than he realized. This is home, they've made it back to Port Charles. It wasn't easy but it was worth the effort. Now they just need to stop Fiason once and for all and finally go back to their home and to Robin.
With her arms still around Robert's waist, Olin turned towards Anna. "And you, the big A showing up again with a twin. Radical."
A big smile instantly formed on Anna's face. "I know it's wild."
"When you said you were going to bring home Robert I never doubted you'd do it." Olin then walked over and took Anna's hands. "Is everything A okay?" she asked quietly.
Speaking softly Anna answered. "It is now. We got him the medical attention he needed and he has had time to heal properly. When I found him, Robert's memory was basically gone." Olin could see the sadness in Anna's eyes as she told her that part.
"It's a good thing you tracked him down like you did. Now back here. Robin will be so happy."
"I know. I feel like this is almost over then we can all be together again." They walked further into the apartment, all of them looking around the small space. There was a couch and a small TV, a table with three chairs but not much else. It wasn't the prettiest of places but as a hideout it was perfect.
After a moment Alex turned to the others who were catching up. "If I'm not staying here, when do I go to my hiding place?"
"Oh, Sean told me to take you over to the club after these two have settled in. I was gonna wait around a little longer, then take you," Olin explained. "You and me can gab while we drive, okay?"
"What's the real reason you're waiting?" Robert asked with a knowing look.
"I'm not telling." Olin smiled happily. It warmed her heart seeing them, knowing what was going to happen soon.
As if on cue, there was a knock at the door. Olin went to answer it before anyone could say anything. With the chain still in place she opened it and a furry nose poked through. Anna gasped and covered her mouth. Robert took a step forward.
"Hi, I was told you were up here."
"Hey. kiddo. Give me a sec and I'll let you in." Olin closed the door enough to take the chain off, as she did Anna stepped up beside Robert and he took her hand. This was really happening.
As the door opened again they heard, "What are you doing up here? Hey, Friday wait." He was pulling hard on his leash to get inside. Wagging his tail madly as he looked around the door. "Okay, just give me a second."
"It's okay. Come in. Come in." Robin stepped through the door and froze. Olin closed and locked the door behind her. Friday ran over to Robert as soon as she dropped the leash.
"Furface!" Robert knelt as Friday rushed over to him, both ecstatic to see the other.
Robin and Anna walked over and hugged each other. "I understand why Uncle Sean wanted me to start taking Friday on walks over here. If I started doing it before you got here, it's not strange that I am still doing it."
"Now that is impressive," Alex noted. She never would have thought of something like that. Anna Robert and Robin can at least get in some visits for now.
Robert picked up Friday and carried him over to the couch and sat down with him, "Oh you're a good boy. I missed you. Yes, I did." Robin came over and joined them, Robert hugged her as soon as she did. "It's good to see you too." Then he kissed her cheek.
"I had no idea this was happening. When did you get here?"
"Not that long ago, actually," Anna said as she joined them. "We had no idea this was going to happen either but I am sure glad Sean set this up for us."
"Me too," Robin agreed happily. Quickly the family of three were chatting happily, while Friday got lots of love and affection.
Alex and Olin settled in at the table and had a cup of tea. There was no point in running off right away and this way Olin could ask Alex some questions. "You look so much like my chum. It's a trip, two Annas." Then Olin laughed and went on to tell the story of how she got to know Anna Robert and the rest of the little group of friends working together now.
…
After Robin had left and they felt enough time had passed Olin and Alex got ready to leave. Alex had a mostly gray wig on this time and a shale around her shoulders. Together they went down to the same back entrance they had come in through. "Walk slower and hunch over a little bit." Then Olin linked their arms as they slowly started walking towards her car. When they got to it she opened the door for Alex who was doing a wonderful job and if anyone saw them they would assume Olin is just giving an older lady a ride somewhere.
As they drove Alex looked around at the city. She had no idea what these buildings she was passing were, for all she knew she could have been taken right by her sister's house and she wouldn't have known. As they drove an odd feeling started to come over Alex. This was going to be the first time she would really be on her own since that terrifying night. A chill ran through her as the image of Faison walking out of the dark toward her played in her mind.
Feeling herself getting worked up Alex started to focus on her breathing. After a moment she was more relaxed again. They would not have come back here if they thought Faison was ready to strick. The plan is to hide her away and keep her far from the danger. There should be no reason to believe she will be in any more danger. Even with that logical thought in her head, Alex couldn't help wondering if she could get pulled back in. Could she be put in situations where guns are pointed at her? Would she see that man again? There were still nights that she woke from nightmares of that night.
Olin reached over and gave her hand a squeeze, "You are in good hands here, Alex. My chum and the Commish, they have a radical team here. They've stopped loads of bad guys. They'll stop this guy too."
Alex smiled over at her, "Thank you, I needed to hear that."
"There is no one more driven than Anna and Robert when it comes to their daughter."
"I am learning that more and more all the time. This time it isn't a case or an assignment. It's personal, it's about their child, their marriage their life together as a family." Alex grinned as she realized just how well she understood her sister and Robert. "I know they are going to stop this once and for all."
"You betcha."
They drove on in silence then Alex saw a sign reading, The Outback. That's the name of Mac's club, she knew that was right. Olin slowed a little then pulled into a parking lot nearby. "Okay, you follow my lead. You still a little old lady but you got pep in your step."
"Okay." Alex looked over and saw that Olin was getting out so she did as well.
"Get that mop and bucket," Olin ordered from the other side of the car as she opened the back door and grab a container of cleaning supplies. Alex did what she was told and soon they were walking through the parking lot. "All I know is he wants the place cleaned up tonight. He's a good guy, I've worked for the family for years," Olin said as they walked. Loud enough for anyone nearby to hear.
"Okay," Alex said with a nod.
"We'll get it finished up quick. Oh, take the keys and open the back door there." Again Alex did as she was told and soon they were inside The Outback. It was Monday so the club was closed tonight and no one should notice only one cleaner leaves later. "Come on, you'll be staying up here."
Olin then led Alex up to the apartment. "Mac knows you are going to be up here and stooked some food for you. If you ask me you got the better hideout."
Looking around the small brightly lit apartment, "I think you're right, Olin. Thank you for getting me here."
It was then Alex noticed what Olin was pulling out of the box she had brought up, her clothing. "Oh, the rest of your stuff is in that bucket." Alex looked and sure enough, some more of her clothing and the book she was reading were nicely packed in a clear bag at the bottom of the pail.
She had no idea how or when this could have happened but she didn't care either. At this point, she wasn't sure anything would surprise her.
…
This might be the first night they had been completely alone in over a month but that didn't mean Anna or Robert wanted to do anything other than crawl into bed and sleep. Even when you are confident the plan will go off as planned it still takes a lot out of you. Knowing the team they had working with them and that all they were doing was sneaking into Port Charles didn't mean they weren't both on high alert all day.
They loved that they had already gotten to see Robin and that she was so happy they were back here. This was getting close to the end and then they will finally get to go home
As they snuggled together, safely hidden away in the little apartment. Robert's hand slid along her stomach. "I didn't want to bring this up before but we're alone here."
Anna put her hand on his. "What is it?"
"We'll get you to a doctor as soon as this is all over."
She smiled but didn't say anything.
Slowly he started rubbing his fingers on her stomach. "Am I wrong? Don't we need to find out if you can carry to term?"
A tear rolled down her cheek, "We do. I haven't taken a test but,"
"You know your body."
"So do you." She turned in his arms to look at him. "We wouldn't be given this gift if they were just going to be taken away from us. Not after everything we have been put through." She pushed his hand a little firmer on her stomach, "This little one is our reward, I'm sure of it." He leaned in and kissed her tenderly then held her as they fell asleep.
