Immediately Titan Shang tsung and his Geras teleported away leaving the group with dark raiden and sindel
Lincoln immediately tackled dark raiden while the others fought dark sindel
Lincoln kicked him in the head
then dark raiden tried to shoot lightning at him but Lincoln redirected it at him
"master Shang tsung will have this timeline!" Dark raiden said
"the only thing he's getting is my foot up his ass!" Lincoln said before opening a portal inside of dark raiden
out of the portal came a spring loaded boxing glove which came out of dark raiden's neck knocking his head clean off
"now that's a knockout." Lincoln said as dark raiden fell over
just as Lincoln turned around to deal with dark sindel she saw the dark empress impale the good sindel
"oh shit." Lincoln said
mileena went tarkatan at that sight
"if my mother dies she won't be the only sindel to perish!" Mileena yelled before jumping on dark sindel and slashing at her with her claws
dark sindel used her hair to throw her back before screaming
but mileena threw her sai into dark sindel's mouth cutting her scream off
then she ran forward and stabbed dark sindel in the back of the neck with her other sai
then she grabbed both and began to twist them eventually talking off dark sindel's head
"damn." Lincoln said
they went to see the dying sindel
"mother you can't go. Not yet." Kitana said
"it's my time dear." Sindel said
Lincoln was about to heal her but she moved his hand away before turning to Jerrod
"at least we had a few hours more." Sindel said
"I will cherish them." Jerrod said
"mother." Mileena said
"you are now empress." Sindel said "rule well."
"I will mother." Mileena said "father and kitana will help me."
then Sindel stopped breathing
Jerrod moved his hand to close her eyes
then a pink light flew into the combination of souls Jerrod was in control of
"of course." Jerrod said
"father what did you do?" Mileena asked
"I think I can explain." Lincoln said "ermac was a combination of souls just because Jerrod is in control doesn't mean they can't add any more."
"so mother's soul..." mileena began
"is a part of me." Jerrod said
"that reminds me." Lincoln said before snapping his finger
"I don't hear the other souls besides sindel." Jerrod said
"they can't hijack the body now." Lincoln said "now let's get out of here."
they left the ruins with Shang tsung and Quan chi in tow
"he's gonna bring an army." Lincoln said "a huge one."
"he'll need a portal to bring it right?" Kitana asked
"more than one. He will need a nexus of portal gateways." Liu kang
"it must be near by." Mileena said
"I can feel it." Lincoln said "we gotta strike soon."
"agreed." Liu kang said "but we cannot strike until raiden and kung Lao arrive."
"that the Lin kuei won't help us is unforgivable." Tomas said "Bi- Han has corrupted them totally."
"when this crisis ends we will deal with that one." Kuai Liang said
"this is but the opening battle in a longer war." Liu kang said "Titan Shang tsung has prepared his entire timeline for it... we cannot match it's strength."
"my counterpart said that your battle with him ripped time's fabric. Creating two timelines." Shang tsung said "but how do we know it wasn't torn further? There's two timelines can't there be more?"
"why the thought experiment sorcerer?" Liu kang asked
"you said we lack strength why don't we find some?" Shang tsung asked
"how do we do that?" Kuai Liang asked
"we gather allies from across timelines...other titans... to build an overwhelming force!" Kitana said
"if they exist we do not know if they do." Liu kang said
"we must fight the battle in front of us." Jerrod said "we can't stake out survival on pure conjecture."
"if Liu kang is right the battle in from of us is already lost." Mileena said "this maybe our only hope."
"Geras your thoughts?" Liu kang asked
"it is possible. But I am only the hourglass's steward such a search is beyond me." Geras said "it can only be undertaken by the keeper of time."
"and I no longer wield that power." Liu kang said
Geras was silent for a moment
"you may be able to regain it." Geras said
"what?" Liu kang said "how do you mean?"
"when you gave up control of the hourglass I worried that one day you would need it." Geras said "so rather than let your power disperse I collected it to this it remains safely stored."
"why did you not tell me this?" Liu kang asked
"because the process of restoring your power is likely irreversible." Geras said "returning to the life you have now as earthrealm's protector, a life you cherish, may be impossible."
"and you did not want me tempted to make that sacrifice unless it was absolutely necessary." Liu kang said
"correct." Geras said
"thank you Geras you have saved us with your wisdom." Liu kang said "now, Where have you stored my power? We must retrieve it."
"it is at the fire temple, stored in the jade jaguar gifted to you by the great kung Lao." Geras said
"I always wondered why it always had energy in it" Lincoln said
"I must go." Liu kang said "Lincoln help them with the gateways."
"gotcha." Lincoln said
then Liu kang left with Geras
"alright let's wait for them." Lincoln said
soon raiden kung lao Kenshi and Johnny showed up
"alright let's get to work." Lincoln said before teleporting the group just outside the area where the portals were
"we need to get a better look." Lincoln said
"I got just the thing." Johnny said pulling out a drone
it flew up and they could see everything on the controller
"my ex was soo wrong." Johnny said "the 30k I spent on this seems like a steal right now."
"this magic is incredible." Mileena said
"not magic your loveliness Technology." Johnny said
"I think it's clear what we do next." Raiden said
"we destroy those portals." Lincoln said
"can't you just take the magic away?" Johnny asked
"Johnny it's Titan magic I can't just..." Lincoln began before thinking about it
he snapped his fingers and all of the portals exploded
"huh. Guess I can." Lincoln said
"well then mission accomplished?" Johnny asked
"we gotta take out the warriors there or else they'll just rebuild them." Kenshi said
"he's right." Lincoln said "let's finish this."
He teleported everyone to where Shang tsung's minions were
"hi there we're gonna beat you to death." Lincoln said before ripping the dark reiko's heart out
the rest were quickly taken down after that
"it's a good thing I didn't let Titan Shang tsung get the dragon king's crown." Lincoln said
"yes but here comes the next question what now." Shang tsung said "if I could figure out the possibility of more timelines that quickly then my counterpart might too."
"that's a good point." Raiden said
"I have an idea a stupid one but an idea nonetheless." Lincoln said
"what is it?" Kung Lao asked
later
"I can't believe that this was your idea." Kung lao said
they had gathered the aid of general shao rain reiko bi-Han and nitara plus baraka ashrah and syzoth who were less than pleased to work with the villains
"look I hate it too but we're already working with Quan chi and Shang tsung." Lincoln said "what's a few more?"
"does Liu kang know about this?" Raiden asked
"yes I communicated with him telepathically so he knows." Lincoln said
soon a portal opened up and Liu kang emerged from it
"we are ready we have multiple timelines worth of allies." Liu kang said "if you join us for this battle there a possibility of death so come with if you so choose."
everyone agreed to it
so they went through the portal
when they emerged they had many different versions of people with them and they saw a massive pyramid with Titan Shang tsung on top of it
"there is no where to run Shang tsung!" Liu kang said "nowhere to hide! We have banded together to rid all timelines of your evil! The threat you pose to them ends today!
"such certainty lui kang!" Titan Shang tsung said "that this battle will end in your favour."
"it can end no other way!" Liu kang said "because across all timelines the arc of history bends towards justice!"
"does it?" Titan shang tsung asked "in this timeline it bends toward me!"
Then Titan Shang tsung opened a massive portal and out came more titans and versions of people
then both groups then charged at each
Lincoln began to make his way up the pyramid
"look out!" Tomas said moving Lincoln out of the way of an attack
they looked and saw a cyber smoke appear from a smoke cloud
"w-what?!" Tomas said
"get out of here!" Lincoln said kicking the cyber smoke away "Tomas keep fighting!"
"r-right!" Tomas said
Lincoln continued making his way before coming across a Quan chi mileena fusion
"well that's an image I'm not getting out of my brain." Lincoln said before electrocuting the fusion
Lincoln kept climbing before dodging a laser from a Kano Sonya fusion
Lincoln blocked her stab attempt and dodged the laser before kicking her down the stairs
Lincoln continued to climb
soon he noticed syzoth struggling against a Tanya Raiden fusion
he quickly shot a blast at the fusion
"your welcome!" Lincoln said before continuing onward
Lincoln dodged an attack from a raiden kung Lao fusion before kicking him into a torch and lighting them on fire
then he saw 4 versions of mileena running towards him
he quickly dispatched 3 of them before the fourth tried stabbing him in the eyes
he shot lasers from them though killing her
soon he encounter 4 faces from the previous timeline
he was about to fight when a Titan kitana stepped in front of him
"allow me." Titan kitana said before killing all four opponents
"well then." Lincoln said
"you must hurry." Titan kitana said before getting hit by a blast
Lincoln continued to climb before noticing Titan Shang tsung and Titan Quan chi charging a blast
Lincoln immediately disabled the attack
"what?!" Titan Shang tsung said as Lincoln and Liu kang began to fight the two
Shang tsung managed to get a snake construct wrapped around liu kang
"this is over." Titan Quan chi said
"yes the question you must ask yourself is if we beat Liu kang what chance do you have?" Titan Shang tsung said
"I'd say I have a pretty good chance." Lincoln said "because clearly you don't know who I am."
Lincoln snapped his fingers and the sorcerer's magic disappeared
"I'm the elder god of magic." Lincoln said "and you are nothing."
immediately Lincoln opened two portals and out of them came massive spikes which hit the sorcerer's in the arms rendering them useless
"and they called me the chosen one." Liu kang said as he got up and as mileena syzoth Johnny baraka and Tomas approached
"yeah." Lincoln said "want me to finish the job?"
"you've done enough please allow me to finish this." Liu kang said as he wiped out Titan Shang tsung and Quan chi
suddenly everything began to shake
"without them this timeline is unstable!" Liu kang said
Lincoln noticed that the Shang tsung Quan chi, nitara, general shao, reiko, Bi-Han and rain from their dimension along with some other variants were falling through wormholes
then one opened right under the group minus Liu kang
"fuck." Lincoln said before he fell through
in a different universe
when Lincoln came to he noticed two things one that the group was with him and two they were in a forest
"is everyone alive?" Lincoln asked
a bunch of different groans were his response
"ok that answers my question." Lincoln said
"where are we?" Syzoth asked
"I think I found our answer." Johnny said pointing to a sign
Lincoln read it and his eyes went wide
"aw crapbaskets." Lincoln said upon seeing the sign
"Welcome to Royal woods!"
"welp this is the worse." Lincoln said
