Chapter 53
Chuck is at the station when Tori meets him for lunch
Tori: Hey you.
Chuck: Hey sweetheart
Tori: Ready to go to lunch?
Chuck smiles as Tori takes his hand
Chuck: Let's go, baby
Tori and Chuck leave the station and head to a restaurant a few blocks from the station
Tori: I did some wedding planning earlier
Chuck: What'd you pick, babe?
Tori: I bookmarked a couple venues on my laptop I thought we could check out
Chuck: We can do that sweetheart. Call and step up an appointment.
Tori: I'm still thinking about what colors we should do
Tori said as she took a drink of her iced tea
Chuck: How about a winter wedding?
Tori: I think that'd be romantic, babe.
Chuck smiles as he takes Tori by the hand
Chuck: I love you Tori. We don't have to rush, planning the wedding babe. I'm not going anywhere
Tori: Babe, we've already been engaged for a year. Not that I'm complaining. I just want to get a head start on wedding planning is all
Chuck: I know babe. I have a week's vacation coming up soon, we'll do some more wedding planning then, how's that sound?
Tori smiles as she takes a bite of her salad
Tori: I think that sounds amazing
Chuck smiles
Tori: I love you
Chuck: I love you too.
Tori: What about Purple and Silver for our wedding colors?
Chuck (chuckles): I think that sounds nice, honey
Tori (smiles): Good, then it's settled
Chuck laughs as they enjoy their lunch date together as Chuck's phone rings
Chuck: Johnson
Detective: Hey boss, we got a hit on a jewelry heist downtown
Chuck: You and Todd, take it. I'm taking the afternoon off.
Detective: Ok, I'll keep you updated
Chuck hangs up
Tori: You're taking the rest of the day off?
Chuck: With everything that's been going on lately, I thought, you and I needed some time together, maybe get a little wedding planning done, and catch a movie later?
Tori (smiles): I think that sounds like a good idea.
They leave the restaurant and go back to the station so Chuck can get his truck.
Chuck: I'll meet you at the house
Chuck gives Tori a kiss as he exits her car and drives off, he arrives home a short time later, he walks in the house and sees Tori's dream wedding album spread out on the table
Chuck: Ok, let's check out this book
Chuck sits down next to Tori
Tori: I'm sorry if I seemed pushy about planning our wedding, I'm just-
Chuck softly smiles at Tori
Chuck (softly): Hey, you have nothing to be sorry for
Tori flips through the pages of her dream book
Tori: Ever since I was a little girl, I've dreamed about my dream man and my dream wedding, I always dreamt he'd be tall, handsome, with Brown eyes and Black hair
Chuck: Guess it was a good thing, I went to that restaurant just off campus that one day and happen to have the most beautiful waitress who slipped me her phone number
Chuck smiles as Tori blushes
Tori: What can I say? When I know what I want, I go for it.
Chuck: And now look at us, 7 years later, we're planning our wedding
Tori (smiles): I wouldn't have it any other way
Tori said as she kisses Chuck
Chuck: How many bridesmaids are you planning on having, babe?
Tori: I'm still debating on which one of my sister's I want as my maid of honor, but I'm thinking maybe 4 with my maid of honor.
Chuck: I'll probably have Chester as my best man, then Chad, Sean and your brother, Lucas
Tori: I'll do my sister, Brooke as my maid of honor, Manny, Emma and my sister, Sophia
Chuck (chuckles): You know Sophia is going to pissed she's last in your bridal party, and that Manny goes before her.
Tori: Oh well, She can kiss my ass. It's our wedding, not hers. She don't like it then she don't have to be in it, Chuck. I'll ask someone else
Tori said in a hostile tone
Chuck: Relax, Tori. I'm just saying, you know how your sister is.
Tori: Yea, I know.
Chuck: I love you, Victoria Lynn Decker. There's nothing more I want than to plan our wedding together and see it all come together on our big day
Tori: I love you, thank you for being so understanding
Chuck: Always, honey.
Tori rests her head on Chuck's shoulder
Chuck: There's nothing I wouldn't do to make you happy; You know that
Tori: I know, baby
Tori closes the book
Tori: How about we go to dinner first, then a movie?
Chuck: I think that's a good idea honey, come on, let's go babe
Chuck said as they leave the house and head to the restaurant, they arrive a few minutes later, get seated, order drinks and order their dinner
Tori: So, what movie are we going to see?
Chuck: How about the new " Nightmare Diaries part 6"?
Tori: I've been wanting to see that, too.
Tori said as she takes a drink of her wine, as the warm breeze flows through her long dark hair. A few minutes later their food arrives
Chuck: I swear, when the sunshine hits your face at the right angle, it makes you look even more beautiful than you already are
Chuck smiles at Tori as he takes a bite of his dinner, they enjoy each other's company at Dinner, a short time later, they leave and head to the movies. A couple hours later, the movie has ended and their on their way home
Tori: I think this one was better than the last one
Chuck: Yea, it was pretty good.
Tori: Nothing will beat the original
Chuck laughs
Chuck: Of course not, the original is always the best one
Tori smiles
Tori: Never mess with the original! It's a rite of passage
They both laugh
Chuck: The 2nd and 3rd movies weren't too bad either, you know
Tori : Oh, I know. I liked the 3rd one the most
Chuck pulls up in the driveway a few minutes later
Chuck: I had a good time tonight babe
Tori (smiles): Yea, me too. It was nice to get out and have a date night
Chuck: We need more date nights, we've both been so busy lately.
Tori: Well, it's a good thing we have a lifetime of date nights
Chuck smiles as they exit his truck and walk in the house
Tori: I can't wait until we have everything planned for our wedding
Tori said as she wraps herself in Chuck's arms
Chuck: I can't wait to make you, my wife
He said as he kissed the top of Tori's head
Chuck: Have I told you lately, how insanely proud of you I am?
Tori: Really now?
Chuck: Most definitely, you're going to graduate next year with your master's degree in nursing, you're working as a nurse assistant at the hospital. There's nothing sexier to me, than watching you fulfill your dreams
Tori: Thank you baby. That really means a lot to me
Tori said as she kisses Chuck
Chuck: I love you, babe
Tori: I love you too sweetheart
Tori yawns
Chuck: Sounds like someone's getting tired
Tori: Yea, I'm getting a little tired
Chuck smiles
Tori: I think I'm going to head to bed
Chuck: Ok, goodnight baby
Tori kisses Chuck
Tori: Goodnight my love
Tori heads upstairs and goes to bed
Chuck spends a little time going over Emma's case Files then heads upstairs and climbs in bed next to Tori, as he gets comfortable, Tori rolls over and lays her head on his Chest
Tori (softly): Mm, much better
Chuck smiles as he runs his fingers through her long dark hair and drifts to sleep
Next morning, Chuck wakes up to his alarm, gets out of bed, gets in the shower, and gets ready for work. He comes out of the bathroom, sees Tori still asleep in bed. He walks over and softly kisses her head and heads downstairs and goes to work. He arrives to work a short time later
Chuck: What do we have, guys? What's the latest we have with Nick Brady Talk to me
Detective: Well, from what you told us before, we know he's been fired from his last 3 teaching jobs for harassment, each one of the victims, was a blonde female with Brown or Hazel eyes. Each one of the victims, name started with an E. I did some more digging. None of the victims were kidnapped or even pressed charges against him.
Chuck: What else do we have?
Chuck said as he thumbs threw the file
Todd: I did some looking into his background, 3 prior arrests for assault, but charges were dropped by the victims.
Chuck: So, it sounds like we have repeat offender, what about any priors for anything sexual?
Detective Todd looks at Chuck as Todd sets the file on the desk
Todd: There's more, boss
Detective: I did some digging into his life, I made a call to Brantford PD, where he lived with his fiancée before she died.
Chuck: Yea?
Todd: He was charged with her death, Chuck.
Chuck: What?
Todd: He was charged but of course found not guilty in her death.
Chuck: It seems like this son of a bitch gets away with any crime he commits!
Todd: Chuck-
Chuck: He kidnapped, my sister in law's best friend! He kidnapped her, Todd. Kept her away from her family, her husband and most importantly, her little girl! He could've killed her!
Chuck's phone rings
Chuck: Yea, It's Johnson
After a couple minutes on the phone, Chuck hangs up
Todd: What was that about?
Chuck: Nick Brady just died during surgery
Detective: Case closed then?
Chuck: I guess so.
Chuck tosses the file in the trash can and sits down at his desk
Chuck: At least he won't be able to hurt anyone else
