Epilogue - 1979
"Welcome students and families to the Hogwarts Graduation of 1979! We are here today to celebrate the achievements of our graduates. I am very proud of this class and leave you in the hands of Head Girl and Valedictorian Titania Gaunt!" Headmistress McGonagall exclaimed.
Titania Gaunt was a tall and slender young woman, with long dark curly hair and blue eyes. She had been Hermione and Thomas' first child in late 1960, and the couple chose to honour Hermione's former family by choosing a Shakespearean name. That tradition followed again when they named their son a few years later, Iago Gaunt.
Her speech was long and heartfelt, many shed tears, including her parents and once she was done, James Potter ran to the stage and dropped to one knee "Titania Merope Gaunt, my love, I have been in love with you since I was 3 years old, will you marry me and put me out of my misery?"
"Okay, I'll marry you James." she replied with a smirk and he jumped up to take her in his arms and spin her around while yelling his happiness for all to hear.
"Why can't I kill him?" Thomas muttered to Hermione, sitting next to him. She glared at him, "She's almost 19 years old and has known him since she was born, besides being Harry's Potter grandmother is hysterical and I can't wait." Thomas continued to grumble to himself about how Potter had stolen his baby princess.
Hermione ignored him and looked around, she was pleased to see Severus Prince holding Lily Evans' hand, Regulus Black hugging Theodore Nott closely, Sirius Black laughing with Remus Lupin while Peter Pettigrew stood to the side as the eternal third wheel, she saw many faces she knew and many she didn't. The absence of war had allowed families to flourish and the ones Voldemort had previously whipped out were here, happy and whole. The only family line to be extinct these days was the Malfoy, but due to that loss, Hermione looked around and saw the Ollivanders, the McKinnons, the Prewetts, and even Aberforth Dumbledore was here to cheer on his daughter Ariana Vector.
The Wizarding world was flourishing, and Hermione found she had made the right decision to trust Tom Riddle 30 years ago.
