Surprising you for Kiss day
23rd of May, Kiss Day.
A long tired sigh escapes the lips of a certain dark purple haired general on her daily patrol, the squeals of the kids running past her mixing with the yelling of the merchants promoting their latest offers and the giggles of the teens around her talking excitedly about the date and that accompany her on her walk.
Sara still can't understand the appeal and popularity of such dates as Valentine's Day or the present one.
Shouldn't people gift their beloveds with nice things such as jewels or flowers or take them to fancy restaurants every here and there? Shouldn't they shower them with kisses whether it's on the lips or somewhere else in a caring way every single day? If so, then what's the meaning of such dates as the present day?
The general wonders, but then she guesses days like the present one, or Valentine's Day or such, actually exist because people might not often give their beloveds any gift nor shower them with love and kisses every day of their lives but only a few ones.
With another sigh and a shake of her head, Sara continues with her walk watching carefully around her for any danger, or any merchant trying to swindle some poor old lady, or in case a certain white haired oni is trying to cause some ruckus that will put him behind bars, before her gaze lands on a mane of pink hair in the distance.
With a fear uncommon in her, the fearsome general looks at her surroundings to quickly sneak into a nearby alley and hide in the depths of it, its dark shadows hiding her perfectly, yet letting her notice how said mane of pink hair belongs to a boy who just happened to be passing by and not to a certain pink haired priestess.
A sigh of relief escapes her lips as she sees the boy disappearing and while her heart pounds loudly against her ears.
As much as Sara loves her pink haired girlfriend and meeting her on her daily patrols to walk together while chatting about their day briefly, she still remembers vividly last year when Yae pestered her everywhere she went for a kiss given the peculiarity of the date. And even though she has grown used to public displays of affection between them or even kisses, the mere thought of being kissed in front of everybody still makes her cheeks get tinted of a cute dark hue of red.
After waiting for her heart to calm down and beat at a slower and normal rhythm against her ribcage once again, Sara contemplates her surroundings and smiles, going deeper into the depths of the alley looking around her to make sure there's nobody around so she can shift into her bird form.
Maybe this year, she can be the one surprising Yae with a kiss for such a special date and not the opposite.
The bird general thinks as she hops and begins to run, before she spreads her small wings to fly towards her girlfriend's office at the Yae Publishing House.
The flight doesn't take long before Sara finds herself perching over the branches of one of the beautiful Sakura trees surrounding the publishing house, walking over it closer to the window of the pink haired woman's office just to see her sat by her large desk, an exhausted look adorning her gorgeous features as she looks over the manuscript in her hands and that worries the crow.
Flapping her wings, Sara flies until she's perched on Yae's windowsill, hopping closer until she can tap the glass with her beak in a total of five times.
Waiting for Yae to turn around and open the window to let her in, Sara realizes the editor-in-chief may be too immersed on her reading to have even heard her, repeating her tapping once again a total of another five times, before her small golden eyes quickly meet a pair of amethyst eyes looking into them as a smile draws on her girlfriend's lips.
- Why, hello there, my little bird. What a pleasant surprise to see you.
Yae greets her playfully as soon as she opens the window and offers her hand so Sara can hop on it, smiling fondly at the small crow while she pets her soft plumage scratching her feathered chin.
Sara then can't help but notice how even still tired, Yae's features look more relaxed now that she's with her, a happy glint sparkling in her mesmerizing eyes just by her mere visit.
- Tell me, do you need anything?
Yae asks her as one of her fingers tickles Sara's puffed chest, hearing her caw in return, before she spreads her wings to fly and be at her girlfriend's face level, flying closer so Yae's lips can meet her beak. But surprisingly, she fails and Yae ends up kissing her feathered crown.
- Aw, isn't my little bird too cute~
Yae teases her, hearing Sara cawing in return, very happy that the pink haired woman can't see the embarrassing blush she feels and that would surely be tinting her cheeks if she was in her human form, before this time for real, her beak meets her girlfriend's lips and a cloud of smoke bursts out of it.
Soon enough, Yae finds herself looking into the eyes of her very handsome and human girlfriend, smiling widely as she feels Sara wrapping her arms around her waist to pull her into a deep tender kiss.
Yae can only giggle wrapping her own arms around Sara's neck to deepen the kiss, before they pull away, resting their foreheads together.
- What was that for? Don't tell me you missed me that much?
The editor-in-chief asks playfully, her eyes sparkling lovingly as she notices the cute blush adorning Sara's cheeks as well as the soft smile playing on her lips, before she sees her shaking her head.
- Maybe – Sara admits coyly, hearing Yae giggling, before she continues – But no, I just wanted to wish you a happy Kiss Day.
- Aw~ you've remembered! – Yae exclaims surprised yet delighted her girlfriend remembered such a trivial day and decided to be the one looking for her for a kiss, her heart fluttering at such sweet gesture – Thank you, my little bird.
Yae thanks her sincerely, their lips melting into another deep and tender kiss that lasts longer than it should.
- Yae…
Sara warns the pink haired woman, fighting to pull away, before she feels Yae pulling her into another kiss.
- Nope. It's Kiss Day, so I'm not letting you go.
Yae says seriously, going for another kiss upon the cute embarrassed look on her girlfriend's features, before Sara squeals and her lips find themselves kissing a cloud of smoke, the hands of the pink haired woman holding a small feathered crow in between them instead of the sexy body of her girlfriend.
- Sara!
Yae exclaims outraged of have been deprived of her kiss while Sara caws and tries to free herself of her girlfriend's hold, losing some of her feathers in the process, before she finally gets to fly towards the open window, a small bald patch being visible on her butt.
Sara can only glare at her giggling girlfriend while she's perched on the windowsill for a moment, seeing some of her dark purple feathers in Yae's hand and while she watches her waving them like a fan and as if they were her prize.
- Wait until we're at home.
Yae warns her in a playful way, winking at her as she throws her a kiss. Sara can only shiver thinking on what the fox woman will do to her once they're alone in the privacy of their home, before trying to do a strange kissy gesture with her beak in return and spread her small wings to fly away.
Yae giggles in return as she watches her bird girlfriend flying away through the sky, and before she sighs and closes the window knowing that once they're alone in the privacy of their home later, Sara won't be able to escape and will surely shower her with many kisses that will make her feel very loved, just like she does every day, smiling fondly at this as she goes back to work with renewed energy.
