Third-person POV Shanxi capital city
The Turian forces moved past the ray shield and under it they had their first losses not from plasma, bullets or lasers but from land mines,pipe bombs and IEDs. The turian's lost forty APCs and sixteen tanks and 3600 infantry from the first line of traps and enemy hit and run teams. The turian General had started to send mechs to clear a path deeper into the city. The first mechs were able to clear several small areas for infantry to pass through. The first turian forces that walked into the street of the capital were taken out by snipers. The turians moved by having half provided cover while the other advanced. The First Turian armor units pulled up and had managed to secure and set up a FOB in the city where more turians were being assembled. That's when things started to get bad.
They encountered fortified areas where hundreds of turians died before having to retreat. The enemy would gun them down when they did and give chase then brake off and reports of them taking wounded prisoners and those that surrendered to some complex in the deep part of the city and any rescue attempt was a damned suicide attempt. The humans had their own special forces on the planet and they were tearing his people apart. The lesser settlements were death traps they lost over thousand in several hours when they chased a group of humans in the forest their were traps and a underground bunker that was still being fought over and they deployed a shield like they did in the city making Orbital bombardment impossible and it was against Citadel conventions to bombard a garden world anyway. General Desolas Arterius was in command of the siege. He already lost too many good turians to these primitives that's what he would say if he was asked, but in his head these were not primitives they were far from it but orders were orders and a good turian follows orders even if they are bad.
" We have started to encounter human resistance and seven scout teams were completely destroyed with no survivors". A fellow turian sub commander said they were not making progress especially in the center that led to their capital building where the shield was coming from. A single human tank took out several APCs and two of their tanks before it had to retreat. Then their infantry were using tactics that were hitting their soldiers fast and hard before retreating laying traps.
It was damn effective.
No matter how much he was disliking these humans they were damn good soldiers and were very skilled in warfare.
" General Arterius you should see this sir". A Turain tech said and he gave him the go ahead.
The video played from a helmet camera from squad 127 he saw them lose one of their members from a sniper shot and take cover and several more rang out then suddenly stopped. The squad advanced up the building and to the top where there was a sniper's nest with the rifle left behind.
" Where did they go"? One of the squad members asked.
" Over here". A very cold and machine-like voice said and the next thing the General saw was a being in armor that looked like it was made of some kind of tube mussels. It had ammo pouches on the suit and a gas-mask looking face and had a knife in its hand.
[ Don't tell me that it was able to take down a black watch squad with just a knife] Desolas thought as he watched the carnage begin. The thing moved so fast he had to slow down the speed of the recording. The first turian dies as the monster cuts his head open then throws the corpse into another turian who was sent flying off the roof. The next turian tried to use a shotgun only for it to be absorbed but the armor that looked like it got harder and slower but much more stronger. It picked up the turian by the neck and slit the black watch member's throat and then charged the last member and they both went down four stories before landing on top of a hover car. The soon to be dubbed death spirits by the turians on Shanxi stood up like nothing was wrong before picking up a turain rifle and cloaking again and disappeared.
" By the spirits". He said so everyone could hear him.
" Sir whatever that was managed to take out seven more squads from that location and we have no idea where it will hit next". The same turian that brought this to him said.
" Send it to the Admirals they need to see this". Desolas ordered and the turian nodded. Now Desolas decided to bring in Cabals to hut those things down. " Tell the Cabals it is time to go hunting, meanwhile the bridge is where we need to punch through their left is weak. If we move now we can take it, have heavy armor and our veteran squads move to take it and have the 23rd follow behind them, so we can move in deeper". Desolas ordered." Meanwhile put pressure on their main force it should keep them from sending reinforcements ".
" Sir the 23rd is made up of 6,000 green troops and are still off loading it will be a slaughter ".
" We are gaining ground slowly. These humans have limited numbers. Sooner or later they'll run out of supplies and food and we'll be dealing with a surrendering force. until then we need to deal with the humans' defenses and that means dying for the cause this is about the safety of the galaxy".
Third person POV Alexios
Alexios and Alliance marines were moving to support the militia that was holding off 300 of regular turian infantry with armor support. They lost half their defense force after a turian black watch squad's supported by heavy armor attacked they were repelled but the militia suffered heavy losses and the bridge to the shopping distance was going to be hit if they got that bridge. The Alliance was sending three rhino tanks and fourteen squads and two groups of power armor heavy infantry to reinforce the bridge and the looks of the turians really wanted that bridge.
" Shit I used to live right up here. The dinner had some good food to". A marine said as they all were running past militia members who were setting up barricades and machine gun nests.
" Ya now it looks like a warzone oh wait it is"! The sniper snarled out. The squad Alexios was with after he helped deal with a turian APC via Tesla cannon. The bridge was over a river that was used to supply water directly to the city's water treatment facility. They were on the bridge in a few seconds where they saw the militia members that were left. The turians were already in control of the first and second barricades with the last about to break.
Alexios fired a shot and sent a turian down with a headshot. The Alliance marines followed suit. The turians took cover as the Alliance marines opened fire pushing them back. Alexios moved past the third barricade and killed a turian that was in front of him. He grabbed a grande and threw it in front of two turians that were blown apart from it.
" Push forward if the birds have reinforcements incoming they're going to roll right over us and take back the barricades". Alexios said as he stabbed a xeno in the throat. The Alliance marines managed to take back the barricades with only 10 dead and three injured. The militia was looking torn down as they lost 68 of their group of 132.
" Thank God you all showed up when you did or we would have been screwed". The last remaining officer of the militia in the area said.
" Well hunker down take a smoke or piss because we got a fuck load of hostile enemies that are probably on the way". Alexios said the marines started to set up several M247 General Purpose Machine Guns with a few M8 Wolf Spider turrets and M3063 Deployable Turrets that came out of testing. The marines were putting the dead bodies of the turians in piles in front of the third barricade. He saw several mines being planted and sniper teams were being moved into buildings behind them in case they needed cover to retreat and provide support. Alexios had grabbed a Tesla cannon and took cover as he saw a turian tank coming with more coming with it.
" That's a lot of xeno's". A marine said as he took cover.
" Ya a lot of dead xeno's". A power armored marine said with a fatman in hand.
The turians tanks soon were hit with heavy weapons before they could get off a shot the faster APC's drove in firing at the alliance forces. Alexios fired the T-cannon again taking out an APC then ducked when he was being fired at. The screams of the human and alien as the weapons fire increased. The machine guns that the alliance set up were firing non stop as the turians kept coming. The barrels of the machine guns were glowing a reddish orange color from prolonged use and did not stop firing.
" This is rhino leader we're setting up and will be dropping the hammer on the xenos in five seconds". The rhino tanks had arrived and when they fired the turians were going to be in a world of hurt.
" Copy that rhino lead". Alexios said and he saw the whitish blue plasma coming down and the turians took heavy losses when the plasma hit them. Alexios could hear the aliens scream bloody murder. Their armor did nothing to protect them from the plasma as it cooked them and fused their armor to their skin. The rhinos continued firing at the turians across the bridge. The turians started to fall back away from the Alliance forces.
" Now that is something I need to drink". A marine next to Alexios said.
" Ya we all do fuck those were not green troops". Another marine said manning the machine gun.
" I think they were veterans and we'll probably be dealing with another wave". A grizzled voice said and the man in the armor was Rick Rossman, a veteran of the war with the URF.
" How many people are gone"? Alexios asked Rick, sighed out.
" Sixty five dead and twenty four wounded. Those tanks and APCs are good but ours is clearly better and the fact they have numbers is not so good". He said and he was right, sooner or later they will be worn down.
" Why don't we just blow the bridge instead of dying on it"? A private asked Rick then snapped at him.
" Because private the General wants this bridge so when we go on the offensive we have a bridge to use and this bridge will cost more then you make in fifty years". Rick snapped at the young private. " And besides the bridge it was designed to withstand heavy ordinances after Benning where the URF kept blowing up bridges like the Germans did in world war 2. This one was reinforced and it's also close to the water pipes that lead to the water planet, an oversight on our part". Rick told the private.
" Ok what about reinforcements"?
" None just got word the aliens are pushing heavy on all fronts in and outside the city we got probably a million alien bastards down here with us". Rick said and that was a sobering moment.
" Second fleet is still eight hours away. We all fought with everything, so just a little longer and we will win". Alexios said before walking away from the barricade.
" Where in the Sam hell are you going"? Rick asked Alexios.
" Recon the enemy". Alexios said before cloaking and disappearing.
" God damn it someone get on the horn with command"!
Alexios third person POV

Alexios moved in the ruins of the old buildings that were hit hard by the fighting. He spotted several turians moving around in the open; they were wounded and could barely walk. His MA5-PR power clip was at half. He didn't use only the other weapons he had. He aimed and fired at them the first turian went down followed by the sniper then the wounded one was still on the ground. Alexios waked over to the wounded turian and tried to use its pistol but Alexios was able to smack it away. He grabbed the turian's head and psionic energy formed at Alexios fingers. The xeno screamed as he felt a painful presence in his mind like something was tearing his mind apart. Alexios was using a skill he created called Drain mind; it steals memories and information in a violent and quiet merciless way and could kill whoever the target was or drive them insane. Alexios was not holding back and this one didn't know much but there were 6000 green troops on the way along with the turians putting pressure on their main force. Alexios was no fool; he knew that it didn't matter how good they dug in, they would be overwhelmed by the sheer numbers the turians had. He did have something to make up for that but it would reveal his trump cards to soon for his liking
He was then shot at by turians that were unmistakably the 6000 green troops that were on the way; this must be the first wave they sent in. He grabbed cover and started shooting back from the looks of them; they were recon scouts.
" You're all going to die down here". Alexios said as he sent a psionic blast at the turians who were too slow and died from the explosion. Alexios moved forward firing his weapon, taking down Turian infantry one after another. Hell this was easier than he thought it was going to be anyway. He chased the retreating turians as they fell back and he killed those that were coming their comrades.
" Running away won't help, I'll just shoot you in your assess". Alexios shouted as he continued to fire, dropping a turian. Alexios took cover as more turian infantry started to show up and fired at him. He grabbed a grande and hurled it at the turians who stepped in the wrong spot and the grenade was a the mark 1 plasma grenade and while a bit big it had a massive effect. The blue plasma eradicated three more turians and one lost its arm and weapon. The M1 plasma grenade also left a nasty surprise as well. The flames were highly difficult to put out and they melted armor rather easily.
" Alexios the alliance is being pushed back on all fronts the enemy has too many troops". His AI Mat said and Alexios cursed as he gunned down another xeno.
" We will hold out, we just need an ace in the hold and I think we have a few dozen back at the testing grounds". Alexios said as he started to move into a building.
" We do have 6 Cougar light Mech's, 6 Stiletto medium mechs, 6 Vulture heavy mechs, 6 Atlas heavy mechs, 6 Nova Cat heavy mechs, 6 Ragnarok Assault mechs, and 6 Puma light Mech's". The AI informed him and Alexios gave the order for them to mobilize; they would be sent to the front lines and push the turians back. Alexios doubted the turians had anything short of an orbital strike that could take them down well, he hopped. " Tell General William's he has some heavy reinforcements heading his way". He said as he started to leave some surprises for the turians.
Meanwhile at the alliance frontline
The main battle was a nightmare as the human's were being pushed back by the more numerical turian's. The streets that once had people using them for their daily lives were now ruins and bloodied wreckage from both sides littered the streets. The bodies of the invaders and defenders laid all over the place and for the turians it was more losses then they experienced then the last war they had. The sounds of plasma laser and bullets filled the world as the fighting only grew more intense as time went on. The tanks that stood their ground managed to inflict heavy damage to the invading aliens but they were being overwhelmed by sheer numbers.
Then the ground started to shake like something was big and heavy was coming. The question was soon answered when a massive walking robot appeared and let loss a stream of fire at the turian forces dozens of turians were incinerated at a time the turian tanks and APCs did little to no damage and when a different model approach and it was clear it was a bigger model and it skull like face terrorized the turians then it fired multiple green lasers at the xenos positions. The two mechs smashed the turian offencive charge to shambles and the turians retreated from the battle. The whole time this was happening mechs started to engage turian forces across the city forcing them back.
" Holy zombie jesus what the hell has MVT been working on". A marine said as he saw the carnage that was left in the mechs wake. The Atlas mech came over and the alliance forces stopped and looked up.
" This is LT brightburg pilot of the killing machine known as an Atlas heavy mech and I just saved your assess hope you all are ready for more because the xeno's are about to send a fuck tone of troops and armor". The mech pilot said as two more mechs came and they were Vulture heavy mechs. " Look we're heading out into the thick of the invading force, use this time to shore up your defences odd are we will not be coming back". The mech then started moving out with the rest of the mechs.
" Alright you heard him fortafy the area, start planting any mines we have left and make whatever you can last". The commander in charge of the area said as he helped his men hunker down.
Third person POV Turian FOB General Desolas preparing for the humans counter attack
He was ordering a full retreat from the city; there was no way they could win and the humans would be able to repulse them if they tried. The giant mechs that appeared tore through his forces before they could even make plans to counter attack. The mechs had no shields but the armor was so spirts damn tick it made up for it.
" Brother". Desolas turned and looked at his brother who was looking worse then he felt his armor was scared and he was missing an arm from what he said a female human with an asari like skin tone took out his squad and took his arm before he could finish her and the worst part he saw the recording that female moved to damn fast and was flexible his brother had an opponent who was clearly an expert in fighting those who were above her weight class. This whole invasion was costing them too much.
" Saren you need to get aboard the shuttle and leave with the wounded". Desolas said as he was issuing orders for the withdrawal from the city.
" I will but why are we retreating we still can win we have the numbers an-".
" QUITE! We lost 12,800 soldiers. That's three legions gone and five armored squads from those giant mechs. We can't beat them here with no air support or orbital support. We are leaving, that's an order I expect all of you to follow it"! Desolas had lost it with his brother who along with his sub commander wanted to keep pushing into the city. No one could say a word as several screams followed by the sound of weapons fire soon took over.
" Massive enemy counter attack, the giant mechs are leading the assault and what looks like infantry supported by armor on the way". Desolas only looked as the mechs crushed his forces under their feet and fired their weapons.
" You lose aliens, we win". Desolas stopped and his blood went cold as the same voice of the death spirit that annihilated the blackwatch squad now stood in front of him holding a turian by his broken neck and then several more appeared from nowhere and each one was holding several different weapons and his base was being surrounded.
" We surrender everyone, drop your weapons, that's an order". Desolas sent out the order over his omni-tool. The nano soldier then used his to contact General William's who accepted.
" This is Admiral Drescher and the second fleet of the Alliance military, your fleet has fled the system of all turian forces I hear by order you to surrender". Drescher's voice sounded like music to every human's ears. THe cheering from the Alliance force drowned the turians in the fact they had in that last 1000 years not lost a battle now were defeated by a much younger race.
Shanxi capital city capital building
The arrival of Drescher and the second fleet had been a godsend as she had whipped out 78% of the alien fleet and forced the rest to retreat out of the system. The losses the alliance forces suffered were manageable but too high for many people to like. They had thankfully lost no civilians but out of the 34,000 men and women who defended Shanxi only 14,000 remained; the defence fleet only had 12 of the original 38 left. MVT lost very little but they were out in force helping rebuild and set up a prison camp that MTV PMC were guarding and with the hatred the people of Shanxi were feeling right now it was probably a good idea.
" Reports suggest that the nearest turian world is rather close; from the date of the black boxes we have we can launch an effective counter attack and hit their outer colonies". Drescher said her fleet was ready but that would leave Shanxi defenceless. Admiral Hackett and the fifth fleet and Sixth fleet were already on the way to reinforce the system. The Allianc's old navy of eezo based war ships of 200 vessels that were fully retrofitted were called into service again. The Alliance has called in all the reserves and have indeed moved into war time.
" Parliament is currently giving us a blank check to make sure the aliens won't get back on our world but this citadel council is worrisome".General William's said and the man looked like he had aged considerably in the last few hours.
" Once the fifth and sixth arrive we should move fast and capitalize on the chance the turians will want to keep this in house from what I could tell they were arrogant enough to try to enforce a law we had no Idea even existed and now they have killed thousands of humans in the name of some bullshit law and they need to be shown that is unacceptable". Alexios didn't need to say more than that and his own people were telling him the unrest in the central world's riots were happening for a call to war. " There are several projects we put on the backpedal but now I have no choice to speed up". Alexios said mankind the other two look at him.
" We have already seen the mechs you have but what else have you been hiding"? General William asked and Alexios brought up an image of a massive ship bigger and more heavier armed than anything in the fleets and some odd armor.
" Project infinity and the SPARTAN project". Alexios said to the two and he was going to help tear the galaxy a new asshole before this war was over.
