I promised you all things were about to get much worse and I intend to keep that promise to its fullest extent.
Not much really happens in this chapter besides Mai freaking, Zuko cracking during a meeting and almost nobody having a good time. Hope you all enjoy!
:)
With that said, let's get this chapter started.
Mai felt her blood go cold as she read that headline over and over again just to make sure she didn't misread it. But she did not misread it, the title was still as clear as day and she feel a great amount of fear fill her as she reads it.
' It is well-known by now that our current reigning Fire Lord Zuko won the Throne in an Agni Kai against Princess Azula on the day of the Comet. But these are nothing more than lies spread by the pretender to legitimize his claim. While it is true that Princess Azula issued an Agni Kai against Prince Zuko for the Throne, the challenge was by no means proper or official! The Agni Kai did not take place in a proper dueling arena or was even officially sanctified by a Fire Sage, so it cannot be considered a legitimate Agni Kai to begin with. Even ignoring that, Prince Zuko was NOT the one to defeat Princess Azula in the Agni Kai. An eyewitness to the duel saw that Prince Zuko was struck by lightning and it was the Avatar's waterbender who defeated Princess Azula, making Prince Zuko's claim to the Throne via the Agni Kai invalid!'
' Furthermore, Princess Azula beloved war hero and conqueror of Ba Sing Sae that ended the war and allowed our loyal soldiers to come home is dead. She has been dead for three months! After falsifying his victory over his loyal sister, and locking her away in mental asylum for over a year without trial, our beloved Princess was found dead in a forest after being released under mysterious circumstances by Prince Zuko. The condition her body was found in a horrifically burnt manner and the person who found the body was none other than the Avatar himself. Was it merely a coincidence or was the Avatar ensuring his puppet couldn't be deposed?'
" This news sheets...its purposefully trying to make it sound like Aang killed Azula..." Ty Lee muttered in shock and Mai couldn't help but think she was understating the issue because it was so much worse than that. The article was framing the Avatar as the one pulling Zuko's strings.
Mai couldn't respond as she felt her hands shake as she read the last line in the news sheet.
'Fire Lord Zuko is nothing more than a pretender to the Throne who caused our nation to lose the war thousands of our brothers died for. Rise up against this tyranny!'
Mai grasped the news sheet tightly, as she felt her breathing become more panicked and it felt like she couldn't breath. This article was outright telling people to rebel against Zuko and giving them very good reasons to do so. Agni above, how were they ever going to recover from this? If they even could which she doubts. There was no way they could suppress this with how many have likely already seen it. And this was just one kid handing out dozens of news sheets on this street alone, were there others in the city or even the nation itself that was receiving this information?
The thought alone terrified her to the core, what this was going to do to not just her reputation but to Zuko's rule going forward? That was unimaginable.
" Mai...Mai!" Ty Lee's voice finally got through to her, as she gently shake her." Are you okay? You're breathing just jumped a little and your hands are shaking."
The knife-thrower did take a moment to look at her hands and they were in fact shaking a little, something that was downright inconceivable for someone like her who had steady hands for throwing weapons. The spread of this slanderous news has shaken her up more than she would like to admit, yet she can't fall apart at a time like this. She literally can't afford to.
" We-We need to get back to the palace. Now!" Mai shouted and without waiting for Ty Lee immediately began heading back to the palace at a much faster pace. She could hear Ty Lee's footsteps as she ran at a similar pace with Mai.
As they headed back to the palace, Mai could see that there was several people on the street that they passed that had similar news sheets which confirmed her worst fears. That it wasn't just that one kid handing out those news sheets to discredit Zuko, it was likely multiple people all over the city that were handing these out. It made Mai briefly wonder who would even have the capability or resources to organize something like this. She put that thought away for now, they need to head back to the palace before things really started getting bad in the streets because she was willing to bet that news like this was going to rile the people up even more than they already are.
She didn't even want to think about the potential riots or public outcry that's going to happen because of this.
It didn't take them long to get back to the palace, but when they did arrive Mai saw a large crowd of people assembled at the front entrance and none of them looked happy, a lot of them were angrily shouting at a squad of palace guards that were trying to push the crowd back but it was clear that the crowd would not be dissuaded that easily. There was a lot of shouting coming from the crowd and as they got closer, Mai could pick out what some of them were saying amongst the voices.
" Bring out the Fire Lord !"
" Is this true!? Is Princess Azula really dead!?"
" The Pretender is nothing but a fraud!"
" He desecrated our sacred Agni Kai when he brought a water savage to fight for him!"
" He searches our homes without cause, and makes us lose the war! What kind of Lord is he!?"
" He is a coward!"
Mai flinched at the numerous insults and shouts of anger that were directed mainly at Zuko, it was clear that these news sheets were working as they were intended: To get the people as angry as possible at Zuko. The crowd could not be swayed or calmed despite the guard's best attempts to diffuse the situation. There was just too much anger and Mai did not want to be out here when it finally bursts. She could practically feel a fight or riot brewing in the air.
" We need to get inside the palace." Mai said to Ty Lee who nodded in agreement.
The two of them carefully skirted their way around the crowd, doing their best to attract as little attention as possible by keeping their heads down. Thankfully the crowd seemed more busy shouting and arguing with the guards at the front, so that gave them the opportunity to slip in through the side where Mai was hoping they could just slip in while the guards attention was divided focusing on the very angry crowd.
Unfortunately, that was stopped when one of the guards noticed them and held up a hand. " Back up miss, I'm sorry but you can't just come into the royal palace."
" I'm literally the Fire Lord's girlfriend and she works here as part of the Kyoshi Warriors." Mai gave a blank look at the guard as she lifted up her face so he could get a good look at her. It took roughly 5 seconds to recognize her and for his face to turn a bit red in embarrassment.
" M-My apologies Lady Mai, go right ahead." The guard stood aside and allowed them to pass. Mai and Ty Lee pass him without another word, she really wasn't in the mood for dealing with annoying guards.
They didn't get far from the entrance when Mai spotted a familiar face dressed in Kyoshi Warrior armor and war paint that waved them over as she came closer.
" Mai, Ty Lee! You're back, what's going on out there? I heard that there was some kind of riot going at the front of the palace but I don't know much more than that." Suki asked them as they entered. She looked very much confused at what was going on
Mai let out a sigh as she looked back at the entrance." Long story, we'll explain the whole story later but can you get some Kyoshi Warriors to help out at the entrance. Tensions are high enough already and we don't need a-"
The sound of a scream cut her off and Mai turn back to see the flash of fire from one of the guards hit some of the crowd, which served to only make them even angrier. The crowd charged and Mai could hear the sounds of guards shouting to shut the gates.
Mai felt her heart sink as she realized this just went from bad to much, much worse.
The next day and a half pass by like a blur for Mai and quite frankly the entire Fire Nation palace. The incident at the front gate of the palace just served to enrage the crowd and cause them to come to blows with the guards, Mai hadn't read the reports yet but from what she heard from Suki it was not pretty. It wasn't just what had happened at the palace alone that was cause for worry, they had fires all over the city because of the news sheet regarding the Comet Agni Kai and Azula's death. Mai took the time to inform Zuko about what was going on and he was not happy to hear it to say the least. He was already in a sour mood because of how ineffective his search orders have been, this was just extra fuel to the flame.
At the moment, they were currently in the meeting room with Zuko's advisors and ministers, with Mai sitting to the right of Zuko while Suki sat to his left. It wasn't said out loud but anybody who could read a room could tell that Zuko didn't trust any of his advisors at the moment, who all had rather somber or blank expressions. Jiang was the only one who looked rather calm about what was happening despite the several fires they had going on in the city as he listed off a report on what was happening around the city amidst the chaos.
" We're still getting reports across the city about riots, fights against guards and a lot of protests against my lord." Jiang calmly read the report, but even he let out a sigh as he turned to the rest of the advisors and ministers." I've asked the guards to try and keep things peaceful, but its difficult with the population so angry."
" Is there anything that can be done to slow this down? Maybe catch the people distributing the news sheets?" One of the other ministers suggested off-handedly.
" Unlikely and there would essentially be no point to it. The news has already hit and people are already talking, performing arrests now would be pointless." Jiang shot that idea down as quickly as it was suggested." There's no point in trying to suppress the information now, too many people have seen it and they are already quite angry about it."
Mai hated just how correct Jiang was at the moment. There really was no way to take this back not at the rate it has already spread, trying to suppress the information is just going to turn public opinion against them even more than it already has and give the common people more reason to openly rebel. The information that Zuko's Agni Kai against Azula and her death acting as the trigger for this whole thing.
Mai felt a shiver go down her spine as she thought about the political nightmare they've found themselves in, there was no way they could salvage Zuko's reputation and political image at this point, be it among the nobility or the common people. Even assuming best case scenario, they don't get deposed by Ozai before the end of the year, the damage has already been done. It would take years at least to fix Zuko's image and that's without further interference from Ozai or any outside party.
All eyes in the room turned to Zuko who looked a mix of angry and frustrated, the two worst combinations to have at a time like this. Though Mai couldn't totally fault him, as there was somebody out there who was not just slandering his name, but also using his dead sister as fuel for their agenda. It was disgusting even by the most coldhearted political moves.
Zuko looked down the row of ministers and advisors, particularly giving Jiang the hard stare. " How in Agni's name did this happen on our watch? How could the people have erupted into anger and riots so quickly?"
The ministers and Jiang all exchanged looks around the table, almost as if they were all thinking the same thing. Mai couldn't help but relate to them in a certain way, she knew that the people's outrage and riots went beyond just what this recent news sheet showed them.
" If I may be blunt for a moment my lord, we honestly should have seen this coming for a while now." Jiang explained in a calm and almost grandfatherly manner, but his tone practically made it sound like he was talking down to a child. " The people have been discontent with your rule for quite some time with rising poverty, homelessness and the general unpopularity of some of your decisions has led them to riot and protest against your rule. This new information has merely pushed them to openly rebel now."
" Not to mention those ridiculous search orders you put in place to root out Ozai loyalists." Suki couldn't help but add to the meeting. That made quite a few ministers give her a dirty look. It was obvious none of them were happy about the presence of a foreigner in their council room.
" Those search orders were necessary to try and catch Ozai's supporters!" Zuko couldn't help but shout back in anger in defense of his earlier action.
" Those searches were wrong and unethical!" Suki retorted." All they did was infringe on people's space and make them even angrier than they were already!"
Mai couldn't help but notice some of the councilors and advisors narrow their eyes at Suki, it was clear that while some of them may agree with what she's saying they don't agree with her presence. Jiang almost looked annoyed for a moment as he spoke up. " For a warrior so devoted to justice and fairness, you certainly didn't have any problems with Princess Azula's imprisonment without trial for over a year."
Suki recoiled in shock at the words from Jiang, as did the rest of them. The Kyoshi Warrior's frowned at the old advisor and she crossed her arms." That was...that was different. Azula was dangerous and needed to be contained."
" Because she was dangerous or because she beat you and wounded your warrior pride?" Jiang responded calmly." Yes, I can see how your wounded ego is grounds for Princess Azula's imprisonment without trial." Jiang's words made Suki flinch in response, unable to come up with a retort to that.
Zuko stood up in anger at what Jiang had just said." Azula wasn't imprisoned! She was in a-"
" A mental asylum that basically serves as a glorified dumping ground for the nobility." Jiang's voice is calm, not even shouting. But Mai can practically hear the sharpness in it as he spoke about the asylum. " Yes, I am certain all those other patients at the asylum would agree that the place is NOTHING like a prison, my lord."
The rest of the councilors and advisors seemed to be in agreement with Mai hearing someone muttering: "For one, I think any one of them would prefer Boiling Rock to that hellhole."
" Now that I think about it, did you ever DO anything about that place after finding out about it? Or did you just leave it be, in case you had another sister you wanted to get rid of?" Jiang asked in a more biting tone.
" Watch your tone advisor Jiang." Zuko said with gritted, but even he flinched in response at the reminder that he didn't do anything about the asylum.
Mai knows the real reason why Zuko didn't or rather couldn't do anything about the Soothing Minds asylum that he dropped Azula into. She hadn't known it either until Zuko did some digging following Azula's escape, the asylum was a glorified dumping ground for the nobility. A nice convenient place that was willing to house noble children who had mental problems that the family didn't want to deal with, so they paid the asylum a generous sum take them off their hands. Of course, Zuko didn't know any of this beforehand and only sent Azula there on advisement by Iroh which may not have been the smartest move.
Mai had even heard some rumors in the noble circles from her parents, that some of the girls dropped off there didn't have actual mental problems to begin with. Some were the daughters of the Fire Nation's more traditional families that were considered too rebellious to suit the roles assigned to them, so they were sent to the asylum to be taught 'humility' and 'respect'. It made even Mai sick to her stomach just thinking about it and that's saying something.
The worst part? Zuko really couldn't do anything about the asylum even if he wanted to. The damn place was too well-known and funded by the nobility, there was simply too many powerful houses that had their stake in it and considering the current situation, they couldn't afford to lose anymore support than they already have. It just served as another crushing reminder about how cornered they really were.
" I am merely speaking my mind, I thought you would appreciate that considering the last time you were part of a war meeting with your father ended so well." Mai looked at Jiang as if he was a mad man, because there was no way he would be crazy enough to push that button.
Zuko gripped the table hard as he seethed in anger at what he just heard, he turned to Jiang with a glare that would impress his father." Would you care to repeat Jiang?"
" I believe you heard me well enough, my lord." It seemed Jiang really was crazy, because he is pushing that button. The other councilors looked either impressed or astonished by it." And once again, I did not say anything untrue. Like when I say that your policies thus far have done nothing but hurt your people and this nation as a whole, even putting Ozai aside, this was inevitable at the rate we were going. Because you thought it was more important to empty our coffers groveling for forgiveness to the other nations instead of helping our people."
" How dare you!" Zuko pointed at Jiang in anger." You think you're fooling anybody!? We all know you're working for Ozai, Jiang! I could have you arrested on suspicion of treason right now!" Mai was getting increasingly worried at what Zuko was going to do, it was obvious that Jiang was riling Zuko up but it made her even more concerned what Zuko was going to do.
Jiang did not look the least bit unnerved by the threat, in fact he looked rather calm. " You may certainly try to do that my lord, but there is no evidence for such an accusations and it would never get far. Then again I suppose you're used to people catering to your needs and emotions." Jiang proceeded to do the worst possible thing in that situation: He smiled brightly at Zuko. " I suppose you should be glad that Princess Azula is dead, at least now she can't outright say it to your face that she was the better heir to become Fire Lord."
Ty Lee gasped in shock at those words, as did Mai. Of all the things Jiang could have possibly said, that was probably the worst of them all. Zuko grit his teeth in anger and Mai knew that Jiang had crossed a line in the sand.
Things happened fast. Way too fast for Mai or Suki to react, as she saw the crackle of lightning at Zuko's fingertips and saw it shoot towards the old advisor.
Jiang still had a smile on his face as he was blasted out of his chair and rolled onto the ground. The other advisors and ministers jumped up in their seats, screaming and shouting in shock at what had just happened.
" ZUKO! " Mai stood up in shock, as did Suki. The Fire Lord blinked and his mind seemed to finally catch up to what he had just done.
" You're out of line boy!" One of the ministers shouted at Zuko in anger, as a few others help Jiang. From the way, his body moved slightly it was clear the lightning hadn't killed him.
" Watch your tone!" Zuko immediately got defensive again, it was clear he hadn't calmed down yet and the minister's anger wasn't helping. If anything it seemed like things were escalating to a full-on fight.
" He's just an old man, what in Agni's name is wrong with you!?" One of the ministers shouted at him, as they made sure Jiang was okay.
" Advisor Jiang was right about you! You're nothing more than just a pathetic boy still trying to prove he's better than his sister and spectacularly failing as a result!" The minister from before shouted at him.
Zuko's eyes flash with anger as he got into firebending stance" I'll show you pathetic!"
Mai felt her breath become hitched as her worst fears seemed to come true, as the other ministers and advisors got into firebending stances as well. Suki reaching for her fans and readied herself for a fight.
But it didn't happen as something unexpected caused Zuko to freeze up and fall to the ground.
Mai turned her eyes to Ty Lee who stood behind Zuko in a chi-blocking stance, it would seem that Ty Lee knocked Zuko unconscious much to the surprise of everybody there.
Suki was shocked by her friend's action. " Ty Lee, what are you-"
" This meeting is over." Ty Lee suddenly announced." Zuko is very, very sorry for what happened to Jiang so please take him to the infirmary. Everybody just...calm down, please?"
The advisors and ministers looked between each other, unsure of what to do. They all looked ready to fight Zuko to the death just a few minutes ago but with him unconscious, they were caught off guard by what to do.
" S-She's right..." A voice spoke up and all eyes turned in shock to see Jiang rise, grabbing onto the table for support." This meeting is over."
" Jiang! Are you okay? How are you even standing?" One of the minister's ask in shock.
" It takes more than a little lightning to kill me... but seriously somebody take me to the infirmary" Jiang said as he had help from two ministers who helped him walk.
The advisors and ministers gave one last glare at them all, before they left with Jiang.
Mai fell back in her chair, letting out the biggest sigh of relief in her life. Yet she knew it wouldn't last long.
Zuko woke up to the sound of voices, as he slowly opened his eyes to see the ceiling of his bedroom. He felt that he was laying on his bed and as he tried to get up, a near instant headache come on, it as if somebody had hit him in the back of the head. He tried to remember what had happened before everything went black and he remember Jiang insulting him, before he retaliated with a blast of lightning and everything went dark.
" Ugh..." Zuko let out a groan as he sat up on his bed to get a better look at the voices, which he can now see is Suki and Mai talking to each other. While Ty Lee sorta just hang backed by the entrance.
" Zuko, you're awake." Suki said as they noticed him come to.
" Yeah, what happened just now? It felt like somebody hit me."
" That's because somebody did hit you. Ty Lee knocked you out before you got into a fight with your advisors and ministers." Mai said in a blank tone with crossed arms. Ty Lee flinched as she stood closer to the entrance.
" What!? Why did you do that Ty Lee?" Zuko asked angrily at the acrobat who just kept quiet.
Mai stepped up with a disappointed look on her face. " Don't get mad at her Zuko, she saved your butt from making a bigger fool of yourself than you already did."
" Excuse me?" Zuko couldn't believe what he was hearing from Mai.
" Zuko, what happened back there?" Mai asked with a frustrated expression.
Zuko recalled what happened during the meeting, Jiang practically insulting him and Zuko shooting lightning at him. He felt conflicting emotions at the memory, he was still angry about what had happened but in hindsight that was not the best answer. " I-I was angry, I couldn't just let Jiang insult me like that-"
" So you thought shooting him with lightning was an appropriate and mature response for a Fire Lord?" Mai refuted.
" Well, what did you want me to do Mai?!" Zuko responded angrily.
" I don't know, literally ANYTHING else!?" Mai shouted in anger, a rare emotion for her to show openly that it made Zuko surprised as Mai went on a rant." This is an Agni damned disaster Zuko and now thanks to you, its been made even worse! You just made every single person on the Council your enemy starting today, and you made Jiang the victim by letting him goad you into attacking him!"
" My father did the same to me and I didn't hear anybody protesting against him." Zuko said bitterly.
Mai faltered for a moment, but she stood strong as she responded to that one. " Ozai had a solid power base under him at the time and nobody wanted to challenge him. The difference between that and this, is that Jiang is a well-respected member of the Council that everybody listens to."
Zuko wanted to refute her, to say that she was wrong...but the logical side of him for what little it was worth knew that she was right.
" You know what? I'm not doing this. The citizens are still rioting in the streets protesting against your rule and we need to keep an eye on it." Mai turned on her heel as she headed for the exit. Suki followed after and Ty Lee hesitated for a moment, but followed her friend.
Zuko was left alone to his thoughts and he hated the silence that followed.
Jiang let out a groan as he stretched his old bones as he sat on one of the beds in the palace infirmary. He had been burned before in his life through a variety of situations but getting struck by lightning was a new one. He had heard the rumors and only seen it done in person a handful of times, but Agni above getting hit by lightning hurt a lot even if it didn't outright kill him. He supposes he should count himself lucky that the Fire Lord's mastery over lightning is weaker than Princess Azula's, he was certain a bolt from her would kill him.
Then again, he was hoping to goad the Fire Lord into attacking him. He knew that there were a few holdouts on the Council that were still either in support of the current Fire Lord or neutral. So what would be the best way to discredit and defame Zuko?
The answer was simple: Destroy what was little of his reputation among the common people, nobility and the Council.
The first step was to destroy Zuko's credibility and claim to the Throne via the Agni Kai he had with Princess Azula on the day of the Comet, before now he had heard some rumors about how the fight had happened but nothing concrete. It wasn't until he had managed to convince one of the Fire Sages that had been present that he found out the truth. That Zuko didn't actually win the Agni Kai and instead had to rely on the Avatar's waterbender to do it for him, which was already a breach in the traditions and rules of the Agni Kai.
It was the perfect material he needed to discredit Zuko. There was also Princess Azula's imprisonment at the asylum and her death that he used as fuel to flame the people's hatred towards Zuko. Princess Azula was a beloved figure in the Fire Nation, a war hero of her time that was admired by both the common people and nobility alike for her policies along with ending the war in their favor.
Jiang had to admit that he felt a little dirty using Princess Azula's death as a political move to discredit Zuko, but knew that it had to be done. He can only hope that she would approve of this in some way.
Getting hit with lightning by Zuko was not exactly his plan, but it still worked in his favor. Now the rest of the Council should be more agreeable with him. He just hoped getting blasted by lightning was worth it.
Jiang was snapped out of his thoughts when he heard the approach of the doctor. " How bad is it doctor?" Jiang asked.
" You'll need bed rest for a few days, but otherwise you should make a full recovery." The doctor said in a calm tone, looking at a few notes.
" Thank you doctor." Jiang nodded his head in gratitude. He was glad that he has already settled the business of spreading those news sheets detailing the truth of the Agni Kai and Princess Azula's death. A few days rest would do him wonders after the past few days.
I am getting far too old for this.
Jiang took a moment to think about retirement for a few moments while he recovered in the infirmary. He was just about getting to that age wasn't he? It wasn't the first time he had thought about it. He has more than enough money to live comfortably for the rest of his life, he would have finally no longer have to worry about convincing the Fire Lord or other ministers to act rationally. He would finally have enough time to visit his brother in the countryside and all.
Sadly, Jiang could not even enjoy his fantasy as he heard the doors to the infirmary open. For a moment he thought it was the Lady Mai coming to talk to him after the meeting debacle, but then he saw it was some of his fellow ministers and advisors from earlier.
" How are you Advisor Jiang?" Ming asked kindly.
" I've been worse, doctor says that I should be fine after a few days rest." Jiang answered simply.
" I'll be blunt, what the Fire Lord did was inexcusable and quite frankly disgraceful for someone of his position. For all, he harps about being better than his father, he certainly doesn't mind following in his footsteps when it suits him." Feng said bitterly, as some of the other ministers agreed with him.
" I thought things could improve with Fire Lord Zuko eventually, but this has too far and the situation has deteriorated too much." Ming said in agreement.
" Careful Feng and Ming, talk like that and you could be labeled a potential traitor like me." Jiang said with a small smirk, though he had already noticed one of them lock the door to the infirmary and keep an eye out for any potential listeners.
" I think we're far past that point." Feng replied.
" What are you saying exactly?" Jiang had a good guess, but wanted to hear it for himself.
" We all discussed it and we just wanted to let you know that you have our support through whatever comes next." Feng said genuinely. It wasn't necessarily a show of support for Ozai exactly, but for him. That was good enough.
" Thank you...all of you. You are all truly loyal to the nation." Jiang thanked them sincerely.
Jiang smiled as he knew that his plan was working exactly as he intended for it.
So a lot of things happened in this chapter and none of them particularly good. Jiang using Azula's death and what really happened during the Agni Kai was sudden but I think it fits his character perfectly since he's the type of man who relies on subterfuge and political maneuvering to eliminate his enemies. The riot at the front of the palace is a perfect example of how quickly this information turned the public against Zuko.
But of course, Jiang can't take all the credit for why this is happening. Zuko's bad ruling, decisions and policies have played a large role in fueling the anger of the people towards him, Jiang just poured a ton of gasoline on a slowly growing flame to make it explode into a bonfire. And of course, Zuko losing it in the meeting room that makes him strike Jiang made the remaining councilors turn over to Jiang's side. I just love making things worse for the characters.
:P
Hope you all enjoyed the scene where Jiang tore into Suki and Zuko verbally about Azula's imprisonment and the asylum. I'll be honest, the main reason the asylum hasn't really been mentioned much these past few chapters was because I kinda forgot about it and wasn't sure how to handle it in the story, in favor of focusing on Spirit Navigating escapades. But I don't worry I do have some plans for the asylum and none of them are good for the people there, I can promise you that.
To anybody who's wondering when we'll be getting back to Azula and Kazumi, best estimate is maybe the chapter after the next one or two chapters from now. Whichever comes from first.
Now let's reply to some reviews shall we?
To Lord 770:
I'll be honest, I actually kinda forgot that Sokka is Piandou's student too, so thanks for the reminder! His reaction isn't going to be much better than Zuko's in all honesty.
Yeah, things are going very bad for Zuko's rule and they are not going to get better anytime soon. Not sure he'll be deposed in that short span of time, since I can't imagine Ozai wouldn't want to be there to personally depose his son but we'll see.
Thank you so much for reading!
To FanGirl:
They definitely do not as it infringes on their privacy and rights.
Everybody needs a Ty Lee in their life to remind them that things can be better.
With all that said, I will see you all in the next one.
Angel Out.
